Finally got my Xperia L today! :good: Was out of stock in local market for almost about 2-3 days. Got a good deal from the local dealer.
Phone battery died after 4-5 hours of heavy usage(was at 53% when I first put the battery in). And now when i plugged in the charger for first charge of , noticed that there was no Offline charging animation in L
Can someone confirm this ? Only the Illumination light was glowing red.

Hi!
So, I'm using this phone for a week today. And I'm very satisfied. No lag at all, even with lots of tabs on Chrome (but I prefer the stock browser that is not available).
I got some bugs but thanks to PC Companion it xas repaired.
Now I'm looking for a case and a screen protector...
hey guys,
can anyone suggest the best stock firmware upgrade in terms of decent battery and good camera
I have upgraded directly from 4.1 to 4.2.2(15.3.a.1.17). so, no idea on the intermediate updates.

In regards to posting on the xda site I'm new, but I've been surfing the site and its various forums for quite some time. As stated in my topic title, I've had the Droid X2 ever since it first launched and I'll be making my move into the Razr HD this weekend.
I've been closely watching the Razr HD forum and all of it's topics and have gathered questions that I'd like answered as a whole since some of them weren't so clear through some of the answers provided.
1.) It's nice to see safestrap out for this device, but how long should I expect to wait before the initial ROMs start rolling in?
I've compiled a list of problems that people have come across with this device and was wondering if people as a whole were experiencing the same issues (I am on Verizon if that makes any difference between any version variants of the Razr HD)
1.) Some have listed their phones are showing up as 1500 mAh through the Battery Monitor app (battery should be 2530 mAh) is this an error for some or an actual flaw?
2.) Some have listed that their notification light isn't working or stops working after they transfer their stuff over from Google (Common problem? and/or is there a fix?)
3.) Is everyone's Camera flushed perfectly into the phone or sticking out?
4.) How common is the internal call volume and external speaker problem affecting some? I heard this phone has a great external speaker (my dx2 doesn't!)
5.) Battery Life! Hows everyone's battery holding up and what kind of user are you? Trying to get an idea of what to expect since I'm an above average user and will do lots with this phone.
Thank you all in advance for all the input, I'm just trying to make sure I know what to expect when jumping to this device.
My job doesn't have an actual demo unit out to play around with so I'm screwed on seeing this phone up close =/
Regarding the app called Battery Monitor Widget by 3C, it also showed 1500mah for my Maxx HD.
I believe it to be false stats from the app as my phone actually last longer than what appears to be.
I love my Maxx HD, however I have one complaint. In idle state, my Maxx HD would lose around 6-7% in 10 hours compare to my Xperia x10 with
WolfBreak custom rom which would only lose 4%. I guess it's because I haven't disable all the bloatware yet.
P.S. Just to clarified, if both phone plays the exact same 20min video thru wifi only - Maxx HD would only lose 4% while my Xperia x10 would lose 10%.

1. ROMs - There is already one out, and one in the works for the developer edition. I would say it shouldnt take more than a couple more months (at the longest to see some ported over to or made for the regular devices.)
1. Yea that app shows incorrect battery life for some but it is a free app and I wouldn't put much emphasis on it. There is no way to get the battery life people are reporting on a 1500 battery.
2. Hmm sounds like an isolated problem. Mine works fine. (don't know much on the subject right now)
3. Camera is flush.
4. The volume for me is loud. Almost too loud with notifications. I also came from a X2 and the phone call sound is a major improvement for me.
5. I have the Razr HD Developer edition. I would say i am a moderate (maybe slightly heavy user) and i have no problem getting a good 24 hours out of it. (sometimes a couple less sometimes a couple more.)
Thanks for the feedback man, this is assuring. I want to have a phone that will last out of my own usage and even through some dev support from roms. I felt somewhat alone when it came to the development for the X2 seeing as very few roms came out for it. (I only used eclipse, cm, then I went completely stock root these last few months) the Razr HD just has a complete build and will receive jb so I'm satisfied on that alone.

battery life on mine is ridiculous, completely stock never rooted Maxx HD here and I'm pulling at least 24 hours out of the battery and thats with heavy usage... if I can find the screenies on my phone I'll post them, I got something ridiculous one day like 26 hours of good use with like 6 hours of screen on time set at 75% brightness

If you're buying the phone off contract, I'd go with the developer. If you are using an upgrade, the Maxx is worth the extra bit of coin. It's the same hardware, just better battery life.

yep same charge and the brightness was pretty high too about 80% or so, I usually don't use auto brightness lol... oh and that was from maybe my 3rd or 4th day of having it so the battery wasn't "broken in" yet either
edit: also notice how the light use at the beginning pretty much flatlines the battery drain, its pretty good at low power idle

It's a great phone, but there isn't a lot of development for it. If you're okay with using stock or a stock based rom and customizing it yourself then you'll love it.
Right now the only options is a rooted versions of the AT&T and WWE versions of the stock rom both Odexed and DeOdexed and MagioRom which is based off the Sense 5 Rom. It's supposed to be getting a lot of changes in the next update (performance and battery improvements as well as the ability to choose which mods you want) which I'm looking forward to. Someone was working on getting CM 10.2 on the One Mini, I sent him a message so I'll let you know what he says when he replies back.

