If you wanna use roms based on ICS kernel you'll need downgrade to ics. Only kexec roms are working on JB kernel....
For etc. Mokee ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305303 & my post to improve battery life on kexec - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42689041&postcount=230.

A word to the wise: If you're asking these kinds of questions, it would be in your best interest to do some reading/research before try to do anything. Not trying to sound like a jerk, but the #1 thing that will brick your phone is a lack of knowledge. After you've read everything a few times and are starting to feel like you understand, then read it all again. Then if you still have questions, feel free to ask. Good luck, and most importantly, have fun!:thumbup:

Did you even read what 1BadWolf posted? The reason why we ask you to search, read, and ask questions before jumping into flashing roms is because the Atrix2 has a locked bootloader and there are many different versions.

Haha, it doesn't exactly do weird things. Some phones cannot boot or run kexec roms. Some phones can run kexec but often have "weird" things happen. It's perfectly normal and it shouldn't happen too much from now onwards. If the reboots/black screen do become a great issue, try a non-kexec rom or try flashing the kexec rom after a clean wipe. If your rom only shows a boot animation that goes on forever it is called a bootloop. D a clean wipe and reflash to get rid of the bootloop! In future, try reading some comments too. They usually include a question just like yours, with an answer just like mine . Hope this answered your question !

you not get it correct...
It works perfect many times...
but sometime while going in system 3,4 or 5 ... it just restart phone 1 or 2 times but later again it works perfectly ...
so i said it weird... it is not bootloop ... it is loading problem but why it occus don't know...
& it is showing new error.... after using other installed rom without rebooting, after 1 day it shows sim card inserted please reboot ur phone....???
so I said it shows some different errors, why don't know...
I installed it on fresh rom 4.1.2... so that is not issue...
The multiple reboots used to be common before BMM. It isn't anything new and/or surprising. Most people only had it with bootstrap but nonetheless don't be worried. It doesnt mean a thing and shouldn't affect Roms. As for the Sim card problem, you need to be a lot clearer with that. What error message are you getting exactly? Sim card is inserted? Or isn't? That could be a physical error, it could be a loose Sim card. Please give us all some more information, we're just trying to help
Update:
Omg. While switching systems, you have 3 seconds to pick a different system to boot. If you don't, your phone will automatically boot to system 1 (unless you change the settings in BMM). That's probably why!

Hi GuysPlease help me with this, i have an Indian Atrix 2 with Official jellybean4.1.2. I wanted to try custom ROMs so used BMM method but without any success.
I started by installing BMM, activated system 2, created system, cache & data partitions in system 5. Cleared data.etc. clicked install zip package & installed PACman (Kexec) rom. Rebooted in system 5, but i only get black screen + green LED
Thought this as a problem with kexec ROMs & installed PACman(non-kexec) ROM in the same way. Now instead of green LED i get black screen + red LED, nothing else.
What m i doing wrong, please help me, i'm really frustrated

both are not big issues of BMM...
If the kernel not loaded it reboots the phone... I think it is common for all...
but about that error msg i don't know...
I am damn sure it is not physical error... because I am using this phone from 8 months... & I changed card to 3g because it is more suitable with phone so it is using from 7 months... before 7 days it is not showing this type of msg...
after installing BMM & roms... I get that msgs...
If i am not reboot my phone for long time then it show like that... I am just uploading snapshot of it with this msg...
I thing CID corrupted & contact to customer care error is known error...
& for this error i will say we can just press back button & use rom as it is ... so it is not big issue ...
but i don't why it is show like that... what's the problem... because as everyone knows in atrix 2, without pulling battery we can not remove sim card...
While i am listening songs it shown this msg... I just take snapshot of it.. & pressed back button ... network work fine also after that....

& u r on 4.1.2 so u cannot install non-kexec roms on phone, like me... so u have to install kexec roms...
try other roms... search & installed other kexec roms... (because if other roms r installing then ur bootloader is OK)
If u want, i will give my installed kexec roms link...

