if you're able to get on the web, into the playstore, or other things...that means you at least have data...pull down on the notification bar iwth two fingers, or pull down with one finger and then tap the icon in the upper right hand corner that looks like a person with a couple of boxes around it...that'll switch you over to the quick toggle menu, there should be a toggle there that shows your signal...if you do have signal, go into settings and search for the slim bean settings, then look for "status bar" or something similar(i'm no longer using slim, but most of the roms are similar) and check in there to see if it got set to show nothing for your signal icon...change that and voila

I actually show 3G when I'm suppose to have 4G. Sorry I was not clearer in my post.

I would dial *#*#4636#*#*
Then in phone information look to see which network setting is chosen.

[Q] Removing the ICS search bar on root?

Is it possible, or would I have to flash a new ROM?
I need somehow to maintain the circle widget and remove the search bar, without disabling it.
I don't think their is any way other than to use a custom launcher (nova) but then you loose the circle widget.
Get titanium backup
Then all u have to do is freeze Google search
U have to be rooted
Works great..first thing I did on this phone and the OG razr

Doesn't that still leave the space at the top empty and unusable?
Yeah, I heard of that way, but doesn't that also disable the Google Now search, in addition to leaving that space unusable?

[Q] quick reply option gone after jelly bean update

Hi!
After I updated my p6800 to jelly bean, the quick reply option (where it shows an arrow beside the sms in the notification shade) seems to be gone. It's very convenient as it just launches the mini message app over the current app i'm using. I flashed the two updates available for us (philippines) and did factory reset a few times but nothing works.
Hope someone can help and just tell me that i'm just doing something wrong and point me to the right direction.
Thanks.
What Rom did you have before? I don't recall that feature in ics.

If you want mini apps, press Arrow and edit

On honeycomb, the quick reply would be a word near the sms on the notification shade as "reply". When pressed, it would launch the mini message app on top of whatever you were doing. On ics the word "reply" was changed to a curved arrow. Now on jelly bean the feature is now gone. I liked it a lot coz I prefer to text with this phone rather than calling.

Touch less Control!

Sooo Google and Motorola released the ApK for touch less control..it installs on my HD..but doesn't create a menu to use...any chance anyone can take a crack at modifying the all to work with our phones? I know open mic+ is available..but the official touch less control would be better

well considering OpenMic+ is employing similar ideas...but with low power usage..it only keeps power to the microphone... The X and Ultra series have the X8 system with a low power core for the microphone. ive opened up the apk file to see whats in it..but im not sure what im looking for.. need to download an XML editor.

I've never seen that happen. Honestly I would just say wait for someone else to give their opinion or just factory reset and try again. I've done this on multiple phones and I've never gotten an error. Maybe someone else has a direct answer to that error.

Droid Maxx Foxfi & battery life
Search is not working for me and didn't see any updates on Foxfi.. Is Foxfi working on the droid maxx yet and it the battery life as good as they say? I just got a samsung note 3 while the phone itself is awesome the signal strength is horrible and battery just okay..after you turn off all the fun stuff. I have a week left and might exchange it for the Droid maxx but wondering if that will be any better. Came from a droid bionic and loved it and had no reception problems like I am with the note 3.
Thanks for any help!

the problem is the WiFi icon is grey & is very difficult to put it on
Not sure if this will fix the problem since I have a slightly different phone (XT926) and I don't remember if my phone behaved as you described when it was having problems with wifi connectivity, but...
Try going into the wifi settings, click the menu (three vertical dots), select "advanced", then "WiFi frequency band" and select 2.4 GHz only.

What do you mean by WIFI ICON? Wifi switch in quick settings or Wifi signal icon?
Because there are problems with both these things.
Do you have internet access?
Please be more precise and then we can help you
