Acer Cloudmobile S500 custom ROM - General Questions and Answers

Hi everyone,
Does anyone have a custom ROM installed on his Cloudmobile? I would really like to have Cyanogenmod 10.1 installed on my phone. Or at least 10.0
The supported device list doesn't show my phone tough...
My phone is rooted now, and the program i've used is Acer Tool S500 0.3a
In the menu of that program is an option to unlock the bootloader, so i think it would be possible to install custom ROM's.
Thanks in advance for all the information!

no one cares about us haha
Heres a build but gps doesnt work and seems to reboot randomly :/ other than that its a great rom SOOO many options. Kind of upsets me that i cannot use it indefinitely. This is a great phone though, honestly can go against the nexus 4, install this rom and youll see how quick it can go.

Indeed, the hardware is the best value for money you can get, with Cyanogenmod it would be the best, i've found that ROM also , but the random reboots bother me...

Okay thank you SOOO much for that, Another question, is it possible that they sent me a Legend instead of a Spark and thats why the Spark ROM bricked my phone? How would i tell the difference between the two?
And thanks again for the support.

Out of curiosity i downloaded a ROM for the Legend, I installed that and it seems they have sent me a HDC Galaxy S4 Legend because after flashing with that ROM it works perfect. I did buy a Spark but was sent a Legend. What is different on the ROMs? Sorry for all the questions, new to ROMs
Zak, which ROM did you download? I'll try it on my Spark.
Do you still want my ROM?
To know if you have a Legend, you should:
See this video on YouTube: http://youtu.be/utXbKdbDcyI
Go to a store and put an S-View cover on it. Close it. If it works, (S-View mode) you have a Legend!
Other good test: Spark has only 1-side gesture. Legend has both-sides gesture working. How about yours?

I've tried a Legend Rom on my Spark and it did not bootup
I'll wait for Zak's response and try his ROM on my Spark, then I tell you.

Zak. I have your same problem. Tried updating to fluffy rom but ended up causing my phone to ?brick. Now it won't start. No LED, no back light .... nada. Connects though to SP flash tools and can read back, do memory test and able to upload scatter file which only ticks both bootimg and recovery. Don't have the files for the rest (ie preloader, mbr etc etc).
I see from your screen shot you managed to download the whole spark rom with the files I need. Where did you get it?
Did you revive your phone? I hope there's hope for mine....

The S-view flip cover works on mine. It can also respond to calls with air gestures. Everything that a Legend can do plus the Spark features. But it is not a Legend. I tried to flash the -fluffy- Rom for Legend and it soft bricked. I think the early versions of Spark didnt have the S-View cover support and had only 1-way gesture support. The latest ones were updated by the looks of it.

The stock ROM came together with the phone, I didnt download it. It is probably the one you have now too. My build number starts with JDQ39. All phones with that number should have the same ROM on it. I could be mistaking though.
Looks like I have the same phone with ZakBrindle.

My build number is differente from yours: ALPS.JB2.MP.V1.2
I will download all Legend ROMS from Needrom to see if any has JDQ39 build number, in order to try it on my SPARK
If you connect your phone to MTKDroid Tools, what you get about LCD Driver IC and uBoot build v?
How about your display: is it 2-point or 5-point multitouch?

[Q] Immersive Mode on Jelly bean?

Hi, Since i'm a newbie and just got rooted and tweaked a lot about my phone.. theres this one thing that bothers me. im using slidelock as a main lockscreen.. and the navigation bar just wont hide.. its there and its black. and it ruins the look of the app.. can somebody there knows how to solve this problem? Im on a 4.2.2 Jellybean and my navigation bar is just from the xposed too... but if somebody out there can teach me how to solve this problem. or even better.. hide the navigation bar when opening apps and the navigation bar comes back when i tap the screen.. that would be really really helpful please I need your help. Thanks
What phone is it? If you don't use tablet mode or anything then installing a kitkat rom is probably the easiest way as until someone writes an xposed module for it or until someone tries to go into the source code of it then it isn't really possible.

If this rom used the unified kernel for msm8226, then that means D2305 could also be working with it ( RIL will be an important thing to test ). And what do you mean by shutdown not working ? Does it apply to restart too ?

