Anker Battery Screwover?!! - HTC Sensation

Hey,
a few months back i brought a Anker 1900mAh battery from ebay from a dealer in the US (I am in India)
It cost about 35$...but I wasnt getting as much battery life as expected..
Then couple of days ago i tried Du battery saver, and it showed my battery capacity on full charge as 1520 mAh only....should be 1900
this is the ebay listing for the battery
http://www.ebay.in/itm/Anker-Extend...ries&hash=item43b9b11e0b&_uhb=1#ht_1725wt_922
and the play store app Du battery saver
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5kaWFueGlub3MuZHhicyJd
Can someone please try their Anker battery on Sensation (not XE) with Du battery saver and tell me what the shown capacity is...
I intend to go after this ebay seller if he has screwed me over
Thanks,

The problem is neither with the du battery saver app nor the anker battery. The mah of battery is hard coded unto kernel. So what ever battery you are going to use it shows 1520. Also the reason why battery will stay at 100% for long time during discharge. Early attempts in changing the hardcoded value in kernel was made.. But they caused bootloop so dev(s) abandoned it. Anyways sorry to blew the whistle but anker batteries turned out to have 1750mah instead of 1900 mah. But still people use it as it's better than stock

If anker claims that their sensation battery has 1900 mah but the true capacity is 1750 mah, why hasn't anyone sued them by now?
By the way, I usually get 14-16 hrs with anker and 5-6 hrs on screen time.

[Q] Anker 1900mAh or evo 3d/sensation xe 1730 battery for Sensation?

I want to buy a new battery for mu Sensation and dont know which one to get..
From what i have heard Anker 1900mAh gives around 1740mAh which is basically the same as evo 3d/sensation xe batteries..
Price doesnt matter.. Just want to know the performance..
Does the evo 3d/sensation xe 1730mAh battery produce 1730mAh of power or is that too a bit exaggerated and actually a little less?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks..
Got an anker but never opened it yet, because I found a HTC EVO 3d battery for $23 which is about same price as anker.
I got the anker if you want to buy it still sealed.
I'll test the EVO when I get it but I assume it will be a good as anker
The HTC batteries are said to be true to their ratings.
If you compare the OEM batteries here they all look to be true to their mAh ratings

Thanks guys.. But i really would like to know from someone who has used both.. coz its a one time investment for me.. =)

You will probably have better luck in the Anker thread.
This review made me go with the Anker over the XE/EVO 3D battery.

Was that really compared to the XE/EVO 3D-battery? He mentions 1520 mAh, which would mean that it's the the stock battery of the regular Sensation (the XE/EVO 3D has a 1730 mAh)?

No. It was compared to the stock battery. He said there was a 34.4% improvement on the stock battery. I think this is a bit far fetched.
Anker Battery 1900/1520 is a 25% battery life increase on stock.
XE/EVO Battery 1730/1520 is a 14% battery life increase on stock.
This person reckons 15-20% improvement

I personally am going to buy the Anker. It is $20 delivered for me, so its not much. If it sucks then I'll get the HTC branded battery.

For anyone that has an interest. I have purchased both and have used both. The Anker battery lasts longer than the stock HTC, but the EVO 3D battery last longer than both of them. The EVO 3D will give me 24 hrs with light use and the Anker will do 18 to 20 hrs with the same kind of usage. My reading found the Anker batteries can sometimes start weakening after several months. The wall charger I received with the Anker was very flimsy and I felt that I did not have a proficient piece of goods for my Sensation.

I have purchased Anker, and is definitely better than the stock one!
My colleague have XE with sock 1730mAh and it have just slight huge performance.
I use the Anker and its fine . I run coredroid and have used energy as well both clocked at 1.2ghz and undervolted -75 and since charging yesterday im on 24% with 31hrs 20min switched on . lite use some calls some bluetooth and some net shed loads of txt and 2 mail accounts . not bad in my eyes .

