If you use MS OneNote, you would NOT want to take the latest update. And if you did update, you'd want to revert back to the older version.
MS is not supporting physical keyboards in their latest release of MS OneNote. It makes no sense and personally I may soon change over to Google Keep for my note taking needs.
You can read this MS Office Community thread for further details.

Just a heads up.
I've attached the OneNote APK for v14.0.5602.3000.
Well that really sucks. Thanks for that update. I've started to transition to google now as its one less account I have to remember.

Google now allows note taking? Or do you mean Google Keep?
MS replied in that Answers thread today. They say they're working to get hardware keyboards working. But I'm still not sure I'll go back. I'm on Springpad now and it's fine for me.

No was just referring to it as switching to google now... not the Google Now app.
Only reason I didn't move to Google Keep, is that Springpad offers more text formatting options.
If Google Keep at least offered bold text, I would have probably gone with Google Keep.
Maybe keyboard support is one of those things they'll give you with the worthless but pricey office subscription.
I really love onenote, but I really hate Microsoft.

Perhaps.
It has been well over a week and they still have not fixed an issue that we don't have with any other app. They claim in their forum they know about the issue and plan to fix it. But the fact they released and noted hardware keyboards won't be supported, makes me feel uneasy. It seems really shady to me. And I'm glad I moved over to using Spingpad instead.
It's Microsoft, it took them 22 years to fix the 0-day problem.
You did not seriously expect them to fix anything within a year, I hope.

MS just released a OneNote update today. But the update does NOT resolve the hardware keyboard issue. And the app description still notes, that Hardware keyboards are not supported.
I still had OneNote installed on my phone, just in case MS came with a swift update. Which might make me consider going through the trouble of going from Springpad back to OneNote. But I'm done with OneNote now. I've uninstalled from my phone and been happily using Springpad for weeks now.
In my opinion, the change was deliberate. Perhaps we'll find out why when the other shoe drops regarding their mention of:
Now available for free for a limited time

Hey thank you for the APK post. I just updated to the latest onenote on my Transformer TF101 this morning and was freaked out by the missing keyboard capability. Your version works great and I don't see a drastic loss in features from that version to the current.
I'm actually thankful that Microsoft did something like this...I was stuck between OneNote and Evernote and this update was the tipping point.

Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I thank Microsoft for breaking OneNote, there's now an update that's supposed to fix the hardware keyboard issue.

Now I guess I'll temporarily migrate back to OneNote. There's a few improvements I want to see added to Springpad. But I suspect, by the time MS starts charging for OneNote, Springpad or Google Keep will be to a point I'm happier with than their present forms. (The OneNote description says it's free for a "limited time".)

I have a really stupid question Is onenote on android not capable of handling handwriting or drawing? It's a completely different beast on a Microsoft Surface???? It feels like onenote 0.01 on android.....

Correct, it cannot do handwriting or drawing on Android. They'd like to think we need OneNote so much we'd switch for such features .
I have not gotten around to trying to port my notes from Spingpad back to OneNote, and I'm not sure I ever will . If Google Keep would let me make BOLD text, I might give it a try.

Has anyone else noticed how poor the Microsoft app is?
1. It doesn't seem to pick up any notifications anymore (when first released it worked)
2. It only shows you the last comment made. What about any previous ones?
3. Only being updated with the 10-15 most recent updates isn't enough...
I find it easier and more relible as mobileweb page rather than the app... Much more reliable!
Anyone else annoyed with the lack of progress in Microsoft development?!
That app was never as good as the mobile site.

If you haven't already tried it, go to iphone.facebook.com on the Iris browser. That's the best mobile facebook experience right now IMHO. That new Dorothy browser might work well also, being that its webkit based, but I'm a QVGA kind of guy right now and I get no love from them
Yeah, it kind of sucks as far as I can tell. I like using the Skyfire home feed better. One thing it is great for, though, is uploading videos. The HTC album only lets you upload pics to facebook and vids to youtube.

Get a move on WM
the facebook panel for x1's is a lot! better then ms's facebook apps
but still the best facebook app I've used is the ipod touch/ iphone app :S
Is that facebook app still on the 1.0.0.7 version? My god what a horrible excuse of an app that was.

Yeah it is/was 1.0.0.7 and I agree it's vary poor!
And that was released ages ago, still with no updates!
Come on Microsoft, pick up those ever dragging feet!!!
agreed...
microsoft should focus on peoples needs, not just focus on people wants
everyone wants their pda to work like iphone interface
Anyone have any contacts in Microsoft?
it's incredible that this app is lagging so far behind the iphone one (yes I have an iphone and the facebok app is outstanding...shame about the rest of the phone).
I don't use facebook a lot, but millions of people do and for MS not to have a decent app is perhaps one of the reasons they lose market share to apple.

I'm planing to buy TF soon, and I can't wait to get it
I'm intrested in one thing I couldn't find anywhere: can i view 2 programs in the same time? Just like in windows. For example on the left side of screen I can write office doc, and on the right side I can PDF files?
No.........................................
But why hasn't anyone thought of doing this? this would be an awesome feature, and we have the real estate to work with in tablet land. Android limitations that can't be overcome even with root access?
Yes.. so if you want to copy something from pdf to your doc, you must constantly switch programs, it is a bit harder but I think google, or someone else would add this feature soon..