I have the latest PAC, i think I've to fxz back to ics & install PAC (non-kexec)
Thanks anyways
BTW to the OP
I don't see the meaning of this thread.
Why would you create a thread to just ask about custom ROMs when you can just search for them and especially when there already is a thread(here) having the solution to your problem in the first place.
Search before posting and creating new threads dude.Posts like these clutter up the forum and then you say there's too much stuff to go through and become confused.
Act responsibly and follow the rules.

EVERYTHING YOU DO IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT YOU DO.
DATA THROTTLE REMOVAL:
This removes the throttle files from the rom. The files removed are actually named "throttle", by the way.
AUDIOBOOST KERNEL:
This is simply the stock kernel with all audio levels boosted. Other than that, it is the stock kernel. This will work with any nightly or rc build of cm7.
CAMERA SHUTTER SOUND:
A lower volume, more pleasant, camera shutter sound. Flash with recovery, works with any cm7 version.
CM3-FLASHABLE BOOT ANIMATIONS:
These are boot animations that I have ported to be CWM2 and CWM3 flashable.
SPLASH SCREENS:
Rename exactly to PB31IMG.zip and put on root directory of FAT32 sdcard, not in any folders. You might have to use a blank card with this being the only file... it works for some people better that way. It shouldn't hurt to try it either way though. It will either work or do nothing.
Once the file is on your card and the card is on your phone, with the phone OFF, hold down the vol.down and power button. Hold them down until the bootloader is up. After a few seconds, it should ask you if you want to apply the update. Choose yes.
Once it is loaded, it will be there permanently until you change it again. You don't have to reflash it ever.
BATTERY MODS:
I have continued the popular work "Mattyg battery and clock mods". Mattyg kept these current when he had a Droid Incredible, and he even kept them current for quite some time after he no longer had the phone. We are all thankful to him for putting these together.
These type of flash mods are specific to a particular build of cm7. If you flash one of these to the wrong nightly, it will work only if the cm7 framework has not changed. Otherwise, your phone will be unstable at best, and boot loop at worst. The files have the nightly number at the end, so there is never any confusion about which file goes with what nightly.
If your phone boot loops after flashing, you can easily fix this by reflashing cm7. This is also the method used to "uninstall" these mods if you want to go back to the stock original clock and battery icons.
These are built for CWM3, but they should also work with CWM2 and RA recoverys.
To flash, simply flash them with recovery. Rom Manager will probably work too, but I don't use it.
You can flash the battery mods over each other. The most recent flash will be on the phone, and will overwrite any previous battery mod. There is no need to flash back to stock between changing between these battery mods.
The RemoveClock mod is independent of the battery mods. You can flash clock and battery or either one. They do not interfere with each other in any way.
There is no need to wipe cache or dalvik when you flash these. You can if you want, and it won't hurt anything, but it is not required.
For safety, always have a known good working backup before you flash these, or before you flash anything for that matter.
Enjoy!
RC1 mods have been added, but they are not tested. I have moved past RC1, and you should too! There are CM7 fixes in Nightly #39, and there will continue to be more fixes in the following CM7 builds.

are you running into any issues with these? i put them all together, but was getting FC's after flashing. not MAJOR FC's, but enough that i didnt want to release them until i figured it out. Mostly CM settings when attempting to change anything and ROM manager.

FC issues should be resolved.
Download the GBCircle39-fixed.zip file and try it.
Post back here if it works well or not.
Only flash them to the build they are intended for (like 39 at this point)
Once these are proven to be good, I can make other colors.

Stuck in a boot loop...
These are all working fine for me now... I have flashed them over and over on my phone, I have had no boot loops, and no FC. I never had a boot loop during any of these.
Boot loop has always been a a symptom of flashing over the wrong nightly, even when Mattyg was releasing these. Make sure you have the right nightly (currently 39, not RC1.)
If anyone else has tried these, successfully or unsuccessfully since the fixes, please let me know.

