What is King Kang?King Kang is essentially a hybrid ROM - its a mixture of AOKP, CyanogenMod, and ParanoidAndroid, bringing all their customizations to one rock solid and quick ROM. These numerous features combine to create a blend of features not seen anywhere else before. Make the user interface yours with this ROM. Change the DPI the ROM runs at, tweak the interface to your hearts content, while enjoying great battery life and stability. Never before have these features combined to create a ROM as feature-packed as King Kang. Credits for the features goes directly to the teams responsible - AOKP and CM for their respective work, and ParanoidAndroid for their wonderful DPI on-the-fly modifications. Without these teams, this ROM would not be possible.

Information
Some AOKP features power over the ParanoidAndroid ones. For example, in order to get Tablet UI, you first need to check the "Tablet UI" option in ROM Control, then change it to the desired mode in Paranoid Android, and then reboot.
This ROM began as a creation by DAGr8 for Android 4.0, ICS. It offered a simple AOKP + PA combination.
The ROM is currently being built 100% from source. The "team", a.k.a. people maintaining and adding features from other ROMs is currently myself and DAGr8. Without the other teams though, this ROM would be nothing.

No problem! While we're waiting: Does this include the stock kernel? Have you tested it with your build 3?
Thanks again!
EDIT: Your paypal button is broken

is there any reason you recommend TWRP over CWM? i have cwm and would prefer not to mess with flashing to twrp if i didn't have to. thanks!

This looks awesome, I will be using this, I love all of AOKPs features and now with PA's per-app DPI built in also and some great stuff from CM. I just wish I could use your kernel, will there be an update to that soon? I am on of the people that is experiencing constant reboots after flashing Build 3 of your kernel Build 2 worked though. Build 2 is very out dated though.

Download will appear here when done uploading:

It includes the stock kernel, and I have not yet tested it with my kernel (though I think it is safe to assume it should work fine)

CWM has been known to randomly wipe our devices /sdcard partition. If you haven't had any issues with it though and you want to keep using it, thats fine. Just be aware that it may happen.

Should be one soon, as soon as I fix that bug for some of you. I may have to revert to stock voltage values since I believe that the undervolting is the cause behind it.

SalvageMod is a AOSP project developed by myself, Barnacles10, and echoside.
This software is built from the Android open source project 2.3.5 branch.
We are offering 1.4 both odex and deodex. Keep in mind, most themers theme deodex ROMs.
Make sure to choose what the google add-on that corresponds with your ROM choice.

Its aosp. They all work.
Downloading now.
I achieved a Quadrant score of 1460 with the last build. I'll report back after flash and restore.
Great job man. I'm just curious. Did you odex post-build or did you compile Rom with an odex option? Ive been playing with Rom building for some time now and have only messed with sense. I managed to build a stock aosp Rom the other day but would like to learn more about aosp building. Feel free to pm because I feel this post is off-topic. Thanks man.
Now that I have root again I might have to give this a go (would be first aosp Rom).

will there be any updates to the kernal? I'm not sure if HTC releasing source code changes anything...
Also does this rom still have the problem with the sensors that plagued the cm and deck roms?
Hmmm... No Go. After several attempts installing the fedex version; I restored V1.3. I was never able to boot past the htc EVO 4G screen.

Being an AOSP ROM, these do not rely on the HTC kernel code release. There are any of several fine kernels to choose from, so its virtually always possible to find one that your phone likes.
Regarding the 'problem with the sensors', can you elaborate on that? I've used a couple versions of the Evo-deck ROM and have yet to experience any issue.
I look forward to trying this ROM! For some reason, I couldn't get the 1.3 to run on my phone, but that could have been a bad download or similar issue. I was just too busy at that time. But I read so much good about the SalvageMod...I gotta give it a go!
Thank you for your time.
P.S: Thank you for offering the community both odex and deodex versions! I love themes, but the odex ROMs run way quicker on my phone.
Looks good I'll give it a try later.
Thanks lit.

well it got in a bootloop. Was worth a try though, reformatted SD and got it back to normal. Great rom
I noticed there was a 1.4 deodexed Gapps package, but I didn't see one for 1.4 odexed.
I am assuming to use the odexed gapps that were already posted, but wanted to double check.

Ah, I did run into this problem occasionally. I also found that when I would press the power button to wake the phone up when asleep I had to hold the power button down for a few seconds or it wouldn't wake up. I was using the SZ 2.2.1 kernel at the time, and later found that I experienced these things when using the smartass or SavageZen governors. I switched to InteractiveX and didn't experience them any more.
Thank you for your time.
Dang, lithid, I was just about to flash & test your kernel with the Synergy RLS-1 rom and then I saw this: Salvage-Mod 1.4....I was like, "WHAT!" ...Oh well, your new kernel can wait...hahaha.......flashing the latest Salvage-Mod cannot wait. Thank you.

