[Q] Xperia E Dual ROMs - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Hi.I have recently bought a Xperia E Dual, and, as I enjoy customization and efficiency, I have been trying to install custom roms on it. I really wanted the CM10 jjm34's or hsr0's ROMs, but it seems that I am a unlucky person. Every CM10 based ROM I try gives me the same problem: the deadly GSM bug. Here is what happens:
- I flash the stock rom with the right firmware (11.3.A.2.1)
- Flash a recovery (usually the one that comes with the ROM, have tried already
- Boot to recovery, wipe data and cache, flash zip from sd.
Alright, it works. But for the five times I tried, the deadly network bug comes, usually 1h-1day after the installation.
Here is what I get:
- Blank IMEI
- Can't select any subscription at SIM selection
- Network Unkown
- Can't make any call/send messages/connect to E/2g/3g/etc
The first time it happened, was just random. Simply stopped working. The second time was when I was accepting a call. The other ones happened just like those 2.
I can't seem to find a solution to it. I see some people with the same problem, but no one has the actual answer. Some say to wipe cache/data, wipe dalvik cache, reflash the ROM and etc, but the only way it really works for me is to flash the stock rom again and start over. I can't keep with this.
Do you guys think it's a kernel problem? Can you think of anything I could try? Please?
I'm asking for your help.
Thank you.

You can try to flash 11.3.A.2.23 (SS firmware) instead of 11.3.A.2.1 at the very first step.
I dunno if it'll work or not, since I don't own a Dual, but its worth a shot.
(It rid me if the network bug)

Thank you

I remember someone saying that SS firmwares don't work with DS (Not even 1 sim works).
But I think I'll try it, though. Thank you for your help.

[Q] Miro rebooting on CM10 lockscreen.

I'm using FXP215 on Xperia Miro.
Every time I use the lock button or the phone locks itself, and I try to wake it up later to unlock it, it reboots.
It happened on earlier releases of FXP. It also happens if I use a third party lockscreen like WidgetLocker, while it uses the integrated lock system. (If WidgetLocker is set on Easy Wake Mode, this does not happen)
Before FXP, Miro was on stock 11.0.A.5.5 (4.0.4).
I'm not new to flashing CM, I had an Xperia Sola before, no problems.
What am I doing wrong? Is this happening to someone else on Miro with FXP?
Someone from India PM'd me about this problem. I tried helping but no luck. Stick with stock.

¿Can anybody tell the indian guy I found what I was doing wrong?
Ok, so the next day after I flashed ParanoidAndroid ROM, phone rebooted itself again, in the middle of the day.
Back to the beginning.
I realized I was using one of the two CWM posted in this forum, and their versions are old (one of them's still beta)
So after some googling, I found this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003069
Just had to flash the most recent version for Miro (v6) and flash again CyanogenMod.
Problem solved. I'm a happy dwarf.
Enjoy

I am having the same problem. I am already using the version of CWM from the link you provided but it still reboots randomly when I lock the screen. At first I thought it was when I plugged in the charger asthe charging LED lights when screen on and plugged in but soon as screen off the LED goes off too. Any suggestions on what I could be doing differently???

[Q] Tipo Dual Hanging/freezing problem

Hi.
I bought Tipo Dual for my father few months ago. Then I decided to update it's firmware few days ago to newer version via official sony software and after that update phone started to hang and freeze, reboot itself. It almost impossible to use it.
I have tried to hard reset it, I unlocked bootloader, flashed stock firmwares with flashtool, flashed custom kernel, flashed Gimlo firmware few times (stock/custom) and so on. Nothing helped. Any suggestions?
Update: Flashed old firmware from here http://www.xperiablog.net/forum/resources/categories/xperia-tipo-dual.26/ via flashtool and it helped.

Thanks for your reply very much, but I never installed task killers, antiviruses, ram boosters, battery boosters etc. Skype also was never installed. Just facebook is preinstalled on stock rom, but never used, so may be it's another issue. Point is, that this dual sim phone is not so popular and noone creating custom rom for that and actually noone knows what to do with it. Custom roms are only based on stock ones. There is no for example AOKP or CyanogenMod based roms, which actually available for single sim version.
I have guess, that may be problem related to dual sim itself?
Maybe, main problems are sim 1 and 2 not being detected, so no network. But, even if youre on stock, you can still gain some speed increase.

Actually both of them are detected normally and there is not speed problem, just at some random moment its freezes and then rebooting. For example after 2 minutes of menu surfing. May be CPU damaged or something?

Maybe. Have you tried pc companion > repair? If it still doesnt work, you should ask sony service. Do not unlock bootloader before going to service.

Try reflash the new stock .ftf. Or, since youre already unlocked, go for custom rom + kernel.