If you want it, I would recommend getting it. It's not that I'm unhappy with the phone itself. It's a lovely phone. My personal opinion is that there's not enough XDA support for it at the moment, availability is a little low and having come from an HTC One S it's not too much of an "upgrade". All of these things should be picking up as the phone becomes more widely distributed. In Canada, the Rogers network is getting this phone soon, and they're going to be releasing the blue versions soon too. I have a feeling as HTC gets everything sorted out, things will pick up.
The phone itself is a good phone, but if you're looking for something that's going to blow you away, it doesn't really.
Battery life of this phone I have found so far to be phenomenal. At 18 hours the phone was at 36% and that's with me talking on the phone for 4 hours on bluetooth, surfing the internet on WIFI and just general tinkering with it.
I would have been preferred to have the Sony Z1f (and maybe I might just do that when it comes out), but at this point and time, this was the best option for me. My cousin picked up the Moto X ... felt kinda cheap.
Anyways, I don't know if that helped you out much, but if you're looking for a phone in THIS size and want it RIGHT NOW, then I'd say go for it. If not, maybe wait for the Sony Z1f.
The forum not alive isn't entirely true. It's not the fault of One Mini so no one get it, you are safe to buy One Mini.
The real problem is One Mini isn't a real upgrade to previous model(One S) which made 95% of folks decided to live with the older model.
I'm an One S user but I want to give Zoe a try. I'll get a Mini later when the price cheaper.

Hello guys , I got my nexus 5 from my relatives at US (I'm from India). Within the first month of usage, one fine day its motherboard got too much hot and eventually corrupted. I had to send it back to US to get it replaced (as its warranty can be claimed there). I dont think it's motherboard got corrupted because of rooting or any custom rom. Well after few weeks I got it back, and again within one month of usage it got hard brick. This time I'm not sure why it happened , maybe because of that I installed ElementalX kernel on Madhi rom ? or its happening because I'm using the charger that is provided with it from US and it has few voltage differences with respect to India. please guide me as I dont really want to mess it up 3rd time.
PS : I'm not a noob I have had Galaxy S2 for about 2 years and worked just fine for me without any problem. i always know what im doing but just confused that what is happening wrong with me when it comes to nexus 5. i have rooted so many of my friends phone and installed custom roms and no one ever encountered any problem .
Also to root nexus 5 i had used the roottool kit but i dont think it would have cause any problem as the problem arises after a month or so after rooting or installing a custom rom.!
I can guarantee u that if u flashed mahdi and ElementalX and let it on stock settings that wasn't the issue, i have them both installed since i got my n5 and never had issues.. sorry to hear that btw

Stick to the stock ROM . I had all nexus devices ever released , tried most of the custom Roms. And after all am back to the stock one .
The Charger is an Intl one , don't worry about voltage differences am using it on both 110 and 220 .and never try to charge it with higher Amps charger .
All should be fine .

The heat issue can be attributed to the charger.
Please try to use fastboot and adb toolkits can be tricky.(I'm no purest)
Did you have a case on while using custom ROM/kernel?Sometimes my phone gets hot while under heavy usage with case.
Are you changing/tweaking anything with trickster or faux,That could be while your phone burned up?
As far as bricking and it occurring a month later,by brick please explain what you see.(does your computer recognize it when being plugged in,Did it random reboot to nothing, Did it just turn off and not on,Did the battery run out and won't charge.Did it bootloop and screen go black?)a brick normally is a result of modifying the software somehow. Even if your electric charging is off that doesn't effect your firmware radio modem etc.
@D.D.P. can you elaborate a little better or did I cover it.lol
I hope any of what I said helps clarify, best wishes.
I bought my nexus 5 from Google Play US and my wall adapter says input voltage can be anywhere between 100V-240V @50Hz-60Hz which is acceptable on ALL countries worldwide. I don't think voltage supply is an issue.
Please tell us how you use your phone, what apps are installed, what rom/kernel you are in, and the last activity of the phone before they went hard-bricked. This information can help us prevent this sort of thing from happening.

