Change TW Quickpanel background. Which files? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all.. I've searched everywhere, modified all sorts of files/png's... I can't seem to get the blue background for the touchwiz quickpanel to change.
What apk? I assume it's SystemUI.apk. Which file? Is it a PNG or is it an XML edit?
One more.. the green bar below the quickpanel icon (the on/off indicator).. same question as above. What file is it?
What I'm talking about:

Thanks all.

Inside SystemUI/res/drawable named as tw_quick_panel*.9.png. To modify 9.png format (stretchable png), you need a special editor draw9patch from Android SDK. I had no experience editing 9.png file

Or you can make suitable size toggles and put then in drawable folder and then give reference to them in toggles xml file!!!!
@ketut I think toggles png s are not in .9 format!!!!!
but even if they are above method will work and will probably save you from messing with .9 png files

[Q] White background for option menu in CM7 ?

Does anyone know if CM7 or stock android menu can be changed to white background like MIUI (pic 1) or iphone? Doesn't have to be as pretty with mixed gray and white exactly, just a simple white background instead of black for 2nd pic.

Found a thread mentioned 2 files named menu_background.9.png and menu_background_fill_parent_width.9.png in the framework.apk. Are the popup menu & full screen menu setting related? Could someone help ? Can I just unzip the apk and replace the image, but then how put apk back to the OS? Thanks in advance.

Link is down for the moment. I saw a youtube tutorial of the site. Looks pretty handy to mod the theme, but haven't seen the option to change the menu background yet. I'll try it out when the site is back on.
Thanks Jason.
UOT Kitchen cannot mod the color of the menu screen. It can change pretty much everything else, but not menu colors.
No reason you can open up FrameworkRes.apk and change it yourself though. That's all a dev would be doing. Changing more complicated things is hard (obviously) but simple graphic-related stuff is really, really easy.

[Q] Theming related dialer/contact

I've been messing about with some theming on my dialer. I now have a HUGE amount of respect for anyone that does this on any level. Talk about a steep learning curve. btw anyone who starts doing this without a nandroid backup... don't!
I'm a bit confused with the whole Draw 9-patch thing, and how to make it work properly. I got the round corners to sort of behave, and tried to get the stretchable content correct, but that's proving a bit of an issue for me at the moment. I think with a bit more trial and error I might succeed.
Can someone please tell me where where the bottom content resides, ie the Phone / People Groups? I want to play around with the highlight color
kudos to zounduser for getting me thinking on this path. The blue call button in the screenshot is his.

That bottom bar resides in the skin you are using, if its the stock skin the it would be in the fusion apk
About the .9 pngs, I have the same issues with them. I try to avoid them in all honesty or if I can find some pre compiled one's in the color I need I use them

Ok, I worked out where I went wrong with the .9 pngs, I can deal with those now.
What I'm struggling to work out, even with quite a few guides out there, is the dependencies required to decompile some apks. For ex, I want to decompile the htcdialer.apk but I know it requires other resources. How the heck do I know, or discover what they are?

Circle Battery 1% Increments w/animation Info/Example

In case any of you people who make themes hadn't noticed yet, Samsung changed the names of the xml files that handle the battery indicator.
They used to be:
stat_sys_battery.xml
stat_sys_battery_charge.xml
They are now:
tw_stat_sys_battery.xml
tw_stat_sys_battery_charge.xml
After decompiling the SystemUI.apk, they are located in the /res/drawable folder.
I have attached the two files I use that give you the 1% increment battery and 100 file animation. Note that the icon names for the indicator do not need to change, you can use the same ones you always have and just drop them in the drawable-xxhdpi folder.
I also attached my SystemUI.apk for anyone who's interested to look at and use if you like. I don't go to fancy with my stuff, just add a little color. I also change the res of the battery indicator from 54 to 60 to make it a little bigger for my tired old eyes.
Please note that I don't have time to take requests for mods (as much as I'd love to). When I have a few minutes, I make something for myself to use, and if someone else likes it too I'm glad to share.
Here are the files:
tw_stat_sys_battery.xml
tw_stat_sys_battery_charge.xml
SystemUI.apk

OK so I get that one of these is the circle battery, but what are the other 2 files??

other two files are the .xml files needed to make it 1% increments, those are for the themers and devs :fingers-crossed:

[Help!] Skin Bug

Hi guys I made a skin for my HTC EVO shift today using a chromebook, some old skins, some pngs from a cm7 theme and some sorta zipsigner for Android. The bug at hand is the indicator on the homescreen over the dock is recognizing the dock as an arc and not a flat dock, so its curving down into my dock png when I scroll over.
Sent from my PG06100 using xda app-developers app
You'll probably have to change the indicator pngs, I remember seeing a couple skins with a flat indicator... I just searched Sense 2.3 skins when I had the device

Well uh i have another problem, I don't know how to change the name of the skin. Do you know how to do this? I looked on a few forums and apparently there's a folder in /res/ called values and I have to edit the strings.xml and in all my skins there's no values folder at all.

Sorry it's been to long. I joined the dark side and have been on Samsung for awhile.
The only way to see the Values folders is by decompiling the apk with apktool.
There is an apktool for Android now... It's still beta but I've got a link if you guys want it
HERE is a noob friendly tool I've used to decompile apks. It may be helpful to you.
