CHANGE LOG:
About The New Builds:
As of now I will be building the new updates with the 3.4 kernel. This means you will need to have the latest htc jellybean firmware on your phone. Please head to this thread if you need to upgrade do not cluter the thread with ruu or update questions. If you are not upgraded you will get a bootloop and will not be able to boot the newer roms. For those of you not willing to upgrade the older builds are in the second post. Be warned i have no plans to revert back to the old kernel.

Here you mean these are not bugs in the ROM but this ROM fixes them, right? Does it use your latest Kernel? :good:

Awesome!!
Does this support other languages than english? All I really care about is a keyboard with åäö, but spellchecking with my language is a plus. This looks like a ROM I must give a go...
Installed, up and running. been using for a couple of hours with only 1 big issue.
The AOSP keyboard swiping doesn't work. If I tap the word gets typed. If I swipe it does nothing..and Yes I do have the option checked.

Thanks droyd for continuing another one of the more popular roms out there for android. Can't believe this rom isn't making any sound for this device. But my guess is that you'll change that

@zaak00 The rom is multilanguage so i think there is spellchecking for your language.
Just installed, i'm setting all my stuff and then testing! i think i've switched on all the rom in this forum, hope to stick for a couple of week with this

After giving some time to suddenly closing this thread out, I decided that it was unfair to my self and also unfair the the AOKPCB Broccoli users. I closed the thread out without thinking things through and should have just kept it on hold and left the download links up for all to enjoy if they wanted. With all this being said... I have decided to reopen this. As of right now, the download links are from my previous builds... But... I will be posting a new build.. Shortly.

Team Kang created AOKP... Not Nun. . This is the updated build 37.. Which includes fixes/updates and Team Broccoli works off of latest aokp builds and add their own flavor. So in short to answer your question.. Any AOKP based ROM you download is going to have a similar layout..

Thanks for picking this up Scott! We'll be doing our best to keep AOKPCB clean and feature-packed as always.
Would also love to have you maintain the Infuse 4G for us. Hit me up via PM, or find me in our IRC chan, #AOKPCB on freenode (or link to it on our PCB Mini-Site). If I'm not around (it's my b-day today ), just find remicks, he's our build master and also a great dood.
Cheers and SUPER happy that our work is getting positive feedback!

Still working out details... But one thing is for sure.. You are going to want to keep a close eye on this thread.. Your def going to want to be a part of these builds they release.

What is King Kang?King Kang is essentially a hybrid ROM - its a mixture of AOKP, CyanogenMod, and ParanoidAndroid, bringing all their customizations to one rock solid and quick ROM. These numerous features combine to create a blend of features not seen anywhere else before. Make the user interface yours with this ROM. Change the DPI the ROM runs at, tweak the interface to your hearts content, while enjoying great battery life and stability. Never before have these features combined to create a ROM as feature-packed as King Kang. Credits for the features goes directly to the teams responsible - AOKP and CM for their respective work, and ParanoidAndroid for their wonderful DPI on-the-fly modifications. Without these teams, this ROM would not be possible.

Information
Some AOKP features power over the ParanoidAndroid ones. For example, in order to get Tablet UI, you first need to check the "Tablet UI" option in ROM Control, then change it to the desired mode in Paranoid Android, and then reboot.
This ROM began as a creation by DAGr8 for Android 4.0, ICS. It offered a simple AOKP + PA combination.
The ROM is currently being built 100% from source. The "team", a.k.a. people maintaining and adding features from other ROMs is currently myself and DAGr8. Without the other teams though, this ROM would be nothing.

This looks awesome, I will be using this, I love all of AOKPs features and now with PA's per-app DPI built in also and some great stuff from CM. I just wish I could use your kernel, will there be an update to that soon? I am on of the people that is experiencing constant reboots after flashing Build 3 of your kernel Build 2 worked though. CWM has been known to randomly wipe our devices /sdcard partition. If you haven't had any issues with it though and you want to keep using it, thats fine. Just be aware that it may happen.

To keep myself from getting bored, I have found this build and decided it would be perfect to pass along to you guys. It is a combination of the three most popular jellybean builds... all combined into one. ParanoidAndroid + AOKP + CM = PAC. Links will be up shortly. Special thanks to all the teams involved in these jellybean builds and also szl.kiev for sources of PAC rom. Also want to give a thanks to Th3bill for suggesting this build to me.

P A C ALL IN 1
Description
The struggle to find the rom you need is over. Some people like CyanogenMod 10, Some prefer AOKP, Some like the advantages of Paranoid Android
To cure your rom hunt we have come up with the P A C man Rom.
PACman is a unique rom.
We have picked the best features from CM10, Aokp and PA and combined them in a single rom so you get the experience you deserve
To enjoy the features of every available project without the hassle of flashing regularly.
The Rom is rock stable for an average user but keep in mind the Rom is in WIP stage so expect some minor hickups but we are trying our best to resolve these issues

