The problem started about a week ago. Whether it was coincidence or not I don't know but around the same time the software updates through OTA update and u replaced the battery (Zerolemon 7000).
Anyway, what happens is that if my phone is asleep and I get a call or text, the screen comes on, but I can't answer the call or text (screen is unresponsive) until I tap the power button twice to turn the screen off and then back on. At that point the screen works perfectly.
I've tried clearing the cache and changing batteries but it didn't change anything.
Any ideas? I'm completely stock and unrooted.

OK so weird things started today with my G1....I turned it on this morning like I do every morning after its been on the charger overnight...
Checked my messages, was running really slow...chompsms kept force closing.
Came back about 5 minutes later and it was still flashing the green light, but I try to get the screen back on and it would come on.
took battery out...turned back on...did the same thing once screen timed out...
took battery out again..turned back on...got a phone call while screen was on time out...show nothing just vibrated, no ringtone played either....
took battery out again..turned back on...turned screen time out to NEVER...phone froze about 3 minutes later on Home screen..
What is the phones problem? Should I reflash jf1.42 Rc33 ?
It just keep freezing after a while, everytime someone calls it freezes on call screen (when the call screen does show up, sometimes id doesnt)
getting very pissed at this thing, wanna throw it....HELP....
I took the sdcard out and it has worked fine since.....odd? Im going yto need to put it back in to use newsrob......any help?
For the past 5 days I have not able to answer any calls while my phone is locked. I have tried deleting all my apps and doing a master reset and can not figure out what the problem is. As soon as I set the phone down and wait 30 seconds for it to lock I can not answer any calls unless I keep the screen on which is draining my battery. I really love this phone but this problem is very annoying. I have to decline the call and then call them right back. Has anyone experienced this yet with their phone? I hope I'm not the only one.
Are you using some kind of application to lock/unlock your phone, instead of the power button or screen time out?
I had the same problem when I used tasker to put a delay on the lock when my screen turns off. In tasker I have set it to unlock the phone as soon as the screen turns off, wait 10 secs, then lock again if the screen is still off. I had this setting so that I do not need to keep on unlocking if the screen suddenly turns off while I'm still using the phone. This caused my call screen to only display the 'end call' button when a call comes in. After disabling the rule on tasker, I did not have that problem anymore. So if you are also using another app to lock the phone, that might be your problem.
I had an app called Mr. Number installed and it was causing the same problem on my phone. Once I uninstalled it, incoming calls worked just fine.
I did have the app Mr. Number installed and since uninstalling it have had no problems. I emailed Mr. Number and they're trying to get a sensation to test this problem on so I dont know how long this problem will last.

not if I'm in the right place to post this but,,,,,, what happens is that my nexus 5 ceases to vibrate completely for a few hours, whether or not activated the vibration, I have it set to always vibrate, calls, messages, etc.
but like I said only stops vibrating as in a few hours back the vibration, I've made a reset to factory, turn off and turn on the phone, but that does not help and does not happen every day but sometimes from week to also Signed in safe mode to verify that an application is not what is causing this but nothing I can not change because the lost with the guarantee that the holes for the increased volume ,,, any idea why this happens and any solution, thanks
You could return to stock, flash the factory image, and hope it solves the problem. But I'm guessing not and it's a hardware issue
I've had an odd problem with my 820 almost since getting. I'm hoping one of you geniuses have some advice.
When I turn it on it works perfectly, sometimes for hours. Then the screen goes blank, and then random pixels begin to appear, starting at the top of the screen. Outdoors rather than random pixels the screen goes almost totally green. Strangely, if part of the screen is obscured the green only covers rhe exposed area.
Pressing the on button repeatedly usually brings back the lock screen and reset (on+down) fixes the problem for another few hours.
By the way, eventhough I can't see the screen the touch sensor works. For instance I can hold theon button and then swipe downwards to turn off the phone. I can also answer and hang up using earphones.
My daughter who purchased the phone said it worked fine until the amber update. I had hoped the black update would fix the problem but no change. I found some posts from people with the same problem who sent the phone in to be fixed and got it back in the same condition. I really don't want to go through the hassle unless I expect to get it back fixed. I'd rather try fixing it myself.
My question is whether this is a firmware problem an whether it is likely that re-installing the stock black rom would do any more than the ota install that occurred automatically did (or didn't do).

By the way it seems to happen only, or mostly when in standby.
I installed an app that displays a clock and doesn't allow the phone to go into standby mode,
and the problem doesn't appear to occur (unless I forget to leave the app on top).
I would set the phone to standby = "never" but the option isn't available on my phone, though
I understand that there are those with the standby = "never" option.
Any idea if I can set standby = "never" with keyboard commands, perhaps?
I'm 100% stock. I don't get hangouts and email notifications with the screen off. When I hit the home key to unlock, they all come through at once.
It's as if my data, wifi or network, is off when my phone is off.
How do I fix this? I cannot not get emails! I use this thing for business and I am missing things that are time sensitive.

So I reset my phone, it's still doing this. I've been testing more, and I just don't get any data with screen off.
I can start a download and turn the screen off, come back 5 minutes later, and unlock, and it will resume where I left off.
This sucks.
