[Q] Tipo Dual Hanging/freezing problem - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Hi.
I bought Tipo Dual for my father few months ago. Then I decided to update it's firmware few days ago to newer version via official sony software and after that update phone started to hang and freeze, reboot itself. It almost impossible to use it.
I have tried to hard reset it, I unlocked bootloader, flashed stock firmwares with flashtool, flashed custom kernel, flashed Gimlo firmware few times (stock/custom) and so on. Nothing helped. Any suggestions?
Update: Flashed old firmware from here http://www.xperiablog.net/forum/resources/categories/xperia-tipo-dual.26/ via flashtool and it helped.

1. Delete task killers, antiviruses, ram boosters, battery boosters etc.
2. If you root device install app freezer and kill app like Facebook, Skype etc.
I had same problem on my Xperia J.

Thanks for your reply very much, but I never installed task killers, antiviruses, ram boosters, battery boosters etc. Skype also was never installed. Just facebook is preinstalled on stock rom, but never used, so may be it's another issue. Point is, that this dual sim phone is not so popular and noone creating custom rom for that and actually noone knows what to do with it. Custom roms are only based on stock ones. There is no for example AOKP or CyanogenMod based roms, which actually available for single sim version.
I have guess, that may be problem related to dual sim itself?

Maybe, main problems are sim 1 and 2 not being detected, so no network. But, even if youre on stock, you can still gain some speed increase.

Actually both of them are detected normally and there is not speed problem, just at some random moment its freezes and then rebooting. For example after 2 minutes of menu surfing. May be CPU damaged or something?

Maybe. Have you tried pc companion > repair? If it still doesnt work, you should ask sony service. Do not unlock bootloader before going to service.

I have tried pc companion - repair. And I unlocked because here, in Armenia there is not Sony service. And phone shipped to me from UAE.

Try reflash the new stock .ftf. Or, since youre already unlocked, go for custom rom + kernel.

As I said earlier, I tried and new stock rom, and old one, tried custom kernel, tried custom rom (based on stock). The only thing, that I have not tried is custom rom based not on stock, for example AOKP or CyanogenMod. But there isn't such rom available for dual sim Tipo
I have also tried the patch for touchscreen, that has mentioned as fix for such problem on tipo

Looks like theres a problem. Random reboots shouldnt happen if youre just browsing the menu in stock .ftf.

Yup, there is a problem. The worst thing is that smartphone was present from me to my father and I broke it.

Ok. What version did you get, before unlock bootloader? Try to use that old version .ftf.

I flashed old firmware (not the same, I had before) and it worked. It seems, that problem is in new updates.

[MIRO] Problem with the SIM card

To start of, I have been into rooting, installing custom ROMs and everything regarding it for quite a while but never ran into a problem like this. After Love posted his MIUI V5 I downloaded it and installed it. When it booted up I couldn`t unlock my SIM card due to a resolution error, you can`t see the "OK" nor "0" button. Then I switched to the Paranoid Android ROM ported and it booted up successfully. I went into options and changed settings regarding interface from "Phone mode" to "Phablet mode" as much as I remember it was the only thing I have done... Then when I had to reboot the phone, when it booted up, I inserted my PIN, but it showed something like "SIM card not inserted" and there was a popup which allowed me to reboot the phone. Now I can`t do anything about the problem. Tried switching back to the stock firmware and there I can unlock the SIM card without the "Reboot" prompt but still have no 3G access nor access to my contacts. I am asking you if you know anything about such a problem and if you have a fix for it. I also tried inserting a SIM from another phone, same problem- its not my SIM that is causing the problem. I think that it could do something with the radio, perhaps a component got corrupted somehow. Would really appreciate your help!
i also have the same problem on tipo caused from touchwiz rom, i am afraid only sony center are fixing this problem
I have spoken with my bro that has a Sony Erricsson Xperia X8 about the problem. He had the exactly same problem and he tried the same things as I did, but managed to fix the problem by relocking the bootloader and again unlocking it for further ROM installing. I will try and keep you updated.
Still nothing, nothing seems to help. Not even relocking the bootloader. Come on devs, can anyone at least try to assist us here? There seems to be something wrong with updating to another ROM. I would really appreciate some help here!
well yes i have also tried that locking and unlocking the BL, not just once about 10 times but still nothing, i tried almost everything and still have no clue, how to fix this
There is a fault in the ROMs, whichever caused this problem. I also saw the same thing happened to a Xperia J user with the MIUI v4.
Came across this today, I think some bring to light the issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39845122
Nice find mate. So basically we need the stock radio files that we can flash in order for the SIM card to work again? Correct me if I am mistaken, in case I am not, can any of the devs look into it to try providing us with the radio file? I am not really keen in waiting a month until the phone gets repaired... Anyone?
I think that i have the same problem with my Xperia TIPO. After unlocking the bootloader and try some ROMs i found that i can´t do any calls.
I have try with a stock rom and another rom, but it doesn´t work. And the problem is not the sim card...
I am going to try relocking the bootloader, but it looks that the problem is going to stand there.
P.S: Sorry about my English
Well, it certainly seems you have the same problem. I would like to point out at this problem as it seems that everyone will have this problem when flashing a couple of ROMs...
Here is a topic regarding the same problem but with the exception that it is a problem the guy has on an Xperia S instead of Miro. It seems that the MIUI v4 3.1.11 ROM fixed the problem for another user(reply number 3 or 4 in the link). One of the repliers copy-pasted a probable fix but the download link for the provided radio modules are down. I sent a PM to Love if he can get his MIUI V4 3.1.11 download link back online. Will post for further updates!
Any luck with this? I have the same problem on my Tipo, and have had it for a while now. I outlined my problem here. I have had contact with devitrified, who has the same problem, and he has some more details here.
In any case, it is heartening to know there's more people with this problem.
i believe there are many people with this problem... i didnt figured out fix almost 2 months