*** Please Read!! Important News: **** FYI... as per Dman i am uploading a new PAC build with the paranoidpreferences.apk removed from it. the PA people have asked that their closed source app not be used in any other builds except their own. They have also asked not to link anything or put up a link for just their paranoidpreferences.apk. This build will work with or without the pa preferences with no issues, so if you want to add them or leave them out, thats up to you. Now... What i can tell you is what you need to do in order to get back the paranoid preferences from the settings menu. You would need to download the specific PA version that is needed for this build. In this case, i believe 2.54 and higher will work the same and download it for the i9100. You can find a link to download by doing a general xda search. Once you download it, simply navigate to /system/app/ and find the file name 'ParanoidPreferences.apk' and drag it into the PAC build's /system/app/ location. Thats all you need to do. Once you do that, just simply boot up and your good to go. If you are not able to handle that, do not post asking for help or any additional assistance. Please keep this thread clean.
I have compiled this rom from sources
I'm doing this as my hobby so no eta or spamming or hating post , If you like rom you can enjoy otherwise stay away from thread

OK... build is up... remember this is something i whiped up quickly... if something is missing, please let me know. Download PAC Here - Install the 4.1.2 GAPPs from HERE
Please keep in mind since this is the first crack, chances are something is not working or missing... Please report it once and then ONE person confirm... do not need 100000 confirmations. So far ive noticed two minor things. The aokp flashlight torch does not work - Not a big deal because the torch app does and so does the cm torch toggle... so just dont try to use the aokp torch toggle and were good . If you have the weather lockscreen enabled, when you turn the screen on, it can delay for a second or two... Im assuming this is caused by the weather feature updating information and not much can be done about it. Other then that... the usual JB issues... Timezone is incorrect for some and 720p is shaky.
Kept looking back at the xda app for the download link. Downloading now

Scot you continue to amaze! I'm glad that you're enjoying yourself, as i'm pretty sure that's one of the main points of life. I love this ROM, but I wish it had a dash of MIUI theming (alas, it's not for everyone's tastes).

Also, sorry for the non-developmental post, but I needed to say that :silly:

Niceeeee. Illusion ROM is so sick!
Coooooooooooooool something new, What about modem and kernel? Does it use EPIC modem and is kernel built in? I see that uses Slim gapps, so just get the whatever is latest? Standard all clean install? or coming from Slim I can do dirty install? I am asking as I am on nexus modem with slim 6.
What version is this? 4.2.2 or 4.3?

Tried this ROM. Thanks. Still definitely beta. I reverted back to domination. Issues I saw were no haptic feedback, soft keyboard stays on screen when hw keyboard is used, halo not fully functional. Will try again when some of the bugs are worked out. Thanks.

Have not tested Halo, but haptic feedback is most definitely working for me, & the soft/HW keyboard switching as well. Perhaps a bad download?
Thanks. Maybe I'll give it another go!
Edit. Tried redownloading and clean install. Same results. Oh well.

I was coming from touchwiz rom. I wiped all partitions and flashed illusion and slim gapps. It got stuck on samsung boot. I had to restore my backup cause I couldn't get it to boot. Does this have a kernel? Do I have to flash a jelly bean kernel to get it to boot?

I had the same issue when flashing this rom yesterday. I ended up trying to flash 4 times from a fresh odin flash each time. So 4 rom flashes and 5 odin flashes later and I am on Domination. I got tired of trying, lol. It wasn't a bad download as I compared MD5's, so ... yea.
It looks like it maybe wasn't converting from BML to MTD, and wasn't dropping in a MTD recovery. I may be incorrect there, but I got tired of it all and wanted a working device again.

Then why not flash another MTD ROM (CM10/10.1) prior to this? Doesn't hurt.

I had cleaned my SD card prior and only had a few files on it. It was what it was.

Alright folks, here's another update... 4.3 is officially merged!! I just did the last part of it and caught with CyanogenMod as far as frameworks goes.
Reference here to see what I'm talking about: IllusionProject Frameworks/base
Of course there's loads of things to iron out, but the overwhelming part of merging 4.3 is now behind us!
I'm still not going to promise an ETA, but I will be doing what I can to get everything functioning the way it needs to be. Thanks peeps for remaining patient through a busy part of my life recently. There's quite a bit in store for 2.5. I may even release a alpha version of 2.5 so you guys can get your hands on a 4.3 build with all the cool nifty features and such :victory:.

No go on cm11 5/9. Boots but crashed system ui nonstop. Didn't expect it to work on cm11 but thought I would give it a shot. Regardless thanks for an aosp kernel!

Funny, my phone has issues galore trying to boot with the Sense version of this kernel, but I am running the AOSP version on the latest M8 SlimKat release and everything seems to be just fine.
In upcoming releases would it be possible to incorporate Faux123 Sound files?
Edit: The kernel works just fine aside from the fact that it breaks WiFi.
Any updates on the Cyanogenmod version? Would love the same basic set of features as the Sense kernel. Swipe to wake would be amazing :]

Pretty much everything AOSP is universal for the M8 from what I've seen. Go check the non carrier specific M8 section for other kernels too

While this would be true if everyone used the same code base, they don't. Hence why my post on the first page of comments asking about a Cyanogenmod version (as the one posted here does not work with Cyanogenmod). He said he was working on a version that should support Cyanogenmod but then never posted it here. I was just looking for a status update.
I meant that the AOSP builds/kernels have been including all variants so looking in the other section could find you what you are looking for. I'm currently just pulling an apk from task650s AOKP that allows screen off gestures. There is a kernel that works with cm but I didn't have as good battery life as the stock cm kernel for me so far and haven't played with it much yet. Maybe looking into some other kernels would also help with this one.
