guys i need help....its urgent...........i was using nexus s with miui rom....since the phone became slow i decided to go back to ics....i copied the new rom(cm9)....then in recovery,i did a factory reset nd format system in mounts and storage.....to my stupidity,i formated card also.....then i realised that i deleted the copied rom during this process......so i selected mount usb storage...then reort came as "ums lunfile not found".....now i cant switch on my phone....says no boot image found....also i cant copy rom as i cant mount usb storage....please help me.....its urgent.........
Suggest you connect to phone with adb and flash clock work mod (fastboot). From there you should be able to mount tab storage and copy a rom back to your sd card. Flash this from recovery and you are back in business.

Hey guys,
I tried to flash my Eee Pad to official ROM and wiped everything off the tablet and when I tried to flash a ROM from my external SD card, the menu would go into the internal SD card only.
My tablet is stuck on the ASUS logo at the moment and it won't shut off nor will it recognize the external SD card necessary for me to flash a ROM.
What can I do?
In recovery...enable USB mount...plug to CPU...transfer the flashable zip to internal SD...
I'm on ClockworkMod Recovery v.5.5.0.4... I'm not seeing that option anywhere.
It's not under Mounts and Storage? Hmm. I used that recovery for only a minute...so not sure if that option was taken out....
I use Rogue version of the recovery. Its older...but for most of us normal flashers...it works well...it also includes the option to flash from external.
Is there anyway to transfer files from my PC to the tablet?

5.5.0.4 only read from internal sd
Well doesn't matter now since I used nvflash to revert back to stock but I'll keep that mind if there is a next time. Thanks.

So ive been at this for 2 days. I finally got the micro sd card with both files to install rom but in clockworkmod recovery i cant mount sd card nor format or anything. I can mount and unmount in the normal settings of the device and see it in root explorer but thats it. Its formatted to fat32. also on rom manager where it says to install from sdcard it only takes u to the internal sdcard which makes no sense because i was told u cant install a rom from the internal sdcard.
PS. This is my first Android Device!!!!
yeah
I am in the exact same situation. I am rooted on 4.0.3 and I wanted to install 4.0.4 or one of the custom ROM's. This is not my first android device but I am at a loss. I can not enter fastboot, can't load anything from the SD card in CWM recovery (get the message E:Can't mount /sdcard/), can not connect via ADB on my PC.
I feel that I have enough skill to do all of this because I have done it in the past. My ADB works fine with my Galaxy Nexus (just updated that and installed new kernel) so I don't know what is causing the problem. I have tried different SD cards(3) as well and nothing.
The biggest problem is I can not get into fastboot and SBF if I wanted to. I have been having issues with drivers even though I have installed motohelper like 6 million times.
I have tried factory resets and wipes and everything. I tried to do the factory update that is being pushed to me and I get an error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry if this is stealing your thread but I think we are having the same problems.
check out my thread at xoomforums:
I PM'd it to u cus it dont let me put it here
Read all 3 pages. I think it will help u. posted same question there and a guy suggested to install the rogue cwm 1.5 recory via adb fastboot or whatever. he says that will read your sdcards. if i were u id try and fastboot on a different pc cus it looks like thats what we both have to do unfortunately. it looks like a pain!!! u have a xoom?
anyone figured out how to sort this?? really frustrating it just sayin E:can't mount sd card.. any help will be appreciated!!

If you are using CWM recovery from Rom Manager (not recommended for Xoom) it does only read your internal flash memory (called sdcard) but not your external microsd card (called external1???). So you need to flash a different custom recovery using adb/fastboot to flash a recovery.image file or, if you can flash through cwm (from internal sdcard) a recovery.zip file (either EOS or Rogue, depending on the ROM you will flash afterwards), Actually, any custom recovery is supposed to work for any rom, but in reality Eos works best for Eos and Rogue works best for the CM9 Kang.
Please, just remember, never flash a .zip file through fastboot, only an .image file!
+1 i agree with the above, fixed this last night. I download a couple recovery images, which were blank for some reason, so i downloaded the zips and extracted the recovery image folder. Then opened the command window from the folder with the recovery image and flashed it with fastboot. Now it works perfect.

Thanks for saving the last half of my hair which I hadn't pulled out yet.
Got the backup on SD ONLY after flashing the EOS recovery 1.5.0 (i tried the latest to begin with, did not work, made it worse flashing recovery from ROM Mgr)
http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/mot...ing-flashing-unrooting-under-one-roof-59.html has this particular recovery listed.
I still cannot boot in recovery using power+volUP...i have to get at least adb running. Any suggestion would be golden.