Ok.. The manufacturer finally release ICS for this tablet, it initially does not have gapps..... you need to install CWM and reboot into recovery through ADB... like i said you need to have CWM already installed!!!!! this works on ALL my tablets i just checked it out... it has market, gmail, and superuser. once it is installed you can access recovery by holding down volume:up and power until recovery shows up... ( before It could not be done)
here is the link and instructions for CWM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1378594
here is my nandroid:
http://www.2shared.com/file/HInNxhH1/2012-02-13143731.html
(i had to strip out google talk, it kept on giving me problems..)
on a side note you need a external card to access the nandroid, put it in /clockworkmod/backup/
i haven't tested anything else, ie can not load youtube app and not sure about video playback... netflix only plays sound not video...
if this helped you hit the like button.. i am poor and i only do this when i have time and out of love for this great device and OS.... i am not responsible if your wife leaves you or a natural disaster happens in your area or you brick that sucker.... flash at your own risk...
thanks goes out to everyone that made this possible... maybe i will see if i can port CM9 but don't hold me to that..
Good job, I was actually going to post this today as well until I searched to make sure no one else had already done it. CWM works great with this now that the capacitive buttons work, now to do some modding so we can get cm9 running on it. I still can't get netflix apk to stream, the sound works but no video.
ya i know! that sucks... i need to try to get a youtube app and push it to see if it works.. but i really love it... i wonder if i can try the momo9 cm9 and see what works and go from there.. but school and work keeps me busy as hell!!!
Google Talk works for me with "newtech25_for_ics4.0.3"- script
Google Talk does not work with anything I tried. Tried a lot of patches and versions. Any ideas ?
Try to reflash manufacture rom then newtech25_for_ics4.0.3 script.
i used this one http://www.sappasit.go.th/android/newtech25_for_ics4.0.3.zip
but if figured out there is bug in calendar sync with newtheck script. talk works also with video no problems at all
The gapps package I installed from clockwork mod had youtube in it and it works fine so I have no idea why netflix wouldn't work on ics when it was fine on the stock gb firmware.
what was the gapps package you used?
At this point two main issues
Market does not show system apps.
Some apps (google), even if installed from the Market gives a android system stop responding...
Update
Errors were due to Gapps not properly installed...
Small issue though Camera photos are up side down ?! Can anyone test it for me as well? as this may affect skype video calling ie.
Last thing to sort out Full market support and flash...
my camera works fine on mine, and i restored on 3 of the same tablets... i am working on finding a working google apps i guess... but everything works on mine. Weird, but i will lool for another ICS google apps and then do another nandroid. thanks for your feedback..
Use gapps v11 from CM9. Just flash them from CWM.

I'm on 2.3.4 from 20120107 when i press vol+ and power i only get a triangle with exclamation point inside and an android icon but nothing else.
So i need to flash ics first and then use cwm to flash the nandroid with gapps, right?

It needs root. The easiest way is with Unlock Root.

Hi there, I have been trying for countless hours to make a custom ROM work on my P920 with no results, always some issues. I've managed to brick my phone in different ways a billion times now, then spent billion hours unbricking it and in the end I'm always back to where I started. I would really love some help please.
My phone is P920.
The android version I'm running is: 2.3.5
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7+
Software version: V21E
Rooting method: megatron
Now I would like a ROM that uses Android 4 and that can still use the 3D features such as 3D camera, the ROM calledthe Darkroom International would be an example I imagine.
While that's one of the ROMs that I would want, I've tried many, and always encountering issues, let me clarify.
First of all my device has to be rooted and since SuperOneClick doesn't work for me as it gets stuck on step 7, I use megatron which works well. I even double check if my phone is rooted with the Root Checker from the Android store. Now according to the guides I've read I need a custom recovery system, so I install Clockworkmod. I then place the ROM on the SD card, in the recovery menu I delete cache, that other cache, format it, format system, data, everything those guides tell me to. Afterwards, I install the ROM by selecting the zip and then I reboot. I've tried like 3 different ROMs, jellybem, cyanogenmod and some other. Yes I know none of them support 3D features - I didn't know at the time. Anyway, the issue was always the same, right after the LG logo there would be a screen with some weird colors showing the display of what happened before the phone crashed. Before it crashed? Yes, the phone would actually boot into the ROM but only for a few minutes, crashing afterwards. The next time I would boot, it would show that weird screen with those fancy colors with what happened just before it crashed. So I followed some steps and I got back to the original 2.3.5 ROM, everything back to normal.
I tried doing some more research and I came across the Darkroom Intentional ROM which had a bit different instructions. It asked me to install TWRP recovery with a bootloader, so I did, successfully, then did all the clean cache etc, installed ROM, bam, wouldn't boot at all. Oh boy have I had issues here, I couldn't even get it back to the default 2.3.5 stock ROM because my phone wasn't even recognized in the device manager. So I did some more research, found a solution, managed to flash back to 2.3.5 stock and I'm back to square one.
Now, could someone please help and explain to me what exactly have I done wrong and how I can make it right? I've spent countless hours now trying to install a custom ROM with no success. Sorry about the long read. If you need me to supply some more information please let me know. Thank you.
First of all if u want to use an ICS ROM then u need to update to ICS FIRST u can't flash it directly from 2.3.5 u can use xbsalls thread to update......
Next if cm based Roms are crashing then u need to flash bootloaders which means u should use os_hacking tool to flash ICS bootladers if u wanna update
Or flash GB bootloaders
So first update if u want
Root
Flash bootloaders
Flash recovery
Flash Roms

