Not rumors,it is official by Samsung that tab 2 will get 4.2.2 .....
All deviced launched in 2012 (and some from 2011, as Galaxy SII) with dual-core processor will receive 4.2.2...

I already asked in another thread, but I will ask again... Can you please refer me to the official statement by Samsung about 4.2.2 update for particular devices? Not by SamMobile, not by some gadget review site, but actually by Samsung? All links I can find so far refer to "insider leaks", mostly the one posted by SamMobile back in March. Some sources say Sammy will update a list of specific devices, and some say that all dual-cores will get an update. You can trust those sources as much as you want, but this info is just a rumour at this point.
If you can give the link to the actual Samsung's announcement, I will thank you, and publicly apologize for being unable to use Internet search...

Samsung only gave one official pronouncements about Android updates (Denying that Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab were able to get oficial ICS), all information is given by people who work inside Samsung that send information to sites like SamMobile.
SamMobile is a very reliable source, that was posted all devices with processors will be updated, but it is clear that some will be left out.
The Galaxy Tab 2 series was launched in 2012 with the Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note 10.1, I mean it's still a new device and it still has the attention of Samsung.

No, that's not what I meant... Hell, I DO want to believe it, I trust SamMobile (within reason), and I sure hope these reports are true. Even though I am still quite skeptical, I will be the first to admit I was wrong, when (or if?) 4.2.2 rolls out to S2 and Tab 2, both of which I own. Just please, don't call it "official", unless it comes straight from the horse's mouth. It's misleading.

so i can say that IF the galaxy tab 2 were to receive 4.2.2 it will be somewhere around december

if samsung has not decleared it officially even though everybody know unofficially by default that samsung will never give us ICS. Never mind still I am happy with 2.3.6 version & waiting for 2.3.7 version...!
this is not official by samsung.this list only includes the devices which has been confirmed for the update and devices which doesn't have any confirmation are stated as will not get ICS.we CAN get confirmation in future but chances for that are very less.

Very little hope of that too. He's got no time for the i9003 and its just lying around somewhere in his house. This phone is one of those unfortunate ones that no one seems to care about or even remember. ROM Manager still doesn't recognize it, most forums don't even acknowledge its existence and Samsung doesn't give two rats about it.
You either have to live with GB, wait for someone to port CM9 (unlikely) or maybe IF Samsung decide to throw a 4.0.x update at it later or just move on to another device that is actually popular and supported by the larger dev community.
I personally got frustrated and went for the Galaxy Nexus but I still have my i9003 and care about it. Its a pretty good device but one of the least supported. The Optimus Black, Droid X and other similar phones have plenty support. Even the super cheap low-end LG, HTC and Samsung phones have more support than the i9003. Its just a mystery why! Samsung just didn't release this device in enough countries.

Pretty sad considering that the original GS and its US variants are basically the Nexus S which already has the update.
At least they left the device running nicely on Gingerbread (even if you need to use ODIN to upgrade depending on your region)
Petition.
If you guys still are in hope of ICS for the i9003, go HERE and sign the petition.
Remember to add the optional message and mention the i9003.
Keep it civil though.
So sammy doesn't seem to honor the 18 months update schedule? Original i9000 was released long ago and i9003 deserves ICS according to the plan...
its not official
i9003 has not completed the 12months support period thats y samsung has to rlease it otherwise we can always ask samsung to xchange our phonz with GALAXY SII
Is that possible .... can we demand such a way?

I didn't know abt the 12 or 18 month support thing... Where is this mentioned??
Can somebody guide with a Internet link or whatever so that I can check..
If that's viable then we don't have to start a petition or anything., instead complaint to our respective Consumer Support Forums.. (no disrespect, but petitions are crap which'll never work)
Samsung threw us(
the industry won't let this happen... new phones will get ics officialy, older phones just will get it modded... always works in that way.
Has samsung released when they are planning on releasing the ICS update for the wifi version? Or is it possible to make an ICS rom for p6210 from what they have released?
Best to wait for an official release. From what I've seen, there is a lot of bugginess in the current CM9 builds. It can't be too far off now.

There has not been any specific date announced for Samsung's US 6210 release. Apparently at least one UK user has it already.
CM9 is really close. WIFI should be working now.
Samsung US is the slowest of the slow
It always takes Samsung US the longest to release updates. They are horrifically slow so just hang in there. A concept Samsung (overall) has never grasped is that these user forums do not differentiate between the the different country models when they create a forum for a device (which the forums shouldn't have to do anyway). The problem that Samsung seems oblivious to is that if you perform upgrades to the devices for Asian countries but neglect to do so for Europe or the United States in any type of timely matter, it just creates very ill will on the parts of the world that they seem to be ignoring. It becomes a case of the "have's" and the "have not's". Unfortunately the upper management at Samsung are "have not's" when it comes to brains and I doubt they will ever figure out that they give the appearance of screwing over some of their customers. This is not to say that the P6210 will not get its upgrade. I am sure it will. You just have to wait for the incredibly slow and somewhat brain dead people at Samsung. Isn't their company motto...."We love your money, we could just care-a-less about you?

