*Disclaimer: I'm new to xda and this is my first post*
About 3 days ago I attempted to update my SGH-T959V to 4.2.2 straight from froyo 2.2.1. Lesson learned. I bricked my phone but with the help of this thread, but as one can see, it recovers into GB 2.3.6. I think that may have been my problem because doing so, I lost my efs. I tried looking up how to get the efs back or at least get a new one (of course there's no back up), but the only way to do it requires me to have root access.
Okay, I tried rooting using superoneclick; stuck on step #5.

Next was the zurgerush and this happened
So now I can't even root to get the efs. I'm guessing I would need to flash back to stock froyo 2.2.1 but my guess isn't as good as lass than half of anyone on here.
Can a brotha get some help?
Please and thank you!:good:
You can one-click yourself to a rooted stock gingerbread rom
Follow the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29965568
the root issue can only be solved by either doing what pisher stated, or by simply flashing a kernel such as one of these

I S-OFFed my Desire S using XTC Clip because it was SIM locked and that was the only way to unlock it. Later I rooted stock 1.47 using superoneclick and installed clockwork recovery using ROM manager. 15 minutes ago I started OTA update, and now it is stuck on android robot with exclamation triangle.
What should I do? Wait? Plug USB? Hard reser using keys? I dont want to pull out the battery risking fried eMMC... Please help ASAP

Geeez, I wonnnder why. *insert sarcastic face*
You were on a rooted ROM. Do you really think HTC like us having rooted phones? .. I'll let that answer your question above.
As for fixing it, flash S-OFF hboot through fastboot, flash recovery through fastboot, flash a ROM through recovery.
Seeing as you must have bad eyesight I'll give you a link to the Q&A forum. Desire S Q&A

What should I do? Is there any other one-click app to root/unroot my device without computer and without the risk of being bricked? if there is any then please list it and give me a step by step tutorial of using it to root

It means your device cannot be rooted by this app. You have to go the official way

I know that....but what's the official way?

Rooting
First of all there will never be a official way for rooting and the word official from the above thread means find your device on the forum and search for the post about how to root.
Risk factor remains but if instructions are followed properly there will be no problems
Rooting without computer is not supported by all devices. It depends on procedures available to root the device you are using.
Well starting 3 threads for a simple question isn't gonna get you anywhere. Seriously JUST READ more before spamming this section.
Anyway I already replied to your question in your other thread.
Despite all the good posts on here I have been unable to get my phone out of a boot loop, and am now quite desperate for help please!
If anyone can point me in the direction of a rom or kernel that will definitively work on my phone I will be eternally grateful
It was ok until I decided to unlock bootloader and root it.
Unlock bootloader went well, as did flashing TWRP and also CWM – I have a suspicion that it was rooting with OneClickRoot caused the problem.
After over a day of failure I discovered how to do ADB Sideload at this thread: I used CM11 I got from this thread: and also tried a Stock one from here:
sadly nothing worked, and I'm now afraid of filling my phone storage with large files. I have added some screen shots of my failed attempts with TWRP & CWM
they both fail, and TWRP does warn me not to reboot as I have no OS installed, but I had to keep on trying.
Another weird thing is that I cannot always reboot to recovery from the Hboot screen and have to re-flash a recovery image each time.

SOLVED
no need to reply now folks, I got the job done ... see here
Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum, I hope this is the right place to post.
I purchased a nexus 5, used WUG's root toolkit and managed to install Nethunter just fine! Then I accidentally bricked it.
So I bought a new one. This time Nethunter was taking up basically all 12GB. This sucked. After ruining it some more, now the /system size is onle about 1GB and most of it is being used up. I definitely had 16GB before that. I can post pictures if it's more helpful and if I can get some help with it.
Also yes, absolute newb.
Lol you 'bricked' it? Well then unbrick it. Fastboot mode is there for a reason. Did you look at any of the other posts before posting this and buying a new phone?
Yup. Managed to unbrick it.
Now I'm back to having my original issue which was the /system is full. I've tried to resize it, and I've also tried the back up and wipe method. I can't get more than 148Mb free. It's driving me crazy.
This is where I'm stuck at. System says that it's full. I've tried to resize it and I've also tried to back up and restore method.
