[Q]Stock firmware 4.1.2 problems - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I am using OTA update for 4.1.2 for last couple of months on my GT P3100. Few days back the touch screen suddenly not working, even I could not able to reboot . Anyway I rebooted it and found that I could not able to install any new apps, cancell button works but install button not. Then I performed factory reset. This time I found some graphics problem at my setting menu bar. Now I could not able to decide whether should I stay in this stock Rom or switch to some other Rom. What could be the possible reasons? Someone pl help.

sounds like you had a bad update and not updated corectly. I suggest you flash the stock rom manually.

Where can I get stock 4.1.2? I don't want to lose my set's warranty. I am from India. If I flash any other country firmware, what will happened ?
One more thing 4.1.1 is better than 4.1.2.

[Q] Freez Device After ICS update

hi guys
last week i update my P.6200 to Malaysia ICS rom with mobile ODIN
now sometimes my device freez & i have to hold the power botton to reset it
can anyone help me
Is there any way to root Android 4 P.6200
thanks
My wife's tab did the same thing after the update. Mine never had the problem. After trying a few different settings things, we decided just to get a replacement tab (still within 30 days of purchasing it). The replacement doesn't have the problem. Some suggested a hard reset - maybe try that as a first resort? If that doesn't work, you may need to get a replacement tab (if still under warranty).

I've had the same problem. Thought it may have been related to me bringing my Tab back from the dead (Brick-bug) but doesn't seem to be.
Everything is perfect on any honeycomb firmware but as soon as I upgrade to any recent ICS I get random freezes. Have tried the latest Russian, Malaysian and Thailand firmware and they all freeze.
Have found the original Austrian 4.0.4 release is fine though. No freezes and pretty smooth, so am sticking with that. There may be more recent builds that may be smoother and better battery but they all seem to freeze.
Give the Austrian a try and see how you go :good:

[Q] Update stock rooted galaxy tab

Hey all, I have a bought a galaxy tab 2 on android version 4.1.1 a while ago.
Back then I rooted the tablet so I could run whatsapp etc. on it.
After some research last days I noticed there were a few updates for the tab, and I decided that i want 4.1.2, (but still with root)
now my question is(since I can't update over the air):
How can i update my tab to version 4.1.2 while keeping the root acces and without losing or need to reinstall my apps?
because if i download the stock 4.1.2 ROM and install it, I lose all my apps and I need to reinstall it (from my experience with the htc legend).
thanks in advance!
Make a backup in CWM and install the ota; it seems that usually with this device OTA's will install properly when rooted.
You know, it's a sad day when your cellular service is faster than your home broadband.

[Q] N8010 4.0.4 / How to disable firmware update? It's driving me insane..

Updated to JB back in January and since then I was very disappointed with decreased performance and lag.. even factory reset did not help...
So I have made decision to flash back to ICS 4.0.4.. Everything went fine and my Note is like new The only problem is that it auto downloaded JB update again and it's nagging me every couple of hours to upgrade (which I obviously don't want to do).
ICS doesn't seem to have option in settings to disable updates.. Or at least I am not able to find it...
Could somebody hint me how can I delete downloaded JB firmware update and stop Note from downloading it again?
Thanks
DrLamok
ps: I was trying to find similar topic here on the forum but failed to find solution.

I don't know if this will work but if you just root your tab, samsung update will see it's modified and you never get updates again.
If you later wanna do updates just use odin.
Hope that helps...

[Q] Nexus 5 Not allowing to install OS, cannot mount to PC, Only bootloader or TWRP

Hi all,
I have a Nexus 5 bought In Israel. It came with 4.4.1 and I updated to 4.4.2 and I wanted a change so I installed PA ROM beta 4.
Now from here all hell broke loss...
For some reason my vibration motor stopped working completely and from time to time it gave me this weird vibration for maybe 2 hours and then disappeared again... I'm not blaming this on the ROM.
Yesterday I got an update that PA ROM beta 5 was out so I installed it through their OTA app. After the update I had no keyboard, my volume buttons did not respond well so I thought maybe the update was a bit off, So I did a Factory reset. after the reset the OS was still shaky and laggy so I wanted to go back to stock... I found a Stock odexed ROM, got into TWRP wiped everything except sd, and went on to install the new ROM.
(I did not make a backup).
Now my problem Is that I could not install the stock ROM, every time i tried to flash it it would stop and not install...
Now i'm stuck in TWRP without the ability to mount my phone to try and change the ROM... when I reboot it says I have no OS...
I tried working with the Nexus 5 toolkit and install stock from there and also nothing helps...
I tried installing the Stock from Google manually with fastboot commands and still no answer from the phone...
Please does anyone have an idea for me?

Then you have to flash the stock rom and start over, here is u tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701 to flash the rom. Google rom`s https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=nl.
I think you have to format data and the try flashing any rom, this has happened to me 2 times already. Twrp is the culprit i believe

[Completed] Stock ROM - Is this supposed to happen?

It's been a while since I've tinkered with my Note 3, usually because I fancied seeing what the Note 7 OS looked like etc.
The last time was to unroot my phone and put the official KitKat back.
Now after sometime I've had issues with services like Bluetooth so I reinstalled the stock ROM although it's BTU Lollipop this time because for some reason Odin wasn't accepting my H3G 4.4.2 stock ROM.
Nevertheless, it has installed but to my surprise, all my apps, settings and messages are still there. The Bluetooth service is now back in business too. I guess I should be pleased but I'm wondering if this should happen?
As mentioned, it's been a while since I played about with ROMs but that was when I rooted and used apps like CWM but how do I completely wipe my phone first without rooting, before installing the stock ROM?
To install a stock ROM I press Vol. down, Home & power buttons and use Odin but before this, do I use the Vol. Up option first to wipe everyting?
One little extra question please, because my KtKat ROM seems corrupted now, where can I go to get another one? I can see samMobile.com has them but you have to pay. If that's the norm now then so be it.
Thanks very much and hope you can help.
Actually, nevermind, I bit the pillow and tried the Vol. Up option first to wipe the data & partition cache.
Just didn't know if I was going to find myself unable to install a new ROM with the Vol. Down option afterwards.
Needless to say, it worked a treat!
Very happy bunny.
