Hey guys,
first of all, my powerbutton stopped working some weeks ago. I thought that not much of a problem, so I remapped this thing and perfect.
I noticed, if I turn off my phone, take battery out and back in, it restarts instantly. Seems to be stucked at "ON" or something.
Well I also noticed without touchrecovery, it's quite a problem to navigate through cwm recovery.
But there's still fastboot... naaah I couldn't find the phone in Windows to install drivers, thought that's a problem of Win8, but after that I tried same thing in ubuntu with manually installed drivers... still nothing.
Okay next thing, is, there are so many apps in the market, which install some recovery, autoflash stuff... Did that, (yeah I gave root access and so on) and still nothing happened, I'm still stuck with this cwm recovery and can't install new roms.
Now my Question(s):
Is there an Option to install some new recovery?
Is there a way to get Fastboot working?
Is there a way to get the Powerbutton in this state back to work?
Or kinda best worst case, is there an option to get my Nexus back to Stock and unroot to send it in, I still got warranty but this would require stock phone...!
Thanks!

Yes, yes, yes... and yes!!! What you need is a shop that repairs phones or a store that sells new phones...

Can you boot all the way up into your android os?.. If so, you can use NEXUS ROOT TOOL KIT to flash to stock and relock it so it's "stock" for waranty..

Hmmm.... Ebay..
have you tried flash touch recovery with ROM Manager app?
---------- Post added at 03:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:30 PM ----------
Edit:
Try capacitive buttons on your current recovery. On my current recovery the search button makes the same that the power button, so if in your recovery the button have the same behaviour then you can easily flash a stock rom
Okay, i just got told: "If the power button is always pressed, fast boot does not react on input from keys or over adb.."
Hope that's not the "notsolution" for my problem... ^^

I'm kind of a noob with this but my Verizon GS3 is doing a boot loop and I have no idea how to fix it! Please help!
First off, are you able to throw ADB commands to the phone? (a lot of the time when I get stuck in a boot loop I can still throw ADB commands at it), if so, throw adb reboot recovery to reboot into the recovery.
If you can't, remove the battery to turn it off, pop the battery back in, then hold Volume Up, Home, and Power to boot into the recovery.
Once in the recovery do a full wipe.
If you are flashing a ROM it's always suggested to do a full wipe before flashing the ROM.
If wiping doesn't work then restore for a previous backup (I hope you did a backup before you did whatever you did since you weren't being detailed in what you were doing at the time).

Thanks for responding! All I was doing was backing it up through ROM Manager and after the backup it went into the boot loop. When I hold the power, home, and volume down button it goes into download mode so I can't even get into the recovery. Have you heard of this before?
Try doing Volume Down, Home, and Power instead (one does download and one recovery, I can't remember which since I do everything through adb and very rarely have to do it manually).

Well the good news is I can get into recovery. The bad news is every time I try and restore it goes back into the same boot loop for a few cycles then goes back into Clockworkmod recovery. I feel like I'm getting close here...

When I do reboot system now it says "error processing ROM Manager script. Please verify that you are performing the backup, restore, or ROM installation from ROM Manager v4.4.0.0 or higher."
Why not just flash a new rom to get rid of the boot loop? Or Odin back to stock n root all over again?

try re-install the rom
I just faced the same problem on my SGS2. Hold Volume Up + Home button + Power button to recovery mode (I guess SGS3 is the same as SGS2), then re-install the rom. If it is still not working, you may have to try another rom. To incase this problem happening, I always put two old rom and a new rom in my internal sd card, it's a lot safer, but they will use about 1GB in your phone.
Download a new ROM then flash it. Should fix your problem

The damned phone is bricked how are you going to flash another rom or wipe data? I don't think its totally bricked but it will only show the dwonload screen, buttons and usb ports do not work at all so far.
New data: after leaving the battery out for ahwil I was able to get back to the odin entry screen. I pushed the volume up and went back to where I was... this is progress. Now sure where to go from here.
Fumbling worked! Hitting the down volume worked. I am back in the previous rom. I still would like to flask 4.2.2! Please advise and comment. Thanks!