After this post I ordered this battery... there are 9 left. Lets hope its legit.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/200675585092?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
i have tried the anker 1900, mugen evo 3d 1950, and OEM HTC amaze battery. i find that the amaze battery worked out the best.
if i just use my phone moderate-heavy without watching videos and have emails and facebook syncing every hour, sending out lots of SMS, few voice calls, and lots of web browsing i can easily get 19-20 hours of use on my phone until i hit the 10% mark.
what i have done to test these batteries was put them into EXTREMELY HEAVY USE by constantly letting it play videos repeatedly with 4G signal on and screen brightness at MAX until i had 10% battery left so that the low battery indictator would come on.
the battery and cpu didnt really get hot at all during the +4hours of continuous video playing. when i checked the temperature after hitting 10% my phone read it at 54'C
i had my korean show on repeat which is about 1 hour and 3 mins long
KEEP IN MIND THAT THE 4G SIGNAL IS THE BIGGEST BATTERY DRAINER
these are my reports:
Anker 1900mAh lasted 3 hours 10 mins
Mugen Evo3d 1950mAh lasted 3 hours 19 mins
HTC AMAZE 1730mAh lasted 4 hours 12 mins
from all my searching i have done on HTC and aftermarket batteries. I decided to stick with an OEM battery because HTC is just about ACCURATE when it comes to giving the batteries REAL mAh.
Our sensation batteries are interchangeable with the EVO 3D, SENSATION XE, and the AMAZE. All these batteries are 1730mAh with the exception of the EVO 3D and AMAZE being at 3.8v instead of 3.7 like the Sensation's stock battery.
I decided to get the AMAZE battery since it was the newest TMOBILE phone out so i ordered mines last week for $34.99 from tmobiles website.
im VERY happy with the results from the AMAZE battery.!
i use system tuner pro and i run my phone at screen on 1.18GHz/192MHz with ONDEMAND GOVERNOR
screen off at 192MHz
i UNDERVOLTED my phone by 100. to anyone that is curious, this is how I have my voltage settings.
192MHz --------- 812.5mV
310MHz --------- 800mV
384MHz --------- 800mV
432MHz --------- 800mV
486MHz --------- 800mV
540MHz --------- 812.5mV
576MHz --------- 825mV
648MHz --------- 837.5mV
702MHz --------- 862.5mV
768MHz --------- 887.5mV
810MHz --------- 900mV
864MHz --------- 925mV
918MHz --------- 925mV
960MHz --------- 925mV
1.02GHz --------- 937.5mV
1.15GHz --------- 950mV
1.18GHz --------- 962.5mV
i have 192MHz at 812.5mV because that was the default setting on system tuner pro. People have complained about having black screens and such and so they increased voltage from between 825mV-850mV @192MHz and after that they said the problem went away. I have not had that problem so i decided to leave alone the voltage at 192MHz.

I concur, I get roughly 15% more battery life out of the Anker compared to the stock HTC battery. I get good battery life out of my stock battery though!
If you read back earlier on the main Anker thread you'll find that in tests done by members here the Anker 1900's hold on average 1730mAh, which is close to the 15% improvement I saw when I switched from stock to Anker. Anyone seeing 'massive' improvements over stock probably had a dud stock battery.
Cheers

The anker battery has been good to me. Easily 8 hours on extreme use and background music playback on most of the time.
I've got the Sensation XE with 1730 battery. I've got the Anker on order. Would you guys advise me to cancel the order. The only reason I want the Anker is for longer battery life.
I heard that they are about the same.

[Q] anker battery?

hey guys. After having the sensation for about three months i got pretty much sick and tired of the battery life and so i searched up and found an anker 1900 mah battery, do you guys think that it is actually worth buying it? I also heard from a friend that it reduces the overheating issue that the phone has, can anybody confirm this to be true?
Try to look around.... Anker battery topic has a lot of replies... You just need to open sensation accessories... Because battery is accessory....
Go on try, open... Its right there on the first page....

It's really work for me, but it's actually about 1830-1850 mah not 1900 mah as it state on a label.
Picked one up off Ebay and it's great. I can go a few extra hours compared to stock battery. Worth it for me.
so far after reading the reviews anker battery has got lots of positive reviews but unfortunately the price of the battery in malaysia is double so i opt for sunglobal 1850mah... http://www.sunglobal.com.my/enlarge.asp?id=93.... so far works fine for me for around 15 to 25 hours..
This is an interesting topic for me too. There are several brands offering batteries with extended capacity. Do you think that they are all the same, or Anker is the best?
Will rreplacig my stock sensation battery for the anker 1900 one reduce overheating

No. The battery is only part of the issue, your processor generates more heat.
For those thinking the Anker solves temperature issues, it doesn't have a temperature sensor included so always reports 25c no matter how hot or cold it gets.
Anker is 1900 mAh, and I saw another aftermarket batt on eBay listing 2450 mAh capacity.
Its easy to print a label with a higher capacity rating, so my question is has anyone tried it - feedback?
I got 2 Anker 1900 mAh batteries with external usb/plug recharger, I just swap them when one is discharged.
Now my phone works a lot longer but the greatest difference occoured when I stopped using Superpower app with it's 2G/3G switching scripts (2G preferred) and turn on airplane mode in the night when I sleep.
Now my phone works even 3 days when is lighlty used.
My Anker battery offered a great improvement at first, however six months down the line I'm not so sure its lasting as long as it used to - can't say I'm using my phone any more than I was, but I always seem to be in power saving mode now before I stick it on charge at the end of the day. Hopefully in another six months it won't have gotten any worse!

Mugen Power 1600mAh Extended Battery for For HTC Desire

Comments of Mugen Power Batteries from Facebook user Val Komissarov
Hey, Mugen. I just installed your 1600 mAh battery for HTC Desire (properly charged for circa 9 hrs) on my HTC Desire running an Oxygen-based AOSP ROM (Android 2.3.7) and had two phone shutdowns when the battery charge was between 90 and 80 percent. That's something that never happened to me before while I'd been using native HTC battery. The ROM itself is extremely reliable and battery efficient. Any clues on that?
on the other hand, after 2.5 weeks of usage I must express my dissatisfaction with the product: the battery hardly lasts as long as the original HTC battery. I did everything per instruction, my ROM and usage patterns remain unchanged, so it's got to be the Mugen battery.

