For now i use the app Ringtone, but i have no choise . I have only one mp3.
When i download music by for example app ringtones, i see all downloaded music in settings > ringtones. I want to see same way my mp3 .
i tried to put them in my documents> my ringtones, but i dont see them at all.
May anyone explane that to me please ?
Lumia 710 full unlocked with rataplan v7.0 rom
Thanks in advanced
Transfer it to zune on your PC, then edit it and make the genre ringtone, sync it, and your phone will have added it to your custom ringtone list

HI,
I dont know o2 minixda, but for Magician/Jam (mobile windows 2003) it works.
Just Copy MP3 Ring tone in Ring folder..
mydevice>windows>rings
enjoy
mp3 as ringtone
try this...it works for my xda mini...copy the file to your xda then install from there
No need to install additional software as suggested by Bechai. Asim's method is enough.

Wrong. O2 XDA mini use WE2003 so it can not be done as your way. The simple way for this topic as I had, install TCPMP soft. In Options>setting>select page>File associations then click MPEG Audio files or what kind of music files which you want to set as your XDA ringtones.
CHEER!!!
Thanks... viet......
just copy the Mp3 to the rings folder in windows.. works just fine for O2 mini.. no problems at all
Mine worked but no longer...

I have a O2 MINI. ROM 1.11.00 Radio 1.12
I had installed this fine and the mp3 tones were working jsut fine, till a few days back, i was installing applications like Fonix voice and Audionotes etc.... then i unistalled audionotes, and a few other applications and games i longer used.... and then all of a sudden my Mp3 ringtones stopped working.
when i click on the ringtone, it says that there is no application associated with this file or it is corrupt. But then when i open windows media players and open the same file it works 100%. I then installed tcpmp and associated the mp3 files.
then when i click on it, it says that the file is not found make sure that the path etc is correct or not, but when u open it individually in the player it works.....
Help me out, what should i do.... i must have deleted another file that day or something....
What should i do... help me? Would a Hard Reset work.
Thanx in advance

If you want your Android OS to recognize your MP3 as a ring tone, create a folder on your root SD Card called Media and then put a Ringtones subfolder in it. Put your MP3 ringtone in the Ringtones subfolder.
This also works for Alarms and Notifications.
SdCard\Media\Ringtones\
SdCard\Media\Notifications\
SdCard\Media\Alarms\
The next time you try to set an alarm, ringtone or notification, you will also see the ones you placed in the above directories along with the built in sounds.
Hope that helps.

I have player pro and it works dine with player pro, but I've grown to like the ICS music app. What would I have to name the files? And is there a specific extension? Cause I have a folder with artwork with an unreadable file extension

I had the same issue with the native Music app.
I couldn't see the covers after using Album Art Grabber etc.
But after I cleared the data of the music app, it fetched all the artwork.
So after using the art grabber, you should go to settings => apps => All => Music. There you push the button 'Clear data'. So you DON't have to do it all manually...
Good luck!

Why? There is a widget in the status bar whenever you listen to music ... I don't see a point for it . You can also look into headset controller and set the controls with double press of the button etc

Hi i just recently upgrade my samsung infuse 4g to Gingerbread ULCB3 all are ok the video but one thing i cant see is how to make mp3 music to set as phone ringtone i cant find it please teach me how thanks and more power..
I made a folder on the sdcard. Name the folder Media, make a folder in media called Audio. Make another folder in Audio called Ringtones, finally place the mp3 you would like in that folder. A folder called Notifications can be made as well if you want to add your own notification sounds

I don't know because i don't organize music like that...
But i would ask in the Windows Phone 8 Apps forum and not in the device
specific forum... Where a lot people will see your question.. Not many users have a Lumia 820...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1937
Also the first post right now is a Music player App in development which is asking users for features requests...

Open Windows Media Player
Find the "Play" column on the right hand side. Will be next to burn and sync tabs.
Drag and drop the contents of one folder of music into the column.
At the top you will see an option to save the contents of Now Playing as a playlist. Save it under whatever name you want.
Rinse and repeat for all other folders.
When you are done, plug you phone in and it should pop up in Windows Media Player. Select all the playlists right click, and choose "add to" sync list"
Then go to the sync list and hit the sync button.
Now when you fire up Xbox music you should have a playlist for every folder of music you had before.