As I said earlier, I tried and new stock rom, and old one, tried custom kernel, tried custom rom (based on stock). The only thing, that I have not tried is custom rom based not on stock, for example AOKP or CyanogenMod. But there isn't such rom available for dual sim Tipo
I have also tried the patch for touchscreen, that has mentioned as fix for such problem on tipo

[Q] No SIM card detected Xperia E C1505 Nanhu

Hey guys, first of all a big hello to everyone, since this is my first post here on XDA!
I've been on this forum for a while, but it's only since now that I really can't figure things out anymore on my own, or trough other posts.
Now the situation:
I've got a sony Xperia E C1505 (codename Nanhu) (that's single SIM)
which is not running well even on stock software. On stock software (ROM version 11.3.A.0.47) the phone keeps freezing after a while, say 10 seconds after the reboot. When it freezes, it instantly reboots.
I got tired of this rebooting phone and first flashed Firefox O.S. to see what it looks like. It's quiete awesome but I didnt have any radio's... Anyways ATLEAST it didnt freeze on me.
So I flashed back again to the stock 11.3.A.0.47, to see myself run into the freezing problems AGAIN!
This time I decided that I'd flash CM10 to see what it does.
So far I came across 2 different versions:
- JB version (by jjim, am I correct?)
- FXP version (by FXP)
I've been running FXP228 now and it works flawlessly! Everything works, every radio is intact and even the camera app works.
But.. *drumroll..* here's the thing; My SIM card does not get detected. It doesen't even ask me for a PIN at startup!
I've downloaded this 3rd party app for my SIM info, it says the following:
SIM state: UNKNOWN
Phone Type: GSM
Network type: UNKNOWN
The IMEI is correct though
The baseband is correct aswell, atleast I believe so.
Btw, I live in the Netherlands and my SIM card is from Vodafone. I've already tested this card in another phone, it works as it should.
What can I do to make the SIM-Card be detected? I've scoured the forums looking for solutions.. Sadly enough, I only came across this which was my closest approach to my problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277279
I also noticed this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2209767
Anyway's.. I'm sort of stuck right now. The next step for me is to try n flash FXP 220..
If anyone's got a direct solution or workaround for me on this stage, I'd be happy.
Also, some explainment around the whole JB rom's would be nice. I understand that I first have to flash a modified stock ROM from JB to install CM10 ? Where can I get this .TFT file? I've already searched in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2326830 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2330638 but I don't get much wiser out of it.
Looking forward to your responses!

Edit: SOLVED!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2276943
I used the xperia_e_single_jb_cwm.elf first, then i flashed nanhu-CM10DS-0.8.1.33-ota.zip
After 2 reboots it finally got into the home screen, asked me for the PIN straight away and works like a charm.
Many thanks to jjim
Hope this helps for a future user.
Things i have tried:
- Flash FXP firmware versions; (failed)
- 220 (failed)
- 224 (no gsm)
- 228 (no gsm)
- Restore stock over and over (failed)
- Modify stock (failed)
- Modified the FXP firmware with modem.zip files from the stock and re-flashed (failed)
- Flashed JB firmware. SUCCES!!!!
Greetings Ruud from the Netherlands
Why don't you just relock bootloader and apply for warranty
I'm sure it's been just a couple of months since Xperia E is released
Is there anything that stops you from applying warranty?:what::what:
Sent from my C1604 using xda app-developers app
I couldnt apply this phone for warranty because the previous user / owner already messed around with this phone.
Same to me. I've tried FXP238 and still no GSM network detected
Hey man, thanks a lot with your post, Im having exactly the same problem.
I have tried with FXP241 with no lock detecting the SIM card.
I downloaded the files you posted. Flashed the jjm34 boot+recovery and then installed the CM10DS file you mentioned. During the install I had the error "symlink: some symlinks failed"
Did you have the same problem?
Thanks!

Hi Everyone,
I have purchased my Xperiz Z 'C6602' in the start of this year (2014). Yesterday, I faced a problem that my mobile was showing no Sim card detection. I have restarted my mobile many times, open the Sim slot and again placed it corrected but the problem persists. I have reset my mobile, check the aeroplane mode but all is well. I am wondering that how this happened because my mobile was working great. I used it at night very well and then after some hours at morning the mobile showed no network connection (detect no Sim) while the Sim was in the Sim Slot.
Please tell me the solution of this problem. Thanks
i got no signal at c1605 (dual)

[Q] Bootloop struck me.