There's an app called OnSkreen which will be implemented directly into OEM rom's which will allow for multi window running of applications. Check out their YouTube videos. Cool stuff, but you'll basically have to buy a tablet with it on there from the start (none exist at the moment).

It's not an APP, it's a special ROM that the company will sell to manufacturers - you can't just install it to your device. The beta will "hopefully" offer this rom to certain devices, but there's no guarantee that our Transformers will get it.

Is there any developer out there that have plans for making such an app for the phones as well?
I think that he/she would get donations from a lot of people if they started working on it. There are many programs that do not embed a widget option and if someone could make a widget that could scale down programs an ie put to running programs on the screen in vertical mode that would be soooooo niiiiiiice!! On my Galxy SII such an app would be perfect...
Anyone?
M
The thing is its not really an app but, like stated, a heavily customized OS. It goes back to how these mobile OS'es were devised. Its not windowed because they are assuming you are on a system that wouldn't perform well with multiple active apps and on a small screen where you would need all of the real estate.
There are times when I would wish for it but since apps are cached and not killed (if they are developed properly) its pretty easy to "alt-tab" back and forth between them when needed.

Cant wait to try this on TF, if it ever gets to platform.
Just wondering if anyone else is using the Facebook app and experiencing it to be painfully slow? Not sure if it is network elated, but have a 4MB ADSL line so I am leaning toward the app on the pad running slow... takes ages to populate when scrolling down content. I have the latest .22 software

The facebook app is slow period, not just slow on the TF700. Try a different facebook client. I recommend Friendcaster as its tablet optimized.
Facebook just s***s.
It is slow on any device I have seen, including the newest iPhone.
I only have it installed to sync the contacts for contact pictures and some of the contact data.

i don't use facebook not because i don't like it but because i don't use social network sites. i actually have a facebook account but i log in like once every 2 months lol. when i log in i just look around to see what my friends are doing, i never post anything. but if i do use social network sites someday i'd prefer facebook at my first choice, i think google plus just sucks and nobody uses it
btw, you seem to prepare all the necessary accessories for your tablet. but do you really need a screen protector for it since it has gorilla glass 2? i saw some demos that explain how strong that glass is.

It is very strong, and scratch resistant, but no glass is scratch proof, and having it on there also give it an extra layer of cushion if dropped. I mean, you might be just fine and never have a drop or scratch, but why take the chance on this very expensive device? I've always been overly protective with my stuff, but it's paid off because it lasts me, and when I go to sell any of it I get top dollar.

Can't this be done in a PM rather than going off topic in this thread?
I've also noticed that the Facebook app performs very poorly on the Infinity. I had one random reboot of the device while using Facebook. Many times the images/pages just don't load and you are left with an all black/white screen. Screen rotation really seems to make the app freak out too. It is one of the worst apps out there. I will look into Friendcaster, thanks.
I've really enjoyed how smooth and rich the content in Google+ is on the tablet. Plus it is so much easier for me to manage my photos compared to Facebook.
One of the first things I noticed with my new TF700 compared to my old TF201 was how much faster the I/O was. The reaction of the screen and all other actions were just quicker. This includes the official FaceBook app. Is this the perfect tablet with no occasional slow-downs? Hell no! Is it a lot better than anything else I've used? Hell yes!
I do look forward to the slathering of butter to come with Jelly Bean as I have seen announced. I'm hoping that will clear up the few annoyances I've noticed in this otherwise good working tablet.
Bye.
I've been playing with the Surface for about 2 weeks now and I found the lack of apps really doesn't bother me that much honestly... But I was wondering what are some apps you guys can't live without? Also, does anyone know what the time frame is for the BlueStacks app to come out?

Netflix and YouTube RT,a must for me.As for the app you mentioned i have know idea.
Not on RT ever, unless MS changes the restrictions.
See here:
https://getsatisfaction.com/bstk/topics/windows_rt_support
They are considering supporting RT next year, I think if enough people ask it they will have to implement it. Microsoft surely isn't stupid enough to block it either.
My advice is sign up on their forums and keep asking about windows RT, I have.

Actually not true - They have it listed on their Website as in the works as a supported OS. I have tweeted them for an update awhile back but never got a response.

Yea, you definitely should go on their Site cause it says they are looking to do it.. Just no timetable.. I knew that much, just curious if anyone else had any idea when.

I heard Q1 2013 but then I was told it would be ready for launch and that didn't pan out.
Since I need a fully functional windows 8 not RT I'm leaving. I would buy the Surface Pro yet its to high-priced for me. I am going for the Acer Aspire V5 Touch. Looks like I'm gonna have to start saving again. My cousin has bought my Surface for $600. Still a good price for a used one and no scratches on it either. So goodbye!

My expereince is different - I have never had a crash on my Surface but I have kept it pretty stock except for adding flash websi I actually am pretty happy with the browser as far as accessing work sites and being able to actually get my work done (I am an insurance broker).
Have you modiefed anything on it - registry hacks etc - Seems to me the people who are complainign about crashes are in there making changes .
Don't read this the wrong way - I am all for tweaking (This is XDA after all) but not sure about it until the OS has been out a bit and MS has had a chance to optimize it.
This didn't last long