First of all thanks for posting something so everyone get to know that this problem exists, it seems like devs don`t really care or aren`t doing much to fix it. I hope that by time a lot of people will get this problem and that it will be fixed soon.
Is there any fix for this already?
It's really weird that no one said anything about this yet, since it's a problem that's being more and more widespread.
I have got a confirmation from the above poster that the problem stated in this topic started after flashing the Paranoid Android ROM for Sony Xperia Miro device. Can anyone else confirm the same thing?

mine problem became after installing touchwiz rom for tipo
This happened to me on Tipo (ST21i). I Flashed paranoid android fine, could a make call. Went looking around the settings and saw the page of DOOM, as i'm calling it, and there was no box checked, so I hit Phone mode and it asked whether it should reboot. I said yes, and then it broke. I thought it was the kernel so flashed pure CM10 kernel, which is what this port of P.A. was based on, and that didn't work, so I flashed MIUI port, but didn't do the kernel flashing, so it was on the CM10 Kernel. That didn't work and I couldn't enter my sim pin to try anyway, So I've flashed it again after flashing the kernel properly. Still didn't work. My grandad & mum are gonna be so angry. and it looks like I can't revert to stock, and Without stock it will cost a fortune to send it to sony. :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: :crying: . Keep me posted if you find a download for the modules.

[Q] Xperia E Dual ROMs

Hi.I have recently bought a Xperia E Dual, and, as I enjoy customization and efficiency, I have been trying to install custom roms on it. I really wanted the CM10 jjm34's or hsr0's ROMs, but it seems that I am a unlucky person. Every CM10 based ROM I try gives me the same problem: the deadly GSM bug. Here is what happens:
- I flash the stock rom with the right firmware (11.3.A.2.1)
- Flash a recovery (usually the one that comes with the ROM, have tried already
- Boot to recovery, wipe data and cache, flash zip from sd.
Alright, it works. But for the five times I tried, the deadly network bug comes, usually 1h-1day after the installation.
Here is what I get:
- Blank IMEI
- Can't select any subscription at SIM selection
- Network Unkown
- Can't make any call/send messages/connect to E/2g/3g/etc
The first time it happened, was just random. Simply stopped working. The second time was when I was accepting a call. The other ones happened just like those 2.
I can't seem to find a solution to it. I see some people with the same problem, but no one has the actual answer. Some say to wipe cache/data, wipe dalvik cache, reflash the ROM and etc, but the only way it really works for me is to flash the stock rom again and start over. I can't keep with this.
Do you guys think it's a kernel problem? Can you think of anything I could try? Please?
I'm asking for your help.
Thank you.
You can try to flash 11.3.A.2.23 (SS firmware) instead of 11.3.A.2.1 at the very first step.
I dunno if it'll work or not, since I don't own a Dual, but its worth a shot.
(It rid me if the network bug)

[Q] Unrecognized SIM card

Hey guys,
So I got a quite annoying problem and I already spent quite some time searching the forums and google without results. Either the solutioins didn't work or the cases I found were unsolved.
Anyway, here is the story.
I have a xperia tipo (st21i) and I rooted it and unlocked the bootloader and flashed several kernels and roms to find the one I'm most comfortable with.
I used: CM 10.0, paranoid android, super jelly bean and performa v4 in case this is of any interest.
I decided to go with cm 10.0 and it worked fine until after one reboot suddenly my SIM card was unrecognized and it said I should restart the phone with a valid SIM card. I flashed different ROM's and went back to stock now but the problem persists. I really ran out of ideas and since I'm not really skilled and rich of knowledge beyond the point of flashing and the rough structure of android I'm a bit helpless here.
Any help is really appreciated and thanks in advance
P.S.: first post
I don't know if it would work but you can try it
Try flashing ics ftf it should work fine..
follow this may work
first flash the original .ftf file then flash cm10 :fingers-crossed:
This happened to me aswell, but it was a while ago, when I wasn't even rooted yet. Went to the shop to ask about it from them and they said SIMs can go outdated or something.. They gave me a new one and it was fixed. But if you decide to ask them about this, make sure you are on stock ROM and locked bootloader, also unrooted. Because if not, your device isn't under warranty, and they can blame it on that

