I can't seem to find a case listed anywhere that says it fits the GS4 with the wireless charging back on it. Has anyone seen any listed anywhere?
I'm not interested in the third party hack solutions to getting wireless charging working with the stock cover. I already ordered the official one and I'm just trying to find a case that works with it installed.
I saw one guy in other topic on this same forum the one about cases and wireless charging say that he got a tpu case and it fit fine.

I tried to soldier through that thread, thinking there would be something in there, but it had gone completely off the rails for pages, talking about modding the existing back cover for wireless charging.
I have a Cruzerlite TPU case, but somehow I doubt it will fit. It's snug on my GS4 now.
I think he said it was a diztronic black tpu case or how ever you spell it.
I know he said it fit fine he had a link to Amazon in the post too

There are reports that the diztronic does not fit well with the extended battery and a glass screen protector though. Also the Diztronic eats edge to edge screen protectors.

I don't think you will find one with a perfect fit, tpu, silcon or soft rubber is your only chance.
no company is going to make a case especially for the wireless cover, the market is too small.

The wireless cover is just a add on accessory or a gimmick to most people, most people who choose wireless feature for the S4 prefer to use the third party receivers, being thinner and uses your existing cover and works with most cases.
As for cases that accommodate this cover, even samsung have no intention of releasing one.

Please show me conclusive data that supports your claim that "most people" prefer modding their phones as opposed to using the official accessory to get wireless charging.
Was there an official poll conducted by a reputable company to determine this? Did you personally survey an unbiased sample of the community? No. Your preferences are not automatically everyone else's preferences.
People will buy the official accessory and manufacturers will make cases for it, just like they make cases for phones people don't even buy.
And if wireless charging was such a gimmick, it wouldn't be included on an increasing number of phones, like the Optimus G Pro that I'm sending this from.

You do not need to mod your phone for third part wireless receiver, and I don't think we need to go in detail about actual claims or data, there are a few threads on wireless charging, just read through the whole thread.
Please indicate where you have the information that cases are being made for them, or any companies that have the intention to make them.

So the entire foundation for your claim that "most people" want to use third party solutions is a few threads on XDA? Got it.
I forgot that the people who post on XDA represent the entire customer base for a product.
My claims are based on common sense. Manufacturers make cases for phones that barely sell (Kyocera Echo, HTC First, etc) and they make cases for variations of the same phone from different carriers (Galaxy S II, etc), just as they will the Galaxy S4 Active and any other variations Samsung releases. Someone will make a case specifically for the GS4 with the wireless back, or something that's universal and I'd be surprised if it wasn't more than one manufacturer.

I not here to create a argument, but just to show my point of view on this situation, looking in the pass, official extended battery were very popular with S2 and S3, but no companies have bothered to product cases to accommodate them,
The life cycle for samsung to release a new galaxy phone is like every 6 months, whiles the S series is like evey year, I don't think companies will spend time and money on this.

Yeah, I got a little carried away. My point was that the GS4 is still going to be one of the most popular phones of the year and their flagship until this time next year. I'd honestly be surprised if a case manufacturer didn't make a case to accommodate the new back. If it was some other phone, like the Optimus G Pro (which doesn't get anywhere near enough love), it wouldn't surprise me, but the GS4 is basically the iPhone of Android now. All apps are developed to work with Galaxy phones first, and it gets an insane number of accessories.
I don't even like my GS4. It lags and stutters and pissed me off. But I'm sure it's still selling plenty.

Don't forget we will have the S5, S6 and so on, these will always be a best seller, any add-on that makes a phone exterior bigger than the actual phone will have little support for protection from other manufacturer.
I believe we will have one soon.

I am currently using a spigen neo hybrid case with the oem wireless charging battery cover. Nfc works as does wireless charging. There's a slight buldge in the rear tpu but that was expected. The front is still pretty much normal and still sits a few thousandths of an inch from the spigen tempered glass plate. Just make sure you center the camera and flash when you install the tpu and the housing pretty much will lock it in place.

