my sandisk works fine, worked in my evo3d and its fine on my s4 as well...
I'm using a Sandisk 64gb Ultra C10. Have had it in the N2 and the S4. No problem whatsoever. Lucky , I guess.
I've had a Sandisk 32gig Class 4 sdcard that has been used in my Charge, S3 and now S4 with no problems so far.
I was waiting for a sale like this. Now I'm hesitant......
Never had any problems with any sandisk products period. My sandisk thumbdrives and memory cards are like the energizer bunny. I think I should pick up a 64 gig card while they are cheap. Thanks for posting.

hm, i don't want to jinx myself, but I have a 64gb class 10 ultra, and it's been fine
Sandisk are a company that market well and rely on people getting suckered into the branding and marketing. The actual card themselves are very poor quality and majority of people will opt against using them in electronics.
I'm in for a 64gb. I've never had an issue with Sandisk
Just bought myself a 32gb for the S4, thanks for the link.
Several of you mentioned that you have had issues with Sandisk and that their products are no good.

Its just from my personal experience I guess. You can give them a shot, its not a guarantee that yours will act the same as mine. Currently I use Lexar class 10 working very good
I am RMAing my 32gig Ultra as I type this... I'm hoping the replacement is more reliable...
i guess to each their own, i think it's a bit much to define the cards are very poor quality though. the company offers a lifetime warranty on their microsd cards, is ranked #1 and #3 in their respective category (32 and 64gb) on amazon and reviews overall are positive (2400+ reviews). yes, there are those that have had issues with them, but the same can be said about just about all of the other companies.
Add me to the list of people who have always used SanDisk in phones and never had a problem.
I have been using sandisk cards for quite some time now and never had any issues with any of them.

I want a Class 6 one. But I think over $50 on newegg is too expensive.
8GB for $15-20 on newegg... and the 16GB is double in space but more than double in price.
Where'd you get your 16GB Class 6 and how much?
Newegg ... $55-$60.

Yeah, Adata is the one I got, just couldn't remember the price exactly.
in one of these SD card threads, someone posted their result that a class 2 was just as fast as a class 6 for USB transfers. Do we really need class 6? can our phones even utilize the faster speed?
i'm with minty on this. you won't rly notice the difference. i've been using a class 2 sandisk 16gb since the day it was released about a year and a half ago. I don't regret spending that money at all, it's been with me with the g1, and now the nexus. File transfers are plenty fast and it hasn't skipped a heartbeat. I've had some dud flash memory cards in the past and they have all been cheaper cards. all of my transcend and sandisk cards are still going strong after years of use, so just go for one of those imho.

The throughput of USB transfer might only be <2mb/sec max, but that's not necessarily the same for the internal bus transfer speeds.
I imagine, internally, it's faster. Even if it isn't, (IMO) a Class6 is more "future proof".

Holy crap, the 16gb AData card I got from Newegg I've had for awhile just filled up. It said it was 15.9gb out of 16gb but when I counted up all the files on the sd card they totalled just below 4gb.
I'm surprised Newegg would be selling fakes.

nope, but if that feature is in the first beta release of cm-6 then I will try it and let you know since i'll get overly excited as usual and install it right away.
I bought a Kingston 16gb Class10 two months ago.
It's about USD 90-95 in eBay.
I have no problem with 720p video recording.
hi i'm after a 16gb memory card but don't know what class to get, as cheap as possible but it must be from a well known manufacturer
Probably doesn't matter what anyone says - whichever brand person X stands behind, somenoe else will say it failed on them and to go for brand Y.
Having said that, I have a 16gb Kingston class 2 which has been perfect, cost about £25 or so when I got it. Recently picked up the same but a class 10. That one was about £80 including shipping as I wanted to see the speed difference, etc.
Not sure what others people will swear by. I don't swear by Kingston, but I have yet to have one go bad on me...

And was the Class 10 worth it for speed?
I've used both Kingston and Sandisk in the past - and currently have a 8GB Class 6 Sandisk in my desire. It's been just fine.
I'd like to make the leap to a 32GB card, but I'm slightly concerned the Class 2 one available might have issues. (Although I've read many contradicting posts on that subject too!)
@TractorMatty
Between an older 16gig class 2 and the 16gig class 10 yes - galleries rendered much quicker, seemed more responsive, etc.
But between a class 6 and a class 10... meh. Not worth it at the moment.
Does it matter what class you get? Because so far I can only find a 16bg class for over just £20.
Using Team Group 16GB microSDHC Class 6.
Got it from ebay
Go for Classe 6 it's almost like a C10, but cheaper (and you won't really notice any difference).

