After flashing this radio on top of "ATT-SGH-I727-UCMC1-STOCK-deodexed-cwm.zip" ROM, I am only getting 1-2 signal strength on my mobile (T-Mobile n/w). With stock radio I was getting full (5 bar) signal strength. Any thoughts on how to fix it, plz ?

If you were on ucmc1 before and it was working better, re-flash that.

With ucmc1, I was only getting EDGE speed and after applying this radio, I saw 4G icon 1st time on my mobile with 4 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speed but the signal strength is reduced to 1-2 . Any idea where to look ?

I am very sorry, new to forums. I thought asking question on respective radio page would be more logical hence asked here. But as you have answered at my original post, I will do as you have said and report back. Thanks for your time.

Please report , in settings/about phone/status/mobile network type :
What do you see with each , UCMC1 and the other radio from i757m..
I need to find the difference between the 2 radios, and whether the bell radio really unlocks the 1700/2100 AWS band on HSPA+
I can't find the difference here in my location because both radios give me 4G/4G LTE icons and speeds

I did some dedicated 12 hours of research on xda forums, Google and other Anroid forums and finally got it working with right ROM + Radio&Modem. I think ROM is imp to enable/control data settings (2G/3G etc) but not plays really a role in enabling the 3G/4G by default, this role is done by right Radio & Modem. May be you can correct.
I realized that I had to flash each radio two times to make it work correctly. Thus I was confused on UCMC1 vs i757m. First time I flashed UCMC1 only once on top of UVMC6 thus faced reported issue. It seems in background it was working with UVMC6, but when I flashed UCMC1/ i757m two times, I noticed same behavior for both of them, 2G speed but full signal strength, that means in my area (Bentonville) T-mobile is not having LTE on 1700/2100 AWS bands.
After this I got some clue from this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/group.php?do=discuss&group=&discussionid=2268&nocache=1 and when I flashed T879 modem it really worked like a charm. Although I am not getting 4G speed but only 3G/H+ but far far better than EDGE . This is applied to Slimbean 3.1, really loving it now, best in all the ROMS I tried till now.
Hope it helps. I am now researching to find out a modem/radio which can really help me to unlock all the bands, If you do come to know please share.

So , Pradeep , are you using now the galaxy note T879 radio ? Or it's the blaze radio ? Just make sure of the modem exact number..
For more info on the band you're using for data:
Use this dialer code

Band 4 is AWS 1700/2100
Band 2 is PCS 1900 band..

I restored the Mohan's deodexed stock ROM + UVMB1 radio and tried this command and it shows Band 4 to me. Also my few observations are as below,
1. with Stock ROM, T879-UVLG3 radio/modem does not work, I only see No service icon.
2. But it works well with Slim Bean 3.1 (SB) & CM 10.1. However I am only getting speed of 2-3.5 Mbps max download and 1-2 Mbps upload speed. This I get when I enable LTE mode, signal bar toggles between 3G/H+. Getting same speed for epc/fast APN settings.
3. UVMB1 works well on both Stock ROM & Slim Bean 3.1 - get same kind of above speed. I see 4G icon (not 4G LTE) on stock ROM with this but not on SB (only 3G/H+). I noticed little heating issue with UVMB1 but it may due to 4G speed or may be some uncommon hardware (need to confirm this by seeing FCC doc ) between skyrocket & blaze.
4. I also tried T879-UVMA1, it also works great on CM & SB but again not on stock ROM.
Hope it helps.

I wanna thank you for this radio. I was using the stock i757 radio before on my skyrocket, but it had issues. This one seems to work perfectly however. I have lte on T-Mobile with my skyrocket. I'm on official slimbean 3.1.

[Radio]Skyrocket Radio Thread

Here are cwm zips for the radios we have available at this time(that work). These will work for both the AT&T Skyrocket and the Rogers Skyrocket, take your pick I will be updating this thread as new radios become available. Please do not ask for the Japanese SC03DDCMKK3 radio, it does not work properly with our device.
Included in these zips:
mdm.bin
amss.bin
RIL
How To Flash:
Install with clockworkmod like you would any other zip.
I have tested these myself, as well as others on IRC and they have worked fine. I am not responsible if something goes wrong for you.

After much testing, the current selection of radios seem to offer no difference in performance, the major difference is that the Rogers radio is RAT unrestricted vs. RAT restricted AT&T radio, which allows you to type "*#2263#" in the dialer and set the phone to 2g only, 3g only, 4g only, etc.

