[Q] Chrome Tabs not Syncing? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm running Clean ROM and my open Chrome tabs from my computer and tablet aren't syncing to my phone. They're syncing between my computer and N7, but not my phone.
In my settings of Chrome, it says Sync is "Off." I click to turn it on and a little box that says "Loading" pops up but it doesn't turn it on.
I go into account settings on the phone and Click Sync but it doesn't sync.
I have the Sync Tab option picked in my computer Chrome settings.
I'm so confused! Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried clearing data for Chrome or reinstalling it?

Yep. And each time I reopen I get a notification that says android system sync is disabled. I go into my Google account settings I click sync and the little spinners pop up for less than a second. It says "sync disabled." am I missing something somewhere?
ETA: My other Google apps (Reader, Gmail, Contacts, etc.) sync just fine. Only Chrome is giving me this issue...

Facebook Contacts - not wanted

hi all,
I read many forums regarding my issues, but none of them helped..
after I installed fb and adding my account in the "phone" dialler (top left icon) all my fb contacts there, even I unchecked sync...
thanks a lot,
ric
Hi,
I had the same problem and I resolved it after a long time of research.
To resolved this problem, you must reset your phone and choose "manual sync" and when you have the opportunity to add your facebook id, you skip this. When you have finished the configuration, launch facebook application and enter your id.
..
hi,
could you tell me step by step?
newbie for android
thanks a lot!
instead of wiping the phone, Go to settings > apps > all apps
Find contact storage and clear data. (This will delete all contacts so make sure they are backed up, Gmail usually does this automatically but make sure)
also, find facebook and clear data for that too..
This will remove all facebook contacts too.
Simply log back into facebook and select dont sync with contacts, And get your normal contacts back from gmail...
worked for me
ace! this is the solution...
although I had to do it again after the fb update.. what a [email protected] btw ...

you could just deactivate the facebook contacts in the contact menue so you dont see them... guess thats the easier way, just tap the top left corner and there you can select it

i fking hate this ****. i have about 100,000,000,000,000,000,000(approx) contacts in my phone..
If you only log to facebook through the browser, then you wouldnt turn the mobile fb app, and it wouldn't sync, right?
Thank god I don't have a facebook page!

its a ball ache using the browser tho
especially when you have the app lol
Can you go in the application itself to get rid of the sync feature?
I had a nightmare transferring myillions of gmail contacts from one phone to another only to realise that they had been duplicated soany times I ended up with about 10.000 of them! Eventually afte doing some manual work and using some of the phone's features I ended up with the contacts I need and backed them up in 2 places toake sure....

yes inside the app there is an option to not sync contacts..
but even if i select that, they still sync.. if i delete them, they just resync even if i uncheck it in facebook and settings.
its really pissing me off

[Q] google play without gmail

Im curious is there anyway to log in to my market app and not have my email sync or download? Im wanting to not have my emails exposed but stay logged in under my email account with the market
Yes you can select what you want to sync and what you do not want to.
Go to Settings - Accounts - Google - Select the account and in that uncheck whatever you do not want to sync

[Q] How to Disable Sync?

I am new to ICS. I cannot find a setting to stop my google accounts from syncing on the Note 10.1. The Google Account page that comes up in settings shows each section has sync enabled for example Picassa, etc. . Where do I find a setting to disable sync?

Go to settings -> accounts-> google
Click on your email and in the options that come up you can see different things that are synced with a check next to them
Simply click on the check to stop it from syncing

There were no check boxes. But then I found that I had Auto Sync disabled. Once I enabled Auto Sync in the Data Manager all the check boxes appeared. Problem resolved.

[Q] sync browser

I am using clean Rom 1.1 and there is no option to sync bookmarks in google accounts.
How can I add internet to accounts so I can sync bookmarks.
When you login to a Google account it should sync everything automatically. If not settings>accounts&sync and make sure auto sync is checked. You can also select what you want to sync by clicking on the account and selecting from the list.

It won't sync bookmarks. Pretty sure that's why Scott didn't include it.
There is a bookmark sync apk I believe somewhere in the theme and apk section. There was a thread a long time ago pertaining to the HTC browser and getting it to sync with your google account.
Edit: here's the link to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708597

Thanks hope that works haven't tried that yet.
I tried that in the link and didn't work. I know it can sync, because I have used it in ACR Rom.
It has internet option in google accounts sync and this is after I installed the stock browser zip. Is there any way to add internet option in google accounts sync.
Did you push the sync.apk to the system apps? I'm pretty sure it has to be there for it to show up in the accounts tab. Also make sure to reboot after pushing it. And change permissions to match the other apps. Other than that, i'm not sure what else to do.
No I just installed the apk I will read the thread again and try again. Thanks for everyone's replies and help. I don't post much but I read a lot,
and have learned at lot form everyone hear.
I used the chrome sync file found on this page. Just installed it last night and it works (for me anyway). I installed it just as you would any other app. Download it and press on the downloaded file in a file browser to install it.

Google Contacts stuck on synching

Hey guys.
I got decent knowledge about Android.
I got some knowledge about rooting, flashing, and troubleshooting. But I have a problem.
And ofcourse I did Google it before creating a thread here
So I was using my phone but what I noticed is out of nowere my contacts were gone.
My contacts are stored in Google.
I did go to settings > Accounts > (the acc) > and it is bussy with syncing contacts. (Feels like it is stuck on synching)
Drive, gmail, etc all off them did synch except for Google Contacts.
When I open the Google Contacts in my webrowser all off the contacts are there.
But inside Google Contacts App, it doesn't synch.
Things I tryed :
1. Removed all off my google accounts from my phone settings. cleared cache in TWRP. rebooted added back again.
2. Auto-Synch is on.
3. Tryed few times "synch now" (manual synch)
4. Rebooted few times.
5 Cleared app data from Google Contacts and Play services.
Any sugestions?
I did upload a screenshot here below. So you can see how it looks like.
And sorry for my bad english.
On your PC/MAC go to Gmail/Contacts and refresh your browser. Sign out.
On your 1+6 sign out and sign back in, that should do the trick.

But this didn't work to. Forget to mention that I did this to. I also deleted my Google+ profile. I did read somewhere that it might help, but no.
So annoying this problem.
