No go on cm11 5/9. Boots but crashed system ui nonstop. Didn't expect it to work on cm11 but thought I would give it a shot. Regardless thanks for an aosp kernel!

Funny, my phone has issues galore trying to boot with the Sense version of this kernel, but I am running the AOSP version on the latest M8 SlimKat release and everything seems to be just fine.
In upcoming releases would it be possible to incorporate Faux123 Sound files?
Edit: The kernel works just fine aside from the fact that it breaks WiFi.

Any updates on the Cyanogenmod version? Would love the same basic set of features as the Sense kernel. Swipe to wake would be amazing :]

Pretty much everything AOSP is universal for the M8 from what I've seen. Go check the non carrier specific M8 section for other kernels too

While this would be true if everyone used the same code base, they don't. Hence why my post on the first page of comments asking about a Cyanogenmod version (as the one posted here does not work with Cyanogenmod). He said he was working on a version that should support Cyanogenmod but then never posted it here. I was just looking for a status update.

I meant that the AOSP builds/kernels have been including all variants so looking in the other section could find you what you are looking for. I'm currently just pulling an apk from task650s AOKP that allows screen off gestures. There is a kernel that works with cm but I didn't have as good battery life as the stock cm kernel for me so far and haven't played with it much yet. Maybe looking into some other kernels would also help with this one.

Currently, it's bare source-compiled AOSP with root. I'll be adding more as we go.
Cool, thanks man.
Thanks

Can you tell us what you're thinking of adding?
It always sucks settling on a ROM which then becomes bloated/themed in a future update.

Well currently, it's stock rooted AOSP, as you can tell. I've been thinking about what to do with this ROM, and depending on user preference and if people prefer the stock experience or not, I'll either add more to this or maintain a stock AOSP build and make another ROM with more features.
The point I'm trying to make is, speak up! Let me know what you do and don't like, and I'll take it into consideration.
Right now, I'll probably be adding a couple more things to enhance the experience, like a extended power menu with recovery and boot loader reboot options. Let me know what you think!

Thanks. I like it this way, it's nice to have one that's just compiled from source with root. Good job :good:
I'd want user init.d support without any tweaks and let people choose what they want, I love light, clean ROMs like this good job

Running smoothly on m-kernel. Battery life is most important in my book, stock has always given me that so thanks for this. I think it would benefit from minor tweaks, ie WiFi single click toggle in quick settings, expanded reboot menu and init.d support, but I like it minimal.

Does this support other languages than english? All I really care about is a keyboard with åäö, but spellchecking with my language is a plus. This looks like a ROM I must give a go...

The AOSP keyboard swiping doesn't work. If I tap the word gets typed. If I swipe it does nothing..and Yes I do have the option checked.

I'm still supporting the Rezound! I may start carrying the verizon HTC One m8 as well with Vanir and Commotio builds, but that remains to be seen, I'm talking with the lead devs on that.
I for one am happy to have a kernel that will go with my Dr. Who sound themes
As soon as there is a stable platform I'll be all over this. Thank you so much for developing for this device!
I updated it to 1.0.1 and the io schedulers are now included! Also pulled in recent changes to the kernel source.
Any interest in a private Vanir build?

Sent from my One M8 using Tapatalk
I have to upload one to some place. I have a lot of private builds of Vanir all not using their standard kernel. It is a bit of a love hate relationship. As I love the Vanir ROM but have had the worst experiences with the default kernel as multiple reboots during the day and horrid to non-working GPS. And I have only had positive experiences with Vanir with kernels that aren't the default, one of the best has been the cm11 kernel, TARDIS kernel and Furnace kernel. If you really want a special build, then PM me.

I am working on getting the core of the kernel updated to 3.4.104 before I will make an official release.

PLAYFUL PITAYA
This week, PA team members have worked overtime to unravel the previously encountered DSB issues.
The product is back to the usual stability, with a bunch of tweaks all around, but still deserving the beta tag.
Most of the work was put into hardening DSB, but an additional configuration option was also added
as an experiment mainly for those interested in increased speed.
This is more of a "power user" setting as it can have an influence on the battery life
- you have been warned - and is not guaranteed to stay around for later releases.
To mess around with the setting, just run adb shell su -c 'settings put system experimentaldsbfrequency 2'
on your computer, replacing the 2 with any other number of choice.
If you find frequencies that seem to work fine for you and still provide solid battery life, feel free to share them.
Quick pointers for the setting:
-The default value for a newly set up device is 2.
-Lower numbers mean slower, higher numbers mean faster.
-You probably don't want to go into negative numbers. It's the ones that are lower than 0.
-The counter caps out at 20. That is CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL.
-Going above the maximum of 20 is not going to change anything... Trust us... Just don't try it at home.
The change log:
-Provide a better flow for bar transitions and DSB
-Add the experimentaldsbfrequency setting (for now)
-Include a pair of themeability changes

I posted this on the other thread but might as well post it here too:
On Alpha 2, after the full wipe and initial setup, "Ok Google" hotword detection works but after I do a reboot it doesn't work. I'm using the PA GAPPS 25/7 and Google Now launcher with XGELS, so Xposed is installed if that helps. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Not yet will make sure to. But I'm not gonna do it yet, my phone recently went in for repairs so my mic(s) may be all messed up. So I'm gonna make a few calls, and one may end up being to the repair guy
Thanks though.

I've moved this out of Original Development.
There is already an Official PA ROM in there.
thanks, it looks great
Anybody still experiencing the skipping audio still? This guy supposedly has a fix. Can @v7znay build a test with this?

you found my G+
Yeah, I know @SuperHanss and he built me a 4.4 m7 build with the fix yesterday, will try today and report back to you guys
How's the battery on this? I am really looking for AOSP roms with good battery life. The current rom I'm using which is Aosp is not so good, battery wise.

hahaha I forgot to tell him to build it on 4.5 Alpha 2 but if it works, he'll tell the normal person who builds aospa m7 to include in future updates
Just a heads up people, if using the Alpha2 version with pa_gapps_stock-4.4.4- 20140725 you may need to reboot to update/install off the Play Store
My progress bar wasn't moving for the Play Games update when it came to the "installing" bit (just hung there for 15minutes) and when downloading something else off the store it just hung at "downloading"...Nothing in the notification tray or anything. Just wouldn't start the download
Just thought I'd mention it incase anyone has the same issue so OP doesn't get hassled for a "fix"

Will it work on other AOSP roms? I will build a AOSPAL ROM and would like to use it.
