Samurai Shodown II (SNK fighting game) released on Google Play - Xperia Play Themes and Apps

Judging by the link the game seems to be ported by DotEmu, who in the past have given great support to the Xperia Play. Hopefully it will be as good as the other SNK releases. Link on picture:

Made a post about it a couple weeks ago.... granted your lists the game as released while mine listed it as coming soon:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320465
Wonder if its possible to merge these two....

Thank you for letting Xperia PLAY users know its not a friendly game or your phone, at this time.
Crossing my fingers it will happen soon, love Samurai Showdown 2

They updated the game today, and updated the description to reveal that they've bugged the game so that it'll auto-FC if we have USB Debugging on.
That's actually quite an outrage to those of us who rely on Link2SD because we'd either have to sacrifice our medium of keeping our phone storage free or get jipped out of a game that honestly is too much of a barebones port to justify the price they ask... Square-Enix caught so much hell for blocking rooted devices that they changed their policy, and you best believe I will be up SNK's asses until they change this. I wanted to have nothing but good to say about this game, and even give it some airtime as Xperia Play Gamer's "Featured Game"... but they're effin' up.
It's already got low scores because of their USB debugging block, and it's already stopping potential purchases. People are returning the game, and I refuse to add it to Xperia Play Gamer's database in this condition... so if they're smart they will make it so that this game operates independently of whether USB debugging is on or not... and soon.

Ill jump on them too. It's ridiculous that they have that restriction in place.
Sent from my R800at using xda premium

If they were smart, they wouldnt have done it in the first place. And why usb debugging?
Sent from my Battle Rifle

So they're trying to pull a Chrono Trigger? Good luck with that SNK, I shall keep my money then.

Heads up, the game has been updated. USB debugging no longer stops the game from working
I'll be changing my review shortly and adding it to the database.

Yaay that's creepin' awesome. Hopethere will be all NPC, crafting and NPC structures! And I hope you can upload your saves from PC to the Pocket Edition.
And we have more info!
http://www.minecraftforum.net/news/346-mojang-lego-collaboration-pocket-edition-info/
Daniel Kaplan recently elaborated on the future of Minecraft - Pocket Edition, amid speculation regarding future updates, fixes and more. He noted that one of the earliest priorities during the release of the iOS version was ensuring the stability of the game, which temporarily suspended updates on the Android version. However, as the last major update for the iOS version prepares to roll out, Daniel has shared that one of the first things they plan to work on is a version of Survival Mode for Pocket Edition. While it will not be a point-for-point carry-over of the desktop Survival Mode - which isn't conducive to a touch-screen environment - he provided the following itinerary for future updates:
A new file system – to make sure we can support items and mobs in the world
Item system – to be able to pick up items
Crafting – This will probably need some iterations since the interface will be customized for the touch devices
Inventory system
Mobs – animals and enemies!
Optimizing rendering code – we are experimenting with caves but need to make it work better before we are able to release it
Clean up of code and overall optimization
Please note that we don’t have any dates set yet. Also, please make sure you update your phone/pods to the latest version of your operating system for best compatability.
I updated my minecraft and now i get error messages down the left side of the screen, can't wait for Survival though, then it'll be unreal

Playstation Mobile announced

The Playstation Suite has been re-branded as Playstation Mobile. Of course any more news is simply speculation but maybe we will finally see some Playstation mini's or even Gaikai support for our Play.

Sorry to have to link to DroidGamers btw
Everyone has known this since E3. Sorry
Ya been reading today's news on it.. not a lot that seems.. you know.. new. Frankly I'm getting tired of hearing about PS Mobile and wanting to see Sony actually fully launch the dumb thing.
At this point I'm half expecting the Play to not even be supported :/

I'm with you there; whats the point of creating a hardware standard and then not utilizing the medium for over a year? I feel like its Gaikai or bust at this point which is unfortunate since my wi-fi sucks balls and keeps me away from Onlive as well.
it's shame to play play-station games by touch the screen !

I suspect it is vaporware at this stage

Because PS are developing the SDK in conjunction with developers, if they didnt have a device to test on, whilst testing the SDK it would be a little pointless.

Because it was the "flagship" phone for this service. It IS a supported phone, they still show it on their website and produce and sell them new. I see no reason they won't support the Play, its not like it will have a hard time playing these mini games and we already know it plays PSOne titles no problem.
Oh well the phone is nice as a gameboy its had its life if they don't release anything else its use as an emulator device will still keep it useful.