This is my first attempt at unlocking and rooting. So far I did manage to get unlocked. Now I am stuck at: Can't mount/sdcard . . . . .
I have been following the thread: [HOW] Rookie Rooting, Flashing And UnRooting Under One Roof
It seems to be layed out quite well and well, I'd never have gotten this far if it weren't for following those directions. I'm not discouraged because I know this is just a stumbling block. I can't wait to kill the bloatware and see if I can O/C this beast just a little.
Good luck to the folks who posted above me. I will post my results here.
Mike P.
I think the solution is much more simple...
The recovery uses normally e: an external sd card , you just trying by d: internal sd card , so take another sd card and dun let it be internal sd card...
And the recovery back on working with you
Sup Guy's! I want to know how to mount SD card via CWM??? I have touch recovery and when I try to mount SD card via recovery it do not mount why!!!
Okay yeah I soft bricked trying to do the one click root for One X on a One S listening to some advice on another thread. So, what I got now is a soft bricked device! Woke up this morning and decided to push root via fastboot, works flawlessly! Now my problem is mounting SD card to PC via CWM because I can't boot up the device. I need to transfer over a custom rom to be able to use my phone again. Is there a RUU T-MOUS???????????????????????????

load up CWM and adb push the rom file you want to send... Google will give you all the help you need to set up adb-
adb push fileyouwant.zip /sdcard
now wait
and wait some more
and there is it on your sdcard flash your rom
+1 ^^^^
Mount USB storage option does not work yet, I hear it should be possible once we have the kernel code from HTC, but until then use the method zylith posted as a temp fix
Case closed! Thank you guys so much! I'm back up and running

Problem
So i was running a slim rom and suddenly my device started rebooting constantly.
What i Tried
Wiping everything (System/Data/Cache/SDCard) booting into recovery and put jellyshot rom zipfiles on the sd card.
What happens now
When i unmount USB and try to flash the new rom, the files (jellyshot rom) aren't on the sdcard. When i mount USB again they also aren't on the card.
I have repeated this constantly and can't make any sense of it.
Is my device "bricked" ?
Thanks in advance.

Basicly whenever i MOUNT USB, delete and add files, the next time i MOUNT USB, the files are back in their original state. Known behaviour?
This is definitely not known behavior. To me it looks like you are getting write permission on the drive once you mount. So it looks to you as if file are getting deleted or files are getting added. But once you unmount/mount again, the changes are not done. It could be a problem with the recovery that you are using. May be try to flash a different recovery in fastboot mode.
Don't you have any other ROM on SD card to flash & boot. If you can boot in to the ROM, then may be you can see if you are able to correctly use SD card and copy a new ROM before you start wiping.
try format your sd from pc

I am able to boot into the rom (with constant errors popping up) and turn on/off usb storage but the effect is the same.
Mount ->Change files ->Unmount -> Mount -> Nothing has changed

No Mobile Network or USB Connection!!!
Hey I am pretty new to rooting but I have a major problem. I recently rooted my Samsung Nexus 4G, flashed clock work mod recovery and installed a version of Jelly Bean I found in on some website. But my problem is that I began to have problems with the version of Jelly Bean I download so I tried to flash back to stock but something went horribly wrong. Now my phone does not have mobile network and when I connect it to a computer, the computer will not recognize it. Bluetooth, WiFi and SD Card still works but I cannot find a way to get my Mobile Network to come back. Please Help!!
I'll install SDK, Odin, put the phone in download mode and flash a factory image. Just saying

Hey! I had a similar problem with my i9023. I couldn't Access my files through the PC after flashing slim beam. I downloaded JellyShot and marmite kernel with my device, without using PC. Then i found those files in sdcard/download, flashed with no problems. Everything seemes to be ok now.

Having problem to intall rom.zip into recovery
Hello everybody,
I was messing up the backup by performing fullwipe, so there are nothing left inside my phone (nandroid, rom.zip)...
I realized above just right after I factory reset it, so long story short, I have no rom.zip to flash.
Then I copied the rom.zip from my pc to the external micro sd, and put it in, cwm recovery can't mount it...
I directly connected the phone to pc using usb cable, pc can't recognize my phone, nor the micro SD.
It's not bricked for sure, just no rom file to flash, and I stuck here, don't know how to make the rom.zip into either internal or external micro SD.
So, I am here to ask you guys for the kindly help.
