Hi, my Atrix seems to be stuck in a boot loop although I don't think it's totally bricked.
My phone was unlocked, rooted, and running CM7 fine for several months and then the other day while charging it via USB, several apps kept started to force close so I thought I would try rebooting the phone. Upon reboot the got to the CM7 splash screen and automatically rebooted then it would only load up the Motorola symbol then reboot again and every time after it would reboot after the moto symbol. I thought no problem I would just flash back to stock via .sbf
I plugged in the phone and RSD Lite detected it. I loaded the 2.3.4 ATT SBF file (used it before 2 or 3 times safely) then started the flashing process and waited. I got to where it said reboot phone manually, so I did. After restarting the phone, it showed the Motorola creen then the ATT screen so I had thought I fixed it. While on the ATT screen it froze for a few minutes then it entered the boot loop process again getting to ATT screen each time.
I thought maybe it was a bad flash so I tried flashing the SBF again (in hindsight, probably not a good idea). It got to same place it did before and asked me too reboot and the boot loop process started again. I tried to manually restart it by holding volume down and power, but I would get the RSD Protocol Support message.
Is my phone recoverable or is bricked? If bricked, what are my options regarding obtaining a new phone since I am out of warranty, no insurance and cant upgrade till September and don't exactly have $500 for a new smartphone?
i think your phone is recoverable soft bricked
Yes soft bricked, hey you ride a 450?

Yes, soft bricked. If you can get into download mode just flash back to stock and try again. If not, use a jig. You can also buy a jig from ebay for less then $4 buy it now , free shipping.
There might be other ways but I cannot think of any atm. Its almost 4am here lol.

soft bricked...majorly due to kernal problem..reflash the kernal
Thanks all and no I don't "ride a 450" sorry (I'm assuming by that you mean motorcycle or ATV with a 450cc engine)
oh sorry I meant to ask that question to dirtbikerr450, but yes a 450cc engine

I was finally able to get into Android Recovery by unplugging the battery then plugging in the usb then simultaneously holding volume down and plugging in the battery, I wiped the data and cache then rebooted, to my suprise it booted back up but, only to where I could make emergency calls. Tried to reflash stock with RSD Lite again this time it said passed though but I can still only make emergency calls. Any suggestions?

Nice man! Why don't you flash cm7?

I took out the sim card and wiped it and then reinserted it and the phone booted. I don't know if I want to unlock and root again, at least probably not until ICS is here. How is CM9, stable enough for everyday use?
Im not sure, but most cm9 here are still nightlys (I think) which would be stable for everyday use, so maybe next month you will start to see stable versions out

I'm kind of a noob with this but my Verizon GS3 is doing a boot loop and I have no idea how to fix it! Please help!
First off, are you able to throw ADB commands to the phone? (a lot of the time when I get stuck in a boot loop I can still throw ADB commands at it), if so, throw adb reboot recovery to reboot into the recovery.
If you can't, remove the battery to turn it off, pop the battery back in, then hold Volume Up, Home, and Power to boot into the recovery.
Once in the recovery do a full wipe.
If you are flashing a ROM it's always suggested to do a full wipe before flashing the ROM.
If wiping doesn't work then restore for a previous backup (I hope you did a backup before you did whatever you did since you weren't being detailed in what you were doing at the time).

Thanks for responding! All I was doing was backing it up through ROM Manager and after the backup it went into the boot loop. When I hold the power, home, and volume down button it goes into download mode so I can't even get into the recovery. Have you heard of this before?
Try doing Volume Down, Home, and Power instead (one does download and one recovery, I can't remember which since I do everything through adb and very rarely have to do it manually).

Well the good news is I can get into recovery. The bad news is every time I try and restore it goes back into the same boot loop for a few cycles then goes back into Clockworkmod recovery. I feel like I'm getting close here...

When I do reboot system now it says "error processing ROM Manager script. Please verify that you are performing the backup, restore, or ROM installation from ROM Manager v4.4.0.0 or higher."
Why not just flash a new rom to get rid of the boot loop? Or Odin back to stock n root all over again?

try re-install the rom
I just faced the same problem on my SGS2. Hold Volume Up + Home button + Power button to recovery mode (I guess SGS3 is the same as SGS2), then re-install the rom. If it is still not working, you may have to try another rom. To incase this problem happening, I always put two old rom and a new rom in my internal sd card, it's a lot safer, but they will use about 1GB in your phone.
Download a new ROM then flash it. Should fix your problem

The damned phone is bricked how are you going to flash another rom or wipe data? I don't think its totally bricked but it will only show the dwonload screen, buttons and usb ports do not work at all so far.
New data: after leaving the battery out for ahwil I was able to get back to the odin entry screen. I pushed the volume up and went back to where I was... this is progress. Now sure where to go from here.
Fumbling worked! Hitting the down volume worked. I am back in the previous rom. I still would like to flask 4.2.2! Please advise and comment. Thanks!

