Having problem to intall rom.zip into recovery - HTC Butterfly

Having problem to intall rom.zip into recovery
Hello everybody,
I was messing up the backup by performing fullwipe, so there are nothing left inside my phone (nandroid, rom.zip)...
I realized above just right after I factory reset it, so long story short, I have no rom.zip to flash.
Then I copied the rom.zip from my pc to the external micro sd, and put it in, cwm recovery can't mount it...
I directly connected the phone to pc using usb cable, pc can't recognize my phone, nor the micro SD.
It's not bricked for sure, just no rom file to flash, and I stuck here, don't know how to make the rom.zip into either internal or external micro SD.
So, I am here to ask you guys for the kindly help.

[Q] Big Help Please

I did a full wipe and i forgot to put in a CUSTOM ROM in the SD CARD..
what do I do!??! help
Don't quote me on this, but you should be able to put your SDcard in a card reader and put it on your card as PD98IMG.zip and Hboot will flash it.

Download the custom rom and place it on the sd card. Boot into recovery, do a full wipe, install custom rom.

This is true. I softbricked mine the other night pulling fonts around. Pull your sd card out and go to hboot. (you could leave it in if you DO NOT have a pd98img on your card) then reinstall after you get to recovery. As posted above you should still have your original rom on your sd card flash this if you don't have a cardreader. Good Luck!
where can I get this pd189.img
Download the ROM you want to your computer and rename it exactly to PD98IMG.zip and copy it to the root of your SDCARD. Hboot will automatically install it.

its easier to just put the rom on your sd card and boot into recovery..... Did you not make a nandroid back up? If you didn't then maybe that is something you might want to start making a habit of...
Get into recovery from hboot. There is an option in there to enable usb and you can use it like an flash drive like in android. Here are the steps.
1) boot into hboot (volume down then power button)
2) use the volume rocker to go to recovery
3) in recover scroll down to mounts and storage
4) scroll down to mount usb storage
This should allow you to view your sd card like u do in android when u select usb mode. From here you can put your rom on unmount and install. Good luck hope this helps.

[Q] HBOOT automatically likes to update SD ZIP after Revolutionary

I've found a lot of threads, but I need some pointed help up here. I just got my Sensation XE and like to root this device. But after the Revolutionary tool It got S-OFF but whenever it's getting into the HBOOT it likes to update (parse) the SD ZIP.
Can someone help me out how I can get into Recovery mode without getting the update question every time I get into HBOOT?
Hello,
you simply need to remove the zip file or rename its extension.
Tell me if I'm wrong, but once you're S-OFF you have to install Rom Manager that will download and flash the ClockworkMod Recovery for you.
Hope this helps
You're right... I just found out that it was searching the zip files and deleted the file! Stupid of Me...
I'll see if I can find a nice HTC Sensation Rom for the XE.
Thnxz

I got the same problem except i got a rom i cant use with the one i just installed, i need to get into recovery to install the new rom or my phone wont boot.. How do i get around to delete/rename the .zip?
Use a card reader and a SD card adaptor to delete/rename it with your computer.
Or take the SD card out and try to boot to Hboot, once in Hboot put the SD card back in and then select recovery. You can either just flash your ROM then or use the USB mass storage mode in recovery to delete/rename the file.

[Q] Copy ROM to USB without OS

Hi I need some help to get my phone working again. This is a bit more difficult because the Nexus S doesn't have a removable SD card slot. The OS on my phone is gone, but I still have clockwork recover working. The problem is that I do not have any zip files on the internal SD card to flash a new ROM. Does anyone know how to get a ROM zip file copied over to the Nexus S for flashing? Phone isn't working now :crying:
Copy full ROM images via fastboot from Android SDK

Install Android ADB (found in the SDK package, check Google if you need help to install).
Then, go to Install from sdcard menu once so it mounts the sdcard, then type on your computer:
adb push C:\myfile.bla /sdcard/
Go back and forth in the Install zip from sdcard menu and your file will be there.
Btw install twrp recovery and you won't have that problem because it uses external and internal sd card

[Q] helpppppppppppp meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :(

guys i need help....its urgent...........i was using nexus s with miui rom....since the phone became slow i decided to go back to ics....i copied the new rom(cm9)....then in recovery,i did a factory reset nd format system in mounts and storage.....to my stupidity,i formated card also.....then i realised that i deleted the copied rom during this process......so i selected mount usb storage...then reort came as "ums lunfile not found".....now i cant switch on my phone....says no boot image found....also i cant copy rom as i cant mount usb storage....please help me.....its urgent.........
Suggest you connect to phone with adb and flash clock work mod (fastboot). From there you should be able to mount tab storage and copy a rom back to your sd card. Flash this from recovery and you are back in business.