FIXED IT! Apparently taking out my SIM card and putting it back in fixed it.
I'm running KK1 and can dd a partition if that's what you need. PM me or message me on irondust(lart).
Hey, noob question but whats the point of flashing this radio lol? Does this actually allow you to use the radio that the skyrocket was supposed to come with but doesnt have an app for?
These are the firmware that control the Cellular Radio, DSP (Digital Signal Processor) and various bootloaders, not the FM radio that may or may not be part of our bluetooth chipset
BTW, AT&T 2.3.6 KK1 radio coming up shortly courtesy of lart, I'm just packaging it up now
Thanks for the fast apply, I appreciate it =) I wish we could get the radio to work on the phone if it really is built in
Did anyone take close up photos of our motherboard yet?
There are various FM radio drivers contained in the kernel, but all of them are disabled @ stock config. No idea if the chip is actually present or not, or if it is, if it's physically wired to the headphone jack (FM radio uses headphone cord as antenna generally speaking)
Close up pics of the motherboard would tell us if it's there or not
I just tried out the rogers radio (I am on ATT) and I was getting extremely low data speeds on EDGE, UMTS, and HSPA+ (10kBps) (tried both phone and PTA apns). Making calls worked fine though.
Flashed the radio and am playing around with the bands using 2263, looks like I can force EDGE by selecting GSM (I assume we should select the 850/1900 for AT&T) and can force hspa by selecting the WCDMA)
How would I force it into 3G only mode, (UMTS?)

We are getting official 4.1 (Rogers) Late December. Proof inside.

Why would you care? The same phone. No porting or whatever needed, it's directly flashable. Official Rogers release is better than official AT&T release. You need AT&T junk that any custom ROM removes anyway? I'm sure the ICS stuff will be compatible.
Are you kidding me? AT&T S3s won't get JB until 2028 -_-

It's still gonna be the same crappy TouchWiz filled update we got for ICS. I remember the ICS update - it made the phone worse and it was so laggy. Sure this update might make it a bit faster, but it'll still have TouchWiz and I don't see why anyone would ever go from CM10 to stock 4.1.

The rom doesn't matter What matters is the Source Code! It will help fix cm10 issues like Accessing the sim contacts getting network service mode working and network selection 2g and turning off lte.
This is why I find this important

SUPERLITE may be based on cm10 but its not cm10 and i am also on rogers modem and i need to force network selection for any of the radio options to work have odin back to stock the unlocked and back to cm10 same issue. and teamchopsticks still has everything I listed as bugs. If you have really fixed them maybe you should submit your source code to them to help get a 100% cm10

its 100% based on cm10, built from their sources, my build is just a stripped down version of cm10, the users on my build have not mentioned any of those issues, i just tested it on my phone and i can disable lte by choosing "gsm/wcdma preferred" mode instead of using "lte/gsm/wcdma " mode in the mobile network settings and there is a seperate setting to enable to use 2g only. maybe its the radio you are using, im on rogers modem which is rat unlocked
edit: just reread ur post and seen that u r on rogers modem, then idk, maybe try my rom and see if it does what u want it to do
when i choose 2g only my signal shows as edge.
when im in an lte area if i choose "gsm/wcdma preferred" i get hspa signal "h+"and not 4g, 4g of course is lte for cm10
now if im "not" in an lte area and i choose "gsm/wcdma preferred" i get the 3g symbol, but if i choose "lte/gsm/wcdma " i get hspa "h+" symbol.
edit: using rogers lte apn btw, when "not" in lte area i might get 3g or h+ when having it set to lte

[Q] JB Radios t-mobile / rogers

Good day people
Im a newb when it comes to radios...
i have rooted / unlocked and installed the cyanogen superlite JB Rom
which i love
Now i'm in canada and traveling to the states in about 2 weeks and i have a prepaid sim cad but its not activated
i have traveled to the states before and used the t-mobile pay by the day plan but could never get any better than 2g connectivity because i have the stock rogers radio...
after doing some reading i have learned that i need to flash another radio... i have flashed different roms etc so i know i can do it...
but im unsure of a few things.
is there a radio that is universal? which will give me 4g / lte on rogers and t-mobile so i dont have to flash when i get off the plane?
if not what are some radios that will work with JB and give me 4G connectivity with T-mobile?
also what radio would i want to revert back to stock rogers / att radio?
i know everyone one says try different ones but im in a different country so i would like to have everything ready to go as soon as i land...
Thanks
Rom...
I am not sure about that specific Rom, but I know with the Official Team Chopsticks version - they list UVLE1 as the radio.
I know that some Roms have modified radios/kernels so check with the Rom Dev for which one he recommends as he knows what he has baked into the rom...
If you are really scared about it, download several and have them handy on your SD card and when you get here you can simple try several and see if one yields better connection speeds for you.
As far as reverting for ATT/Rogers I believe UCLI3 is the latest but might not be the best for your area... UCLF6 was our previous radio and I get good results with both..
Just make sure you make a GOOD nandroid backup and try them all....
Good luck!
tmo uses a different frequency than rogers/att, so the tmo compatible radio has to be flashed, to my knowledge noone modified a rogers/att radio to work with tmo's 3g 4g, im not sure they have lte, theres a few threads on which tmo radio works well with the skyrocket, and remember to add the tmo's apn. need ics radios to work with jb roms. read the links below

