I had an idea of what my perfect launcher would look like, and recently started working on creating that. Here's what I came up with.

I drew a ton of inspiration from DashClock, Falcon Pro, iOS, Google Now, some MyColorScreen posts, and more. I wanted something useful, like a personal assistant, that had all of my most important information easily accessible on my homescreen, but also put together beautifully. Most launchers' widget grid is restricting and doesn't allow for the best usage of the entire screen. My current concept's main screen scrolls vertically, and on top of what is on the screenshot, could include sections for an agenda, Gmail, Twitter, photo frame, news feed, etc. In theory, if this were to ever be created, I would want it to be themeable and extensible, so people with other ideas could easily tap into the potential. A simple swipe to the right opens up a drawer on the left with easy access to one's favorite/commonly used apps. Similarly, a swipe to the left brings up all of a user's apps on the right.
I am much more of a designer than a programmer right now, but it's something I plan to work on so I may one day be able to have this on my phone. If anybody wants to work with me on creating this, let me know. Everybody else, let me know what you think of it, if you'd ever use it, or even if you think it's a terrible idea. I'm interested to know what people think. Thanks!
If you were to make that launcher and support it like Nova and Apex gain support ..... I would love it and place it on my Galaxy S 4 and other android devices I purchase to come...
I'd be all over this launcher. I'm not an iphone fan, but iOS 7's ui looks good, and this reminds me of it.

I like the idea. I think when it is possible to slide different panels (like sliding the weather panel/widget to the left/right, one get another panel with rss-info for instance) it becomes a really unique launcher. I don't really like the theme you used and it is probably a good idea to limit the theming in the beginning (due to version conflicts). You really got something here.

Somewhere in the android world I have seen a picture of somebody using what appears to be a scrollable app launcher on their screen. This particular one was rounded and was on the side of the screen. Kind of like half of a rotary clock dialer, but instead of numbers it was apps.

Its half rotary cause the launcher is in the top, if its in the middle it will be full circle

That's not the exact one I was thinking of, but very similar.
The one I remember seeing I believe had a grey background and was only halfthe circle on either the left or right of the screen.
This one will work though if I can't find the one I was thinking of, though the one I remember looked better IMO. But it's possible it was just a particular rom feature.

Just tried out netfront for a minute, and it's actually a lot more then I had wanted (very cool concept though) if I hadn't just bought adw ex the other day I might have kept it for awhile.

Is that ultimate faves pro? If so, I was hoping what I was looking for was an actual widget and not a home replacement.

It doesn't have to be curved or super fancy, but I'd love a widget (say 3 columns wide or 3 rows long) that I could place any number of apps into and scroll through them.
Of course after it gets made then it could be fancy, if somebody wished.

I believe the app your talking about is called Clutch Pad by Steve Albright, it's available in the market for $1.99. Also, if your looking you something similar, but free, I'd recommend either Circle Launcher or SwipePad, both of which allow for launching apps without using the standard launcher.
I've been using ADW.EX for a long while and have grown accustomed to their features and for the most part loved the experience. However, I just say QQ Launcher on AndroidSpin and this.. for lack of a better term... "really put some flavor on my sh*t"

the included widgets are cool. the theme is awesome. it takes a lot from touch wiz 4 or the Sony arc launcher and adds a very nice miui like theme. folders in the drawer and transition animations are nice. and its themeable. not bad

Either I missed it or it doesn't have many options for making it act how I want. I couldn't find swiping options or anything.

Nice launcher, well Polish but missing a few key features that Go launcher offers. Facebook calendar Widgets also custom user icons. Will keep an eye on it tho.

Cyanogen Mod comes with ADW launcher, but I like this one better.
Is there any setting to get it as default launcher?
Once you install it and click the home button it should bring up a prompt to ask you which launcher you want to use, you can set is as default from there. or you can go into application settings and clear defaults on ADW

I wasn't very satisfied with the look of the original Facebook app for Android: mostly because it still doesn't follow the design guidelines of Android 4, even though ICS is already over a year old. So I decided to redesign the facebook app by myself and want now to share my results with you. You can find them in the attachments section (2 Versions, i couldn't decide with is better). actually ICS is not a year old yet. It was introduced in October 2011, and the Galaxy Nexus released in November 2011. Also I don't think it looks to good.

I'm sure it's possible but you need a some serious skills if you want to change the complete layout of an app and unfortunately I'm not able to do it. But you could ask a developer if he could develop such app

Thank you! I find that myself, too. The current Facebook-app doesn't match the ICS / JB HOLO theme and isn't that quick either. It really decreases the quality of the user experience.
However, since I don't have any knowledge of building apps whatsoever, I am afraid it'll just remain a concept - unless or until some developer wants to help me, that is.

Elaborate boring. If you mean, there isn't much to see... well then there really isn't. However, if you have been using stock android, or a variation of stock, then you would understand the significant difference in this

The idea was to make it look like Google Now but cards on the lockscreen that you can swipe away.