On the galaxy s3 it's down volume, power and home, then down volume to get out of the odin emulator screen. BTW captcha for a site like this reminds of the sysops of 5 line bbs' out of their mother's basements that had elaborate member approval vetting. Self importance to the disease level.
So I was in rom toolbox on my tab trying to increase my performance by increasing my ram/delvik cache, i increased it and it needed a reboot to take effect but when i did i got no boot noise and im stuck at the samsung logo, i can get into CWM recovery 6.0.1.0 and i tried to restore to my backup but it says "no files found" so i tried a factory reset but it is still gets stuck at the samsung logo b ut now i get the boot noise. any advice, maybe flash back to stock with odin, i can get into download mode.
Yeah a stock image in Odin should straighten it out.

I tried to flash cleanRom v1.1 but that only made things worse, now I don't even get to the Samsung screen. I originally used mobile Odin to get the 4.1.1 update but when I did that I started getting a very bad looking multi colored pixellated screen ( see attached) on boot between the tab logo and Samsung logo screens but it still booted, after attempting to flash cleanrom I get stuck on that same bad looking screen. I don't know what to do at this point, I'm still able to get to download and recovery, I need an android genius to help me please I'm begging you

This is because incompatibility between bootloader and kernel LCD identification. Almost all custom ROM not touch second bootloader Sbl.bin partition because not understand this incompatibility will reproduce this problem or fully understand Sbl.bin partition is a very dangerous area. Flash a full package stock firmware (have MLO and Sbl.bin inside) will resolve your problem.
I got my stock firmware from the thread posted by Sergio_f, does that firmware have those files?

What I did:
My device Samsung Tab 2 P5113 was on bootloop. I do not remember which version of Android was running on it. So, I followed this forum and using ODIN flashed 4.1.1 stock ROM. The ODIN process was successful. Device restarted -but stuck in starting process. Instead of waiting for couple of more minutes, I powered off the device and then tried to restart it.
It didnt start. It is completely black, even after connecting to PC, no change, my pc not able to detect the device in Device manager.
I am guessing I have flashed wrong Stock ROM 4.1.1 instead of ICS stock ROM. What should I do? I cannot redo this step because ODIN is not recognizing the device.
PLEASE PLEASE help.

Hey guys,
first of all, my powerbutton stopped working some weeks ago. I thought that not much of a problem, so I remapped this thing and perfect.
I noticed, if I turn off my phone, take battery out and back in, it restarts instantly. Seems to be stucked at "ON" or something.
Well I also noticed without touchrecovery, it's quite a problem to navigate through cwm recovery.
But there's still fastboot... naaah I couldn't find the phone in Windows to install drivers, thought that's a problem of Win8, but after that I tried same thing in ubuntu with manually installed drivers... still nothing.
Okay next thing, is, there are so many apps in the market, which install some recovery, autoflash stuff... Did that, (yeah I gave root access and so on) and still nothing happened, I'm still stuck with this cwm recovery and can't install new roms.
Now my Question(s):
Is there an Option to install some new recovery?
Is there a way to get Fastboot working?
Is there a way to get the Powerbutton in this state back to work?
Or kinda best worst case, is there an option to get my Nexus back to Stock and unroot to send it in, I still got warranty but this would require stock phone...!
Thanks!

You have no idea you have no /system to boot to since you've just said you wiped it.
It is interesting that even after messing up your device, you didn't bother to search but immediately ask in dev section although this post has nothing to do with development. This is sad.

Please refrain from recommending toolkits, especially to noobs who have already gotten themselves into a bind due to lack of knowledge. We need to try and encourage learning, not provide tools to get around it.
OP needs to flash a factory image with fastboot and then read up on flashing ROMs and the like before he attempts to do anything else, unless he wants to actually brick his device next time.

You don't need recovery to flash a factory image, just the bootloader. Hold volume down while powering the phone up. It'll boot into the bootloader and from there you can flash the factory image using fastboot.
And in the future, don't wipe /system. That's why you have no OS.

Are you continuing to hold volume down after pressing the power button or are you releasing it right away? You need to hold it until it boots into the bootloader.

Then you somehow managed to wipe your bootloader, I don't quite know how. Try holding both volume up and down while booting. Again, continue to hold both volume buttons until it boots. That'll get you into the secondary bootloader. If that doesn't work, then you're screwed.