None of the articles mention the PLAY, nor do any of the pictures show it. I would be very surprised if this will support the PLAY.
Think about it. No other "playstation certified" device has a physical gamepad or is likely to. It seems very unlikely to me that Sony will require developers spend additional time for just one device with a questionable sales record, and to which a successor is looking increasingly unlikely.
This doesn't bother me too much, seeing as most of the two-bit games showcased look mediocre at best, and I question the likely success of such a programme anyway. See, other than further fragmentation and the proprietary nature of a closed platform, what benefit does a developer have to jump ship to Sony mobile programme and not just focus their efforts on the already established and hugely popular Google Play store?
What does bother me however is the discontinuing of the PSOne classics to coincide with the launch of PS Mobile. Should I be right in assuming us PLAY users won't be invited to the party, discontinuing future updates to something we already have access to is just a further slap in the face...

The Play will work as the PS Certified SDK allows the game to work with a consistent set of controls, screen or physical (basically any PS cert game will always work on the Play). There is no additional programming needed.
Also there is another announcement with a full press release and the Play is included.

HORN - Excellent action/rpg adventure game for iOS, iPad and Android. Need support XP

After the great Alaron HD, Horn arrives.
HORN is a 3rd person action adventure game - a completely unique experience where anyone can fully explore and enjoy a beautiful and engaging console-style world, all controllable by touch gestures.
You play as a young blacksmith's apprentice named Horn who wakes up to find your village and lands over run by large fantastic, and sometimes humorous, monsters. It is revealed these creatures are actually the people and animals from your village transformed by a curse, and you alone have the power to free them. On your incredible adventure you carry the loud-mouthed head of one such fantastic creature with you - a somewhat uncooperative and ill-tempered but grudgingly helpful sidekick. Along with this new companion you must use your sword, crossbow, trusty musical horn, and wits to explore the lands, defeat the enemies, and solve puzzles in your quest to undo the curse that engulfs your homeland.
Horn features:
∗ Accessible controls that anyone can use- walking, jumping, crawling, even grapple hook, are all performed with intuitive gestures
∗ Freely navigable console-quality detailed world- go wherever you want; not confined to limited path or rail
∗ A rich and unique fantasy world
∗ Touch-friendly melee combat and crossbow style weapons
∗ 3 unique and beautiful lands to discover
∗ Endlessly escalating challenge modes
∗ Hidden side content to discover
∗ Score written by award winning Austin Wintory and performed with full live orchestral
Coming to Android for Tegra devices.

Not the date "Horn" come to Android, but if so, we should be asking developers to optimize it for our Xperia Play from now. If you find any information or sending email to get our email, put it in this post.

ME WANT THIS.
Wysyłane z mojego R800i za pomocą Tapatalk 2
No offence, but i doubt this would come to the Xperia play. It uses unreal engine as far as i know and the studios other game, Dark meadows, was only available for tegra devices.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app
Yes, that's possible. But there are games Tegra running perfectly in Xperia Play remember like Samuray II Vengeance, SoulCraft and others games. I have hope that optimize this game, but if you do not optimize your pad to use, perhaps using Chainfire3D...
Works on iPhone4. As AralonHD, which later adapted to Android and works wonders on Xperia Play.
Hopefully more news to see what happens. :fingers-crossed:
Sorry TC it will not get optimized. Nvidia paid big money to make it Tegra exclusive. Same situation with Dark Meadow. The devs could make it for all android devices if they wanted , but they like how closed the Tegra chip is (like iOS) and since Nvidia is giving them money , they feel its the safest for them.
They dont want to work with every type of Android chipset.
Horn isn't tegra exclusive is it? I thought it was just coming first to tegra then later on other android devices?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app
I dont know about Horn exactly , but i really wanted to play Dark Meadows and sent them many emails. They answered and stated that its not that they are "exclusive" its more like its not financially viable for them , as a small company , to support many android chipsets. With Tegra , Nvidia gave them money and the chipset itself is a "safe" investment for them.
For it is a shame, then I will mourn ....
Try running it with Chainfire3D ...
This doesn't even work on my 4th gen iPod Touch, so I highly doubt it'll work on the Xperia Play
Guys look at the grafics and stay realstic. This is way better then dungeon defenders wich was not smooth on the play. If this comes to the play than with dramatic downscaled grafics.
Sent from my MT27i using xda app-developers app
But everything depends on optimizing Android. Recently we have the "Heroes Call" Initially, this action game and RPG appeared on the "Google Play Store" exclusively for mobile phones with more powerful processors (Tegra 2 and 3), but with the promise that they would be available for all other models before the end of the summer. And it seems that its developers have word, because here we have the latest update, suitable for any Android ..
Those are the examples that make me think positively.