We have not even got Jelly Bean for the 6810 yet. Samsung are hopeless.

The 4.1.2 they released for the 6800 caused a number of issues, and seemed rushed out the door.
With the recent upgrades to 4.2.2 (Tab 2 7) , and the fact that Samsung already mentioned that dual-core based system will end with 4.2.2, I'm hoping that they have decided to skip 4.1.2, and provide one last update to 4.2.2
Having said that, I don't see myself buying other Samsung products. For what seems forever, service provider & manufacturer's blame each other, for the slow pace of updates.
This and other issues (Apple injunctions, etc.) are not valid arguments, where Wi-Fi only devices are concerned. If you sell a premium product for a premium price, then you should support it.
FWIW I've been running the 4.1.2 ROM for some time now and it's been fine. Yes, the 7.7 is EOL. But then even as is I still use it daily. Fine tab. Does everything I require for entertainment. Actually, while I'm sure I'll go through many tabs in the future I somehow doubt I'll part with the "little tab that scared Apple". lol
Sure, 4.2.2 or even 4.3 would be cool but really. Some slick extras, yes, but anything "killer"? IMHO, not really. If a device does what I need it to in a manner that I find satisfying,it's a "win". Do I agree with Samsung "flooding" the market with ten and one half dozen versions of the Note, Tab or whatever? Not really but then I ain't in charge there. Let form follow function. Get a device that does what you want and when/if upgrades come down the pike...all the better!
Just my two cents.

Yeah, as someone who just took the plunge to do a self-update to 4.1.2 I can say that the Tablet is still absolutely great to use, even if not the latest Android version.
However, as it was sold as such a premium product, Samsung SHOULD have kept it up to date with Android releases. The JB 4.1.2 is pretty much unofficial and is an 'at your own risk' option for most users (and some have experienced real problems).
Whilst I love the hardware dearly, seeing Samsung abandon it like they did has given me pause about buying more Samsung Android devices. I recently upgraded my phone and chose a Sony product instead of the various Samsung offerings (e.g. S4 mini in my case) specifically because I just do not trust Samsung to issue timely updates or even keep supporting their devices properly. Also it doesn't help that Touchwiz is not a great UI customisation - the Sony effort is much better - and frankly I'd have went for something pure Android like a Moto G if it had supported MicroSD. I'm about to buy a large 10" tablet and I won't even consider Samsung, it'll be between the Sony Tablet Z and probably the new Nexus 10 if Google ever release it....
Samsung really owe it to the 7.7 userbase to do one last update to at least 4.3, preferably 4.4 KitKat. Remember that the Tab should really have shipped with ICS but it wasn't ready so Honeycomb 3.2 was just a placeholder, ergo I wouldn't even count the long-delayed 4.0.4 release as an update. Given that 4.1.2 was only for a few Aisan markets, for most global users the 7.7 has never received a true update. Shame on you Samsung!!!!

Absolutely agree! Have you tried Danielhk's 4.4 ROM? Installed in a few days ago and it's pretty awesome!
As far as updates if I recall correctly the 7.7 was THE tab that scared hell outta Apple moving them to ramp up suing Samsung. I can imagine Samsung pulling back on updates for that reason possibly? Still screws over the people who shelled out $500-$600+ for the tablet though.
But then now with the 4.4 port from Daneilhk.....the GTab 7.7 just shines!!!
Its interesting comments which I think many agree with. To get ourselves to 4.1.2 most people around the world
with a few exceptions of the Asian counties, had to do a manual flash. Our device is still very capable as compared
to older and current devices. Yet we need some movement with the software.
My recent email to Samsung didn't offer much help. They said that no planned software update is known for this tab
and that my tab should still be using Android 3.2.
I didn't bother to make further contact, in fact my tab is supposed to be on Official ICS. As far as I've been
able to gather, 4.2.2 seems the most stable as reported below. I'm hoping to replacement my current 4.1.2
with this soon. Most of all I want stability, without much missing functions or problems and of course
having a p6800 device, we need sim access, calls and mobile data.
4.3 / 4.4 just seems to far away for the near future. Maybe we'll have a final kit kat for christmas
next year before everyone retires from the 7.7 development. We can hope (but our prayers won't change samsung's minds)

no problem, with the litigation with Apple, Samsung has discontinued development.
Then when it was decided that Samsung could continue to sell the device, it was too late.
My opinion is that it promises to take legal action. In January I will start. I'm not used to being fooled in this way.

