Hi,
I'm from israel and bought the i9070 yesterday.
I immediately flashed the 4.1.2 official rom (LQE), and started to experiment with the device.
I had several samsung phones (I9100, 959V) and the stock rom seemed a bit not responsive as i expected, So I flashed cocore 6.8 kernel and tried 5 different roms from the forum. All of them were A BIT faster than the original rom, but all of them had some touch sensitivity issues (needed to press sometimes again on an icon to activate it).
It seems that the development for this device is not as effective as i hoped. I went back to stock rom and wanted to ask :
1. Have you experienced non responsiveness in custom roms based on 4.1.2 ?
2. Is another stock rom (From a different country) can work faster ?
Thank you
I use dxamd1 odex fw, rooted and cocore 6.8 kernel. And it works fine no lags good performance.
Also a nice Rom is the galaxperia v2. Only a camera and email issue. But tha can be solved.

Thanks you Boot. I'll try to look into the dxamd1 you mentioned.
It's all BS. No offense. But I'm not a fan of false hope, let's not bull**** each other.

You either got used to it or you're lying to yourself. I bet it's not as good as GB.

Anyone that says no lag etc is full of crap. JB on this device lags like an online game over a 56K modem... Sort it out Samsung!

Well I must admit I've installed GB stock Rom today and it's quite faster and smoother than all JB roms I've tried.I'll stick to it for a while.
Thank you guys
Hi dude,
I'm using the PCL version (pelephone stock).
Get it from Sammobile.com.
There is also a version to orange, so they are both working (tried them both).
My battery life and overall performance are really great!
Thanks Dvir.
I only saw ilo and pelephone version. didn't see orange version. is the pelephone version unlocked ? (i'm on 012mobile sim).
Thank you
ILO is for Orange & Cellcom (012 uses Orange's network, so it's compatible too!).
They are all unlocked, the PCL uses some frequencies that Pelephone & Hotmobile are using.
Try to work with stock only, I feel great with it (until CM will come alive lol).
Enjoy bro.
I flashed the JB rom again, then flashed root, then temp Cwm 6.0.2.8 and cocore 6.8 CWM which turned the cwm to permanent.
My son gave me this idea to change the cpu governor to interactive and the phone is MUCH MORE responsive than before (I used cpu master because no frills cpu has some bug on the i9070)
Just wanted to update. Will work with it for few days to see how it works and how's the battery life.

Hello,
my i9003 have a problem, every firmware who I flashed isn't smooth. It's smooth since 10 minutes after that the phone become to laggy (keyboard and scrolling inusable because of the laggy ...).
The only firmware who don't laggy was the XXKPE and now, after two days of use even him become to laggy !!
I begin to despair, how I can have a smooth phone ? (I don't care about the CF Root or this thing, I want only a smooth phone)
May be it's my flash process ? Someone can suggest me one ?
Thanks for your answers, I hope someone can help me.

i hope u know about custom roms
Thanks for the reply.
Don't love at all the custom skin rom ... But what custom rom is smooth ?
Any other ideas ?
I don't understand what is the matter, why after few hours the phone begin to laggy. I flashed XXKPQ it's the same (has KPE,KPH,KPN,KPM....).
I flash twice XXKPE, flash XXKPQ, factory reset, flasher CF Root and I cleared the Cache and Dalvik Cache. I deoxeded, did backup, Ext4, and restored backup and laggy after few minutes/hours.
I tryed to flash stock ROM without CF Root/ext/Deodex it's the same. I try to download no APK it's the same...
Hope someone can help me.
Deodexing usually causes some home screen scroll lag for me. Don't deodex. Also don't apply any tweaks in your CF-ROOT tweaks app, as some of the tweaks ends up causing the phone to lag after a few minutes of use!

Thanks for the reply.
I tryed without any tweaks or deodex or cf root it's the same. Actually I am with XXKPQ no tweaks and no deodex it's laggy.
I think a file or a thing like that is corrupt.
Any other ideas ?

I think the laggy are independant from the tweaks because of the laggy come without the cf root. So I think there is a thing who create the laggy on all the rom (I hope u understand what I meaning)
But I will try to able some tweaks.
Hmmm... It's weird... Why don't you flash back to your region's stock ROM (Froyo) and see if the problem still persists. If it (or even if you think there are any problems) just send it to the service center and get it repaired/replaced.

I don't think that. Yesteday I flashed to KPQ, since 2-3 hours all was perfect after that the laggy begin. And it'snt "minimal lag" but huge lag, when it's like that the keyboard show the letter 1sec (or more) after I tap on it...
The homescreen it's the same, need to slide 2-3 time for change, or doens't change at all and tap on a apps.
This is not normal at all (even my S5230 was better no need iphone lol).
Sorry but I don't know where find the Froyo for Europe. SamFirmware close :/