I am also in Canada, have had great luck using the T-Mobile card, but unfortunately not with getting my speed up. I did try downloading several different radios and flashing them while in the US.
Unfortunately it went from 2g data to no data or reception whatsoever. So I restored to my nandroid backup and continued on with 2g.
Just wondered though, did you say ics radios are compatible with jellybean? I've been wanting to make the jump to jellybean on Rogers, but wasn't sure if I'd lose my Lte speeds. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Only data I can get is HSDPA+. I've set all the APIs up but still mothkng . Has anyone else had this issue or know what can can do to fix it? I've spent all night on Google and can't find squat
Any help is greatly appreciated otherwise I'll attempt to ref lash the Telstra bloated from tomorrow

Basicaly once I have Hongkong firmware and can flash the modem that's all I want to do so the less extra stuff I need to put on it the better

I have now got HK firmware, CMW and Telstra modem running and have 4g again
Big thanks to you both.
Just wanting to confirm ill now have to manuall flash updates from sammmobile as the combo of modem and firmware wont allow OTA's.

If you have a 9305t with telstra you can use either one of the 9305t modems. I haven't done a speed test but for me I am getting a better signal strength with the newer UBALK2 modem then with the DVALI5. I have a 9305t on the telstra network
edit: did a quick speed test and got about 10mb/s quicker download and about 7mb/s slower upload then dvali5. This is in the middle of Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, but I believe speeds will vary with network congestion

UBALK2 modem
Hi there,
Could anyone who's using the UBALK2 modem help me, please? I'd like to know if the UBALK2 modem has support to 3G on 1900MHz frequency. Samsung says the I9305TUBALK2 baseband has support to the following frequencies, but I never trust them
3G HSPA+ 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHZ
4G LTE 800 / 1800 / 2600 MHz
Cheers!

How to get 4G LTE to work with XT925?

Hi,
I just change provider to AT&T using my XT925. I don't see the 4G LTE logo. How do I know it is actually working?

Could someone tell me how to enable LTE in the XT925 on AT&T using stock rom or with any other rom? All I get is H+
Which country did you get your phone from? It may not support the AT&T LTE bands...

It is from Claro PR and the box says it is 4G LTE.
I only get H+ at less than 7 Mbps down and no more than 1mbps up. With my S4 I get between 6 to 22 mbps down and 5 to 12 up.
Any Idea what could be the problem. I'm using the stock ClaroPR firmware posted here and all I get is H+.
Any one there that could help me?

Claro LTE works on 07 band (2600 MHz) and AT&T works on 04 band (1700 MHz).

Yeah there are basically two versions of the GSM LTE RAZR HD - one supports 700 / 1700 / 2100 and I think is only available in Canada, whilst the other version supports 800 / 1800 / 2600, and is available in Lat Am and Europe.
Sounds like you have the second version, which as rafjak says, will not work with either T-Mobile or AT&T LTE
You can't use LTE, it's not compatible.

Just flash a rom with the correct modem. I dont which one has the correct ones for at&t.
Or you can always flash a custom rom.
Sometime ago i was using brazils jellybean when i live in mexico. I just added mexicos modem files to the brazil rom.

I'm a little confused now! So does that mean that the problem could be fixed flashing other modem? If that is correct could some one point out which one should I use to work with At&t 4G LTE?

If the only problem is not having lte then yes.
The modem is flashed since the beggining. So you would need to reflash you rom.
You extract the modem file from what ever rom has the correct file had replace the one youre using. Or simply flash a rom with the correct modem file.
I had the brazil retail rom since it is bloatless from the get go.

Well I can tell that with At&t as provider I get H+ with data.
Can any one confirm if I could get LTE by flashing other modem and what modem should I use?
I just downloaded and tried Rogers Canada Modem and it did not work. All I still get is H+.
I'm using a Fido RAZR HD (original, not reflashed), and it works fine on T-Mobile LTE (same bands at AT&T I think).
Are you sure you have an LTE-capable SIM card? And also your plan includes LTE access? Are you using a direct AT&T plan, and not an MVNO (e.g. Aio).

Yes I'm sure I have LTE card and plan. I understand that T-Mobile Band is completely different from AT&T band... or am I incorrect?
I found this on Wikipedia and it seems that they are not so different. Can someone explain this to me?
Operator Country Frecuency (MHz) Band
AT&T Puerto Rico 700 c 17
AT&T Puerto Rico 1700 d e 4
Claro PR (PRTC) Puerto Rico 700 b 17
T-Mobile PR Puerto Rico 1700 f 4
So, I have LTE that only works on AT&T frequencies... I need it to work on the Europe frequencies 800/1800/2600. Is there a way I can change the modem files without reflashing? I got root, but locked bootloader... :s
I have the same issue. I have phone from Claro PR but I am from Europe. The LTE does not working due to wrong frequency.
Should I upload a new modem driver ? or should I flash my phone ? What is less harmful for my phone
My phone is rooted and I have unlocked bootloader.
