Welcome to SentinelROM for HTC One - M7UL. Compiled with the Linaro toolchain from modded CM11 source. Android 4.4.
This is one of the most popular ROMs for Nexus 10, Nexus 7, Nexus 4,HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy SII, Samsung Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note 2, and after weeks of hard work and optimisation, I am happy to release it for HTC One - M7UL
This ROM is compiled from CyanogenMod 11 with all the features you get in a CM11 ROM, plus the following features.
Zip Aligned
Compiled from latest CyanogenMod 11 source by me, not a 'cooked ROM'.
Increased volume (not quiet like most CM based ROMs)
LMT Pie Controls
Improved Web Browsing performance
Improved 3D gaming performance
Amazing battery life
Additional theming and UI customisation
FAST support via this page and our Facebook Page
________________________
This ROM has been built to enhance the CyanogenMod 11 experience, with faster gaming and web browsing performance (no choppyness in Chrome too!) and best of all, extreme battery life.
Countless hours have been spent making tweaks to settings to squeeze the most performance I can find out of this ROM while still providing excellent battery life and without the dangers of overclocking and kernel level tweaking.
I compile this ROM and Kernel from the latest CyanogenMod source code, add my various tweaks and adjustments, then test for stability, so you get all the benefits of CyanogenMod 11, plus my tweaks and extras, all without the instability and inconvenience of flashing CyanogenMod nightlies (which are not designed specifically for the HTC One like my ROM is.

If installing for the first time:
To install this ROM you will need to have an unlocked bootloader and a custom Recovery such as TWRP or ClockWorkMod installed (personally I recommend TWRP, I have had issues with restoring backups using CWM).
Copy the downloaded SentinelROM zip to your Internal Storage.
Boot into your custom recovery
Back up your stock ROM
Enter custom recovery
Factory Reset and wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
Format System Partition
Install the ROM
Install CM11 GAPPS package
Reboot. First boot can take up to 5 minutes.
Note: If you are coming from another ROM and have root access, you can back up your user apps and data using Titanium and restore them once you have flashed my ROM. Just be sure to only restore user apps and data, and no system ones as you may break things.
You may flash other kernels as you wish via recovery. Remember to also flash the correct libraries for any 3rd party kernels. Instructions will be given by the Kernel author.
________________________
The following mods are developed by 3rd parties and have been tested by SentinelROM Users.
No mods yet. I'll add them here as they become available.
________________________
Thanks very much to all those who have answered my questions through the process of creating my own ROM, you know who you are.
CyanogenMod for their outstanding work. Full credit to them for the bulk of this ROM.
OTA-UpdateCenter.pro for their OTA database support and OTA Updater app source.
Special thanks to domineus for assistance with Beta testing the ROM.

My Wi-Fi is working just fine, you might need to flush the NAT table in your router. The Router might be confused if it sees a different device with the same MAC address.

Thank you sir. Missed that! Now we good!

Awesome work! Watched the video and it looks really smooth so far. Will wait a bit before testing since I'm using IR.

Edit: seems like I'm stuck in a bootloop. Also without flashing gapps. Did a system wipe from cm10.1 coming.
Bootloop occurs when most things have already been initialized.(softkeys are lit and charging led is also on but the cm bootlogo completes a few cycles flashes brighter and starts again.)
unfortunately i haven't got adb set up on my pc so I can't tell you what's wrong...
will try a dirty flash and report back
Edit2: Dirty flash didn't work either.
Maybe somebody with this issue could post a log. Would certainly be highly appreciated.

Regards.
So anyone could make it boot? I had no success with neither TWRP nor CWM recovery.
And found out something; formating the /preload from CWM causes new ROM (any Custom ROM) to skip the SIM card info and not ask for PIN code.
I guess there is no need to format everything possible for a clean flash

OK, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I had the latest stock TMOUS ROM on my HTC One S, HBOOT of 2.15 but *NOT* S-OFF. I rooted it and unlocked the bootloader some time ago. Today I updated TWRP to 2.8.6.0 and tried installing this 5.1 LP ROM. I did a full factory reset BEFORE I installed the ROM.
After ROM install, the phone reboots and then...black screen. Nothing. I tried other 5.02 and 5.1 ROMS and all gave the exact same results.
What am I doing wrong? The ROM pre-requisites don't say I have to be S-OFF. I'm using the HBOOT 2.15 version instead of the 2.16 version. I don't get it.

