Comparisons are not allowed on XDA. You will have to read the features of each in their respective OPs to see how they compare. Most Devs do a really great job of detailing features and if you read through each thread you will find advantages and disadvantages as well as any things that need fixed. Good luck.

You can say, whats the difference and it would fly, but as scott says above, no vs stuff period. if you want to continue, change your title and edit your post...quick I might add...good luck.

Its subjective like most things in life.
You need to try both of Roms to see which one you like the most.

If you like shostock then stick with it. It obviously has some features that are important to you. Scott always does a great job on his cleanrom for any device. I haven't tried it on the s4 yet. I can't seem to leave mint jelly at the moment.

Versus threads are not allowed on XDA as they always lead to drama. The information you seek can easily be found by reading the two ROM threads. Members are expected to do the research. This is NOT a support site, it is a development site.

I'm using the new venom ROM. I've tried buoyancy, nexusmod, and super stock. I like venom so far. I'll probably switch before to long. That's the beauty of Android - lots to choose from.

personal preference my friend. Try a couple out and see which one you like
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Agreed, you have to try some out and pick your favorite. If you ask 20 people on this section by PM randomly I bet you'd get at least 5-6 different answers.
SkyICS + Venom depending on your personal taste get my vote right now for multiple reasons, but the biggest being support and production. A vast majority of the roms that have come out for this phone have never/rarely been updated (no offense intended, people have lives, things happen, you get new phones, etc...).
Often, the stock ROM is the best since at least all the phone's capabilities are accounted for. More often, a rooted stock ROM is better since you can freeze bloatware, get around tethering restrictions and the like. Beyond that, it's kind of up to you to do your homework to make sure that a particular ROM does everything you need it to do (Bluetooth streaming, both cameras work, etc) and that you like the layout.
On a side note......
Q: What's the best way not to spam the board?
A: You don't post the same question in multiple sections.
Please don't do it again. Thank you.
Running venom right now and very pleased.

If you enjoy a nice, clean, look, I'd check out NeXuSMOD 2.0. It does everything I need it to do, and it's very easy on the eyes. Solid battery life as well.

I've been enjoying Ice Cream Sandwich - Multiple Flavors. While I'm tempted to try some of the other ROMs out there, this one is really great.
It's the overclocked version, I scored a AnTuTu benchmark of 7284.

Well to be honest there are tons of threads that can answer your question. The answer that i know is Sammy said they will release 4.0 for all galaxy variants in first quarter of this year and they said this back in December and have not heard any fixed time period since than.

For a noob(i mean this is the best way) cm9 may be a bit much, I'd say either embryo or nexus mod. Or, if you feeling crazy, sky.

RE: Best ROM
True enough, they are all great! but for a noob who flashed all the roms the least buggiest so far is SKY ICS--- 4.2D-10 for me anyways.
Again there are different flavors to choose from and it also depends on what you use on your phone. Some bugs may show up days later.

All these guys are right cause there really is no right or wrong answer to your question. When it comes to custom roms its all about personal preference. What someone else really loves you may find out you don't like. So my advice is become a flashaholic like most of us here are and start flashing until you find that perfect custom rom that fits your needs and wants. Just remember to make a backup of your current rom before you start flashing anything that way you can always go back to what you have now. Oh and just so you will know design gears is about to release a new ics leak for the skyrocket soon according to his twitter account so you may want to wait and see what that is all about and the I'm sure plenty of custom roms will be based off of it soon as well... happy flashing...

It would probably be better to be more specific. A better question would be "which are roms are the most stable" or "which roms are the fastest" or maybe "Which rom has the most features?"
I personally am also trying to decide which rom to go with. I have a friend who owns a Skyrocket and he wants me to root the phone then flash a custom rom, so I'm looking into this. I think I'll probably flash Nexus Mod just because it looks like AOSP. Like many others, it has carrier IQ disabled and has been debloated.

AOKP, the best of the best.

+1 to sky ics for stability (iv flashed the aosp apps patch) it was giving me fc's on other roms but none on this one
nexusmod ics was good but the rom seems to start facing issues after a week of use (might be user error but others were also experiencing this) and also the rom has no further development as MOD has been bricked and has also moved to cm9.
AOKP - great rom that has just surfaced with some solid devs at work still has a few minor issues but this one will become a gem
cm9 - same as above, great dev support but it still has a few minor kinks to be worked out
The above post is right especially about cm and aokp
CM9 Skyrocket
The newish Slim ICS ROM is pretty good too. Gives you some AOSP apps and seems pretty stable and super snappy for me so far. But as others have said, just look at some of the ones with higher traffic and more recent posts and see what you like. Embryo is a nice one i you want a more stock exoerience. Dev is super responsive too. With the new leak and impending (hopefully) official release, they'll all be rebased anyway. TiBu Pro and nandroid are your friends.