Do u have any suggestions ?
I understand now. I am using gingerbread now and i can tell that its smooth also. I thibk your problem is the wiping process. After every rom do not forget to factory reset, wipe cache partition then wipe dalvik cache

i guess you have an app working wrong and that's why it is laggy. It allways happen after you copy your backup data or apps?
I backuped the same apps who I used in Gingerbread on Froyo, and Froyo work well. I will retry a last time a flash on Gingerbread and if it's laggy I keep Froyo.
i'm currently on Blaze V3(blue theme) i have gone through all of supercharged after V2. Whats the news on Sonya or Victory? Anyone using them i want to hear what you guys think.(I get bored of roms quickly lol)
ROMS
I'm using Lithium V1.1 right now I overall like the performance of it and the looks. IMO good ROM. I was able to use the universal deblur script once before the issue arrived with the ATRIX 2. Now IMO that was great had about 570mb of free Ram. Saved alot on battery too. I'm gonna try the supercharged one next. I like to change the look of my phone often and having these choices are very helpful thank you devs!

if you are going to try super charged i'd go with either red dawn(which you will have to put normal blaze on first) or V5 update 2. V5 is going to give a more stock look but still runs as well as blaze.
Thanks
Yeah I reading the v5 update 2 of supercharged sounds good. Now if I have a ROM loaded now can I just follow this directions posted? Thank you for the information!
what i suggest is to make a back up in CWM then if you made a back up of just stock rooted go into that. if not you will have to get RSD lite and get a rooted stock then follow the directions.
Stock root backup
I did make a stock root back up before I flashed Lithium. Well thanks again for the help. I will five this a try.
I've been using Supercharged V5.2 since it came out. I've tried others but tend to go back to Supercharged. It runs great and everything works. I also like how subtle the theme is which makes it easy for the rest of the apps to fit well into the scheme. The rest of the ROMs seem to be very similar to Supercharged just with different themes and some apps (SMS, Music, Gallery, etc) changed. I like the stock SMS app just fine and the rest I use third party.
Currently running VictoryROM 1.1, awesome rom!
It's not OC but it's solid, stable, everything works perfectly and it's themed exactly as I would do it myself, not over the top and gaudy. Lack of OC = excellent battery life so i'm good with that.
SuperCharged v5.2 by lfaber06
I have no problems with this ROM, even little bugs, and the main point is theme, stock theme is the best.
I am using just the stock 2.3.6 rom with root access and frozen bloatware.
I am using a HYBRID of Victory ROM and Lithium ROM...LOL Credit goes to both the Devs of this ROM
I am using me865 deblured and deoxed, and asian mb865

No, unfortunately it doesn't. Just a few roms fully work with CWM on boot (I think it's VictoryROM and Sonya (as developer said, he has solved this problem)).
Been on both stock roms (2.3.5 and 2.3.6), been on both stock deodexed (2.3.5 and 2.3.6), been on Supercharged v4, v5, v5.1, v5.2. Been on Lithium v1.1.
The fastest of them is Lithium. And it's really debloated. But has issues with CWM on boot (it's included as default and with it GPS doesn't work). When you remove CWM on boot you get GPS but loose overclock with no chance of restoring it.
Now I've restored Supercharged V5.2 with OC to 1200 Ghz. It's pretty quick (quicker, than stock and stock deodex) and have great battery life (better then on Lithium even when latter wasn't OC).
Running SC v5.2 for about 2 months, I think...

Atrix Sonya V3 update 2 MIUI LOCKSCREEN / SONY LAUNCHER.
Stock, rooted, bootstrapped.
The End.
I'm running Sonya v3 with Bionic CWM and it's close to a proper setup. Rom Manager works with it and my dropped calls issue cleared up for the most part. I know that most likely that is a radio issue, but all in all, I'm happy with the setup.
Still dreaming of an unlocked bootloader though.

I've been running my own personal variant of simple KJ6. Sometime ago I took Krylon's release as the base and made few changes to it (a neater 1% battery, some change to de-CIQ, etc.) It's heavily debloated though and has a couple of my own conservative presets in init.d. Otherwise it's stock. If anybody wants it I can post it.
I would say post it like FB did his.

Yes you can. Actually if you we're running a custom ROM you would need to revert back to a stock ROM, rooted or not. Any who, Google LG update tool. Install that and drivers for g2x and follow the prompts from the LG tool and that should do it.

Sent from my LG-G2x using Tapatalk 2
I miss my bluetooth connectivity but that aside the new BB is the absolute bizness (for all the reasons previously stated). The phone even seems to handle OC'd kernels better.
I still get occasional shut down or random reboot on New Baseband with CM7.2 Official Stable
i agree with dark ma++er about missing the bluetooth with the new BB, but i have had it for a few weeks now and im running CM7.2 nightly 20120617 (i guess that is or will be 7.3?) and faux kernel without any issues whatsoever, and it overclocks wonderfully, does not overheat, reboot, lockup, nothing. solid as a rock and loving it!
I'm using Stock 4.1.2 and except 5ghz wifi isn't working am pretty happy with it.
Do the later custom roms add enough performance enhancements to warrant the effort? For me the 'proper' dpi and tablet layout of stock is highly preferred so any other layout is really not desired.
Thanks.

Wow. I had good reasons to move away from the stock ROM back when I did it. But that was so long ago, I can't remember what they were specifically. I think a lot of people are in that same boat, which is why you aren't getting any responses here.
I would say that if you're happy with the stock ROM, then stick with it! The easiest upgrade you can do is to install an aftermarket launcher, like NovaLauncher or GoLauncher. You'll get a ton of features that will allow you to customize your home screen layout without having to mess with rooting and flashing ROMs and recoveries.