As i said i am newbie things are not clear to me and what i asked in the question is not mentioned clearly and exactly. And since 7 days i am stuck in this esp last three days coz either the rom is a problem or need to be reflashed. And how to remove gapps etc that is not clear dear.Anyone who has a helping nature would write few lines or steps if he wants to help.My head is screwed up with this rom, nothing is working properly and all the time i am busy with my phone. Can't even open my eyes now as i have been continously looking at small screen.
Do not know if i have to reset the phone again or what, how to remove gapps as i do not have google store, gmail and maps in that. I always try to help a newbie coz i know he will not understand things clearly and can screw up,and in my case an experience person can tell if it is some thing else i should do along with that i.e if he would be concerned.
You are the king man so you would not know these small petty things.
Anyway thanks for whatever best you could do.
@kitu34: The procedure for flashing a new ROM is always the same:
1. Download the ROM, put it on your SD card (I recommend creating a folder in your SD card for your ROMs, kernels, etc., so that they're all in one place, but that's just a suggestion, not a requirement. Optional: Download the recommended GAPPS package for the ROM (if the ROM comes with built-in GAPPS, no need to download this).
2. Boot into recovery. You should be able to reboot into recovery simply by pressing power button > reboot > recovery. If not, then shutdown the phone and press & hold power+volume down+home.
3. In recovery, perform a factory reset (wipe data & cache), wipe dalvik-cache, and wipe system.
4. In recovery, flash the zip of the ROM you want to install (the procedure for this depends on your custom recovery; just browse around the menus for the option to flash a zip). If the ROM has a separate GAPPS package, you can also flash it here. Note: Always flash the GAPPS after you flash the ROM, not before.
5. Reboot system.
Flashing a custom kernel uses the same procedure, except you only wipe cache & dalvik-cache in step 3.

Just confused whether to reflash pac rom or flash either rashed's 10.1 or Jenkin's.Maybe first flashing went wrong coz i am having lots of problems and the phone is awake 24hrs.I want a good rom but battery friendly

Update the ROM? Do you mean flashing a newer version of the same ROM? Some ROMs can be updated by simply wiping cache, dalvik, & system (no need to wipe data), then flashing the new version. Personally, I advise doing a clean install every time when installing a new ROM, even if it's just an update. That means a full wipe: data, cache, dalvik-cache, & system. A clean install helps you avoid potential errors.

If you want good battery life, then I suggest staying away from Jelly Bean ROMs for now -- the battery drain is huge. If you want to try a stable JB ROM, then the latest Jenkins build is good, as long as you don't mind battery drain and a couple of relatively major bugs (those being bluetooth A2DP not working and wifi hotspot reboot).
If you want a relatively more stable, but still high-end, ROM, then stick with ICS. Hephappy's CM9 is good (check the thread in the General LG-P500 forum), or if you want a tweaked & modded ICS, then get neko95's ICySNAP.
That said, the king of battery life still is Gingerbread. I'm personally using the latest unofficial CM7.2 build by FitAmp; it's stable and with good battery life, better than ICS or JB.

I am doing with jenkins as i already have but it does not have gapps as i am not flashing the very last update which has gapps with it.\So is it ok to use rashed's cm10's mini gapps?

