[DISCUSSION] LG P500 will run well with Android 5.0 - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

According with VR Zone, the phones that run with 512 MB of ram will run well in Android 5.0
FONT: http://vr-zone.com/articles/exclusi...ate-october-will-be-well-optimized/36950.html

This is assuming that it can even fit on our system partition and depending on whether or not they are bringing in mostly armv7 features. Hopefully they keep this in mind and realize that most phones with 512 mb ram are probably armv6.

This will keep this in mind because the Firefox OS, Tizen and so one run with low-devices

Not gonna happen IMO. The system partition will be too small.

i had an HTC magic. That phone is like an htc dream (t-mobile G1)... I mention it because htc dream has 256 mb of rom and 192 mb of ram. both phones are able to run correctly CM7, and partialy CM9... The htc dream were sold initialy with android cupcake and then where updated to donut. Cyanogenmod brough eclair and froyo to those phones and other developers (mostly on XDA) brough CM7 and CM9. In any case, the system partition and ram where a limitation, and that's because there are solutions for that (sd-ext and swap partitions? ---> correct me if i'm wrong)
The G1 (and the magic) were able to run correctly at least 5 versions of android. (officialy 2 of them) even with the BOOM of snapdragon procesors, G1 chipset were outdated (and i said this because there are octacore procesors out there and we have that Old and ****ty msm7227). Many other phones has the same history and what i suppose about that is that we would have at least 5 versions of android running correctly and actually we have officialy 2, and another 2 ported by these great and awesome developers here on XDA.
At least 1 additional version of android should run correctly in our optimus one. And maybe more... I understand that all what i said will depend of the evolution of android but Hey! we need to keep the hope right?
PD: sorry for my bad english. I did as best as i could...

Our device is already running 5 versions of android ...
2.2
2.3
4.0
4.1
4.2
And ...we would be able to run even the 4.3 ..and 5.0 as well ..
And for the system partition ..
I am currently on cm 10.1 and after cleaning useless crap from system
I have 28 mb of free storage in system partition

I hadn't expected our p500 to go till 4.2.2 or even ICS without proper bugs
But here they are without any MAJOR bugs
Let's hope our phone is the longest lasting phone on xda

Some dual cores and even single cores can beat many quad cores ..

I think that it´s false because if google do this, will be very bad for they. The Tizen OS, Mozilla OS and Ubuntu Touch run in lower devices so I think that Google will do the same

And available ranges from 50 - 200 MB.....
Matr1x kernel v22...
All in all a pretty quick port of Jelly Bean, unfinished though it may be.
Google claims that it will be available for us Nexus S users mid-July officially. I'm not so sure about that date and I'd sure like to see if a "daily" port of JB is any lighter for our device than ICS. I really like ICS but it feels like our phone is slow no matter what ROM+kernel combo we might use compared to GB. I think that patience is key for this update...

[Q] Will it be hard to port the new Jelly Bean 4.1?

Will it be as hard as porting ICS to port Jelly Bean 4.1 to our device?
Or is it impossible?
MOD Edit...
All 4.1 Jelly Bean should go right here.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28092822#post28092822

I think that once ICS is working properly, porting 4.1 won't be as much of a job as it was to make ICS work. Don't expect it to be available soon, though.
Yes I would be happy to have fully functional Ics
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda app-developers app
jelly beans has almost same drivers and structure as ics.
once we have functional ics . then the new jb will not be hard as much as ics. that is why it is version 4.1 not 5.0. it means that the jb has minor updates not completely new.

Alright so Cyanogenmod has posted on Google+ that the international S3 has a got a working 10.1 ROM. What is the difference in the two devices?

I think we should see one soon but the devices are for the most part different. The international is running the Exynos 4412 with 1gb of ram while we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 with 2gb of ram. So basically the hardest part of getting it working is completely different on the two devices.

Because at the time the exynos 4412 didn't support lte or tmobiles hspa+ 42 so the us got a dual core version, but to compensate they gave us 2gb of ram

Not to mention that dual Snapdragon S4 cores are almost as good as quad core A9 cores in benchmarks. They're probably better in most real world scenarios where the increased clock speed and ipc of the S4 will outperform in apps that aren't designed to take advantage of four cores.

CM10.1 will boot on the i535.
But the screen will not activate since the proprietary driver doesn't play nice with the new code.

Hmm...it should be compatible with out processor, "Basically, it should work on any phone which with a ROM based on Android 4.0 or later and an ARM or x86 processor." Obviously you're running CM7 which would need the experimental gingerbread version....maybe the gingerbread port doesn't support our processor or maybe it wasn't ported correctly. I've seen a lot of crazy modules in the android development and hacking forums. I'm running a 4.0.4 aosp rom so I think I'm going to give this a shot when I get home from work today. I'll let ya know if it works out twitch.