There are lots of regions which Samsung have ignored. We can wait but if not new Official Jellybean for 7.7 Users by August 2014 then I think its safe to assume samsung will leave its customers out in the cold. Do we really want wait 8 months for Jellybean though?
I suspect that if Daniel's 4.4 becomes fully functional and stable we might just say you know what, Samsung... don't bother. Still if you can live with custom roms 4.2.2 is stable but you certainly need an additional memory mod like Pure performances to help speed it up and avoid lag, its where I'm @, Might be keeping still for now.

Don't you find it funny that after 2 years from the 7.7 release. Apple came out with the mini which is a blatant ripoff of the 7.7.
And now they have the iPad Air which is just a bigger version of the 7.7. COPYCAT!
Exactly my feeling. Samsung should be brave and release a 7.7 2. But in the android update market Samsung sucks big time.

Really never android 4.4 Kitkat on our device will be or it is possible to go on Ebay and to sell it for 20-50 dollars, all the same it it is necessary to nobody, and then to take the credit?
If I understand you correctly, you're asking if kitkat will come to the galaxy tab or if you should sell it. Pac - rom developers on this forum have stated that they are working on porting 4.4,but they said it will take some time.

To speak and I can. Where it is possible to look at any build Pac-rom andoid 4.4 kitkat at least? From where to download? Or nevertheless directly to sell and buy a pad from Google (Galaxy Nexus threw, Nexus s threw) / Apple/Microsoft then not to complain on forum:threw a device.

Yes.
Whether it is worth waiting 1-2 weeks of the first build or directly to sell and buy that doesn't take a steam bath and not to wait for years of new Android versions from "unoffical teams"?

You are just a two post old and you are behaving like you have installed all the updates.
Though that is not of concern here. Its patience. Keep faith in these unofficial team as they do lot more better job than any official at Samsung or for that matter any other company. I am sure very soon there will be some great dev who will port the 4.4 for our beloved tab 2. Though if you are in hurry sell your tab 2 and buy the nexus 7.

And that, already bothered to wait sitting on ICS the new Android version - kitkat (Key Lime Pie in due time), as ICS is already obsolete, and on glyuchny, slowly semi-operating as JB to sit of desire isn't present. And here, again to wait 5.0? ICS already threw, and to put glyukavy, slowly, полуработающй, even with curve animation of JB of desire isn't present. Already ICS everywhere press, and KitKat on which I возглал all hopes on the fact that at least time I will see Rom working normally suddenly are postponed? What horror, how many still to wait for normal Kitkat on which at least it will be possible to sit normally the long time?

It is simpler to sell Tab 2 and to buy Nexus 7, after all Unoffical team (Like PecanCM, etc.) won't be able to make AndroidArmv6 Team to us the worker 4.4 as at informal commands as a rule hands from ass grow.
Though if you are in hurry sell your tab 2 and buy the nexus 7.

That I probably also will make. I think u r using some translation service to write here. Pl note that this service is pathetic. Its hard to understand ur sentences. BTW can u pl tell us what had stopped u from porting kitkat on galaxy tab as u are very eager to have it?
P.S: I respect u and wish that u also respect all devs who are doing this hard work in their free time.

Yes, I use PROMT Translator, as not the Englishman, and Russian. The Russian alcoholics (of which in the country of 95%) don't want to do Kitkat for Tab. And especially disappointed foreign, I thought though - any hope of them though I will deliver Kitkat and I will breathe sigh of relief. No. And they throw.
I have NO IDEA what you are saying.
But, if you want Kitkat, WAIT. It will come eventually.
If you don't want to wait, sell your Tab. Get Nexus 7.
I have no idea, but I found this news.
Samsung Phones to get Android 4.4 Update
For now, there is an internal Samsung Knox document which was leaked, and which showed a few devices which are going to get the Android 4.4 update, and the document actually showed the devices which would get the Samsung Knox in the coming update. The devices are as follows:
Samsung Galaxy S4
Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom
Samsung Galaxy S4 Active
Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Samsung Galaxy Mega (no confirmation whether the 5.8, 6.3 or both)

Speech about why our device threw also developers custom roms (Cyanogenmod, AOKP, Paranoid Android, SlimKat, Jelly bam and etc. ) from them I such didn't expect, I thought that from them I will receive the first build Kitkat in one day with an output of source codes, but as a result week passed, and Kitkat from anybody didn't see, even from the custom roms developers.[/QUOTE]

Dude, please do yourself a favour, use Google Translate -- it's waaay better translating both ways, and produces very decent (sometimes a bit funny, but very understandable) results. Honestly, my head hurts trying to understand what you are saying... BTW, I am Russian myself.