N-Gage Emulaor - Request to .EMU developer

I emailed Robert Broglia who is the awesome developer of so many .EMUs on Google PLAY store about a possible N-Gage emulator. I realize the phone was horrible but it did have a few gems, Glimerati, Asphalt (yes the same as we have now), and of course the three reasons to own an N-Gage Ashen, Elder Scrolls Travels: ShadowKey, Requiem of Hell.
Yes, I owned an N-Gage and at the time enjoyed it, but for those games above alone this phone was worth it. If anyone is interested in this possiblity please email Robert at the address below and ak/encourage him with support for this. I think it would be kind of cool to play N-Gage games on our Xperia PLAY seeing as how both phones were touted as gaming phones.. obviously the PLAY is much much better contender for that title then the N-Gage... anyways please contact him if this is something that you would like, you never know what might happen.
And for those who think this is a stupid thread that is your opinion and you are entitled to it same as myself and others are...... but if you dont like this thread keep it clean and on topic in a positive light, I DO NOT want this thread to go down as a "trash the N-Gage" thread. Thank you.

Hey guys - you efforts are nice - but did you ever think about:
- That .EMU dev ist the real developer of the emulators he provides - according to his HP he just ported them to android using his Imagine-Engine.
- Developing an emulator for a single person takes AGES if there is no former work or knowledge on it.
- Did he even answer to your request? Like: "lets see how many people are interested in? Or do you just call up to spam that guy heavy?
- A short google search on an n-gage emu - doesn't bring up much (might be cause the n-gage was a big fail) - at least no former open-sourced emulators (ok I just spent 5min on it - so i might have overlooked one). So even if you spam this guy heavily - he propably can't do it.
I know - you didn't mean it that way - but please be sure to have some conversation with a dev before you call up for a spam session in a big and open forum.

I know - you didn't mean it that way - but please be sure to have some conversation with a dev before you call up for a spam session in a big and open forum.
regards

I have been searching for over a year keeping an eye out for an n-gage emulator with no luck. And as such I decided to contact the Dev for the .EMU series of emulators in hopess that he would be interested in it as a possibility or at the least he may know of someone who may or may not be able to help. When I created this thread it was my intent to get others who would be interested in an emulator as a means of genereating interest and contacting the dev above. I know you probably didnt mean it to sound that way but I do not appreciate the words "spam session" as this is not my intent.
When I think of an idea or find something that I feel others may enjoy I like to share it, this is simply nothing more then an idea in hopes that if contacted with the right individuals would turn into something more. So please be cautious of just slapping "spam session" on something.
Now.... lets turn this back to the thread on topic. If others may find or think of another developer to contact please bring it up. Thank you.
Apparently there WAS an Ngage emulator for Symbian called N-Gage Cool back around 2005, but the developers site and all sites hosting it have long since stopped working. I found one working link to it on an emulator website, lets just say it was a paradise, but it has gotten nothing but terrible reviews and claims of being a virus. Regardless, there is a precedent for a mobile Ngage emulator.

Thats the N-Gage 2.0 where it was a software platform designed to run on different Nokia phones. I had that on my old Nokia N-95 8gb a few years back. What I am referring to is the N-Gage phone from 2003/2004.
Edit: Or did you mean ngageman? The old emu from 2007 for newer nokia/symbian phones?

Beat Hazard on sale.

Couldnt find this in a thread before so thought id post it.

Basically, I bought this game a few years ago on pc when it first appeared and since then it has evolved a lot. Its basically an asteroid clone that uses your own music and the beat and tempo sets the tempo of the game. Fast songs give lots of enemies and lots of bullets. And vice versa for slow songs. If any of you have seen dubwars on Ouya, this is where it got inspiration, or so I say.
Anyway, the game currently isnt "Xperia play optimized" so I emailed the dev to ask if he could make it controller compatible and he said he is trying but having difficulties. I was just wondering if there was anyone on here that could possily give him some info to help as the game really would be something special with touchpad supportand I told him it would open his game to a new market (ie us lol). I understand if noone can but I know nothing about coding for android so am just putting it out there

There is TLRtheory's websiite in which he details how to get the gamepads, game controls to work with any game.

Just direct the developer of the game to that link and tell them to look at the title up top "Developers"... they should be good, I think they can even just copy and paste the info, but I could be wrong. Either way, thank you for the heads up. And here is to crossing outr fingers.
