[Q] Alcatel OT 995 issues with new ROM, format impossible - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a thread about ALCATEL ONE TOUCH 995, which talks about rooting and installing a new ROM issues.
I'm not new to these tasks since I've already rooted/modded Xperia X10i, Samsung galaxy S2, Nexus 7 a lot of times so I know I've looked quite enough for a solution, that's why I'm asking here for some support
To summup (but Not too many details here since I may not be in the right thread), I can't understand why this phone is so stubborn: I can boot into CWM, I can mount and unmount everything I want.
-> I formatted up to 10 times in a row /system, /system/apps, /data etc... everything I could format or wipe, indeed...
--> I tried to install some custom ROMS -> symlink failed, or couldn't format /system, errror while formatting /data ....
I even succeeded to launch aroma installer to install ICS H1N1v5.8a ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37117723 ) without any error , BUT: ----> after reboot, it was exactly as if I just did nothing... nothing erased, nothing formatted, just like before with GB 2.3.6, same wallpaper, same apps installed etc.....
So!
--> Do you know which thread deals with this kind of issues?
Thanks a lot!

[Q] Can't Mount Internal /SDcard SGS2

Hi Guys,
After installing the Jellybean version of Resurrection Remix using a clean install like I'd done a million times before, I came across the problem where now the internal "/sdcard" won't mount. I've read a lot of different threads on the web about this but no one seems to have a fix, except for a similar thread from Android Stack Exchange (I can't post it yet).
However, that doesn't work (when I use the ADB shell, I can detect the device, reboot it, remount the /system but not remount the /sdcard). I thought it might possibly be because I tried to fix it a few days ago by formatting the "phone" drive when it popped up on my after connecting it, and the page I referred to talks about the internal SD card being FAT formatted (not NTFS which WIn7 does automatically!).
I've also used Odin to reflash a stock ROM thinking that would fix it, done the whole "format", "factory reset", wiped partitions, caches and delvik caches etc etc to no avail. Now, even when I use recovery to try to mount the /sdcard I get an error, and if I try to format the /sdcard from the recovery menu that doesn't work either.
Problem started with Clockwork Mod 6.6 and so I've downgraded to 5.5 and ICS stock ROM. Still no good.
It's affecting a lot of apps (for example, I can't restore by backup password file to awallet, and it has all my banking details on there!) and I really need to fix it ASAP.
Any ideas?
I'm absolutely desperate and have spent days trying to figure this one out, but I am beat. I need some serious help here and you guys are the ones I think who could help. Anyone??
Cheers,
CJ.

[Q] Link2SD not re-mounting the partition after flashing new ROM

Hi,
First of all, thank you a lot for all the development effort that has been put in to bring the AOKP ROM up to this fantastic standard. I have been using the ICS AOKP for quite a while, and just switched over to the JB ROM. It feels a lot faster and smoother, thank you!
I have got a question on Link2SD after flashing this ROM. Apologies beforehand, if this is not the forum to post that. I had used Link2SD while on ICS to move most of the apps to the SD card. Now after flashing JB, Link2SD does not re-mount the SD card secondary partition. I selected all the options mentioned (ext2/3/4/FAT) but it fails to mount with any of those options. So I'm not able to re-link any of my apps. Does anyone know how to fix this and get my apps back?
I also tried the following as per suggestions in some of the threads: 1) mounting it in recovery: not working; gives the message error mounting sd-ext (2) deleting some of the apps like Downloads and Email: still not working even after deleting those two apps.
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I never had any problem with link2sd and ANY rom. Im on CM 10.1
Till ICS it was easy to directly download and flash roms and Gapps.
But JB roms need trimming.
What i do is.. after a clean wipe I flash any JB rom. Then remove unwanted apps.. Instal Link2sd..
change few minor system apps to user apps (not recommended, if you dont know.. what you are doing).
After linking these apps.. I always have enough mem for Gapps.
In Gapps also you have few apps which you can convert to user app and then link it.

My issue is now fixed, but in a hard way. Formatted the secondary SD card partition, and then Link2SD automatically recognized it. All the apps are gone, but at least I got the secondary partition active. Spent another half-hour downloading all the needed apps again from the Play store.

Hi
І have also had the problem.
I removed the system software of Google voice search, voice dialing, search . (Titanium Backup / un-install all user & system apps)
format ext2 or ext4.
Run Link2sd
Apparently there was no room in the system or chmod / chown
Can you tell which version of kernel you are using?
If you are on 3.x.x version, sorry to tell you that these scripts are not working till today.

Kernel 3.0.8-perf+chocolate [email protected] #1
I have Install [UNOFFICIAL] [ROM] [4.2.2] [29.3.13] Android Open Kang Project (AOKP)|Build #1 - P500
But link2d is not working.
I tried formatting ext2 and ext4, no result was not, error mount script.I knew it or not enough memory or wrong permissions set.
I mentioned that Titanium Backup can delete system apk you need to unmount the partition.
I removed the system software of Google voice search, voice dialing, search . (Titanium Backup / un-install all user & system apps)
Run Link2sd :victory:
I also had problems with link2SD.