you should wait devs also have there lives
we will taste 4.4 no matter what have fate in samsung and devs
Feller121 - It seems like you are here only for bashing the devs. This kind of attitude does not help the community as everyone here is creating custom roms as pastime and not expecting anything in return. Wait dude, you will not be disappointed.
But the odd thing is:We appearently have excellent devs, but as many news about 4.4 kitkat releases for xperia z,moto x,galaxy nexus,i am beginning to question that.People have lives, yes. And if someone could make a simple way to make our pcs build latest releases for us over sources, instead of the "simple" build guides that have over 50 steps and things needed to make the building work.It would take me 3 months to learn all of that...
I guess if nexus 10 didnt get 4.4,our tablets will have to wait for a long time
Sorry, wrong thread about wrong device... Deleted.

Guys, is there any chance for us to get official update to 2014ths features? Or even unofficial updates, with TwROM functionalities?

The question shall be different: is there any chance for us to get ANY official update.
And the answer seems to be obvious: NO.
That's Sammy's policy. N10.1 was not selling as expected - so let's show its users a middle finger. After being a Sammy's loyal client for almost 10 years - that's the absolute end, as it is the 4th device which was left without serious updates (other than cosmetic ones...) in less than a half-year after debut.

You have been told this by someone at Samsung?
If not....... can you send me the link to were you read about this being Samsung's policy.

I actually work with a Samsung Solutions Architect, and according to a conference call that I had this morning regarding a beta I am running on the Note 3 and Knox. Samsung is in the final stages of testing with Samsung Knox and the Galaxy Note 10.1, the problem any Carrier branded Note 10.1 has is that IT IS THE CARRIER who says when the updates get pushed out. Samsung has a 4.3 update for "legacy" devices, but with the partnership they have with the carriers ATT, Tmobile VZW and Sprint, the carriers are the ones who are not signing off on the updates. In the case of the Gt-N8013 I have NO clue what the hold up is besides the beta test for knox that I am part of. During the conference call I asked the Director of SEA Knox Development team when this will be brought to the 2012 version of Galaxy Note 10.1 and his reply is they are aggressively working on the update and it should be done soon. Now I know that doesn't mean much but at least it shows Samsung didn't just drop the 2012 version they just "need" more time to test it out. That is actually why I am part of the SEA KNOX BETA that will run the first qt of the new year.

Thats why Sammy shouldnt release so many devices. It costs them more money and more time to update since they have so many devices. I bought this tablet because I thought it was their flag ship tablet that means it would get update faster but I was totally wrong. I wont buy any ****ty tablet from Samsung again.

my dear friend mikejones13
thanks for your honest and precise answer
but the question being asked is somehow different than what u said
what i care most is the "feature pack" presented with the new note! it's my right and i want all of those capabilities on my N8000!
ps: u see? i am not looking for just an update! having waited so long makes me worry if I am gonna get something valuable in return or not!
I'd asked the same question before and got no answers
Basic answer with all upgrades is you may get them . But you have no entitlement to them you never bought them in the first place . Plus at some stage the apps may be ported .

Well I think you have your "right" mixed up with your "want" Samsung doesn't owe you anything for buying the 2012 version of the galaxy note 10.1 they are under no obligation to provide you with the the new features of the 2014 edition. If and I do mean if we get them, then that was mighty nice of Samsung. Otherwise if it is so important to get the new features I suggest porting the rom over to these devices. Don't get me wrong I would like the features as well considering I am the admin for my job and I have deployed 800+ 2012 Galaxy Note 10.1's to our students and staff. I don't remember Samsung saying you get X amount of updates on x amount of years when you buy a device.

Yes, Samsung didnt say anything and it doesnt need to even say anything. But when they chose Android OS they knew that every companies working with Android know that everybody having an android device are expecting to get updates - it is a nature of android. It developes fast.. What do you expect to happen if Apple did the same? "Sorry, but no new ios for u, just buy a new iWhatever?" Even the dumbiest sheep will be lost...
As you probably have seen it in a real life too, Samsung just has too many devices to kerp updated and they still dont stop. Every week they launch a new device, just changed something just a little bit to get a new toy - today it was a some model with a screen size 8.2", tomorrow they launch it again, but it will have a 8.3" screen. On next week they change it a little bit again and it is now called "pro". How can you even think about any updates nowadays!? It's crazy already, they are just flooding the markets!
And what comes to updates, i give a **** what carriers want or not. Remember that people live outside usa too. In Europe most of us dont have any carrier linked, bloatware devices. Like i am using an international version (nordic actually) of N8000, and no carriers. Why isnt this one updated? No need to wait carriers and their bloatware or anything... It is just an excuse. I only hope Samsung has faced the problem they did all by themselves flooding with billion devices. Unfortunately customers are those who pay the price!