--Wireless tethering isn't an option
--I'm sure you guys will find the rest.
Screenies
Build 39
AOKP Changes
added ability to change host name (settings > dev > device hostname)
added ad-hoc network support
added adb over network
added AOKP stats (you can opt out, Settings > About > AOKP Statistics) www.stats.aokp.co
added bluewall firewall - RC > General UI > Less Notification Sounds
limits the number of notification sounds an app can play per X seconds
so like 1 GTalk ping/30s, but notifications will still be coming in
added "Device options" link in Settings for devices that have an app to tweak device-specific settings
right now I believe only tuna/aries/p1c have these, all credit goes to CM trees where these apps came from
improved weather code, shouldn't bother you everytime it updates weather now
added "copy to clipboard" option in "Share" dialogs throughout ANdroid
added ability to toggle to "new" and "original" music controls on the lockscreen
as always, tons of other device-specific and internal changes, find them all at http://gerrit.sudose...atus:merged,n,z
devices changes
p5: removed OTA assert, shouldn't be any more problems flashing
tuna: fixed vold.fstab file not being added properly, which led to MTP issues, core FCs
tuna: looks like the CM9 kernel was included with this build by mistake (due to the buildbot using inline kernels and some misc testing). It doesn't affect anything, just letting you guys know we know! Enjoy their code
added showcasemtd & mesmerizemtd
ville: YOU MUST WIPE!
misc other device changes -- ask your device maintainer
credit note: we try and preserve all proper authorship on git commits and the like, if you want to know who wrote a feature or where we got it from, check out git or gerrit and just browse through the commits!
Personal Changes
DSPManager still out. I'll try my best to get
Setting up GooManager on Nightlies, and RomKeeper on stables.
Kernel update to latest by mantera
Many other small updates that you can see here
Instructions on updating to newest version via RomKeeper
Go into the app
Look for a new update if there is one
Click on that version
Check out the info
Press menu>fetch
It will download the ROM (Or .delta)
Wait until it says 100%
Press menu>Install
It will boot into recovery and install it for you and reboot into system. Just like that.
For those who are wondering, I will not be updating the AndroidForums thread anymore. This and the one on VMRoms.com are my main threads that will be updated.

Sorry, haven't read that thread yet. But awesome, this is my favorite ROM currently. ^_^
I can't wait till you guys get Camera working, then I'm gonna use this on my friend's Triumph as his DD (currently using Cm7 G60 style final ). I use AOKP on my GNex and it's the greatest ROM evar IMHO. A lot of those AOKP guys were from the Fascinate kangbang and pool party roms and they were my favorite prior's
Awesome, glad to see this being continued, really like this rom can't wait till I can use it as a daily rom, running cm7 g60 final.mobster tweaked, also a [email protected] rom thanks for the work y'all do

Maybe its just me but do anybody else have to activate their phone after flashing AOKP Bulid 39? I flashed back to CM9 and I'm no need to I just though I'll point it out.

There are many great ROMs out there, with the more popular ones being AOSPA (ParanoidAndroid), CM10.1, and AOKP. Being all great ROMs, it is sometimes difficult to choose which one you want to run. Why choose when you can have all three? P.A.C.-Man ROM is combination of all three ROMs, so you don't need to keep switching or deciding between which one to flash. Get all of the features in one ROM! The sources are here.. Enjoy

FAQ
FAQRead ALL of this before posting in this thread! Thanks.
Q: I don't use the on-screen softkeys. How do I remove the navigation bar?
A: Go into Hybrid Properties --> Interface, under Workspace drag the slider for "Navigation Bar Size" to 0%.
Q: How do I disable the dual-pane layout that is preset in some apps (Settings, Gmail, etc.)?
A:Go into Hybrid Properties --> Apps and choose the app that you want to change. In the top right hand corner, click "Reset" and it will change the DPI and the layout of that app to the Workspace default that you have set.
Q: Some ROM Control options do not work?
A: ROM Control is still a WIP as of right now. The frameworks part of ROM Control has yet to be merged, so that's why some settings are blank. Please give some time, and it will be fixed in the near future.

Do you happen to have any screen shots? I thanks

No, I don't, as I don't own a One S anymore. I am basically blind developing, but I am pretty sure that this will work fine. If users report any issues, I will fix them immediately.
I am downloading right now. I have the same problem! I can never decide between so many awesome roms.

