Dialer problems with all 4.2.2 ROMS - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I've been having an issue with all 4.2.2 roms where if I either make a phone call or receive one my screen will go off, and none of the buttons will work during the phone call. I cant even hang up. I would have to wait for the other person to hang before I can use my phone again. I've tried 3 different 4.2.2 rom and I have the same same problem with all of them. With 4.1.2 I don't have those issues. I used the stock JB radio and kernel. Any ideas? Thanks in advanced.

OK, I've searched the whole forum for anything related to UCMCM1 and only got two hits; this post and another that briefly mentions UCMCM1. Im assuming that UCMCM1 and UCMC1 are not the same. Would you know where I can download UCMCM1? Thank you for your help.

its the same it was a typo, its ucmc1

Its ucmc1 and you can find it in the dev section and its probably linked elsewhere I'm not going to link because you need to work on those search skills.

In that case yes, I am using UCMC1 when installing 4.2.2 roms and still experiencing the same problems.

Sorry, yes I meant UCMC1, I was typing from memory. I am confused then because you said you used the stock JB radio, which I don't believe is UCMC1. In that case, you may have an APN problem, what carrier are you with?

Sorry for the confusion, Im with AT&T.

Hrm. I'm out of ideas now, I don't think I've heard of this problem before.

att's stock jb radio is ucmc1, perform a full wipe then go back to stock 4.1.2, install twrp then wipe then flash 4.22

WiFi calling issue, stock rom

Just got myself a G2X, I rooted it everything is working fine EXCEPT WiFi Calling, it just says "enabling" has anyone heard of a fix for this yet?
I have the stock rom but I am rooted. I haven't flashed the new CM9 yet but want to get this thing working on the stock rom I have.. I read someone mentioned something about grabbing an old sim card? I have had zero luck finding one.
Is there a fix for this? any flashable solution? thanks.

What is VRALI5.rpm.zip?

Is this the JB modem or something else? I'm not sure if should i install it with the jelly bean leak.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Seems like it. I flashed the one from invisiblek's modem thread with the filename VRLI5.modem.zip and it's working fine for me.
EDIT: Never mind, that's not the modem. According to this post it seems to be related to power management. I never flashed it, unless it was included with the modem zip.

YEs it is . use the link that i posted to take you to rootzwiki and download it there.
what is this talk of .RPM on touchwiz jellybean? i have searched and found little info... sorry op not trying to hijack your thread!
Here's a couple posts I found earlier today about rpm:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33187381&postcount=4155
and this latter one is more descriptive about what changes with OTA's and apparently only the rpm is of consequence...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32538851&postcount=3532
and finalement, here's a post with the JB leak's rpm:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33557322&postcount=260
Now I still don't know what this does other than exist.

I'm still new to Samsung, so someone correct me if I'm way off-base, but the gist I got was that when a new rom (or leak) comes from verizon, it includes rom+kernel+rpm+modem... which on an HTC device we called rom+kernel+firmware+radio. So my understanding is that if you just flash the new radios without the new firmware that matches up with what your dev used as a base, there could be compatibility issues.
(Much more knowledgeable people discussed this in the Cleanrom thread as in those links above).
i understand all of that...just trying to figure out what exactly is rpm. thx !

In simple terms if I understand correctly it installs files that you don't get in flashing a ROM. Gives you an option if you don't want to go back to stock via Odin and OTA back up to current version.

So does an odin back to stock undo whatever this file does or does another rpm file need to be flashed to undo it?

If you Odin to a prior version of stock, it should be included in the zip which simultaneously changes the modem. The reason an rpm is being discussed is because when flashing custom roms and modems, this isn't updated. Think of an Odin flash of older images as "reversing an update," all those same files are added when you accept an OTA, so they'll be changed if you Odin an older stock image.
If I'm wrong, I'll gladly redact my comment but that's what I understand from this discussion.

Thanks, it's starting to make more sense to me. I'm not unfamiliar with root but typically only do so to eliminate bloat, otherwise I'm happy with stock builds. The JB leak changed things a little so I want to get a better handle on what I'm installing and why.
stable
Why can't this just be simple.....I just want a good stable everything and then leave it alone.....Will that ever happen?

flash back to stock and leave your device alone...pretty simple.
So if we revert to a ROM backup, do we need to manually turn back the rpm as well, like we do with the modem? Sounds like we need vrali5 for jb leak. I will play around with jb for awhile though go back to ICS for everyday stability use, until I find a jb I like. Do I need to revert the rpm when I restore ICS? Where do I find older rpms. Thanks.

Connection problems with SUPERLITE CM10 JB4.1.2 RoM

I recently flashed to Vincom's SUPERLITE CM10 JB4.1.2 RoM | V8.0.
Ive gotten things up and running pretty well, but there is one major issue I seem to be having. My phone is not consistently able to connect to data on AT&T. I am frequently losing my data connections in locations where I have always had them in the past.
I searched around on his developer thread but didnt see an answer. I saw a reference to APNs for AT&T, but his note says these should now be included in the ROM I flashed, so Im not sure if I am missing something.
Anyone know if this is a common problem or how I can troubleshoot it and get up and running again?
Thanks.
Haven't heard of this being a problem. What modem (baseband) are you on? You can find it in settins, about phone.
Also, in settings wireless, more, mobile networks, Check that the access point name is on att LTE

Its gotten worse. Ive spent the last 5 hours with almost zero data access.
I see baseband version i727UCLI3.
Access Point name was was set to ATT wap, cingular. I switched it to ATT LTE (pta)...should this fix it? Any idea why this would have happened? Will I need to keep checking this or was it just something from the ROM flash?

Similar issue
I have tried flashing like 5 different modems while on CM 10.0. In the philly area (if that helps). They all seem to work GREAT for like a day or two and then start to go downhill. I know my office doesn't have great reception, but seems like once it looses signal there are a lot of times it won't pick back up until i put it in airplane mode. On I727UCLF6 right now. Also been noticing sometimes it will look like i have signal but no data goes through until i reboot. Tried to dial *#2263# or *#*#4636#*#*, first one got an error (connection problem or invalid MMI code) second one just went to att this number is invalid message. any suggestions welcome thanks!

Synergy ROM (484) Clean install -- broken camera/GPS not connecting

As can be gleaned from the thread title, I install the latest Synergy ROM (484) and my camera app crashes as well as GPS failing to lock on. I have tried different camera apps and using GPS Status. Does anyone know of a fix, as I've tried searching through the 3000 page forum? LOL
Thanks in advance for any help

Doubt if anyone has a fix because the ROM is not broken. I've used the last 3 builds and never had a problem. Download fresh and wipe and try again. I recommend starting with the included stock kernel. and oh yes, make sure you are on the correct modem firmware wince the ROM does not install that.
Bad download? Try downloading again.

Did you superwipe? Flash any firmware update?
Firmware is key. Not all roms have been rebased to match the newest. Make sure you flash the firmware with .Tz file. Seen pages of people with camera problems on synergy because of this.

I'm sorry if I implied the ROM was at fault, perhaps I am missing some step, but I did just now do a complete wipe (3x), re-downloaded the ROM and firmware, and it seems the only problem MY phone has is the Camera

Tried that. *Sigh* I think I am going to go to a different ROM, not having the Camera work is a dealbreaker. Whether it's ignorance on my part, or lack of documented resolutions for this problem that I have seen others have, I can't go this long without it.
Maybe flashing another ROM and coming back at a later time may solve the issue.