I have the OEM charging back and it works with a CIMO TPU case, although not perfectly. the sides do not come up all the way on the sides but it holds on the corners and will work until the proper cases are made. For $7 on amazon...what have you to lose? Also have the OEM Samsung protective case + and it does not work with charging back.

Here's the response from Spigen. I am not surprised at all, they shouldn't be allowed to market these as customizable unless they offer them...

Figures, I had to buy 2 cases so I could get different frames. I really want the slate one so its either I buy a whole new case, ebay, or they actually live up to the "CUSTOMIZABLE" advertising.
I wonder how close the eBay knockoffs would be to fit that.
What's the point of them being changeable if you can't easily replace them?
Having to buy a whole new case does not make it customizable. Its just that... a new case. False advertising if you ask me. That said I'll still buy one. 1 and only one. I don't see the need myself to have a dozen different colors or styles. I'm not a girl and I don't care about it matching my outfits so I just usually by one maybe 2 per phone and its usually spaced out over months before I get the second one. Just my preference.

I bought an eBay knock off in hopes they'd be compatible. The volume/power button is part of the TPU on the fake while on the authentic it's part of the frame.
I'm going to say they won't fit unless you do some adjustments yourself.
Sent from my Ancient Atrix 4G.
All I can say is contact them, If they see demand they will offer them. And I agree, they shouldn't get to market something as customizable if they aren't going to offer the frames on their own.

Don't give up hope guys. When I was on the iPhone 5, that's what they said about the Slim Amor about selling the back plates separate. But then again that was the Slim Amor and not the Neo Hybrid. Maybe if we bug you them enough they may consider it. Wouldn't hurt to try
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
After a hour on the phone they are sending me a new TPU to replace the one I have now(warping issues from heat around camera lense and flash, which they specifically advertise that this case will not do). I also was able to get a whole new neo hybrid case with a different color polycarbonate from the one I own now for 40% off. People who have a issue with TPU warping and that they advertise this case as customizable without selling the polycarbonate bumper seperately NEED to call and complain. Plain and simple the way that this case is presented on Spigens site is bait and switch. Supposedly in the future they will be selling the polycarbonate shell seperately but until they see a demand they will not sell it solo. Make your voice heard if you want something done!

I agree with most of people here. If they don't sell it separately frames why they have the ref numbers of which frame on the site. And why on the case ad says it can't be change. And I'm not a girl but I do like to change frames colour because I get really bored if I stick with the same many weeks. I have to change. It's me sorry. If they don't plan on sell it separately they shouldn't put the the separate frames ref on the site

I've got 2 of them that I use on my Note 3 with wireless charging cover (1 at home, 1 at work) - they're both great.
I bought one off Amazon for ~$40 and another for ~$25 on some daily deal site. Well worth the investment to not have to futz around with cables.
Only thing I see so far is that Samsung isn't offering the wireless charging back for the S5 yet; with the Note 3, it took them a month or two after launch to put them online for purchase and even then, they were backordered.

I've got a close friend who works at the samsung experience shop within the local best buy and he had training last week on the s5 and its accessories. He said they are expecting the charging back in store within a week of launch. Good news is the first one that come in has my name on it so hopefully I dont have to contend with too much.
If you get a wireless charging back does it make the phone too thick for traditional 3rd party cases. What I want to do is get a wireless charging back plate and then put a case around the whole phone. Is that possible?

I had an S4 (and Note3) with wireless charging back covers and cases on both...SOME cases work.
For the S4, I was able to use Cruzerlite TPU cases with no problem. Any of the hard cases didn't work for me (Spigen) and I even tried the multi-piece cases (TPU + hard bumper) but the only ones that worked were Cruzerlite TPU.
In fact, I'm so sure that the S5 will work with Cruzerlite and a wireless charging back cover, I already bought a new case.

It's samsung's way of making more money, i prefer a receiver insert, it's thinner and i've been using them with all my phones.
I will be picking a few up in the next few days in china, need to check what the quality is like.

Really??? I got one for my S4 and it was awful - so thick that the case bulged out in the middle of the back...so much that the phone didn't lay flat on the table anymore.
Even though the Samsung battery cover is a little thicker overall, at least it's symmetrical and doesn't look home-made.