Hahaha nice shot. Thing is - build I released already use unified kernel. Unified as in, works on many devices, not variants (if you took same kernel, flashed it on Z3 it would work).
And by shutdown not working i mean it reboots instead of shutdown.
Oh that, I thought it won't even attempt to reboot. Ok, will flashing this rom in about an hour and let see how this goes
Edit: Flashed it, black screen and vibrating, the same situation as with D2302 users. Btw, can I ask you if D2305 is gonna be in the support list soon

Nice battery life. More expectations from the fully working ROM now @galaxyfreak I still keep track of your github commit, model detection script works now right ?
I think jerplea is not accepting it!
He said that AOSP only supports the single sim LTE model, he didn't say anything about modding it to fit other AOSP-based roms and such
@galaxyfreak is ART run fine on the M2 ? Any downside ?

[DISCUSSION] What Roms do you guys use and why?

Hey, guys.
This is not a BEST ROM THREAD. Just out of curiosity, I wanna know what ROMs you guys use and why? Also describe what kernels and mods you're using? It's just a fun little way to see what works for different people.
For example, I am using SlimKat with 907 MB RAM (thanks to @Android-Andi), Pure Performance X, L Speed and ViperFX. What are you guys using???

BrokenOS, i use this rom on my phone too, just love it. I also use A.R.I.S.E sound systems

I'm using the CM11 ROM by @Android-Andi because this ROM is the most stable ROM i've ever used ! Also Pokémon GO works well on it . :victory:

Have you noticed that when you have the tab plugged in it shows that it's not charging? IE: If you pull the drop down menu down it says charging where the wifi/blue tooth icons are, but if you turn to the screen via the lock screen or go to battery in the menu it says "not charging"... This is the ONLY thing I find wrong with that rom otherwise I'd definitely run it.
I've tried so many thing and it still doesn't show charging even though IT IS charging..... Like this rom a ton but that's the only thing that is driving me nuts about it.

I want to dl the one you have and try it. Seems weird. I did a factory reset-clear cache delvak/ factor wipe.
Installed perfectly and the only gripe is when it's plugged in and you go to the battery menu it says "not charging" even though it is. Pull the drop down menu and the tiny icon shows that it's charging.

I've got two (both OEM), both give the same thing.
Soon as I wipe the rom, install SlimKat or anything else I plug it in and it says charging. Wipe it again, install CM11 and then get the "not charging" even though it is.
I'm going to fiddle with it tomorrow.

I wish I was smart like you developers so I could create a custom overclock kernel

It's not to hard. I just take in a lot that I read from other forums. I'm not as experienced as others but I've been learning on the way.
I can try to change the calling app, I did it once. Do you have any suggestions as to what app I should use to replace the call app? And would you like some more features to be added. I'm lacking on some idea's. I'm already looking at adding Substrantum, Audio FX, Eleven Music, and a CPU Controller. "Those will be in the next Update, along with a new boot animation."
Thank you for the work you've put in! I just wanted to report that I crash when I try to click Home Screen in the Settings under the display tab. Also, would it be possible for you to post the vendor files or what ever you used to compile the rom. That would be extremely helpful.

I used the Stock rom to make this Rom. So essentially it's just a Custom Stock Rom with replaced Apps.

Hey have you had any updates on the keep. I can pull it from the boot I'm for you if you'd like.
And also have you flashed the new update? I add a couple more things and removed some more. I'm stuck unless I can get some more suggestions from everyone.

I hate auto correct so much. I meant to say do you have any updates on the kernel. And lower down I meant to say do you still need the zimage.
I'm about to update the ROM again. It will boot faster and have better battery and charger speed.

I'm about to change the ROM's build.prop to fit the ROM. Can I get some volunteers to help me edit the settings app.
Thank you for this custom ROM and TWRP! I tested this (and still using as a daily driver) and can confirm working on the LG Phoenix 4 AT&T unlocked bootloader. With Magisk 18.0 I wouldn't recommend you update till a later version is released due to force close errors, but is rare with bash installed to /system. This ROM is very clean and I'm impressed and big thanks to the developer I've been looking for a way to root my Phoenix 4 and have a debloated rom

Awesome!!! I'm amazed that my ROM worked for the Phoenix 4. It was originally for the Aristo 2. What kind of firmware are you running? Also I'm about to release an Oreo Version of the ROM. Would you mind pre-testing it?

I would love to pre-test your rom! I'm on 7.1.2 as the Phoenix 4 was before this rom. No one has even found root or TWRP that works for this device yet so I feel good knowing this rom works

I'd feel good to! Your the first one ever to root that phone. So if Aristo 2 firmware worked then the TWRP with the Oreo Kernel should work for you to. I'll post the link in a sec.
