Database Info

OK my TF101 is now rooted, now what ?

Be gentle
Just been playing with my new TF101, Razorclaw rooted it.
Now I'm thinking, what do I do next
Changemode through ROM Manager ?
Is there custom ROMs out already ?
Can I overclock it
Been though the developers section and I find it a bit confusing now, starting to get old and my brain isn't as sharp That and all the beer last night
So really this is a general question to 'what have you done and why' ?

You can do whatever you want...
ROMS:
-Android Revolution HD
-Prime
-Revolver
-KRAKD
-EeeBomb
Kernels:
-Prime kernel (has Overclock)
-Clemsyn (has OC and Undervolt)
-Blades (OC and UV)
ROMmanager doesn't work with the transformer
For overclocking, install an OC kernel and use SetCPU or No-frills cpu control or a few other that'll find in the market.

I tried that combo went back to revolver and prime 2.0.6 kernel
O/C 1.5
I/O sched SIO
Nice and quick with no lag

Yep already done and sat on a spare Micro card and hard drive.

Any of the ROMS have 3G Dongle support built in now ? Would love that. Be very handy.

Where are the 'kernals' people speak of ?

Goto Post #2 in the Prime ROM thread and you will see the kernel 2.0.6 there I believe that is what everyone is referring to

I used Revolver parts and used that to install it but my WiFi didn't work with it, so I went to Blade 2. Still can't figure out how to use the 3G dongle though after installing the 3G mod from Revolver parts though.

How to overClock

I just rooted My pad 300 and running aokp rom. My noob question is; how do I overclock and how can I know it is. My scores are lower on antutu then they were on stock. Any help?

IRC We need a custom kernel. So not yet. We can't go over 1500 mhz.

Read both of these things before. While it says you've overclocked, if you use EZoverclock, there isn't any actual performance increase, I think, without a custom kernel.
That is all based off what I've read on XDA, so take it fwiw.

Hey Guys! I saw in Rayman's thread about his kernel "harmony" that it have an GPU Overclock, so i have a question: is he means that the kernel have ability to overclock gpu or it already have increased frequency of gpu. Thanks for attention!

Harmony comes with a GPU overclock.

So, have we ability to overclock it ourselves?

No, at least i haven't found a way to do so. You wouldn't want to anyway imo, the overclock will be as high as it can go without loosing stability

Write a kernel what can be overclocked, post it here, and you are good to go..
Anyhow, there is no need to overclock. Our Armv7 CPU and the Mali GPU is a killer in combination. Almost stronger than the tab 2. And you won't get tegra performance on a non tegra device anyways.

But actually we can oc stock ics...using Tegrak Overclock from playstore...i oc my tab to 1.5ghz..so far it didnt reboot randomly...but i downclock back to 1.2ghz bcoz oc can damage our hardware...

Try Paranoid Android 3.56 JB Custom ROM, its latest kernel overclocked our cpu to 1.5ghz and is pretty stable, the previous kernel was at 1.6 but that crashes the device and produces and beep sound like of a car being stoled xD

Hello, i have a quick question
I have installed CleanROM 3.2.1 odexed, and Unters stock Tf300t OC Kernel. I would like to ask how do you guys feel about overclocking your tab? I have installed SetCPU and limited overclocking to 1,5 ghz in performance mode, do you think i could do any damage to the cpu?

I don't think that kernel has overclocking. But I usually do it. Just don't constantly have it set to the Max CPU or it will shorten the CPU life by a lot.

I have mine overclocked up to 1.8 with Clemsyn's and it also turns the GPU up to 650. I personally love the overclock. It goes good with me running Hydro 6.0 with the cranked GPU, I think it's really only good if you have the GPU power to back it up as well. If you want to overclock it higher, check out Clemsyns!

If his CPU is at 1.5 then it's overclocked, stock runs at 1.3

I think that up to 1,6GHz is harmless

I honestly can't find the stock frequency of the GPU anywhere, but I know its lower than 500!
Also, don't use the kernel installer in the OP of the CleanRom thread. Go into Clemsyn's thread and download the kernel you want to use.

I say over clocking is doable until 1.6ghz. After that, I don't think it'll be great for the CPU

Mine is at 1.8 and it runs perfectly fine, no issues at all. Got any reasoning to think that it's not good for the CPU?

+1 for overclocking. I'm running the modified Unter kernel for the PA ROM and usually keep mine set at 1.6. Everything just seems to run so much smoother with it turned up.