Hey Guys,
today I was playing with my Xperia L, as it shut down because battery went empty.
It is unlocked and rooted and i installed the deodexed apps mod and vengeance kernel
i loaded it up and tried to switch it on but it didnt work - Bootloop.
I tried several things, started by flashing stock and repaired via sus (on my old phone that always worked, but XL has a different bootloader so whatever sus didnt start)
then i flashed the 5.0.A.1.31 file general cust. and didnt boot up.
then vengeance Kernel and the new rom and i just see it booted.
Now i wanna know if that shutdown could have caused that the system couldnt be loaded? kernel and else worked.

ps no unfortunately i cannot serve with any logs or similar...
fixed it by flashing the rom (vengeanceraptorx) and then teflashing this special ftf

[Q] GSM support for alien rom on xperia J

[Q] Is there any way to get GSM network to work on cyanogen based Alien rom, in xperia j?
I just rooted my Xperia J 4.1.2 (.31) yesterday and went ahead with AVD which supposed to be based on stock xperia rom. But unfortunately its was a bit buggy. SystemUI.apk suddenly stops working and many apps kept crashing on me .. few other roms like slim were asking to be downgraded to ICS which i dont want to... then came Alien rom to my rescue. this rom is really clean not to mention the Acid Audio ENgine and stuff ...T____T I so badly want to keep this rom its ****ing perfect..!!! if only if the GSM would work, which while installing i didn't know that no cyanogenmod 10 based rom has GSM support !
Now i'm whining here because i just want someone more knowledgeable than me to give me the confirmation that that i have absolutely no other choice, other than going back to the AVD. LIke the GSM fix for the ICS baseband is there positively NOTHING out there for JB :crying:
You need to downgrade to ics first, then flash any cm10 based rom, or gsm.will not work.

getting out of alien rom and reinstalling AVD i screwd up and soft bricked my phone.
SO i had to use a pc to reflash the stock JB. BUt that has locked the bootloader again coz the PC companion can detect my phone again.
so just need to confirm certain things...
SO if i flash stock ICS then i will have to unlock my bootloader again right...? I presume i will have to root my phone too all over again... ? before installing the rom ?
PLease HELP!!!
Ok this is sooo irritating...!!! T____T
I flashed my phone with 4.0.4 ICS, st26i_11.0.a.3.18_global.ftf form Matej X's 4shared folder.
http://www.4shared.com/folder/25Mb7Dws/Xperia_J.html
the ST26i_11.0.A.7.5_CE.ftf from that folder when put into firmwares folder of flashtools, doesn't even show up !!!
i figured to root st26i_11.0.a.3.18_global.ftf from this guide http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033114&highlight=st26i+root+ics
but not inspite of downgrading to ics, when i installed MIUI5 rom i'm i'm getting no simcard ad hense GSM is not working all manually scanned networks are shown as "UNKNOWN" !
Now i have flashed back to stock ICS rom...
when i flast the stock rom using flashtool the simlock.ta file gets ignored. what's up with that, wherever i have read about its not supposed to be a issue...
Can someone help me this is really getting frustrating....
Can some one help me find the link for ST26i_11.0.A.7.5_CE.ftf ICS stock rom which will be detected by flashtool...
MIUI5 was really nice, I would like to use it. Its based on cyanogenmod10 fxp 226 ... My issue with that is i use the instruction here to install it, but its condusing.
https://sites.google.com/site/projectfreexperia/download/howto-install
It says "6.Wipe device
from cm9 device wipe is necessary only at first flash or when you switch cm version
!!! if after boot you experience ForceClose then is recomended to reboot to recovery and wipe device
7.Partition format
is not recomended to format your partitions unless you are advised to do otherwise"
Now in CWM what do i have to wipe...???
There are too many options to wipe....
1. wipe data/factory rest
2. wipe catch partition
Under advanced
Wipe delvic catch ...
Which and all am i supposed to wipe ?
Please bare with me guys i'm at my witt's end here...T____T
I just want one CM 10 based rom working for me... That's all ...
Here's the thing mate, AlienRom works perfectly fine for me. Just flash over stock ICS and Not JB and select Use 2G network on settings. Give it another try , oh and I highly discourage MIUI, it may look pretty but it is lag as hell. Browser takes sooo long to load and so lag

Hey Racer X,
I was thinking about the same thing... Alien rom is the only rom where i encoutered absolutely "0" lag, Brilliant work there man thanks a lot.
Would it be possible to flash it directly on rooted 11.0.a.3.18 ICS because i'm not able to root ST26i_11.0.A.7.5_CE.ftf with any tutorial here...
SO far i have tried this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2071817
and the other option being flashing to stock 11.0.A.7.5 and using Unlockroot.exe
But windows won't even detect the exe file and Google chrome's calling it a malicious file and won't let me download it .
SO i have sort of hit a roadblock with 11.0.a.7.5
So i was hoping i can flash alien rom straight on rooted 11.0.a.3.18 ICS, which i rooted with this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033114&highlight=st26i+root+ics
Omg...!!! I did it ... :d
OMG... I just went ahead and did it... this is sooo f****** AWWWWSOME...!!!
Now i have Alien rom with GSM WORKING !!!:good:
I didn't even go for 7.5 i just stuck with .18 and went to alien rom 4.1.2
BTW can i keep the cyanogenmod upates setting to weekly or should i keep it at manual/???
I don't want to loose the gms connection just coz it updated on its own ... ?
What do you think ?
