Hi guys,
I just got an HTC One X (AT&T ,locked ) , and I tried to set it up with my google account but wanted to turn off the sync with picasa, sync internet features etc. I went into the Settings-> Accounts & Sync -> Google Account page.
I couldn't see a settings option to turn off the sync for any of them. I could click on the fields below to update /sync again but there was no place I could actually turn them off. I remember on my Touchpad with CM9 , it was just an icon on the top right with 3 squares which I could click to access additional settings but can't seem to find that here.
Go to settings - accounts & sync - Google accounts - then tap on Google accounts, and now you can all sync associated with Google. Disable by un checking them

When I try to add Facebook under Accounts and Sync, it just loads to a white screen then returns back to the Accounts and Sync screen.
I've tried signing off of Facebook, then adding the account. It does ask for the password, then signs in. Then goes back to the Accounts and Sync screen not asking if I want to sync contacts.
Anyone else run into this?

Lol I'm not that dumb. Everything works on the phone. Browser, Facebook app etc. But when I want to add the account to Accounts and Sync so I can get it to sync pics, it just goes to blank screen then returns back to the Accounts and Sync screen.
Yes I know I can use SyncMyPix but I'd rather not.
Same problem on Motorola Milestone.
The Facebook app works, but there is no Facebook account in 'Accounts & Sync'.
Also in the Facebook app's settings, the setting to enable/disable syncing is missing.
This is with 'Facebook for Android' on the Market.
There is a long topic on this forum with a Facebook.apk that can be downloaded & installed manually. It is the Facebook.apk that has been copied from a Motorola Droid, where the app works as expected. The file size is 831431 bytes. However that app is unable to connect to Facebook. The reason is probably that it is an old app (the typic is from 2009 so it's over a year old) and Facebook's API has changed last year, 2010. In case the reader missed it: it's january 2011 while I'm writing this post.
A solution could be that someone with a working Facebook app uploads the file /system/apps/Facebook.apk to XDA. It's a free app from Facebook so it should be legal to do this.
Im curious is there anyway to log in to my market app and not have my email sync or download? Im wanting to not have my emails exposed but stay logged in under my email account with the market
Yes you can select what you want to sync and what you do not want to.
Go to Settings - Accounts - Google - Select the account and in that uncheck whatever you do not want to sync

Hi All,
This is my first post in xda-developers!!
Having an issue with duplicate contacts. I dont know how it happened but I have my contacts replicated around 5 times in my "People" app. I am using an HTC Explorer modded with Cyanogen 9 mod.
I tried some remove duplicate contacts app from play store but none is of use.
Please help me remove these duplicate contacts.
Thanks,
Starz
Your contacys are synced with google also so it shows two times one google.contact and one on your phone and maybe one on sim
So select the option to select what contacts to show and unselect google/phone try both

If you are on sense rom, use manage option and select de-duplicate contacts from People App.
Common way:
Login to Gmail
Just below Google Icon(Top left) you'll have "Gmail"- Click it and select Contacts.
All Contacts will appear(if you have synced to google account) .
In selection box, select "All"
Then Click on more option and use "Find & merge duplicates..."
It'll remove all duplicates
sign in to your gmail account. On the top left u will see an option GMAIL.click that u see an option contacts.click that your phone contacts which are in sync with gmail will open.click find and merge contacts (seen under MORE option).
also sync ur phone contacts with gmail account.all the duplicate contact will automatically gone.click thanks if this hel:goods
I am new to ICS. I cannot find a setting to stop my google accounts from syncing on the Note 10.1. The Google Account page that comes up in settings shows each section has sync enabled for example Picassa, etc. . Where do I find a setting to disable sync?

Go to settings -> accounts-> google
Click on your email and in the options that come up you can see different things that are synced with a check next to them
Simply click on the check to stop it from syncing

There were no check boxes. But then I found that I had Auto Sync disabled. Once I enabled Auto Sync in the Data Manager all the check boxes appeared. Problem resolved.
Hi guys,
I have a problem with setting calendar on s3mini.
I can connect and synch the account but the problem is that my work callendar has number of locations (for booking purposes) and to what's going on on the day I have to tick check every single location to be able to see it.
I also have HTC one and this problem doesn't occurs. I can go to 'submenu' of the calendar and then tick check all locations I want to be displayed if I tick check the 'master' account.
I know it sounds complicated to understand so I'm attaching screenshots from s3mini set up and from HTC one
If you look at the HTC one calendar app it recognizes that rooms belong to main account and I can disable/enable everything by just checking that account .
On Samsung/ Google calendar app I have to check/uncheck all boxes every time I want to change what I want to be displayed.
Thanks in advance for help.