Could just be a faulty battery. Cant damn an entire product for one bad apple. I work in RMA's and see it all the time. "your product is supposed to last xxx times, it didnt even work once, false advertising!!!" My reply, bad units happen no matter what you buy. My other notice is, that is for the desire, not the desire HD. two different phones and two different batteries. Mugen only sells a 1500mah for desirehd/inspire.

Really? Ok, then I probably almost gonna buy a wrong one.
Thanks either!
There's a thread floating around somewhere which explains why the Mugen and similar high capacity batteries are no better than the standard HTC one.
The HTC branded battery can use ~90% of its capacity whereas other only use ~80%.
I don't recall the exact numbers but it works out that, although the capacity is lower, more of it is usable.
Or they are the exact same and Mugen is just rebranding it.
So u r saying it does not worth buying? Either does not have any chang, or it is so minor that it is pointless?
1500 mah akku :good:

Buy it if it's cheaper than genuine HTC batteries, but don't pay more than genuine HTC battery prices, because they are all the same capacity.
Yeah I saw on their website, only 1500 mamph Desire HD batts
To be honest, I have tried some batteries and have ended up coming back to original HTC batttery because they all have similar response and don´t want the battery to melt inside my phone and fck both, the battery and phone.

I did not have a good mugen experience either, it did not had shutdown but the battery charge never last as long as advertized... And I did try every single mod or tweak in the forum, for me it was just like a regular htc battery.
So there is no point in a battery upgrade on Desire HD?
I got one of those 2450 mah (supposedly) batteries and much to my complete lack of surprise it was only 1230 mah.
It was only $8 so I thought I'd give it a try. But at least I have a spare battery that's a little better than the 1 3/4 year-old HTC battery I was using before.
Is there any differences with cost between original battery and mugen? Mugen seems a little expensive for me and plus, cargo price. Or Is it really worth to buy Mugen?
I've been using my phone for over 2 years now and battery lasts 12 hours aprox. ..so i'm considering either a new battery or that powerskin thingy..what do you guys suggest?

Htc desire bravo Jellybean 2000mamp battery problem
Hello I have second hand desire bravo running jellybean, the battery is 2000miliamp but after a full charge and then I turn off phone, the next morning it's down to 84%. Is there any reason for this other than maybe the battery being faulty?
Is there some software that will solve this, I had read something about the kernel of the phone having some effect on this.
As it is a get about a day out of battery.

Thats normal if youre able to get a day of usage of your battery.
I bought a 2500mAh battery on eBay. Same size as stock, but it does not last much longer (~15% longer?) than the stock battery I had. I got the device lasting longer by installing the MildWild (based on Redux2) custom ROM. This ROM gives approximately an 80% increase of battery life (almost an additional day).

Anker Battery Screwover?!!

Hey,

this is the ebay listing for the battery

Maybe its an fake one but the seller has 92.6% positive feedback on ebay so i doubt he is fake.
There is a mini chance it is misfabricated like damage to the cells, do you still have the warranty card so you can send it back?

Also the reason why battery will stay at 100% for long time during discharge. Early attempts in changing the hardcoded value in kernel was made.. But they caused bootloop so dev(s) abandoned it. Anyways sorry to blew the whistle but anker batteries turned out to have 1750mah instead of 1900 mah. But still people use it as it's better than stock

I bought mine from eBay too and seems original. It's probably an app issue. Mine shows 1520mah when fully charged.

All product from Anker have the same trick. They lies about the Capacity. There is nothing to do with this ebay seller.

Did you measure it?
I don't know if it isn't 1900mah, but I know that it lasts a lot more than many users with stock battery. Mine's already 7 months old and I think it's a bit worse than when I bought it. But in my first cycle of ViperS 3.1.0 rom it lasted 1 day and 5 hours screen time.

most of Anker's batteries do have a common problem which is that the capacity of energy is not as what they guaranteed when several friends of mine bought it. for example, one of my college bought an Anker battery last week with the capacity of 5600mAh. they told her it can do 3times of charge to her iphone4s, which never happens. only one and a half time maybe.. so i lent to her my external battery of RAVPower bought in amazon.es, she said it was fantastic and really nice with the real capacity that the seller guaranteed and the cool shape, now she took away mine:crying::crying:.....

SPAM DAT THANKS BUTTON?
An app cant tell you the capacity of your battery, that's not how a battery works. if you really wanna know the exact capacity, you'll have to do it a different way:
http://denishennessy.com/2012/04/08/measuring-battery-capacity-with-an-arduino/
someone did a similar test (but without arduino, he did it "manual" with multimeters and some other tools) with different smartphone-batteries but i cant find the link....

There's no way an anker will last this long. I have an xe, and my 1730mah lasts 10-12hrs max screen off
Happy to help.

This had me confused. Though why would anker perform so much better than xe stock, considering they have nearly equal charge (1730 mAh)?

Funny, most of the RAVPower employees with 2 posts in this forum like to trash talk about competitors like Anker to mislead other forum members
