what rom do you recomend with long battery and internal memory... - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys,
first off all i want so say that i am a newbie... but i know that there isnt a perfect rom or a best rom, to save me some time i need your advice based on your experience.
a few days ago i rooted my p500, and i tried 3/4 different roms with 4.1.x android but with normal use, battery dont last long, only 10/11h... with official lg rom (android 2.3.3) it last 24h...
so, with your experience , what rom should i try? i dont care about design, only battery life... should i go back to official 2.3.3 android? note that i dont care if i dont have last android version...
another issue is the internal memory, before i rooted p500 i had to delete apps to install another ones. now the phone is rooted, with link2sd app i will have "more" internal memory so any rom is good in this aspect, is this correct?
thank you guys in advance, for sharing your experience

You know that there isnt best rom or perfect rom but still you keep asking....Search forums for good roms just like many others did.
Anyway if you want good battery life then stick with GB based roms.

gingersnap (android 2.3) ia very good and stable and has an option to install everything in the sd card

From all the rom's i have played with the 2 rom's with good battery life are icysnap 1.6 and gingerbreak. Icysnap 2 seems to have lot a lot of battery life. Also for icysnap 1.6 you have to partition the sd card and execute a script to use more of the sd card as internal space.
Unfortunantly i have not yet seen a JB rom that doesn't absolutely burn through battery. I am guessing that the JB os runs a lot more stuff in the background or the processes take a lot more computing power. This is just speculation by me though i know very little about androids other than how to root and flash rom's and even at that i used super one click to root this thing.

LG-500p cm 7.2: installation and bugs

hey im new in the this section cuz this is my moms phone and she needs an upgrade
i didn't find some answers to my questions so i will ask them here
1.Cm 7.2 is bugless?
2.what is the best ClockworkMod based recovery for this phone?
3.what Rom could you suggest me ?(battery life is the most important thing)
Don't mess with your moms phone.
Stock rom is the best option for people who only use it as a phone (calls/texts/light internet surfing) so unless she wants to change a new theme everyday, game all day long in [insertdemandinggame] or need 70 apps at one time, you don't need any other OS on it other that stock
here are your answers
1) yes stable release of cm7.2 is bugless , nightly version may or may not have bugs.
2) best version of clockwork mod is 5.0.2.7, i recommend amonra
3)for battery life cm7 is good or you can check oxyen gingerbread(by popdog)
hope i helped

I recommend you use the Stock Rom which you are using right now!!
Root it.. uninstall all system aaps which your mom doesnt use!!
Its a smartphone so dont think of getting battery backup more than
1nhalf day.
Save battery by lowering screen brightness.
Keep WIFI / 3g / 2g / GPS.. OFF.. till you need them.

Disadvantegs Of Roms

I want to now the desadvantages of roms i know that is not trusted and it harmful for phones .
And i want 2 no if the roms support Arabic like Official roms or not ?
You need to find it yourself, it is the best way to find advantages or disadvantages.
megachel said:
There are no disadvantages aas such. You will have to research and try the roms for yourself. The advantages however are plenty.
Many custom roms, especially if based on stock or cm will have all these languages. Again, research is your friend.

Any One said their Disadvantages ?
disadvantages worthwhile discussion
I think disadvantages is a worthwhile discussion. Since installing SynergyRom I've had a lot of questions and gotten no help here. I lost voicemail and battery drainage is higher than before. It installs an application tab at random intervals and takes it off randomly as well.
Disadvantages :
Your battery might die faster, some features not working, default apps gone, bricking your phone
Advantages :
Extending the life of your phone, makes it much more smoother, not so much lag, you'll get extra features like tablet mode etc, more space in the internal memory.
It all depends on what type of Rom and the Kernel. All my android devices are rooted and are running on custom roms and its probably the best decision I've done. Sure, sometimes the battery will die faster but you can easily fix it by resetting the battery stats or by flashing another rom. The advantages outweighs the disadvantage imo.

Well! official roms are stable but slow & sometimes laggy! But custom roms are fast but sonetimes not stable! & you should not worry about stability, in custom rom it's worth it!

