need help to re-partition my sd card

i partitioned my sd card(512 mb) few months back..now i m running out of space as i installed so many themes on it..so i want to upgrade my 2nd partition to 1 GB....so how can i do it without losing my app data??? i dont want to install all d apps again...
i need one more help :cyclops::cyclops::cyclops::cyclops:
how can i switch between roms without losing my app data??
is der any app available dat backed up my app data and restores it on my 2nd partition after flashing new rom??
i tried some apps like my backup root,titanium backup...they gives FC...any other alternative???

copy the data to PC, format it and repartition it then copy the data back

a bit confused ....should I do this?
copy all d data on my memory card(on windows obviously cuz I don't have Linux)
format SD card using windows(keeping file system FAT32)
then repartition using CMW
THEN copy back all d data ..
then restore my rom backup which I hv taken earlier

yeah all the steps are correct just don't restore backup
you even will not need to wipe anything just backup the data of the sdcard

if you use android to mount your sdcard ext partition will not show up but if you will use a card reader that ext partition will be mounted

why can't I restore? so sad!!!! does that mean I have to install all my apps again?

you can't restore because no wiping is needed and for a backup purpose use titanium backup

i m using htc explorer and want to install sense 4 rom but don't know how to create sd-ext partition
can anybody plz help me?

Go to recovery and under storage option select partition sdcard or you can use minitool partition wizard if you want to do it through PC

Make sure to make a backup of ure sd card since it will Format the SD card completely..

after trying both from recovery and pc the recovery in my phone dosen't mount se-ext partition so what i gonna do now?

Change the recovery. You must be using CWM. Try TWRP. Works wonderfully.

follow this steps from here:
2. Prepare your SD card, using MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition,
a. move all existing data on the SD Card to your PC and delete all files from it. RESIZE your existing FAT32 partition to a size where your unallocated space is at least 1GB but not more than 2GB.
b. Create a new ext4 Primary partition using all the unallocated space.
c. Apply changes
(I've written RESIZE in CAPS because when I tried deleting and creating the FAT32 and ext4, my phone didn't recognize the formatting as valid. So I allowed the phone to reformat the sd card and then did it using resize FAT32 instead)

i'm using HTC explorer, i unlocked and rooted my mobile and install Jaggy Rom,
and using mini partition tool and create two partition (4gb) , but ext4 is not supported,so i changed to fat32 format...
reently lot of application stored in sd, but now some application are stored in internal memory, i couldn't find out, what the problem is???
please anyone explain clearly...

Read previous post and make ext2 or 3, or try creating partition from recovery. And no bigger than 2gb

Just create ext2 partition and use Link2sd Latest version ...everything working fine for me..

but jaggy 3.2.1 , whenever i installed link2sd, its force closed , Why??

Jaggyrom already has a a2sd script! Either u have to remove that script first or use link2sd on stock rom!

are u on CMW......then switch to yannou90 recovery or twrp......CMW haserror mounting ext partition :good:

Like custom roms there are many scripts i have tried them with stock rom but they are not working .

After u partition your sd card u can go for link2sd!

Only app2sd scripts work in stock roms.. are you using Sense 4 or GB?

partition your sd card using MiniTool partition manager.

use fat32 while creating partition
and after partitioning reboot your phone
link2sd will ask for mount script
try with fat32 or ext2

i tried creating it partition using CWM - Advanced-Patition SD as well as using Partition tool.
While try to in CWM recovery - error mounting SD/EXT
I believe am not doing it correctly, please help me with steps.

can link2SD detect external partition that you have created?
if yes have you tried all the scripts?

I have search to get init.d support on stock kernel

even though i created it but non of any roms worked well

Backup imp files on SD
Install link to sd as system.app
Boot to cwm
There adavanced there partition SD
Partition it howmuch ever u want (300mb I preferred)
Give swap to 0mb
Boot up
Connect to PC
Use mini partition tool to formatting both partitions to watevee formatt u want on PC (ext3,4 fat etc etc)
Now disconnect and reboot
open link to SD
U should.see a pop up menu
Choose water format u formatted ur SD to
Start linking

I switched over to CM 9.1, Xperia S look and feel after using Explode^1. I was using my Sd-ext as my internal memory before, but I can't seem to do so on cyanogenmod. Every time I mount the Sd-ext, it unmounts after rebooting. Can anyone tell me how to mount Sd-ext as internal memory on cyanogenmod? It'll be very nice of you

What's ua second partition. If its fat32 then change it to ext2/3/4
Typing in swift key3 from tiny explorer with ICS

My phone cannot mount a sd with a Ext 2, 3 or 4 partition for some weird reason. According to it, "the sd card may be corrupt. Please format it"....

Hmm. do one thing.. just go settings>storage>format memory card..
then turnoff us device.. put ua SD card in any old nokia fone r any samsung fone(like corby, champ). n in that go to settitngs memory formate memory card. now try to open ua gallery (in corby, champ) it ll show u sd card correpted formate it now. now just format. again it ll show like that only dont panic.. u got all ua 8GB memory back.. (if u have doubt check with ua pc). no put in ua explorer.. go recovery>then partition ua memory card with 1gb>swap 0(its ua wish 1gb is more than enough).. after that go to mount usb.. now trasfer all ua stuff to memroy card.. then reboot it.. ua problem ll solve.. cz i got this kinda problem.. then i did this.
PS - before doin this backup ua sd card. cz ull loose every thing..
now hit that button..

I saw in a discussiin that you don't get EXT partitions by partitioning the SD through recovery is this true?

if you are partitioning to use memory script or sense 4 rom...go ahead partition using recovery...doesn't makes much difference....

No. Don't change recovery. People says cwm is best. So better to not change recovery.

CMW has error mounting the ext partition..
so better switch to yannos recovery or twrp...coz on CMW you wont be able to mount ext partition..
yanoos recovery is basically CMW with ext partition support....CMW may be best recovery for others but not our phone...
Change ur recovery...Problem solved

Get A310E recovery (yannou's recovery), or simply use minitool partition wizard on your pc to create the partition.
