Desire S get wet and touch is not working - HTC Desire S

Hello,
my phone get little wet. Water didint get inside though. And immediately i pull out the battery
Inside everything was quite dry, I took phone into pieces. (stickers are white)
But after all when I turned it on the touch is not working ;/ I do not know what could go wrong there? Digitizer looks like it is made from one piece and I would thought that it is waterproof, there is nothing to damage? Or I am wrong? Connector is also fine from both sides, and It was completely dry.
Any ideas?
There is a way to get back my contacts from phone now? And maybe some data?

I had same problem, I refresh first recovery and I put not touch, old version of recovery. After I flash rom again, and after recovery touch 4ext and phone was again ok. Try.

You can open the backup images on Linux and search for the files you need

with ext explorer you can open ext images also in windows or if your backup uses tar format you can open it with winrar or 7 zip

Ok phone is working. I changed the touch screen with LCD. You could ask why LCD? Because dissasembling it again I broke it a bit...
and I paid 50 euro for everything, quite expensive comparing to used working phone but... whatever, I am happy that is working now
I am just curious why this oryginal touch is not working? There is no any visible damages and water couldnt go inside.. hmm

Water can get inside very easily. Even if you can't see it, a tiny amount of liquid in the membrane between the two layers can stop it working. I work with EPoS sytems (touch-screen cash registers) and the amount of screens I have to replace because of liquid damage is incredible.

hmm now I am facing with the problem that battery drain is much higher then before (before changing screen+touch). Why it is behave like this?
Maybe I should do some calibration or so after changing those components? But touch i accurate and just fine so I do not think that I should calibrate it.

Sensation 4G doesn't turn on

The phone was in recovery installing a rom, when it dropped and the battery fell out.
Now there's no display at all (pitch black), and the led doesn't light up.
I've already tried taking the battery out, putting it back in, running recovery, trying to run adb commands via the PC and it doesn't work. It says device not found, even after install the android SDK package. I've tried booting without the SD card, and nothing. I get no message when connecting to the PC, I've checked disk management to see if it's there, and nope.
Anyway to fix this?
Hboot? Recovery?
If you can't get into either of those then you may be SOL...

Nada.
I'm currently trying to recharge the battery using an external wall charger.
Sounds more like the drop damaged it than flashing and pulling the battery. Nothing I know of that you can flash that will bust up your hboot. It's like using a Windows 7 installation disk to destroy your BIOS somehow - just doesn't really work that way.
nope i was told to do what he did to kill a phone and send to tmob i think that phone is done i hope you are on tmob 611 is your friend as of now

That's a possibility. The fall was very low though, no more than 2 feet.

Well, you never know. After all, a few XDA Sensations every week seem to stop working completely for absolutely no reason at all.

One thing i can't understand how did your battery fell out while phone being dropped from 2 feet (as you said) were you flashing ROM without Battery cover? as far as i know back cover cannot comes out if phone drops...if it did..than your back cover should have broken as well..our sensation is built this way.

Yeah the back cover was off. I was cleaning some dust out of it. That's why the battery was able to pop out so easily. Anyways, after charging the battery with the outlet charger, it didn't work.

LCD Broken, Need to issue commands to device to access internal memory GN2

Hey guys. SO, I recently dropped my Note II. The screen shattered, but was entirely responsive to touch input and functioned normally (besides shards of glass splintering into my fingers heh) I kept telling myself I would get it fixed "soon" and before I did, it dropped again. This time the screen was not displaying properly and no longer responded to touch except on the notification bar. I pulled the battery and restarted the phone. The screen is no longer lighting up or displaying anything but the phone still boots up as I can hear the startup sounds and flood of incoming text messages.
I previously rooted my phone, left the stock rom on....
Now my intent is to adb into the phone via laptop and usb. and making a "clockwork recovery style image" and then hopefully use an emulator to run the image to extract my data from it. Looking for any guidance or suggestions to get my data back from the device.
If not possible even a backup on the internal drive would be wonderful. Would I be able to make an image of this device and then flash it onto another note 2 to access my saved information?

looks like you broke your digitizer (second time you dropped it), you could just replace the entire lcd and screen instead of a new note, not too hard just be careful you don't break anything in it, that can be big bill thought. did a quick search and on eBay looks around $190 and up... which is redonkulous. i think you could cook your own ROM and get all your data back by doing a adb/system/pull if you wanted a new note 2.