Yes, Rashed's mini gapps is for all cm10.x roms, including the Jenkins builds.
Edit: By the way, grgtm is from Romania, not Cebu (Philippines). You probably got him mixed up with someone else.

The home button not working is a result of a GAPPS error when the system partition is too full. You'll need to trim the ROM prior to flashing (search the cm10 thread; it's too complicated for me to explain here) or download the version of cm10.1 with built-in GAPPS. The fact of the matter is, our phones has a very small system partition, hence why we have to go to all this trouble when using JB.

Thanks, but first i am trying to reflash coz in the first time i wiped even cache partition and now i will try without that coz i did not yet get an answer to how to trim
You're seriously going to need to learn how to help yourself, @kitu34. Instead of asking for step-by-step instructions all the time, try looking for them yourself; simply using the "search this thread" function and running a search for "trim" in Rashed's thread would give you what you need. In fact, here's the link to the program used to trim ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33349661 -- that link was in the first post of Rashed's thread, labeled (and in very big letters) CLICK ME. The instructions for using the program is also in the thread, and the program's interface is so simple that simply browsing around should tell you what to do.

I tried Jenkins with rashed's mini gapps and worked perfectly(except battery drain), instead using an tool for rom editing, use an app like root uninstaller to get read of unnecessary apps to free some space on internal memory or use an d2ext script(but it got some strange behavior from my phone, you need a really fast sd card, an class 10 for that, and a reliable brand, mine is class 4, so in the final, sd card will worth half price of the phone)

Thanks,i have both titanium and es explorer, can i do with that by simply uninstalling system app? Actually someone told me not to this way and instead trim the rom.Even i am confused what is the difference.Either it creates problems or the amount of space we get by uninstalling with titanium is less compared to trimming the rom.
I will later what i did later.
Hi guys, I'm fckland and I'm relatively new here since I never write but I always come here when I need something
This time I come here with a doubt. I got the motorola xt1032 and it's awesome, I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted it and installed CWM to flash some ROM's, but they didn't worked and bricked my phone, so I had to install google play edition by fastboot (following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219 ) and now when I hit "install zip from sdcard" it says: e:\ can't mount sdcard
I want to access that option to install the faux kernel to test it but i can't. What can I do to fix it? I have searched and I didn't find nothin specific for the motorola moto G.
While I was writing this, I installed the TWRP and it worked! I had access to the internal memory without any issue!
BUT I HAD AN ISSUE
I installed the faux kernel with the OC to 1.6GHz and it bricked the OS (google play edition) (stuck at bootanimation), I installed the other version, the non OC and it bricked too and I had to do the tutorial once again since i didn't do a backup
And my second question is... Why this moto g doesn't accept most ROM's and kernels? I have tried with ROM: Carbon, AOSP, MOKEE and none worked and Kernels: faux version u and m and none worked, all of them bricked my phone.
If you need details of the version of my phone or something please ask for it and I'll upload it.
Thank you very much.
Nobody? I need to know at least why I can't install ROM's without having lots of issues.
Post details.
Please post details of which recovery you are using to flash ROMs, which kernel you are on and lastly which ROM works fine and which doesn't.
I, personally think you might had been on philz recovery and issue is not only which /sdcard but with /data.
Post the required info and I'll get back to you.
Problem solved!
I don't know what the problem was, but I think that I wasn't formating well after installing ROM's.
I have installed CM11 minutes ago and it works really nice (with wifi, I didn't try 3G yet) but I have a stock kernell and I would love to install faux or pink kernell, how do I have to do exactly to install one of them? And what can I do if i get bootloop?
Thank you!
Stick with the original kernel.

It's nice that your problem is resolved. And for the kernel as far as I know faux and pink support only stock ROM, no support for CM11 yet. You can search the thread for any other kernel but I would recommend to stick to default kernel now. Moto G is still under huge development, have patience. Soon we'll have a lot of them.
Regarding bootloops, take care that before installing any Rom you format /system along with wipe cache and data. Mount them again and then flash the rom.If any other help needed then post it.
P.S. No need to say Thanks press Thank you instead.