Well, i can tell the diff between my shipped in Desire's Samsung 4G Classe 2 and my previous Sandisk 8G Classe 4... My Classe 4 is faster.

I took the risk and tried the 32gb, online for $40au... failed miserably and still scarred by the copious time spent trying to copy, format, reformat, copy... with most ending up in the lost.dir (except for 1.2gb that ended up working).
Since then, have got a 16gb SanDisk. It's only a Class 2, but haven't had any issues with speed whether it be reading or writing. Avi's play in sync... Good bang for the buck.
Mind you, I only went for SanDisk because they were always good to me in the standard SD days, but have heard plenty of good word on Kingston and Lexar.
32gb on ebay are 75% fakes.
I just got my Kingston 16gb Class 10 card. Do you guys think my card reader's speed is maxed out and it might be able to go faster than this?
I'll be getting THIS ONE when they get it back in stock.
Well, just got a Kingston 16Gb class 10 and can't use it, because it's defective .
But I'm not blaming Kingston, it can happen with any brand and I'm gonna exchange it... Hopefully I have a Sandisk 16Gb class 2, a not-very-fast-but-working-SD-card....

ive got a pny 16 gig, and it works great. i know kingston makes good ram, so id imagine that a kingston sd card would be worth its money, and i cant see a big brand memory product being garbage, especially in 2011. that price is a win no matter what though.

I've read a few reviews on Wintec cards, and not a lot of them are good. They work fine at first, then start to degrade quickly. To top it off, people say that when they try to get it replaced through Wintec, Wintec claims that its user error or abuse.

I have 16GB for two years already and now i bought 32 gb ... both are working well so far.
16gb are going from $22-$35 shipped right now - class 10 speeds. Pick one up if you are using the stock 8gb. I just ordered one myself.
I've used two different Kingston SD Cards. They worked well for me without any issues. My previous was an 8gb Kingston class 4 and I currently have a Kingston 16gb Class 4 card.
The 8GB is nearly 2 years old and is working just fine. Have used it in multiple cell phones and currently serves as a flash drive for work using an adapter. The 16gb works just as well with some added space.

From my experience I would have to agree on the class. To be honest, I think even a quality class 2 card would do just fine on a mobile device.
The class is an indication of the minimum Write Speed (class 4 = 4mb/s class 6 = 6mb/s, etc) The Read speed is generally much higher than that, so even if you are running applications from the SD card, performance shouldn't be hindered by a lower class card.
The only instance I can think of that performance would be affected is if you record a lot of 720P video with your phone. In that case, a faster write speed *Should* help with stuttering issues.
Now if we were talking about a high end SLR camera, then hell yes, speed makes a huge difference. I run a Kingston Class 6 in my SLR and it handles everything just fine, including HD video.
Just my 2 cents...
Well,
What it really comes down to is how fast the SD card adapter is in our phones, which I haven't figured out yet. If it'll fully utilize a class 10 card in terms of max write speed, then I would totally go for a class 10 card.
Can anyone verify the max speed our phones could support? (No guesses, please)
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I like Samsung cards personally. The performance has always been well above it's rated speed, and I've never had one corrupt/fail on me.

Must have been a promotion. My shipping was free. ANd to update everyone else it works like a charm. Dont really notice anything as far as normal phone function because I dont store apps on SD but My Titanium, Nandroid, and Just general SD backups to the PC are noticably faster.
Kingston is dead to me...
So, used to be a big proponent of Kingston, but they've seriously slipped over the last couple years (and not just flash, I've had major problems with their desktop memory, too, but that's a story for another forum). I bought the SDC4/32GB from Newegg. Supposed to be 32GB class 4 card. Wow. First one they sent wrote at 2MBps, read at 3MBps. Sent it in for a replacement, and I got one that wrote at 3MBps and read at 3.5MBps. Tried formatting it with my phone, with the official sdformatter utility, with Windows, with Linux, nothing helped. Third replacement was back down to 2/3MBps. Hardly class 4. And no, it wasn't my device or anything like that. I've got an actual class 4 8GB Sandisk card that came stock with my phone, and it does 5/7MBps on the same devices on which I tested the Kingston. And the Sandisk can record 720p without stuttering. Recordings from the Kingston were like watching a slideshow.
Very much done with that. Sent it back (again), got a refund, and now I've ordered that class 10 Wintec 32GB. Curious to see how it performs, and I'll stress it right away to see how it handles in the long run (do a bunch of writes and reads the first week to make sure it won't crap out right away). I'll report back here with my results, but they can't be worse than the Kingston. And from what I've read, it may be hit or miss, but when I get a hit, it'll be a class 10!

