What does this have to do with development?
Call lycamobile and ask them if you can get a PAK code.
And next time ask your question in the Q&A forum please.

You're quite right, it is PAC. That was my phone doing auto-correct and me not checking properly as I hadn't had my coffee by then :crying:
If you can get a PAC code from Lycamobile then you should be able to move it as they are supposed to have agreements with all the major mobile providers now.
I am presuming that you are in the UK, so you might want to look at this page - Porting your mobile number from Lycamobile

Greetings all,
Wondering if anybody have ran into a way to change provisioning , im currently on T-Mobile and would love to switch it to AT&T. Just havent seen anyone bring this up in the forums.
Thanks in advance!!!!
Apologize, posting in proper forum location.
I'm sorry but i fail to notice any link between android development and switching carriers...
I'm sorry but i fail to notice any link between having attitude and helping other members in this forum ... regardless of whether they've posted a question in the wrong forum...

Call T-Mobile and request a sim unlock code, takes 1 to 2 weeks to get it emailed to you.. You will not be able to have 3g working on ATT wireless. They have different frequency bands, but it will do edge.
Hope this clears this thread up and it can now be moved or closed!
BTW try posting in general for these types of ? or just a quick "google"
Will Sprint let us unlock our S V's for domestic use?

The VoLTE thread is very similar to my thread and its still in the general section.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797205
I was informing people that unlocking is now legal (didn't see it posted) and then asked a question about our devices. It's more of a discussion (like the VoLTE thread) than a "I need help thread."
Just wanted it to get more views especially since it may (or may not) mean that folks can just call Sprint and get their phone unlocked instead of having to do the unlock th themselves.

If you labeled your thread with [Discussion] it may have stayed. It means you can unlock your phone to take it to another carrier http://lifehacker.com/you-can-now-legally-unlock-your-cellphone-heres-what-i-1614787933
Which for a short time was deemed illegal. As far as Sprint giving you an unlock code, it still requires carrier permission and for you to be free of contract. Sprint can still make that decision and is not forced to give you an unlock code. It is just not illegal for you to do it yourself.

Ah, so in reality, not much has changed in regards to carriers unlocking our phones?
In that case, it's really not big news after all.

Nope. It was a ridiculous law to begin with.
So it looks like both the Xperia and Galaxy dudes can enjoy unlocked LTE bands on their Qualcomm powered phones. I found this tutorial here
I was able to go through the entire tutorial. The problem is that upon reboot the settings will revert back to their original parameters.
Has anyone have successfully unlock world LTE bands on the LG D820..?
Also while trying to backup the original configuration of my phone using the QPST tool, my Nexus asks for an "SPC" unlock code which i do not know what it is... The software fails to retrieve the dump because of lack of this code.... does anyone know how to retrieve this code from the phone..? i sure do not know what it is...
This is not a galaxy. Not one person in this forum has "unlocked", "activated" of "added" any LTE bands. What's more, this question is asked on a daily basis.

I know and have read people unlocking qualcomm devices left and right... just haven't seen any Nexus 5 traffic.... did you guys read the threads on the links i posted..? these mods are for Qualcomm devices... not just Galaxys and Xperias... there were mere examples...

All the threads i have found so far as in regards to what works out of the box in other areas... modem flashes and so on... nothing proactive like the threads i have found in other forums..... There are Chinese dudes using their D820 in china right now...? how do i know..? i got results through Google in Chinese. The problem is that when you push those sites through translate, they dont make any sense. Furthermore, illustration materials posted are all in Chinese since they are graphics..... But really nothing in regards to how to unlock Qualcomm devices for other LTE bands... there is a difference... It may seem to you that they are the same but the questions are NOT.... i have posted the threads so that you can perhaps put down the sniper rifle and do some clicking... and read..!!!! nothing more..! if you have heard or read anything, awesome..! post it...! if you haven't then perhaps this would be an opportunity to check out these threads.