Most important thing of course we ALL want to know with these Qi-charging covers are: "The Wireless Battery Cover was designed by Samsung to seamlessly match the look and feel of your Galaxy S 5 ensuring that your phone maintains its original style and slim profile. In addition, Samsung has incorporated sealing rubber into the battery cover to retain the Galaxy S 5’s water resistance."
Please sticky this at least for the first quarter as it is a list of the Official products.

Im hoping this little line in their description means that the wireless back wont add too much to the phone to prevent the use of normal cases.
Here's the link to the black wireless back, just needed to change the W to a B in the product number =)
We need to know if it adds bulk and if standard cases can be used. I have a QI charging pad that I use with an insert in my S3. I'm guessing my charging pad will work with this back?

Yep. Another money making ploy. If the nexus 7 can do it, Samsung could certainly do it.
Problem is, even the thinnest wireless adapter creates somewhat of a bulge, which could ruin the water resistant seal

If samsung starts making them standard out of the box, then it's standard size and any case will fit, even the water resistant seal.
so there won't be people asking questions, will this bulge or will this case fit as with the S3, S4, note 2 and note 3. but as usual it will never happen with samsung at present, may be in the near future.
Like the Note 3, with the wireless charger you won't see the bump where the camera lens are. It will be flat which is a good thing for me.
Hello does anybody know if the s5 wireless charging cover adds thickness like the s4 one did? As in cases wont fit?
am I missing something here or have people simply not read the description?

Yes. Most places will have them on the 11th. Check amazon, mobile fun and usual places.
words matter
The problem is that "original style and slim profile" is inexact and open to interpretation. Proper wording would be helpful. Something like "original style and exact form factor" or "identical physical specification" or even ""will not affect fitment with standard phone cases"....words matter.
Any one want to put money the wireless charging case will be thicker? There has to be some extra depth to accommodate the charging coil. On the standard back I can't see Samsung deliberately make back thick so it lines up with the wireless one.

I'll be waiting for the second batch of the device, because I want to see reviews, and to avoid any possible quality control issues that might initially exist. With this in mind, I obviously want to protect my investment, what with being a student on a budget. As such, I want to really protect my screen. In fact, just last week I shelled out an unplanned $120 to replace the screen on my S3 i9300, which fell face down in its ZeroLemon battery case. The screen wasn't cracked, but it was damaged in terms of the pixels. It started out with a purple spot, and got progressively worse overnight, to where it was totally black, and unusable. Does anyone know if a Ballistic, Trident, or UAG case will be made available for the 6P? Are there any other ideas as to the type of case I'm looking for, besides those I mentioned?
Thanks!

I sent an email to the manufacture today, I didn't yet get a response. One other buyer on Amazon (via a review) reported he got contacted back by the manufacture, and he pasted an email from them stating the photo is only a prototype. Nexus 6P Case, SUPCASE Google Nexus 6P Case Cover (2015 Release) Unicorn Beetle Series Premium **Slim** Hybrid Protective Case / Bumper (Frost/Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015X90UJS/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_IyzdwbKVQ6MSY

In the image attached to this post is the email I received back from the manufacture. As others have already posted their responses they got back also. Happy to know this case will work fully with the 6p and its laser focus.
I ordered a clear one that needs the opening trimmed (or sent back). I kind of like this one with red accents, looks like the opening is wide enough.

Posted this in another thread here earlier today, but figured I'd put it here since it pertains to the Verus case render:
Just FYI. It looks like Verus has updated the render on their Amazon listing: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015GHQGM2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00.
So glad I picked this up for $2 a few days ago.
Got my clear case today: http://www.amazon.com/LK-Scratch-Re...443751243&sr=8-4&keywords=Nexus+6p+clear+case
Looks easy to make a template to cut an opening wide enough. It's crystal clear, may not effect IR anyway.
Edit: Manufactures just sent email. Said to toss what they shipped and will send replacement that doesn't block the laser focus in 2 weeks (before the 6P arrives).

Thanks!

I emailed UAG already and are not planning on making a case for the 6P.