No ROM has S-Off as a prerequisite (only some Sense based ROM that needs a different firmware) ...but if you're S-On you MUST flash the ROM kernel separately in fastboot mode after or before you flash the ROM in recovery. There are plenty of posts describing the procedure

SAOSP, Euforia, Slim...all have a RRO branch or can be built with RRO since I've seen on G+ that there are such builds. Slim has only RRO but that it's built by mikronac.ns.
The point is that RRO doesn't use memory as Theme Engine does and it's more stable. Performance of such ROM should be better.
There is also the BitSyko community where are detailed instructions and commits that are needed to build a ROM with Layer 2 or 3 support. There are like 2 or 3 commits only to be cherry picked
EDIT: BitSyko G+ community is HERE and they have links for everything one would need to build a ROM with Layers support. Latest version is Layers 2

CyanogenMod (pronounced /saɪ.'æn.oʊ.dʒɛn.mɒd/) is an enhanced open source firmware distribution for smartphones and tablet computers based on the Android mobile operating system. It offers features and options not found in the official firmware distributed by vendors of these devices.
Features supported by CyanogenMod include native theming support, FLAC audio codec support, a large Access Point Name list, an OpenVPN client, an enhanced reboot menu, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB tethering, CPU overclocking and other performance enhancements, soft buttons and other "tablet tweaks", toggles in the notification pull-down (such as wi-fi, Bluetooth and GPS), app permissions management, as well as other interface enhancements. CyanogenMod does not contain spyware or bloatware. In many cases, CyanogenMod may increase performance and reliability compared with official firmware releases.
CyanogenMod is developed as free and open source software based on the official releases of Android by Google, with added original and third-party code.

This is a fresh(er than the rest) CyanogenMod 11 build for the pico by me. The ROM is smooth and relatively bug free, perfect to be used as a day to day usage stable OS.
I will be maintaining 4 different release channels for this ROM. Two stable channels - one each for CM11 and CM11S, And two beta testing channels with the same layout. Beta testing channels will see more updates but can be relatively buggy and unstable as compared to the stable releases.
As the first upload, Here is the CM11-stable-release1.zip
the stable CM11S build will roll out as soon as I'm able to fix constant FCs with some apps included exclusively on the CM11S release.
Features:
1. Slimmed down version for ample space in /system for Gapps
2. Init.d support
3. Theme Engine
4. Customizable QS Panel
5. Heads up Notifications
6. Compatible with Xposed
7. Rooted with SuperSU (v 2.49)
8. Caller ID bug from @kirmaniarslan's CM11 builds fixed
9. Stagefright safe
10. 878 MHz safe OC with no NAND burn risk

Future Releases:
1. AROMA Installer with options given here:
1.1 Option between Arslan's kernel and Current kernel
1.2 Choice between AOSP and Hackers Keyboard
1.3 Choice between AOSP Launcher3, Trebuchet, and possibly Nova Launcher
1.4 Optional Applications - AudioFX, YU Theme, Great Freedom Theme, Baton, Boxer Mail, Themes Showcase
1.5 Sweep2Wake and non-Sweep2Wake kernel options
2. Possibly prepackaged Google Apps. I could use a lawsuit. Really.

I use it with TWRP 2.8.0.0 and it uses the same kernel source as PAC ROM KK RC-3, so it shouldn't have any problem with 2.8.5.0 . Just make sure you do a super clean flash coz the kernel's really really picky about flashing. Actually he's been giving me a lot of attitude lately, so it's up for a change. Maybe I'll just use @abhi_qwerty's kernel which he compiled for PAC ROM.

Well, GApps is still somewhat of a problem. I tried YourZGapps XS and it removed the quick settings toggle from the notification drawer. TK GApps shows a setup wizard that just force closes and does not let me use me anything. I'm hearing Banks GApps is really good, will have to give it a go. I'll let y'all know soon.
P.S. If nothing works, I'll show you all how to manually place files and set perms through a YouTube video over on my channel. That's how I am using it.

Cool. Btw GApps have been uploaded, I'm testing Mini Gapps package now. Would appreciate if you test the other one. And also please post the review, whenever you do it, on the reviews section if possible.