Best Rom/Kernel for Samsung Exhibit II (Samsung Galaxy Exhibit)

I have a very easy question for experts. I asking for the good from for my Exhibit II? I'm looking for "no battery drain","no game lag" and especially "everything works"??
Sent from my SGH-T679 using xda app-developers app
Here is a list of a few different ROMs to try out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Exhibit_II_4G
Scroll to the bottom of the page and there's a list of custom ROMs. I've personally used RebelROM and consider that to be one of the best. It is fast, light and battery efficient. RebelROM is only gingerbread though. If you want a taste of ICS, then Jocala is working on a CM9 port to the exhibit ii.
Unfortunately though, this great phone does not have a large developer base. There is not really a wide range to choose from, but make do with the ones that are available.
Have fun and good luck.
Thanks! I'm trying CM9 right now and I will really use RebelRom. I don't like CM9 because of Battery Drain! I really appreciate your post.
Sent from my SGH-T679 using xda app-developers app
No problem. The latest builds of RebelROM seems amazing. I've only used up to version 2.1 when I had the exhibit and it was incredible. Great ICS launcher and fast and speedy. Kinda feeling a bit nostalgic now....
Anyways, if it was that good back then, it must REALLY be awesome now!
It's a such a great phone, but had so little development back when I had it. I literally had to use stock ROM for a few months. Now it's good to see that there's more development for it.
So you're cm9

Such a broad question dude it truly depends on what your phone likes best a well as you. As some may prefer this ROM others may prefer another ROM.
Also depends on ROM,Kernel combo as well try em all and see what's best to your desires.

this. there's no way to answer this question. each phone/user are different. there are far too many options for rom/kernel combinations, not to mention all the variable settings to say which is best.

I can't believe how many threads like this there are....there have to be at least 50 with this exact same topic..
Running provision with matrix cfs 22......screen on 800/200 lazy....screen off governor wheatley....idle on great battery life and performance...

Like has been said, there are many options. Probably the most popular is cyanogenmod, but I've been hooked on Paranoid Android for awhile (which is based on CM). My advice for a beginner is to spend time in the forums and narrow it down to the popular ones. Subscribe to a few and get into the discussions so you get to know the lingo and issues people are having with the ROMs. Try several out to get a feel of what they have to offer and the features you find you enjoy having.
Once you are familiar with the features you prefer, you can narrow down your perfect fit by reading the OP of a ROM (for what it offers) and a few of the posts from the latest update date (for stability and what to expect). I'd suggest only after this stage that you get into trying different kernels with your ROM. The kernel is like changing engines in your car...YMMV, and some will perform better than others on your specific device and ROM.
Hope this helps!

[Q] Fastest ROM - Suggestions for a minimalist!

Howdy XDA peoples, I'm not too handy with the search bar and I haven't come across a thread for this yet so...
>What is the fastest ROM for the Verizon Galaxy SIII? I'm going for minimal amounts of crap, as clean as they come, and as fast as they come.
>Also, Stock or AOSP, which is faster? I imagine AOSP.
>I'm not looking for kernel compatibility, which ROM is the fastest, just the ROM alone.
:good:THANKS IN ADVANCE!:good:
I personally find the fastest to be LiquidSmooth.
But no question you can narrow your search down to AOSP ROMs.

What about Pure AOSP? Would that be faster or does liquid smooth actually have performance modifications and tweaks?
It might not be minimal but beans 13 with tk kernel is the best set up I've used. In my opinion I prefer tw over aosp. No lag at all and great battery life

I'm an AOSP guy personally, but I do greatly appreciate your input!
theres an entire original development section here. do some research and find what works best for you and what you need out of a rom.
being fast isnt a valid criteria.
nobody can answer this question except for you. put in a little effort, do some learning/reading, itll serve you well.
Here you go. All your questions answered:

Carbon ROM 3/15 nightly build with KT kernel is FAST no crap bloat apps. I am running ktoonservative/bfg on Carbon ROM 3-15 build. I couldn't believe it last 2 days 0h 38m at 16% left battery and got 3 hrs 24 mins screen. Thanks to [Team Kernelizers][How To][TK Mod 1.0.1] Updated 03-21-13 KT747 Kernel Tweaks
I'm really just looking to see what others experiences have been, I've had my fair share of ROMs on this thing. Not as many stock, as I always felt they were slower, but still, plenty.
I also have done PLENTY of reading, hence the reason why I have never had to make a post before, I find my questions answers in my reading.
So I take offense to your comment ddurand. I'd like personal preference and input, not criticism on my research techniques.
everyones phone works differently. you just need to try things and see what you like and what fits you best.
theres threads all over like this with comparisons. heres another good one besides the one posted above (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030478)
asking for peoples personal opinion will net you 10+ different roms to try.
dont take it too seriously, im just trying to help.
its just how it works. you need to flash ROMs to see what works best on your phone.
I think nottas paranoid android is a great candidate. Other than the pie interface and hybrid ui stuff, it's basically AOSP. It's also compiled with linaro. I think the minimal features really help keep it smooth and fast.