Anybody find any photos of the Nexus 6p wearing the official cases yet?
I ordered the carbon, would be nice to see how it looks on the device.
My clear case from Amazon. Should be a simple exacto fix once I know how wide to cut. I'm going to love the 6P, only slightly wider than my N5, and who cares how long it is (especially with superior speakers on front!).

After using a case mate naked tough case on my nexus 6 I was looking at getting a case with a kick stand for media consumption and so far not seen any for the 6p. If anyone has seen one can you let me know. Iv ordered a cheap one for the time being to offer some protection but it is only meant as a temporary until I can find one I actually want and fits the bill for my needs

I've seen a few on Amazon with kickstands.
http://amzn.com/B015K7XRUM

Do a deeper search than I did and I bet you'll find more. Most of these seem to be the extremely bulky case types, which don't interest me personally. One case I had for the Nexus 6 which had a kickstand but was also slim was the Seidio Surface case. http://www.seidioonline.com/motorola-nexus-6-surface-kickstand-case-garnet-red-p/csr3mtn6k-gr.htm You might want to contact them and see if they plan on making a N6P case. I'll vouch for Seidio - they make pretty good products. I've even deployed them with iPhones at work.
Thanks, none of those are on Amazon UK as far as I know but il keep looking

I saw something recently about how a lot of the early cases are blocking important parts of the sensor/antenna bar (the black bar on the back of the phone). Does anyone know how much of the bar needs to be exposed to not impede functionality?
And to the OP, I've had a kickstand case with my last two phones, and last two tablets, and I just can't go back to a device without it now. So thanks for starting this thread.

I have found that many of these are preproduction images, so I wouldn't rely on the current pictures to show me anything more than a rough idea of what the final product will generally look like. Several product images have already changed on Amazon's site.
Wait until the middle / end of October for all the companies to get the products finalized. This forum already has several threads with replies from manufacturers saying designs aren't final. They are just trying to ensure they get their piece of the pie on early and preorder case dollars when they list products this early on Amazon.

Gotcha, thanks for the info.
Real interested in the i-Blason case since I'm looking for a hybrid case with a kickstand that gives me peace of mind without Nexus protect.
However I emailed them aobut the laser AF problem and got this:
Dear Customer
I cannot guarantee that will not block it. I have not information concerning this problem.
Thank you
CSR Team
Might try again in a few days...
Once Seidio releases their cases the Surface should have a kickstand. Using that case now on my S4 and love it.

Sigh... No news on these? I only see the the moko and caseformers..... Anything more fancy and slim as i don't think seidio is making one

This one on amazon appears to be slim, and has a kickstand too:

Based on the picture, the laser autofocus appears to not be blocked.

Was thinking of it but looks very cheap
Plastic stand and i hate the silicon wrapped in Plastic.
I've seen nicer ones that are more costly by reputable companies but none for 6p
Bought a tpu for now from tudia.... Nice and slim but would like to have a spare with kickstand so I'll wait a bit more to see if anything comes up

A case with a stand will be ultimately what I get.
As I am getting a silver phone rather than a black one, I would really love a crystal clear case with stand! Although I'm sure this will never happen.
If you guys are wondering the quality of the caseformers, I have one for my Note 5 and did a quick review on YouTube. See for yourself.

Thanks.... How is it when laying flat in a desk. Seems like there is a bulge.. Does it wobble at all?

Spigen has a ring that attaches to any case (flat surface) that works as a kickstand and a grip helper for the phone. They also include a car mount with it. Here's the link

Great find! Thanks for the tip...
Also, Amazon has it cheaper, for $16, and one day delivery with Prime:

Doesn't it make it wobble when flat? Looked cool initially but I think it's a bit weird to carry 24/7 on such a nice phone. And I doubt it last forever if constantly removing it.
Thanks anyway though
I haven't received it yet, but I know that I will be using it as a kickstand, so what's the relevance of "lying flat"? It looks like if you stick it above center, but still out of the way of the Imprint sensor, it should sit on a table/desk at a very convenient angle in either orientation...

I just sometimes lay it flat and don't always use a kickstand. I enjoy it when I need it but not all the time.
I'd prefer a thin case that has a kickstand if and when needed.... But each use phone differently