I have the SanDisk Ultra 64 and its been nothing but problems. It will randomly corrupt files on my card, deletes all pics and videos and randomly unmounts. Have no idea what the issue is. The only way to get it to work again is copy what I can to my external hdd. Then reformat the card. it works for a couple weeks, then it does it again.
Unfortunately Amazon had no return policy on this card. I've been thinking of just ordering another or trying a Samsung card. But I thought SanDisk was the company to go with the memory card game. Who knew.

I started out with a Sandisk 64gb ultra and it kept unmounting randomly every so often. I got sick of it (and tried all of the tricks, formatting as FAT etc,etc.etc.still issue)- especially after losing some pics and vids of my son's school awards.
I ended up going with a samsung 64.
I think sandisk is generally good, I've not had any other issues with their cards/flashdrives -so, it could have just been a bad one.
I did get it from Amazon and ended up returning it and got the samsung 64gb instead.
I've have had no issues whatsoever with the Samsung.

It may be cheap but not worth the loss of data if you load on too much at once etc. Anyone know anywhere I can get a genuine SanDisk a bit cheaper or like I said, is it a case of if you want quality you have to pay top dollar? I had a Sandisk (32GB) and it got fried. Returned it under warranty as I had it under a year and they replaced it for free (just had to pay postage). There were reports of previous models of cards that were faulty and mine may very well have been one of them. I had used it in my HTC sensation prior to my S4 and hadn't formatted before using with my S4. Perhaps a coincidence but I had an issue when creating a nandroid backup and it corrupted shortly after this, so not sure if this was a contributing factor or not. But been using my replacement for the past 4 months without any issues so happy with it.
I had one issue with one 64gb SanDisk. There were known issues early on and SanDisk owned up to it, and they readily replaced cards. My replacement has zero issues. Most of my cards in general are SanDisk with a couple Samsungs.

i am also looking for a great one.
suggestions are welcome:laugh:
My S3 killed two SanDisk cards rather quickly so when I got the S4, got a Samsung one instead. Been in use nearly a year and no problems

I'm using the Samsung one and I haven't had any issues at all, I didn't even format it to my phone just inserted and butter. Out of 64 only 58.84 was usable, that normal?

That's a really good sale; kind of overkill for the S4 but probably one of the best cards there is.
16/32/64GB $18/$25/$50
I recommend to skip getting a samsung 64 GB card and stick with the SanDisk Ultra 128 GB Class 10 Micro SDXC. This is the latest, fastest and highest capacity Micro SDXC Class 10 card I've found yet and SanDisk is the only brand to make this capacity compatible with the S4. There are many reports on Amazon that this card DOES work on the S3 and S4. I have the 64 GB version of that SanDisk card and I've never had any problems. I also have about 5 GB's left so I'm happy for now... until I have the 128 GB one! Just so everyone knows... I found it one day on Amazon about 3 weeks ago and they had the 128 GB card for $120. The next day I checked, it had jumped up drastically to $190. Get it while it's hot but watch the item for price drops!!
Oh, there's no such thing as overkill in my opinion. If the rumors are true about the S5 having Dual Micro SD Card slots being capable of reading up to 128 GB's per slot... I'd be more than happy to welcome around 256 GB's for total SD Card memory in my phone. Can you imagine all the porn, dvd movies, android games, old school video game system (NES, Super NES, N64, Sega Genesis, etc) emulated games, PDF files, .ePub/.mobi android books, full series TV shows like Game of Thrones, hundreds of thousands of pics, & as much space for music you could possibly handle?! I can and I want one!