Thanks a lot man Pavai
u save me ....:victory:
The standard and not-really-necessary idea of doing a factory-reset wipe when flashing is the problem here. I also had that zong my sdext making it read-only and nothing, nothing except re-partitioning the sdcard helped.
not working !
hi ! I have a problem , I've tried to partition sd card with cwm, minitool partition , tried ext 2,ext 3 , ext 4 , flash again ROM , install first link2sd , recreate mount scripts every time i change the method but no matter what i do , it keep telling me that the 2nd partition is not mounted and wont let me recreate mount script . Hi, you can do one of these things, by adb shell run e2fsck -fpDC0 /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 to your second partition or using gparted run a full check of second partition of your SD card in a computer card reader, after that will work. I have the same problem, but in my case i have to do this procedure EVERY DAY because at next start the read only problem starts over... ANY BETTER SOLUTION APRECIATED !!!
After factory reset, I had a read-only ext4 partition. Had to start over.
Common cause of link2sd not creating its mount scripts is too little room on /system. Try adb shell df | grep system. Need a few meg. If this be the problem, need to trim the ROM.
Can,t understand ... How to Do it In Micromax A27...in custom Rom
tell me how to do it in Micromax A27 in custom Rom Dreamboltxv2
A lot of separate issues here and in various threads:
1. Sd-ext read only after factory reset. I never do that. Had that very thing happen. Save all data from partitions to computer, repartition and copy it back.
2. Not enough room on system to process/form mount script. JB and onward, ROMs need trimming. > 3meg needed, 9meg should be plenty.
3. No room on data. Link2sd can still work and fix that. If sdext can be mounted, that is ... and a launcher can live long enough to get to lin2sd and start it!
4. Other errors creating the mount script. I am now getting "device busy ... maybe ext4 not supported ... try vfat ... etc." Ext4 is supported. I have a copy of the script which I can place myself.
5. Data integrity problems in Kitkat based ROMs. Repeated recreation of dexes on data, using it up (Link2sd's Achilles heel). Sometimes, recreating that script can stop this. If one can get it re-created. Issues 3, 4. Link2sd can get the space back, problem is keeping it.
I have raised the issues with Link2sd authors.

[Resolved] [Q] Semi-soft brick?

Thread can be closed now. Problem is now fixed, sort of. Thanks admins/mods.
Hi guys, have been reading a lot on rooting for my Samsung Galaxy SII GTI9100 for quite a while and since yesterday have rooted and flashed Paranoid Android 3.50 ROM with 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, along with Gapps. Everything seemed fine, I did a clean wipe (factory, cache, dalvik) and everything was successful, however when booted up I realised that the wipe wasn't exactly "clean" as I still had most of my data still in my Internal Memory. Along with that, I realised that my Paranoid Android Halo Features were non existent (the reason I chose PA), so I decided to do another clean wipe + flash.
Now I can't exactly remember the turn of events that follows but what happened is that my EXTERNAL sd card seemed to be unmounted after I formatted it thinking that they meant to format the INTERNAL sd card. From this point forward, neither my phone nor my PC is able to detect the EXTERNAL sd card.
I have done multiple wipes, re-flashes, read MANY of threads on xda and other sites, but it seems that with every solution I find, I get another problem. I have tried flashing other PA ROMS, even Stock ROM, but they all give me some kind of error (Status 7 I believe). I tried to do a recovery, but I recieved a md5sum error. Tried to fix that with the various methods including adb but I get "cannot find file/directory" or something along those lines. Some other errors include Signature Verification: Fail, and when I used adb to push the ROM onto my EXTERNAL sd card (surprisingly it managed to be pushed through but I can't see it on my pc/phone) and tried to install zip from there using CWM, it says something like the zip file is (bad).
Currently I'm now stuck on PA 3.50 with Gapps not installed (tried installing many times but it doesn't appear, only worked the first time). Tried with two different Gapps file but I get the usual installation error. Can't install Google Play via any external apk either.
The PA ROM that I currently have is:
pa_i9100-3.50-10MAJ2013-030547.zip
and the Gapps that ORIGINALLY worked on the first try was:
pa_gapps-full-4.2-20130603-signed.zip
Would really appreciate help, it's been more than 12 hours since I've been doing this and I haven't stopped trying except for a couple hours of sleep. Not the first time I'm rooting (have a rooted Touchpad running CM9), but didn't expect things to get so bad.
Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance.

Phone Upgrade fpr Link2SD users

Hi there!
Every time I upgrade my smartphone I struggle with link2sd. Therefor I am askin for some enlighting.
To be more specific:
Every time when it is time for a major upgrade of the custom ROM, the phone should get completely cleaned. OK - all manufacturer updates do not need this. But custom ROMs do. I don't see why, but this is an other question.
Deleting everything means reinstalling everything, which is kind of painfull for 100+ apps.
In my opinion, as I have nearly all apps linked to SD this shoud all be no problem:
Install link2sd first, let it mount the 2nd partition, rebind everything and we have a shiny day. That's what I tink every time, but it never worked.
I also use titanium backup. But I am not sure if it is intended ro restore my apps and data to SD (where they were), or restore it to internal (where is probalbly not enough space for all the stuff).
Finall the questions: Is there a step-by-step tutorial for this? Upgrading the phon, using link2sd or titanium or both?
Any hints?
Anybody did this before?
(I am asking due to an update from android 5 to 6 on my S5. And I hesitate due to the hard times it will bring with it)

Oh. Found tis finally
> I upgraded/changed my ROM and I can not see my linked apps, their files are on the 2nd partition but the system can not see the apps. How can I make them available, do I need to reinstall and relink them again?
No, if you didn't wipe data when updating ROM the only thing you need to do is to run "Recreate mount scripts" from "menu -> more" within Link2SD and do a normal (not quick) reboot.
If you wiped data, after executing "Recreate mount scripts" and rebooting, run "Relink all application files" from "menu -> more" and then reboot. All of your linked apps should be available again after reboot.
If you also wiped dalvik-cache, in addition to the above step run "Link dalvik-cache files".<
I think, this should do the trick.
But still anyone here to explain the behaviour of titanium backup?