On the galaxy s3 it's down volume, power and home, then down volume to get out of the odin emulator screen. BTW captcha for a site like this reminds of the sysops of 5 line bbs' out of their mother's basements that had elaborate member approval vetting. Self importance to the disease level.
I bought a D2G off of ebay..the seller was legit and it was cheap so i thought i had a steal..the only issue was that it was stuck in bootloader and we all know that thats a open book right now.. ok so i booted it up for the first time and it showed bootloader d0.11 battery ok and that other good stuff..I had no clue what the latest firmware was that this thing had on it so i just decided to follow the numerous posts here to get it to .629 or whatever.. so I tried to use Rsd lite to flash stock..but of course it would fail at switching to Bp mode..so i tried ezsbf..its finished..after i went and did a wipe it suprisingly went straight back to the bootloader..right now the only way that i can boot into my phone period is to hold down the camera button plus power button...then release camera button as soon as the screen goes dim..anyone ever heard of this? it boots up and in settings it says version .629 but the key thing to note is that i successfully flashed the 629 repack without being able to boot 608..i flashed 608 with ezsbf it completed but would not boot so i used rsd lite to flash the repack then i could get it to boot with camera button+ power button only. If i dont press those it will not boot no matter what..well i can get into recovery also..i figured out that the phone is not and was not rooted also while the phone is booted there is no wifi and the usb connection and charger wont work..please help tried rsd lite on multiple computers but it always fails at switching to bp mode..im assuming thats because the phone wont boot by itself only with me holding that button combination
no replies? come on guys help me out.. does booting with camera button + power button hint towards any firmware version? any ideas?
it hints toward hardware failure
if you have wiped data several times, tried 629 ezsbf and rsd lite sever times
not much left

Aaandd..that's what happens when you flash without reading and understanding the procedures.
You have no idea you have no /system to boot to since you've just said you wiped it.
It is interesting that even after messing up your device, you didn't bother to search but immediately ask in dev section although this post has nothing to do with development. This is sad.

Please refrain from recommending toolkits, especially to noobs who have already gotten themselves into a bind due to lack of knowledge. We need to try and encourage learning, not provide tools to get around it.
OP needs to flash a factory image with fastboot and then read up on flashing ROMs and the like before he attempts to do anything else, unless he wants to actually brick his device next time.

You don't need recovery to flash a factory image, just the bootloader. Hold volume down while powering the phone up. It'll boot into the bootloader and from there you can flash the factory image using fastboot.
And in the future, don't wipe /system. That's why you have no OS.

Are you continuing to hold volume down after pressing the power button or are you releasing it right away? You need to hold it until it boots into the bootloader.

Then you somehow managed to wipe your bootloader, I don't quite know how. Try holding both volume up and down while booting. Again, continue to hold both volume buttons until it boots. That'll get you into the secondary bootloader. If that doesn't work, then you're screwed.

I wanted to install a custom Rom on my Nexus 5 running Android 6.0 so I downloaded TWRP latest and unlocked the Bootloader and installed TWRP.
Now the OS doesn't boot up anymore and the TWRP starts but gets rebooted all the time, and TWRP does not seem to be able to mount anything. When it reboots it looks like it automatically goes to the TWRP where it says it is running OpenRecoveryScript but it is unable to mount anything. I tried a boot start to Recovery and it worked but when I tried a factory reset it says the same thing.
I'm worried my phone will die and have further issues, I need help as soon as possible.

It could be, indeed that was my first thought as time ago it used to happen. But I've been trying as a maniac the not less maniac solution of hitting it softly and spasmodically as it turns on, but no success. Such solution it used to work, now it does not.

Ok, it looks like a f******* and annoying incredible coincidence, right after the flash, the power button arises !! BUT my last test looks like that's the problem :: While rebooting forever, I just keep the VolumeDOWN button pressed and it tries to enter the fast boot menu, as it the power certainly already pressed.
Now that I have the hammerhead open, I'll google to seek how to consistently fix that annoying problem.

I have TWRP. I had a rom installed so the bootloader is unlocked. All the guides suggest fixing it via fastboot but I cannot access that.. I think the partitions are messed up...

Hey I think you have same problem as me. It's the volume button. It's stuck at Volume - (down). So every time you start your phone, it think you want to go to Recovery. What I did was, I tap the phone little hard on my hand sideways when I boot it up. That unstucks the volume button.
It works for me but not sure if it is the correct way. Just a suggestion. Don't hold me responsible if it breaks anything else.

I wish it was that easy. I didn't have the back cover on it when I tried this.
Did you have a backup of the previous rom (if one) that would save you the trouble, if not , adb