You seem to be ignoring the facts. There are threads here discussing modifying the LTE bands at length. No one here, on XDA has managed to unlock, activate or add LTE bands to the nexus 5. I know this because I've ready every single thread in the nexus 5 forum about LTE bands. I've read every answer and read every link similar too those that you posted today. No one here has done it. I've told you this no less than 3 times now.

all right.... like i said! i have successfully rewritten the NV Bands String from stock to one that supports European bands. It loads it in memory and it seems to work well switching from Edge to HSPA+ very quickly unlike the stock string that took for ever to do the same switching.... haven't tested LTE because there is none in my area.... the problem is that upon new NV bands strings gets overwritten by the default string and the problem ensues... i will try to head on to Regensburg tomorrow and test

Hello xda,
recently i saw the whatsim upgraded to chatsim, allowing more apps to take place, and i was wondreing some things:
They give you a phone number?
I saw they dont let you send SMS but, recibe o send calls?
Somebody tested the "free internet access" via any VPN service and see if works?
Is there any throttle or they cut all the access when you run out of credits?
I think by now i will resolve my questions, and for sure any other member could have the same questions or post any new question here.
Thanks to all for reading or anwering.
EDIT: Wrong secction, it would be nice if this is moved to the Q&A section, thanks

Hi, I bought chatsim couple of weeks ago and is successfully activated. Today I was in overseas and wanted to use it, but I couldn't do it.
I was looking on the internet and found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zG8KKaH9B8 in the minute 6:06 they talk about add another user (WITH YOUR CHATSIM PHONE NUMBER) in order to use chatsim. Here is my question:
I have a dualsim phone (Letv X800) and have on mu dutch number whatsapp running. In order to use chatsim (phone number +44number) I need to create/activate it within whatsapp, right? Do you have any idea how to do it without using the method mentioned on the video?
Thanx
I own my Moto G Turbo Edition(XT1557). I bought this device two months back. But motorola had seriously disappointed me by announcing that they excluded this device from Nougat update. So I have planned to install CyanogenMod 14(Android 7.1) on my device. But it does not include VoLte support. My question is.. Will any custom rom supports VoLte? If not. can anyone tell me the clear reason. Or do I have any other way to update to nougat with VoLTE support? Please reply. Thank you

Cause volte require some codes that are kept confidential by motorola . If motorola release those then anybody can do illegal activities like changing the telphone values to a level beyond govt limit.

lol are you serious? if so, then congratulations! that's the dumbest thing anyone has said all year!
let's just call it a repeating forum, or better yet the VoLTE forum, since all you VoLTE guys need so much support and cant seem to do any reading whatsoever before asking the same questions over and over and OVER
@WaxysDargle does have a good point. to many people are asking every f*cking day for volte without doing any research
people who actually do some research know that volte doesnt work and are getting tired of constantly telling this to everyone.
the worst part is that all the people (that dont look at our lovely forum for like 1 minute to find a simple answer) FULLY ignore us,
We should get a mod pinning a thread explaining this..... or place a warning on every damn inch of this website
if you cant understand this, i hope you hardbrick your device
It's not always possible to retain every feature in custom rom world, they need to learn that.
As for why, this is a difficult question. Maybe the carrier JIO works somehow differently than rest of the carriers using VoLTE all over the world (there were a few as far as I know). To understand this, you need to understand how the phone radio works.
Okay, so, a radio chip (with an antennae) can send and recieve radio waves and the information contained in them. Now that can be inefficient if every company is allowed to implement it in it's own way, it can also cause interference and fragmentation. Hence there are restrictions over the usage of radio. As computers work according to what they are programmed to, anyone who can peek into the code can manipulate the radio e.g unlocking bands or using nonstandard frequencies. A whole lot possibilities are there.
In android, the radio is controlled by something called RIL (Radio Interface Layer). This is already nicely documented here - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Interface_Layer.
https://afewe.wordpress.com/android...ith-the-radio-layer-interface-ril-in-android/
Now RIL code can't be directly released to the public due to the aforementioned reasons. So pre-compiled blobs (somewhat like portable windows executable .exe files) are given instead that can be used directly when cooking a rom. But it's very hard (and perhaps illegal) to decompile and reverse engineer it.
We don't know if JIO has standard implementation for VoLTE. There is much rumor surrounding this and the carrier itself. We can't experiment it much either. That makes it hard to answer this question.
Edit : This is all I know so far, any corrections are welcome.
