New Mainboard HTC One S - HTC One S

Hello together,
someone here know's where i can get a new mainboard for my One S. The SimSlot is broken so its much easier to change the complete board.
Some ideas ?
Regards

I had mine replaced and cost me $75 with no warranty. It take a very good soldering skills to do that job. It was working fine for about 3 weeks and then "no sim" started showing back. Just put 3 layers of clear tape on back of sim and pushed in. It works for month now with no more problems. I know that is no "high tech" and cheap, but did not wanted to spend any more on this phone.

Ah ok ... i got a phone from a friend and see that two of six pins in the Sim Slot were broken.
So i will try to put a new slot on it, but if this don't works i need an alternative.

I got mine from ebay for $6, but the installation cost me $75. Not many people will take on that job.

Memory Card And Sim Card Cover Broke.

Hi guys!
I am not that kind of guy who keeps opening the battery cover and memory card cover too often, but this time i had to open it to change the new SD card that i had bought. When i tried pulling the memory card cover, it was not coming out. After giving it a little extra pressure it opened up but to my shock it cracked a little in the middle...damn, how can the cover be so delicate ??? Now my memory card and Sim card cover is cracked right in the middle and might split into 2 anytime and it looks ugly too. My mobile is just 3 months old does this fall under warranty ..? *I really hope it does* If not where can i buy this. I am from India. Thanks
option 1 - http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=inspire+door&_sacat=See-All-Categories
option 2 - beg your provider, as long as you still have it they should replace it. they know the battery door is hard to take off and replace those so why not the other cover.

Thanks for the reply mate. I have already written to them. I might get a replacement soon
Hi,
I would suggest contacting HTC. I broke my cover two times, and called them.
They made a support ticket for me. I uploaded 2 pictures of the covers and got a new one for free within 2 days.
This shouldn't be your fault. HTC made the covers far too tight. I hope this helps.
Edit: I see that you've already contacted your provider and/or htc.

Hey. I broke both my sim and battery cover on my dhd. I stupidly threw them away before contacting htc and they won't replace them without pics. Right now I'm holding my battery in with black tape. I would really appreciate someone sending me photos of their broken ones so I can use them to get mine replaced by htc uk. I hope someone can help.
Sent from my Motorola Startac running Atari 2600 software!
I did exactly the same thing the first day that I got the 'phone, when I took it off to put a the sim' in!
Well i have spare battery and sim covers that i can sell if anyone is interested, Though my sim covers do have the orange logo on it that i've been told can be taken off with some soft water sanding.
If anyone wants one just send me a pm

Broken Sim card holder

Guys, I know someone had this problem before but I could find any resolution so I thought I'd ask if anyone has any ideas.
I bought an inFuse new off ebay. Unlocked it and have used it with Miui for about 4 months. Wonderful phone. Then did a real stupid thing. I inserted a micro Sim in a holder to test it. It worked but on trying to remove it the Sim slipped out of the holder and the holder must have pulled out one or more of the pins under the metal sheath. Now all I get is No Sim Inserted. I bent back the pins that were bent at the front and I can see 3 which now look OK. The back ones seem to show only one. I'm guessing there should be three.
I checked on line and eBay to see if it is possible to get a replacement module but seems like no. Also every Samsung phone seems to use a different module.
I'm screwed I guess. Anyone had this problem and solved it? Obviously I never bought it through AT&T so I can't try for a warranty repair. Any ideas gratefully accepted.
Thanks
looks like you will be doing sugery get your tools out and a magnifying glass!!
I had the same issue, and carefully bent the pins up like --/ then pushed my sim against the pins and into the holder so that it bent them back and made good contact with my sim. This held for a while until I tried to put a different sim in and then it no longer was making good contact. Jammed a tiny piece of paper behind my sim and it held until my replacement came in.
Hope that helps!
Also if anyone ever needs to do a warranty replacement on this issue I suggest you skip all the bull**** about the sim and tell them the damn thing wont boot. I went through so many ATT warranty morons and they always blame the sim card before defaulting to "its damaged and we cant cover it". Brick it!
Did u register the phone on Samsung.com ? It happen to me also that same stupid thing so I send it back to samsung and they fix it for free of course I was whit out a phone for like 2 weeks since I didn't have a back up phone lol
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
Do any of the other Samsung phones have this issue?
Guys, thanks for the replys. Yea back to samsung seems to be the only answer. I didn't rgister it but Ill try to do it now.
Not sure if other Samsung phones have this problem. I've looked at a bunch of replacement sim holders for other Samsungs and they all seem to be a better construction. The metal cover is much smaller and shows both rows of contacts. Also the pins look sturdier and look like it would be darn hard for them to get "picked up" but the sim adapter. The sim holder in the inFuse looks like a pretty poor design.
Did you buy it new? If you got it used maybe att will still swap it out. The warranty transfers.
Guys,
just an update on the broken sim card holder. Well unlike most other Samsung phones, the simcard holder is not a separate component on the infuse. Had the infuse been a Galaxy S etc then 10 bucks for a new bit and bingo, we are away. The infuse has everything surface mounted to one motherboard. In the end I bought a broken screen infuse and just did a heart transplant. I was traveling overseas when I bust the card holder and Samsung in 2 countries couldn't fix it because they didn't have the bits as the phone wasn't sold in those countries. In the end rather than return the phone to Samsung in the US and "lose" it for Lord knows how long I just bought a scrapper off ebay. Took me about 30 minutes to do the swop and unlock the new board.
Working like a dream again and I must say I missed it........
Happened to me a while back and I made a thread on it. was able to just swap it out at a warranty center

Replacing LCD+digitizer

About to replace my LCD and digitizer after an accident that has left my phone useless
I found a guide online and the items needed.
any heads up or pointers I should know about before doing this?
I hope you have insurance... First time I tried to open something electronic up, I cracked the screen! (ipod) be careful man
Sorry to hear man, but before you do anything you aren't really comfortable with I would suggest looking at some local cell phone repair shops. My brother cracked his LG G2x and the price for the digitizer was abour $75. We searched on yelp.com and called around and found a great shop that would repair it for $95 within two hours. Some places were charging well over $100 and would take at least 5 days to repair.
In the end though my brother was extremely happy with the experience and once he got his phone fixed he flashed a new ICS rom and it was literally a brand new phone! Good luck though my friend.
I cannot stress it enough, get an HTC digitizer! I bought a $30 one off of amazon and it gave up after a month. Get a cell phone tool kit and plenty of the two sided tape, just in case the screen needs to be redone. It's not hard to do, it just requires some time and a little patience. You'll do fine.

