1. Download and unzip it once beause there is a zip inside the original zip file
2. Just use twrp to install it, good luck.

Why would you rather sell it with full stock instead of CROMI-X, which is stock-based and very much optimized??!

Did you manage to revert to stock? May I ask where did you get the new firmware? All I found on Asus are firmware updates, not full firmware.

All firmware files that you can download from the Asus website contain the full firmware.

If i will root my pad with 7.1 Rootkit - will the rootkit automatically install CWM? Or do i have to install CWM another way?

It will install a "safe" version of CWM recovery (but it's not the latest release). I recommend that you update recovery to the latest version available after rooting your phone.

Thanks! But how to update CWM - just download the new CWM.zip and flash it via the old CWM?

Look at the serial number of your pad - it starts with "Bxx".

Yes, thats exactly the reason. Read the first post at the Rootkit-Thread once again:
This method still doesn't work for B70 revision Pads

Yes, it depends on the tablet.

Can't unlock bootloader and how to install kernel

My TF300T is running 4.1.1 but I can't run unlock app to unlock bootloader, It keep saying "an unknown error occurred...." I did a research and a lot of people meet this problem but I don't know how to fix it . This tablet is brand new.
The second question is I see the stock firmware now is 10.4.2.17 and I installed it already. However , I see on asus website , there is also kernel for 10.4.2.17 I don't know do I need to install kernel or not; or maybe install firmware is enough. if i need to install kernel as well, how to do it coz I can't find any post guide to do that. Thanks for reading and replying me

In preparation, I would advise to get that kernel and fw from asus. Its just good to have it, as a backup. I would focus on getting as much backed up as possible before, moving forward. Also, if I was you, before overwriting your existing kernel, flash a recovery onto the tablet that supports your jb bootloader. I have an ICS bootloader, so I can't help you there. I accidentally flashed over my kernel, so I want you to learn from my lesson.

[Q] stuck at ICS

hi, First I want to describe my problem. Many of tf700 users had update failure when jb came out and I am one of them. I used my tablet with ics until today. I want to update it to jb. I already read some manuel updating guides but no luck I couldnt get it worked. Even followed the guide about dmclient etc. And many of these guides they are redirecting me to asus website for jb firmware. In asus site when choosing OS there is no OS to be selected ! I dont know why. I am on .30 version of ics. Thanks in advance

OK, so you have a lot of options, do you want to run custom rom?? it's a night and day between custom rom and stock. If you are unlocked, there is NO REASON to stay with stock rom!!!
Yeah I unlocked for it but you know whats my problem. I can flash ics custom roms I know. Is there a way update to jb with twrp ? Or what do you recommend me to do
For example can I directly flash cleanrom while i am not on jb ?

with twrp you could flash full stock JB firmware (included JB bootloader), or just flash independant JB bootloader, then flash cleanrom. The easiest way is flash JB bootloader then Cleanrom. Make sure your twrp is either version 2.3.10 or newer.
JB bootloader and cleanrom can be found here:

Rooting a 4.2.1 tf300t

Hey guys, complete noob here so please bear with me. I just picked up a US version TF300T and immediately updated it to 4.2.1 JB. Now that I'm looking in to rooting this thing I'm starting to feel like this was a mistake as I'm not seeing any info on how to root with the new firmware. Should I downgrade to an older firmware? How exactly would I go about doing this? Also, are there any good guides to rooting out there?
Thanks in advance!

you'll have to wait for new versions of cwm/twrp to be released.
for now there's no root option that will work on 4.2

OK things have changed since the last answer here. Do the following...
Go to the Asus site and download v8 of the unlock tool in utilities then use it to unlock your bootloader.
Once unlocked download twrp 2.4.4.0 recovery and flash it in. See the Dev section for site and instructions.
Locate the root guide in the general section and dow unload superuser.zip from it and flash it in using twrp recovery to get root.
Go to the market and get supersu, install it and let that manage your su binary.
Hope this helps.

Can i use twrp to flash custom roms

Ok,So i am thinking about flashing custom roms but i was on android 4.1.1 when i flashed twrp and used it to get my tablet out of a bootloop by flashing stock firmware 4.2.1 so my question is now that i am 4.2.1 can i use the twrp to flash roms or do i need to flash a updated twrp
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T ROOTED
When you flashed the stock firmware, it overwrote TWRP with the stock recovery, so regardless, you'll have to flash a new TWRP. Keep in mind that if you flash any of the -jb recoveries while on the 4.2 OTA, you risk bricking your tablet. You need a recovery that ends in -42.