Yes I wanted to replace the broken digitized rather than buy a second note. I was going to use a friends Note II, if I can pull all of the data off. You say adb/system/pull, or do you mean pull the system folder using adb? If you are aware of one would you link me a guide on adb? It's been some while since using the commands. Thank you for your reply.

Replace digitizer or stick in adhesive?

So I'm new to the sensation community so, hi!
My sensation has a bump on the right hand corner of the digitizer if I hold this corner, the touch screen works perfectly. The problem is, I can't touch most of the phone's sides as it doesn't recognise it (such as selecting tick boxes on settings); however if I hold that corner then use the touch screen it's fine. And am I the only one who has the problem with only 2 touches being recognised? (I think the previous owner tried putting in a wrong digitizer?)
So would I be better of buying a new digitizer or adding some adhesive since I'm not familiar with digitizers...

Hello. i think better will be buy a new module(digitizer+lcd+frame) or only digitizer (if you can replace it, its very difficulty)

Case closed. I used a kitkat rom; and now there's no problems on my digitzer werid huh.
Calibration from hboot shows APT_Too high which refers to a fake digitizer so I used htccalibrate.apk which helped a bit on other roms.
But really and truly I need to buy a new digitizer since It's very buggy.

Umph this is different to my problem. My problem is that I can't touch the side's of the screen( As in the left side and the right side) . If you are s-off try this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437293) it will recalibrate the screen. If the digitizer is an fake it will show up "TP_ATT always keep in high" (those EL blue sticker digitizers)
The kitkat rom didn't fix my problems but it made it a bit better; or it may just be me. The only explantation I could think of the kitkat rom helping was either mine fingers were used differently or it was missing touch screen drivers.
The HTCCalibrate.zip should be flashed in recovery I've attached it in this post. Then reboot and run the app to do calibration. (contains the .apk but flashes it to system/app)
If none of these work then it's not a software-related problem.
If you want to see what user's have done; refer to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239238

Broken boot on idol 6045Y

Hello all, I have a big problem with one 6045Y terminal.
I was triying to achieve root, and I accidentally flashed chainfire boot.img instead of just booting it, I had no custom recovery when I did that, so the result is that I cannot boot to Android because I boot all the time to the root script in chainfire's boot. I can only go to recovery, but I cannot reset to bootloader from there since that option is not present in 6045 stock recovery.
I have also try to use Mobile Upgrade latest's version, but it requieres the phone to stay off while connected to the PC and my phone inmediatly turns on when I plug the usb cable and then starts a bootanimation loop, so I can flash. So basically, the only option I think I have would be flashing a oza.zip file via stock recovery which had a boot.img, but I can't find any.
Do you think there is anything else I can try to recover the phone?
Thanks!
I just fixed this, If anyone with the same problem is interested, removing the backcover and plugin the battery in a out did the trick and Mobile Upgrade started working
Thanks all

Yes I'd like to know this as well. What tools did you use to get the back cover off? A heat gun?
Hello guys
I am afraid I do not know that for sure since it was a terminal from my work and the IT team got it opened, however maybe this guide could help you to open it

Pay attention to the antennas if you choose to open the phone by its back cover!
I've screwed up my GPS antenna by open my 6045I from the back cover (some antennas are sticked to the glue's scott), it seems that one needs top open by the front screen with a suction cup tool!

So out of curiosity. First things first
Do u have a case on it and tried with it off?
Do you have a case with a plastic screen protec and or a temp glass. Try removing those some thicker temp glass interferes with operation.
Third. Have u dropped your device?
4th. Are you rooted and made any mods to the system. If no to the cases and glasses and yes to rooting. Try reflashing stock firmware. And then try.
If not rooted and or dropped. Sounds like internal malfuntion. Nothing here will fix that.
U might try looking for a touch sensativity or accsesibility setting or something allong those lines.
What firmware custom roms anything like that?

Well i do have a case, i removed it to check but it still didn't work. I reverted back to stock unrooted. I did drop it and cracked the glass. I had the glass replaced but i didnt noticed the fault until recently. My theory is that as it fell, the connectors on the digitizer came loose.

That is a possibility. I did some work on mine and didnt get the usb home and touch buttons plugged in all the way. The light doesnt work on my recents key and randomly went nuts til i checked it and it was barely plugged in. Just enough to work.

Then ill have the phone checked out. I really dont believe the digitizer is damaged. The fact that only 2 fingers register may really be because of the connector. Thanks for the help