You covered it. I'd have added the fact that any custom kernals where the voltage is peaked, especially during charging state or when a case that is one piece or doesn't allow enough air flow will cause increased heat. Also, where was the heating problem coming from? Near the camera area or near the speakers? That would be two separate issues. And a device won't simply hard brick after using it, randomly on its own. Its possible that during an update or a tweak or mod that the coding didn't merge properly and would definitely cause that.
I've used imported chargers on both of my old HTC phones and I haven't had a single issue. Many of my friends do the same as the ones I had used to charge the device a little quicker.
My guess is it was just your bad luck that you needed to RMA twice and on top of that from a different country.
Then again, it's good to cover all bases so buy a home country charger and good luck with your phone
Agreed.Bricks don't just randomly. Maybe case of faulty device.I would like to know what OP refers to a brick as on Xda there are different types hard or soft.

Yes, that is a over heat issue from encasing not allowing air flow. Take your case off and make sure you're not running several background processes. Your issue should subside.

Also, don't use aftermarket chargers or quick charge settings. The cells in your terminal aren't designed for voltage flux. Use an LG brand charger, and charge normally. Thanks for reminding me @vin4yak
Hi,
I bought my Nexus a week ago. During the first day the battery life seemed to be ok but since 2 oder 3 days it is really bad.
I didn´t really use the phone today (checked some emails and used for 2 or 3 really short calls) and the battery is emtpy after 11 hours...
Phone is rooted stock rom (CF) 4.4.2 since the first day. Any ideas?
Need much more information to get an idea what you do with your phone and how its setup. What features are running and stuff like that.
Rooted?
And do yourself a favor and get Gsam from play store, as well as gsam root companion after, if you're rooted. It has much more detailed information. The stock battery usage screen says very little to help find an issue.
Also, read through some of the following thread...start on last page and go back a bit. Tonnes of good info and tips there. A better place to discuss issues as well.

Good luck!!

Same story of mine, you are lucky enough that your phone battery empty after 11 hours in my case it was around 8 hrs its gone.
Nexus 5 not smart enough regarding its battery backup. It is very normal problem in smartphones but N5 performance is worst among them.
Go through this , may it will help you out as we both are in the same ship.

Sorry but that is not true. It's been proven time and again that the N5 is one of the more battery efficient phones to date. Just because you're having issues with it doesn't mean we all are, there are many things for you to try but complaining won't help.

Some people just don't seem to want to spend the time troubleshooting, unfortunately.
And they just live with it, unhappily.

Yup. And many feel things should just work, without any tweaking or fixing.....so they just leave things as is and are resentful.
But what can ya do. Lol

i see this too often, but not as much on xda, more here in real life.
OP...there are threads about the possible battery issues with the N5 and how they can be fixed all over the N5 forum. Perhaps you could've checked those out first before opening a thread. However, I do agree with the assessment that it takes a bit more investigating on your part to figure out why you're having battery drain issues.
The picture you posted is just a microcosm of what things could also be draining your battery. Do you have apps running in the background? Are your apps syncing too frequently? Are Google apps running or syncing too often?
What fixed my drain issues was going into my Accounts settings and ticking only the Google apps I used on a regular basis (Gmail, Calendar, and Contacts) and unticking the others.
Seems just another post a question, then don't bother to return to see responses....or at least not comment on any of it...kinda thread. Lol
You can lead a horse to water, but can't make it drink.
Hi, I didn't have any more issues so far. Right after creating this thread the issue disappeared without any changes except installing the battery app mentioned in the first reply (and maybe a reboot).

Hi all
I picked up a 5 month old nexus 5 yesterday running 5.0.1 stock, its a wonderful very fast phone, I'm coming from a moto g 2013 so the speed bump is noticeable.
So far everything seems to be working really well, i cant get a GPS lock inside a building but it works fine outside (the moto g easily got a fix inside) but who need GPS indoors anyway
I'm going to try out the phone for the next week or 2 and see how it performs, I've read battery life can be disappointing but it was factory reset yesterday and battery life seems fine so far, i guess ill have to give it a few more cycles to be fair.
I also use GPS/maps a fair bit for my work, on the moto, google maps used very little battery , any experiences anyone with battery life and GPS on the nexus ?
One further question, do you think the upcoming 5.0.2 update will improve the battery life or is 5.0.1 what i can best expect ? also any ideas when the official 5.0.2 update is pushed to my phone (its in the uk).
Thanks
Michael

http://www.android.gs/android-5-0-2...5-nexus-7-and-nexus-10-might-not-come-at-all/ and I think that should be like this. I have Nexus 7 2012 and I haven't noticed any difference beetwen 5.0 and 5.0.2. So, we are more expecting 5.1 actually.

5.0.2 was only a fix or two, mainly for the Nexus 7. Highly unlikely Google will push 5.0.2 factory images/OTA for other devices since it's almost pointless and would be a waste of bandwidth. Custom ROMs have merged 5.0.2 in anyways since it was no big deal.

LOL
Really find it hard to decide between this and my old moto g,
The nexus is blazing fast etc etc, but the moto felt just right in the hand and it was relatively cheap so i don't mind it being thrown around a bit.
