I see! Here's how you do it:
Type about:debug in the adress bar. (nothing seems to happen but it does)
Go to settings and the last alternative, it probably says something like debug (my tablet ain't in English).
Set the UAString to desktop (or whatever you prefer).
Hope this do the trick for you

Trick to get the browser to display full html and no mobile

In browser address bar type about:debug enter.. Now go to settings and scroll all the way down. Now change to your desired uastring... To go back, just about:debug again.
Also now when you download you don't get that dumb few kb file thats a .htm file... You can Even download 100+ mb files without getting that.htm error..at least it works for me..

[Q] MIUI Control Panel question...

I don't understand how to use one of the newer features of MIUI. or maybe it is just an .apk I'm not sure, but there is an app called MIUI Control Panel.
Inside the app called MIUI Control Panel, it talks about a "App Drawer"
and some options that can be set for the "App Drawer"..... I did not
know that MIUI now had an App Drawer ? Were is it and how can I open it ?
There is an option for the 'Pulldown Location' of the App Drawer, but again
I am not sure were this Drawer is ?
Please help.

If you choose right side it is right underneath your clock it is a little difficult to grab.

If you click enable it should be just a pull down. You are going to try and grab the line underneath the battery. The best way to see if it worked is to open up the camera and try to switch to the front camera. It's impossible if it's working. That is why I have it set for center

Browser question

OK, my wife has a kindle fire and she is able to switch her web browser to where it won't show mobile sites but full web pages. Can we do this? I've looked but can't find anything. I'm fully stock with ics.

Type "about:debug" into the browser's address bar and hit enter
Click the menu and enter settings.
Go to Debug and change the UAString to desktop.
This method is universal with almost every android device.

Also on menu is 'request as desktop site'.

That didn't do anything but the second one I was able to find. I guess I never noticed it before. Thanks!

Request desktop site will not display the desktop version of all sites by default.
Changing the UAString in settings does....
If you hit enter after you type about:debug then hit enter, nothing noticeable should happen. It will however give you the debug options in settings where you could change your UAString setting to desktop.
Once you close the browser it will clear your debug settings, but you can activate it again by typing about:debug then hit enter and it will immediately load your prior debug settings.
If it doesn't work for you then your doing something wrong.
I use this on the Xoom and my Android phone since the "request desktop site" option doesn't work for most of the sites I do business in.

[Q] Hotspot app missing

Is it just me or is the hotspot app icon missing from the apps tray? I did a factory reset and it still not there. I can start it from the settings menu but i would like a shortcut on the start screen at least. Any ideas?

I am rooted. My search for notification icon or shortcut for hotspot in xda has come up short. If anyone has a link to a fix, that would be appreciated.

1. Open up SQLite Editor - Select the Apps tab on top and scroll down until you see Settings Storage and click it.
2. Click on settings.db
3. Click on system
4. Click on the search icon on top right
5. Type in the word notification in the Filter Value field and click ok
6. Once the results load up, tap on notification_panel_active_app_list (should be 3rd from the bottom result) and click on the pencil icon on top to edit
7. In the Value field, you'll see all your toggles listed. All you have to do is add the word WiFiHotspot right after “Wifi”<-- just like that with a semi colon right after. Make sure there's no space after the semi colon. Once you add WiFiHotspot, click the save button.
8. Close SQLite editor and reboot your phone and verify