So you are saying it's due to my SIM? It still works perfectly fine in my other phone (a samsung galaxy xcover s5690). The phone was used when I got it and I don't have any receipt or anything so I don't have warranty on my phone anyway right? Should I still visit a shop?
I also tried ICS and it didn't work either. I got the ftf file from that link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/development/rom-official-st21a-america-firmwares-t2302630
I tried flashing different kernels and roms already even after it refused to take my SIM but nothing helped. It didn't fell down or anything so I don't think anything went loose inside. Could it still be due to hardware failure?
heeey
I got almost the same problem
few weeks ago i found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/development/sony-xperia-tipo-dual-t2594389
about making custom roms works tipo dual by making it 1 sim not 2 well its ok with me so i used it and all was perfect
custom rom - working gsm - fast - smooth like i dont need anything else
but yesterday well my annoying gf was spamming calls while i was sleeping so i turned airplane mode On
then after i wake up i turned it off and suddenly the device can't recognize the sim any more the same problem this dude got
so i tried everything like tryin to swap the sim place - installing new rom - restore my old stock rom - hard reset - testing the sim - so i tried installing the last update stock ftf which is 11.0.A.6.5 i think it's like this using flash tools anyway it worked and the problem is solved now the phone is workin with no problems u should try it

[Q] Strange problem with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Wireless tethering

Lately, I'm experiencing a lot of problems with my Xperia L. For one, when I turn on Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, the phone just hangs for about five minutes before finally activating them. The same case applies to when I activate a wireless hotspot on my device. When I tap on 'enable wireless tethering', the phone completely hangs. This has really started getting on my nerves! :crying:
Also, when I capture multiple photos from my camera, I'm finding that some images are automatically rotated. I have to manually rotate them, which, of course, is no child's play.
Another issue that I'm facing is that the phone's gotten a bit unresponsive. It doesn't fire up applications like it previously did (not that I have many apps installed too. Just 4).
All this has got me thinking, was the Xperia L a waste of money? No firmware upgrades coupled with tons of bugs!
Should I risk it and go for a custom ROM? I really need some advice, fellow users! Please reply as soon as possible! :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

I Also have this problem with WIFI and Bluetooth. Cant switch em on. I was on 4.2.2 update...
At first WIFI & BT are fine. About 2 weeks ago it starts restarting. When I'm lucky enough to reach inside the Setting and use phone for sometime, I tried to turn on wifi... Phone hangs... then restart.. Sometimes it takes several "auto" restart before i can operate the phone. But after those, everytime I turn on WIFI.. it hang/restart. Also happen w/ bluetooth.
I tried flashing/downgrade to 4.1.2 stock rom w/ flashtool. The restarting stopped/fixed... BUT, there's no way I can turn on wifi. i keeps switched off everytime i tried.
Finally, I installed CM11 kitkat cw. Everything looks new and fine ans smooth.. BUT... still cannot switch on wifi! and bluetooth!! >.<
I dont know what to do. Is this a hardware problem?? or is there a fix/zip i can flash to fix this??

I resolved the issue! It's going to sound extremely silly, but it worked wonders for me.
Basically, I deleted all downloaded apps that require a 'Full internet access' permission (The one with the WiFi icon), and viola! WiFi and Bluetooth work wonders now. I noticed this problem when I uninstalled Cleaner Master, and WiFi and Bluetooth jumped to life.
This is, however, a major setback. I can now download only a limited number of apps..
But hey, at least WiFi and Bluetooth work, so I've got that going, which is nice...
Any reasons why this may be happening guys?

You should perform a clean install of latest stock ftf. Looks like there's a problem with your kernel too. So flashing will put a new life to your phone. Remember to do clean install of firmware including kernel and wipe data alongwith resetting customizations.

[HELP] Need help, Xperia L not picking up any signal

Hello everyone!
I've started playing a bit with my Xperia L as I use it now as my backup phone and wanted to customize it a bit (tried several roms, rooted it, installed a recovery, tried some more roms... )
I went back to stock rom recently because I wasn't sure I'd be able to use it with my smartwatch, but ever since I went back to stock my phone can't pick any signal from any network!! I tried several sims but to no avail... tried flashing another stock rom from xperifirm but no success either.... same thing when I tried through pc companion.
The phone is wotking fine each time EXCEPT for the network! also, I had troubles entering flash mode recently, no matter how long I would press the vol-down button
Any help would be greatly appreciated please~ would be a shame to trash this otherwise very good phone!
PS: excuse my English I'm not native ^^'

Do you have the same problem on custom ROMs?

No, I haven't unlocked the bootloader actually, so I didn't get to try custom roms. Really interested by serajr's roms though but I'd rather fix the issue with signal first

Tried that but to no avail... even tried rebooting the phone after each change (tried the different options, 3G only, 2G only, 3G/2G) but still not working :/ any ideas?

First try the SIM card on other phone
If it works put it back on your phone and check out if the IMEI is available
Type *#06# in dialer
Insert the sim card with a tiny piece of paper on top of it so it doesn't move. I had a similar problem and this fixed it.

Ok so the SIM card is working, tried it on another phone, no problem. I checked the IMEI after putting it back in the xperia L and it's available too.
Also, @stuckbootloader, tried your fix too but to no avail :/
Hello guys~ Any other idea?
