SCH-I425 - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know of any current development projects to bring custom software to the l925 version of this awesome tablet? I'd be willing to do some testing if necessary.

Ubuntu Touch porting ( Porting Guide for Dev's )

Yesterday the guys at Canonical launched Ubuntu Touch for Phablet's and released pre-built images for the Nexus line of phones.
Today the porting guide for other devices is out : https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting
And it bring great news for anyone that is looking to run Ubuntu Touch on their device as it is based around Cyanogen Mod 10.1 .
Any devices supported by CM 10.1 should be able to run UT with relative ease.
I went over the guide and they used the Galaxy Tab 2 as an example of such a port.
From what I can see it is Android without the Java bits , Ubuntu itself runs on-top of the Android framework within a container. It's similar to how we ran till now Linux disto's on-top of Android but instead off using VNC to get access to an emulated X server Ubuntu uses Surface Flinger as it's display server.
And it's been ported to the Galaxy S3 : http://rootzwiki.com/topic/39299-romwip-ubuntu-touch-on-d2vzw-dev-previewphantom-022213/
Im building it as of now. But am stuck at the new device config part. if any dev could help out, it would be appriciated.
Can you give more details on where exactly are you stuck.
as said in thre earlier post, at the adding a new device config
what device are u trying to...and where exactly are u stuck?
Galaxy note 2. While making the new device config. Tho sources almost synced
Already porting it over to the T-Mobile Galaxy S III (d2tmo).

Ubuntu on P5110 possible safely?

I have been looking around to see if it is possible to safely install Ubuntu on my
Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 but can't find anything on it. Simply put, can I do this?
If not possible any recommendations for good Roms, besides CyanogenMod and Aokp?
Thanks in advance!

If an image for the 5110 hasn't been created yet, then no. Even if it has been created the Ubuntu images aren't as simple to install as Android roms so be mindful of that. There are imporant extra steps to follow. Also, the Ubuntu source code is still a little new, so there's likely to be a few things that arent' working quite right yet. If you're looking for something clean adn stable stick withe Android roms for now. Though I can't imaging it'll be too much longer before someone creates an 5110 image for Ubuntu...there's already one for the 7 inch tabs.

2014 S-Note App

The new S-Note on the Note 10.1 2014 looks to be more fluid and much easier to use. I hope it can be ported and or made available by Samsung for the 2013 edition Note.
Check out its function in this video @ 13:20 mark
Is it possible to port this app even though the 2014 edition runs android 4.3?

It seems that we had to receive a 4.3 update in a few days or so...
Hope it will happen.
Coz apps will be updated too

No no no i dont have any secret source of information.
Just AFAIR the updates were scheduled for 1st part of october. It was the last leaked info i read some time ago.
Also note 2 firmware has leaked - and it's a sign that shows that 4.3 fwares for 2012 devices are almost ready...
Hope sammy wont fail this time.
Sorry for not being exact
Thanks

I'm also searching for the new SNote app to be posted over to my 10.1. If anyone has a clue on how to go about porting it over from my N3 to my tablet, I'm all ears.

My recommendation is stock or cm 10 if you want more or less full function.

Stability is really depending on what it is you are doing. Take the time to read the products provided in the development threads.
Thread moved as well, as this is not development. And, as xda is not a support site, thus thread is closed.

Any hope for non Cm11 roms?

I love how minimalistic cm 11 is but I can't stand the simple boring interfaces like the phone app. Didn't know if anyone knew if any other Rome could possibly be ported to here that weren't cm 11 based.

Just wait for some time until developers are able to get the phone (invites will roll out next week on friday), so give it another month and there will be more ROMs here for sure. Just be patient!
I am positive we are going to at least see a ColorOS version pop up, it by far is already a ROM we can flash only needs converted to English if it hasn't already.
We should see custom ROM support when more people and developers finally get the device in hand.