Ok I will try . Although am using my pico as a daily driver and happy to see some development again
I have a question about recovery which recovery you recommend with this ROM
Edit1: btw what are the main difference between your mini gapps and other one (gapps kk)
Edit2: got it about recovery sorry for bothering you

TWRP 2.8.0.0 or higher is required. I did a F2FS compatible version over in the PAC ROM thread you can try that too. About GApps packages, Mini GApps is the newer one.
Mini GApps is a no go guys. Have myself staring at the bootanimation for 20 minutes now. The bootanimation has slowed down though, indicating that something's happening in the background, but other than that, nothing is happening. Will update y'all if there's some change.
Edit:
Both Gapps packages don't work. I'll upload a YouTube video soon.

Commotio B-105
Commotio VS Vanir:
Commotio is DHO's take on Vanir. Different UI, scripts, and often testing new features that may be merged into Vanir.
They are 100% compatible and users can pick their favorite. Commotio can be thought of as bleeding edge testing ground for new features and optimizations which may or may not make their way into Vanir
Donate to: DHO - Team Vanir
Follow on G+: Team Vanir
Commotio + Vanir Features:
- Multiple Devices
- Based on CM13 nightlies
Debloated
- All inclusive ~180 MB –> 60 MB of Bloat removed
- Fully featured LatinIME Keyboard, but only 2.2 MB (normally 16-20 MB), removed tracking/logging
- And soo much more
Butter
- Compiled with linaro keychain.
- Optimized with linaro 4.8
- GCC 4.8 w/ -O3 -fstrict-aliasing AKA highly optimized compiling for better results (like Linaro)
- Vanir.cfg – Set your CPU frequencies, colors, ZRAM, and much more. Set and once and forget; it stays on your SD card
- DHOtheory: Sets up the kernel/ROM the way I like it, then self destructs on first boot, so you can change it later
- Go-faster Axiom scripts
- Vanirice – makes everything just a bit smooth
- For every 1 user settings there are 5 power saving + performance tweaks tweaks
Gapps
- Included. See my Gapps post for further details.

Thread to be updated....
IMPORTANT
Currently SuperSU has issues, so kindly don't flash that and access root by enabling developer options by tapping multiple times on build number in about device and then enabling root access from there.
Thanks for this..will flash later....
Stupid question, but is it rooted? Can't get SuperSU working. Other than that, so far, so good.
Thanks for your work ?

Yeah its rooted. Just turn on the root from inside the developer options.
Vanir and commotio have been running well for flo for some time, but threadless since android L. Thanks for getting the ROM more exposure by creating a thread here.

Yeah thats why I made this thread. I found out about this ROM from someone's comment and its currently the smoothest marshmallow ROM for me and focuses on just performance and battery life and doesn't have a plethora of useless features that I Don't even use. And if you look at the nightlies page you'll see that they build for countless devices and are the first ones to update to newer aosp bases.

No. Its in cyanogen mod. Every cm release from cm12 to 13 has this and all ROMs based on CM have this option. I haven't flashed superuser since Cm12 on any of my devices. I just activate root from here on all of them.
New builds are up for Commotio.

Nice thread . Good thing about these two roms is you can dirty flash them over each other if you get anxious to look at something different for a few days .
New builds of Commotio synced with latest CM changes and Android 6.0.1_r30 are up.
There's going to be lots of commotion when N drops.....
New updated builds for both Commotio and Vanir at the usual mirrors.
Thanks htb...will give it a runout later.
Cheers.
Get your updates. This fixes all the power button and other bugs that had been present in the previous builds.

Do you use latest official / recommended TWRP? Often this error is because of an outdated recovery version...

Thanks for thinking about the Nexus 7 and building a ROM for it.
Does it come with GApps included in the ROM? Hopefully you can list some instructions in the second post for people to follow.
Also, do you mind if I mirror it on my MEGA since AndroidDevHost is sooo sloow with downloads?
I have used crDroid for a few months now but been having some issues with it lately so I was looking for something new to flash.
PS. Yeah there is something wrong with the zip, I have latest TWRP and it doesn't flash.
I think most people are having this issue.

Yes getting that error too coming from another kitkit ROM latest twrp and wiped system cache files, dalvik, data & internal storage (starting fresh this time). I also had system partition mounted. Hopefully this gets fixed soon looking forward to trying this rom.
Im having error 7 as well, have tried different partition schemes, wiped it all, am on latest (3.2.1.0) TWRP and so on...
The non modified slim 9.1 you have based this on works fine.
