My partner has recently got a nokia lumia 820 which is locked to (UK) T-Mobile. Ive always thought that in the uk the phones were sold unrestricted but looks like I'm wrong.
After searching around with no luck, I'm wondering if anyone knows a way of unlocking these phones to any network without having to go through websites etc. I know in the past I've flashes different network firmware onto galaxy s2 as a work around but not done anything to the windows phone yet

Thinking of buying a new/2nd hand phone and was lookin at the evo 4g, it sez its locked to sprint network-I assume this is a u.s.a network as iv not heard of it in the UK? If it is,is it possible to unlock it to use in the UK on T-mobile...if not,is that the case with all evo 4g mobiles?.....If anyone has any better ideas for me I.e different phone or you have one of similar spec for sale please let me know, is the evo a lot better than the galaxy s i9000 not the s2. And if you've used 4g,isit really 10 times faster than average 3g..thnx in advance.

The evo 4g cannot, it does not use a sim card. If you want to import a phone I'd first suggest looking through t-mo US phones then last resort would be ATT but you wouldn't get 4g with an art phone or even 3g, just edge.
Hi Im looking to get a phone from China but dont know where to start since this would be my first phone from there..
my question is simple, just wondering if there is, and if someone has recommendations, a phone that can work on sprint?
the bigger the screen the better
China phones typically are GSM phones, since only the United States uses CDMA. The only place you can get Sprint phones are from Sprint and are branded Sprint.
Now if you were on AT&T or T-Mobile, then China phones would work

hi
I love the look of this phone...I currently have the Sony Xperia Pro and this phone is a step up, memory and processor wise....
However I am nervous that if I buy one on ebay that maybe it will be incompatible with Rogers, just wondering if any clever OR knowledgeable soul with first hand experience would know if this will work on the Rogers network in Canada?
Any replies will be very much appreciated thank you
No problem at all, you can completely unlock your future phone using this. Worked for me in Germany.
I'm using one in Canada on the Wind network. It's working great.
Hello everyone, I just have a quick question.
I currently have a Samsung S3 (The AT&T one, I unlocked it, which calls and data works just fine), but I have been having some problems with it so Im thinking of upgrading to the Nexus 5 when it is available.
The problem is, I dont know if N5 would work with bands in Mexico (Im currently using Telcel carrier) anybody would tell me?
Also.. if I buy the N5 through google play will it come unlocked right out of the box?
If you buy a Nexus 5 from Google play, it will come unlocked out of the box. Just use the sim card in your current phone, and it should work just fine. I assume the bands would be similar to the ones on your AT&T S3 since the Nexus 5 was leaked to support a wide variety of bands.
Hey guys and gals, not really new here just don't post very much, but I've gotten myself in a predicament. I recently bought a SM-G930T off of Craigslist but it is already factory unlocked so I could use it on Metro PCS. The thing about it is it is a 64GB phone which I know wasn't released in the United States yet. So I called Metro PCS to get the phone activated and the phone has a contract under it so I cannot use it. Does anyone know where my phone is from? It has the Snapdragon 820 CPU according to CPU-Z. Just trying to figure out what I can do with this thing instead of using it as a Galaxy S7 Touch
Thanks in advance,

Was probably stolen bro
Few things you can do: check the IMEI at Swappa's ESN check: see if the phone is A) not a fake B) not stolen/blacklisted.
If the phone isn't stolen/blacklisted, you could try to get a sim card and put it in.
How is there a contract on an unreleased phone?
You sure this phone is an international 64GB version of our phone in the US? not sure even China or the other places have our processor and 64GB of ram

I think he has an international version (most likely) or a clone. I sold my htc 10 to some dude and the reason he bought my phone was because he said it's really slow and imei changed. So at a glance, the phone was identical to my S7. The biggest difference was obviously the display and it's brightness, also it's somewhat more laggy than the s7 already is. And lastly the fingerprint didn't work AND didn't even see it on the settings. I can see how an average dude can get tricked but even I couldn't believe my eyes, I switch phones about 6-7 times a year and this is by far the best clone I've seen.
Why don't you try using a tmobile sim card? Isn't metro cdma under tmobile's network? just try to convince them and threaten to leave then lol
