Alright so Cyanogenmod has posted on Google+ that the international S3 has a got a working 10.1 ROM. What is the difference in the two devices?
(Regular S3 and international version)
And are we gonna see a 10.1 ROM for the USA version?

I'm sure we will we a 10.1 ROM soon. And the international version has a quad core CPU while the us version has a dual core.

Also less ram, and some other hardware. Oh and different partitions (that's why an international ROM hard bricks us).

Yes we are getting it in the near future. We DO NOT ask for ETA's EVER on ANY cyanogenmod release.

I think we should see one soon but the devices are for the most part different. The international is running the Exynos 4412 with 1gb of ram while we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 with 2gb of ram. So basically the hardest part of getting it working is completely different on the two devices.

Because at the time the exynos 4412 didn't support lte or tmobiles hspa+ 42 so the us got a dual core version, but to compensate they gave us 2gb of ram

Not to mention that dual Snapdragon S4 cores are almost as good as quad core A9 cores in benchmarks. They're probably better in most real world scenarios where the increased clock speed and ipc of the S4 will outperform in apps that aren't designed to take advantage of four cores.

Was just joking bud, don't take it to heavily lol

CM10.1 will boot on the i535.
But the screen will not activate since the proprietary driver doesn't play nice with the new code.

link to the google+ post please. i want to start following. i searched the cyanogen place i have followed but didn't see anything about the i535 maybe i am at the wrong one. i am psyched about the possibility of 4.2.

S3 or Note II

Yes another thread. But I currently have the s3 and am thinking of getting the note 2. Only thing is I don't want to be like a beta tester for VZW. Should I go for it or stick with the s3. I have unlimited data so not a problem

With S3 now having multi Window support from 4.1.2 the only reason to get a note would be the S Pen, and 2GB RAM unless you have the i9305 and the bigger screen..

It's for the international S3 so I would have a hard time porting it.
If you find a ROM from another US S3, I'll be glad to do it for ya :good:
Well since this from the International version don't expect any takers. If it was from another carrier but still the US version they would be more willing to do it.

Lol. I thought you're trolling with the English, but I see you're in a different country. :good: for trying and knowing the basics
i9500 is the international version which does not support LTE but does have the Exynos ("octa-core") processor.
i9505 is the US, UK, German, etc version which contains the Snapdragon 600 (quad-core) processor. Supports LTE.

English may not be your first language, though with almost 500 posts here on XDA, you should know by now how this works.
I don't think you guys quite understand what he's trying to say....
He's trying to say that the I9505 should be called the international version since its going to most if the markets/countries...so in a way it is an international version...its just not labeled as the international version

This is true, they both are international version non lte or with LTE, Hong kong has both available at same price, your choice is dual quad core or LTE.
For what I read if you want the best of both, get the korean version SHV-E300K, dual quad core with LTE.

Rom Port request

Back in my early S3 days when I was on ATT, there was a Rom called Wicked for the ATT S3 variant.I was hoping that someone may take a shot at porting it to the i535 for Verizon. (With the devs permission of course) I know its an older Rom but it was pretty decent as I recall.I appreciate it in advance.

Yeah most likely. . I doubt that much will change with the TW UX. Being able to slide through screens in the phone app and In settings would be nice.. but I have a feeling that Samsung won't implement that.. (shaking fist)

I doubt that the new TW will look much different than it does now. And I'm sure that when official 4.4 makes its way to our device it'll be ruined in some way by Samsung. There are a lot of things I like about TW but pure AOSP KitKat is going to win every time

There's still some things broken in CM 10.2 and the other 4.4 ROMs that are being worked on, which is why I still use 4.3 at the moment. Source coding should make it easy to fix those issues, and fully functional ROMs should come from it.
But I could be wrong, that's just my experience from other phones and other android versions. And what Samsung released today may not even be the same kind of source coding that I'm thinking of.

When the 4.4 GPE update hits, it'll be easily converted to work on all carrier S4's based off the Snapdragon 600. The international version, however, is a completely different story.

No, that OTA is for the Google Play Edition S4. Not the i337 or any other i337X phone.
But if you have a recovery installed on your i337X, then you can install a ported version of this OTA.
I doubt i337X will see KitKat OTA official for 3-4 more months.

Yes, the reason why I posted this was for your mentioned reason, custom recovery installs. I wasn't referring to any 4.4 based TW OTAs from the carriers.