It's not that I don't feel comfortable with it, just never attempted it. I've done small electronics repair before though so i'm sure this will be fine.
Also thanks,
I'll let you guys know how it goes.
I'm replacing my wife's digitizer soon but I got a cheap one off eBay. Hopefully it doesn't have issues. It comes with a kit including the tools needed. Supposedly.
phone wont work after replacing the screen.
any ideas y it wont work,
The phone won't boot up at all? or is the touch screen not working?
Make sure all the ribbon cables are properly connected and are not broken. If not, you might have gotten a defective screen replacement.
RE:
Hi,
I replaced my digitizer.
To anybody who will do this in future, when you put the new digitizer in place, make sure that no dust or other things get under the glass.

[Q] Broken sim card reader on my Infuse (visibly broken)

Hello.
I purchased a brand new Infuse from At&t when it came out, upgraded to a Note 2 and sold the Infuse on ebay. Then after a few days the buyer opened a claim saying it didn't read the sim card and I was forced to accept a return. When I got the cellphone back I noticed the metal plate on top of the reader was damaged and also 3 of the 6 little pins were missing (the far back ones). I suppose he damaged the reader by inserting a micro-sim adapter. By the way his ebay username is dwanderson1 BEWARE!
Anyway... now thanks to stupid ebay (and the motherf****r who broke it) i'm stuck with an expensive kind of "Galaxy player". This happened a week before moving overseas. Now I live in Lima-Peru and I have no idea where to get it fixed as I either find some sketchy repair centers or very modern expensive ones. Is the reader easy to replace? any suggestions?
Many thanks

Busted sim card reader. Easy to repair?

Yes, my bad. Tried to use a Sim card adapter. Bended one of the pins. Can't be bent back.
So, took it to a local repair place. He said phone is too new for parts. However, I found this on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/161383619280?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649
Do you guys think it is an easy repair. No, it is not under warranty because I bought it off Ebay.
Thanks in advance.
NOTE: Please don't use a sim card adapter. You are just risking destroying the sim card holder.
I never use a Sim adapter for this reason. The worst you could do is buy it and have it not work. It's worth a shot to get your phone working again. Why would you want a nano Sim? It won't support mobile wallets from what I remember and the Death Star isn't very helpful when it comes to fixing issues.

He probably came from a phone that took the nano previously like an ijunk or a HTC M8 and didn't want the hassle of switching out the SIM. Google wallet works with that SIM cause it worked on the M8 for me when I had it.
If you can't get It replaced I'm sure Josh at mobiletechvideos.com can do it. Just throwing out that option.

That's possible, I know Isis is very picky about what sim it has from what I've seen. I know most carriers give you a new Sim for free so that's always an option. I understand not wanting to change it for various reasons.

Done, working well again
Well, the repair guy soldered a new sim card holder. However, it still does not recognize sim cards. He checked the connections and there is conductivity. He also inserted an external SD card and the phone recognizes it. It just does not recognize sim cards.
Before I sell it for parts, does anyone has any ideas? Thanks.
What brand adapter did you use. I have a noosy because I'm coming from an M8.

Sorry for the bump, just messed up my sim card reader using an adapter. I bought a replacement sim card reader on ebay but was wondering what soldering tools I would need to do this. I don't have any repair shops around me so I'm attempting to do this manually.
I got my lg g3 as a giveaway in ny and d same thing happened to me. I sent the phone to LG but they sent it back saying that its unrepairable. I purchase d sim tray from lg and had a local repair shop put it in in 30 minutes. My phone works perfect. Are u in NY?

How much did it cost to get repaired?
same thing happened to my G3. Sent it directly to LG and they put in a new sim part. Not covered by warranty. It was worth it.
Thank you so much for letting us know about this. Currently I have an adapter from China coming lol. Only. 80 cents. $150 for shipping lol jk. Is it possible for the people that used one didn't do it softly or properly?
Sent from my LG-D850 using XDA Free mobile app
This already happened to me on my last G3, and the repair was a #@$. I ended soldering some old iPhone 3G pins over the LG G3 busted ones. And the phone works fine.
When this happened to me there weren't spare parts yet for the G3. And seeing the pins you had to solder on the spare part, i must say its going to be a hard work. I will recommend taking it to a person with high level soldering skills. Cause you can easily damage your motherboard.
Also, this happened to me due to a SIM adapter (NanoSIM 4FF to MicroSIM 3FF), you can tear those pins real easily. Since i travel from US to Mexico a lot, im constantly changing SIM cards. So i had to replace my SIMs to a MicroSIM 3FF size.

How long did it take LG to repair your phone and for you to get it back roughly? Also wondering how much it costed you being that it was out of warranty. I have two broken prongs on my Sim reader and am looking to get it fixed asap! Thanks.

It was about a 7-10 days. I made arrangements directly with LG-USA, via their 800 number, which was provided to me back in early Aug. I'd provide the number, but it has been displaced in an office move.
