I am new to ICS. I cannot find a setting to stop my google accounts from syncing on the Note 10.1. The Google Account page that comes up in settings shows each section has sync enabled for example Picassa, etc. . Where do I find a setting to disable sync?

Go to settings -> accounts-> google
Click on your email and in the options that come up you can see different things that are synced with a check next to them
Simply click on the check to stop it from syncing

There were no check boxes. But then I found that I had Auto Sync disabled. Once I enabled Auto Sync in the Data Manager all the check boxes appeared. Problem resolved.

Don't know about 1), but for 2) - the Samsung app store is, as far as I can tell, geared towards Samsung's "not-quite-so-smart" phones - e.g. cheap ones with Samsung's custom OS, not Android.
For Android devices, the Market is where you want to go.

i didnt think the vibrant had samsung apps stock? well i thought it was a european thing and not for america like kies but if the vibrant had it then it may just be that att doesn't want it. you can get the samsung apps app but you will only see rare firmware updates for the infuse in it. i messed with putting samsung apps on the captivate and i once got a camera firmware update but otherwise it was empty. other than that you can change /system/build.prop to look like an i9000 and get a few apps but there isn't much in there that is worth having other than maybe the asphalt 5 version that was designed to work with our gpu (the lighting looks better, things are less dull/flat looking than the market version).
as for the first question what are your sync settings? go to sttings> accounts and sync ther eare 2 types of facebook accounts for some reason, open your facebook account, if it only says "sync contacts" then it is not the type of account you want, if you have 2 or 3 options make sure calandar sync is enabled. the facebook account with only contacts sync is for the facebook app so im not sure if you should disable it, up to you but i would disable contact sync for that account and enable it on the facebook social updates account, if you need to add the social updates account then go back> select add accounts >select facebook social updates near the top of the screen (says integrated contact accounts above it) and put in your email that is attached to the account and your password. select calandar sync and the sync interval and you should have it working.

Hi guys,
I just got an HTC One X (AT&T ,locked ) , and I tried to set it up with my google account but wanted to turn off the sync with picasa, sync internet features etc. I went into the Settings-> Accounts & Sync -> Google Account page.
I couldn't see a settings option to turn off the sync for any of them. I could click on the fields below to update /sync again but there was no place I could actually turn them off. I remember on my Touchpad with CM9 , it was just an icon on the top right with 3 squares which I could click to access additional settings but can't seem to find that here.
Go to settings - accounts & sync - Google accounts - then tap on Google accounts, and now you can all sync associated with Google. Disable by un checking them

Im curious is there anyway to log in to my market app and not have my email sync or download? Im wanting to not have my emails exposed but stay logged in under my email account with the market
Yes you can select what you want to sync and what you do not want to.
Go to Settings - Accounts - Google - Select the account and in that uncheck whatever you do not want to sync

No just uninstall or disable gmail app
So I just updated to jellybean and I noticed that the gallery settings has syncing options I have all syncing disabled well atleaast I thought I did but my google account said it did a sync today. They all say disabled under settings but in gallery app my google account has a green sync button next to it. Where in the hell is it syncing to and from?
update:so I've been reading that the stock gallery auto syncs to web services can anyone confirm this? Also I definitely can't seem to disable it. Account is definitely disabled in settings menu under sync, just enabled in the gallery
Do you have a sd card in your device?
There's a problem called "Media Scanner," don't know if this is the issue you've been having- however I had it at first. Was able to get rid of it tho!
I had all my music on my SD Card (40GB) and it constantly scanned/ tried to sync.
If this isn't the problem- check to see what services are running, and then you can assess which might be problematic

Make sure ur google account is set not to sync picasa. Then
Go to the gallery app in SETTINGS, APPLICATIONS. Then clear cache and data. Should be good to go.

Thanks for the reply dont have picasa so not a problem I've disabled sync for everything but contacts under google and cleared the cache and data, but for some reason my google account is sitting in in the gallery settings menu with a highlighted sync symbol next too it. Although I am unsure if it will sync anything I would just like it gone all the same.
Thanks.
Also check your cloud settings under device settings, there might be something there syncing your photos. I had Dropbox in there.

Under Accounts, Google Account, make sure "Sync Picasa Web Albums" is disabled. Then clear the Gallary cache and Data in Application Manager.
Worked for me.

Ive read about people having picasa sync problems, I cantmfind anything related to picasa on this tablet is it a preinstalled thing or is it only there if you install picasa?
I don't have picasa installed, but it is there. I think it comes from Google+ or might just come from your google account itself.

Ive actually disabled google plus app would that be why I cant see it?
I'm running Clean ROM and my open Chrome tabs from my computer and tablet aren't syncing to my phone. They're syncing between my computer and N7, but not my phone.
In my settings of Chrome, it says Sync is "Off." I click to turn it on and a little box that says "Loading" pops up but it doesn't turn it on.
I go into account settings on the phone and Click Sync but it doesn't sync.
I have the Sync Tab option picked in my computer Chrome settings.
I'm so confused! Any help would be appreciated.
Have you tried clearing data for Chrome or reinstalling it?
Yep. And each time I reopen I get a notification that says android system sync is disabled. I go into my Google account settings I click sync and the little spinners pop up for less than a second. It says "sync disabled." am I missing something somewhere?
ETA: My other Google apps (Reader, Gmail, Contacts, etc.) sync just fine. Only Chrome is giving me this issue...