Sure ?
The only way you could brick your device is if you 1) flash a rom meant for another device 2) improperly flash it, not following the instructions
Most of the time, bricking is caused by the errors made by the flasher.
If you want to have a stable custom rom, don't flash those roms with the words 'nightly build' or 'work in progress' and read the comments, see if anyone mentioned any problem with that rom.
Sent from my YP-G70 using xda app-developers app
Bricking isn't a "disadvantage". It's something at happens when peiple don't do their research. Luckily for them, there are still solutions to fix a hard brick, even.
The disadvantages of ROMs are really that they require you to understand the device and how to use it. That's ROMs i the a whole, not trying to pick between them (and even the stock ROM is stilk a ROM...).

Need advice: Google apps for MIUI 2.4.20 (Gingerbread)

Hi all,
I'm trying to give my phone a refresh after those 2 or 3 years it has served me. It started to behave a little laggy lately and also the battery begun to dye away rather quickly, so I bought a new battery today and decided to do a clean re-install of everything.
The Gingerbread MIUI (1.12.23) was by far the best rom for this phone and it was running very smoothly. Definitely better then any later MIUI I ever tried. So I found this MIUI 2.4.20 zip file, which I thought is what I'd like to flash and use now.
If someone of you kindly could direct me towards an fitting flashable zip with the additional Google apps, that would be awesome. I definitely make some good use of those Google apps.
Thanks.

Oh yeah, and do you think, that a lowering responsiveness of the phone could be a result of the battery not supplying enough power anymore? Like a constant undervolt?

Hey man thanks for the idea! I have installed MIUI 2.4.20 today and I will definitely keep it. It has all that I need, runs smooth with about 400 MB free RAM and the photo quality is great.
To answer your GApps question: go here, download and flash gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip or gapps-gb-20110828-newtalk-signed.zip, whichever you prefer - both are fine.
Also if you like sweep2wake this kernel will provide it. I am not advertise my work but I flashed it and it is fine.
Another advice: the MIUI installation script will format your system partition as ext3 so if you have 4EXT recovery, reboot to it and convert (NOT format) your system partition to ext4

What ROM do you recommend me to use? STOCK, CM7, CM9, CM10...

Hello.
I'm flashing my wife's ChaCha with different ROMs and I was wondering if there is something better than Stock based ROMs.
I value most battery life, second memory space (have the SD card partitioned and using Link2SD right now). Don't need HTC Sense or any other bloatware.
I just need the camera to take pictures, so I can sacrifice the front camera too...
So, what ROM do you guys recommend me to try to have the BEST battery life?
- Stock based (like Hegoxen
- CM7
- SuperOSR 2.5
- CM9
- CM10

I was having problems with the DIALER draining the battery, so yesterday I flashed SuperOSR (CM7.2 based) and so far drainage issues seem to have stoped.
Will post again in a couple of days with the results.

Fastest ROM?

Hello all
Stuck with my old P500 for a couple of weeks so I've decided to try a couple different roms, I'm running the : [DEV][ROM][4.4.2][CM11] KITKAT for LG-P500 [WIP][VER-10 OTA]
At the moment, but it's too slow, everything lags on the phone, so basically looking for the fastest stable rom where tethering works, I don't care if it's gingerbread, ICS jelly bean etc, just want the fastest, any one got any recommendations?
Thanks

I am using the same KITKAT rom VER-10 , Running smooth..
Lag may be because of low internal memeory.. Use Link2sd n move apps to sd-ext , that would free up some space on the internal memory.
If u want to go back to older roms..
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574523
stock ROM looks and feel..
OR Try hephappy's rom for ICS
http://www.mediafire.com/download/m3nqsrfyyjmry9e/cm-9.2.3-ICS-PLUS-p500.zip (Not sure if Tethering works.. Find out)
Every version of that ROM I've tried lags, my internal memory is 60mb i can't move anything else over via link2sd most of it's system apps, everything lags for me, even typing a text message takes forever..
Thanks I'll check those out.

Tethering works on ICS and JB too but phone reboots after turning it off.
It's completely functional without that little flaw.

I vote for one of the Oxygen roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325386&page=127
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1833218
The first one wins for me in the speed/battery life category.