I just built and flashed this on my s3 and realized that there are no paranoid android settings. I will upload a fix tomorrow. But for now, please take the paranoidpreferences.apk from the paranoid ROM and install it. Thanks.

I tried to install like a normal apk and it didn't work (didn't think it would)
so I moved it to /system/app and it still doesn't do anything.
also... this is kinda me being obsessive/ocd.... but on the boot animation the background for the pacman/ghost is not completely black... you can see the square around the picture, like I said, not a big deal, just me being obsessive.
On the positive side...
rom is QUICK! lightening fast man!
of course, way to early to tell how the battery life will be.
one thing I would really like to see is the CM10 circle battery with percentage, the one that rotates when charging, that is just slick.
I was wondering about the lack of PA settings. Now I know!
Great job on this ROM. It is super fast. And I love the loads of settings!
Klin my master port it to S3 please. All of S3 community is waiting for non-sense ROM.

Hey Klin,
I´m wondering if you are sleeping at some time...?!
How can one single person develop so many different ROMs (And what is even more import so many GREAT WORKING ROMs..:?!?!?!)
You do so much for us, even though you don´t ow the HOS anymore... Your work is so much appreciated!
Thanks again and again and again...
I might copy this Post to my clipboard as I think it wont take long until I post it in some other thread again
Wish you all the best and thanks again! Will give this one a whirl rigth now
Btw, don´t forget to get some sleep... :good:
EDIT: Maybe you could add a little of you unofficial Baked ROM as well... Have not booted this PACman one yet, but your Baked rom has been my most favourite one since you first release

[4.2.2][P511x] Unofficial Carbon Rom. 8 august 2013

Unofficial Carbon Rom Built by Sevenup30 & Tuxafgmur
What is Carbon rom ?
dg4prez said:
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. The team is composed of former members of Team Liquid who have forked the code in an attempt to bring greater speed, better coding, and full authorship to code. We are in no way affiliated with Liquid0624. The rom was forked at Liquid beta 3.2.1 and has since undergone major code changes and modifications. Please note that on some devices the kernel is not yet linaro compiled.
We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

Our next goal is to put together a build machine, and we need your help. Why do we need a server? Well, a few reasons. The first is the most obvious - we'd like to build more frequently and need the hardware to support it. That means drive space and speed. The more of each we have, the more we can say "hey let's crank out a build," and throw it up on goo so you see an update in goomanager. Right now, building is a pretty intensive all-day process. The second reason is stability. Building from a development machine means that the environment itself is less stable. This translates into, again, fewer builds and more work to make them. Faster building means we can build for more devices, too. All this free time means we can do more cool stuff. We've got a lot of great ideas coming, and every bit of time we can get to work on them means a better rom for you. If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

in settings, you toggle on Dark Carbon, and your rom is inverted (themed black), not full yet but almost. and if you toggle off, your rom is back as normal without reboot.

It do not include gapps. You have to flash it after the rom, that s why it s only 133mb.
Did you full wipe before flashing ??

As a temporary solution, please download and install DhollmenCM kernel directly. In this way no problems.
P.S. This rom will be great among the great. :good:

Lovely so see it building and working now for you
I was a little scared if some of the files were missing when I zipped them up earlier.
Ahh now its time for me to be a "regular" user and download and flash away when there are updates instead of compiling a new release and flashing it on my N7
Edit: Works perfectly

hi!
I'm downloading this ROM and I'm trying it.. I always read positive comments about rasbeanjelly and I really hope I'll like it..
just a question, please: what about battery? And - it's not an ETA request - will you go on with this project?
thanks a lot, see ya!!

Thank you for bringing this to Tilapia. It's a clean and very stable rom. I like it very much. As for battery life a can't say much because I changed two Kernels and I didn't get a full battery cycle yet. It's like 10%/hour screen on (browsing and reading). Idle battery drain is 0 until now
I will post some screenshots soon as I'll have I full battery cycle.

I just flashed the ROM and I'm actually trying it.. first things I noticed is tat till now rasbeanjelly is the only custom ROM which has the mobile tile working!!
another question, if you please: I don't know original rasbeanjelly ROM, so I'm wondering if it will always be so essential or there are still some options missing..
thanks a lot!!
Was dubious about installing this as not many comments but as op is well known I gave it a try out. Good as any other roms I have used tho this is my first on the Nexus 7. Battery life is very good. Still on stock Kernel. Keep up the good work.

It'll always be essential. As rascarlo likes to keep things slim. Not too much... Not too little, just enough I always think.

Is vanilla rasbean similar to Rootbox with many customization options? If yes, I am very interested. Running rootbox on my Note 2 LTE and love it but there is no tilapia version.
Using your released ROM now and so far so good. I`m downloading new update now. Thanks.
