[Q] Mounting Issues, No OS! - HTC One S

Hey Guys,
I am a new user of the HTC ONE S which I got this march. I have basically no knowledge of adb, but I used the all in one toolkit to unlock my bootloader and install TWRP. My HBoot version is 2.15.0000 with S-ON.
I have the following issue:
By mistake, I wiped the system using TWRP. I now do not have an operating system on my phone. I tried the method suggested here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630459. I was able to format my SD card to FAT 32, and place the ROM on the root of my Sd card. Then, I booted into TWRP and am able to view the rom, but when I tried to flash it, it gives me errors. I am unable to mount cache, dalvik, and the sd card. Aroma installer does not work, nor does the factory RUU found in the dev section. I also tried placing a nandroid backup on my phone (found in dev) for TWRP, but I cant see it in recovery, while my computer can.
I have tried almost all the solutions, can someone please help me.
Note : Please be kind and patient while explaining it to me, I am a noob who needs step by step instructions. Thank you in advance.

It also does not mount usb - otg.

If you can get to the bootloader you might want to just try an RUU. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140967
It would take you back to complete stock and you can start over.
From your post, I'm guessing you already tried pushing a zip through adb.

Thank you for your reply.
Just to clarify, I CAN use my card perfectly on the computer and copy ROMs etc. The TWRP runs the ROM.zip, but because the system, cache etc is not mounted, installation fails. I tried the method linked in the first post, as well as the stock OTA with no success. So, I would like to know how to run the RUU.exe

Try this walk through. Just make sure you download the right RUU.

[Q] Unable to access SD card after flashing MIUI

Hey all -
I've done a fair amount of reading regarding this issue, to no avail. My programming knowledge is limited but I do have experience rooting and flashing ROMs on another device. Anyway....Rooted, unlocked bootloader, flashed CWM 5.8.3.1. Following this, I downloaded MIUI.us v4 2.6.22 ICS on my SD card, factory reset, and flashed it via CWM.
Seems to work alright, but I cannot access my SD card from anywhere. MIUI won't recognize it, CWM says it can't be mounted. I somehow created a partition on the SD through CWM, but it did not help. I tried re flashing CWM, with similar results. Not sure as to what the next step would be - re flash MIUI, relock bootloader/flash stock RUU...? Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

The built in storage is still seen as an sd card by the OS. That's why its path is /sdcard.
But yeah, the first thing I would do would be to relock your bootloader and run an RUU.

[Q] [RESOLVED] Is my phone bricked? Please help

Okay so today I was tinkering with my phone when I accidentally deleted a system file that was crucial. So I went to bootloader and wiped phone (I know that was the wrong thing to do, now). So I have no ROM on my phone. I was able to ADB the ROM I need to my phone on internal storage (not /sdcard) but the problem is whenever I try to flash it, I get the following error over and over in the code area in TWRP "E: failed to mount /sdcard (invalid argument). I've gone to the mount options screen and when I try to select sdcard nothing happens, I can't select it. If it's any help, the ROM I'm trying to flash has the official page here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804223 and the ROM I was on before this whole thing is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868236 . Any help is greatly appreciated, I really need this phone fixed!
EDIT: Alright, so I flashed stock recovery, relocked, and then used my friend's PC (thanks man!) and now my phone is in perfect working condition. Just re-rooted and re-unlocked the bootloader in like 10 minutes, which is funny because it took me like an hour and a half the first time. Anyways, thank you to all the users on this forum for helping me. Appreciate it!
NEVER Factory Reset or Clear Storage from bootloader it'll screw up your storage inside of twrp. I tried formatting storage afterwards in twrp and in windows and it still didn't help twrp see it. I ended up running the ruu again.
easiest thing to do is run the ruu again, reunlock bootloader, flash twrp and flash rom. then never factory reset or clear storage in bootloader again.
if you find another method let me.

Okay, sorry what what's the ruu and how do I run it again?
EDIT: So is the ruu the stock ROM? I've done some googling and it appears that it's something to do with exe file. I'm on a Mac, but I can get access to a PC if it's necessary.

And youll have to learn some simple adb commands tto relock your bootloader..or it won't work someone correct me if wrong
Hi guys yep you'll need to do some adb work to relock for ruu. However... if you still have recovery? You could try flashing a clean ROM. Then flash the cm10 over that. Of course youll need to delete cache,s before flashing cm10. I'd give that a shot first.
(Edit) I just noticed you having the mount issue also... ignore that. Just check you PC it should still show up. And it may ask you to format the drive? Your OK to do that fat32.

subarudroid, the sdcard partition is fubar that's why he needs to ruu. reread the posts.

I can't flash any ROM because I keep getting that error mentioned in the original post.
let us know when you relock your bootloader and ruu back to stock
boot into bootloader run "fastboot oem lock" then run the ruu
You still have recovery. Right? You should still be OK. Twrp is not letting you mount SD. Right?

He needs to relock bl and ruu ..download aan ruu. That will be ok. If you need help with adb check out gunnymans stickied thread
Easiest way to fix is to connect phone to pc, then select mount, mount usb in twrp and windows will prompt you to format.
Then once that is done you can copy your rom of choice across unmount and flash.

Twrp is known for having mount issue. I'm tell in ya if you USB to PC it will still find the SD as long as you have the HTC drivers installed. Unless your twrp is gone? Then you need to ruu.

Yes, I still have recovery and twrp is not letting me mount sd card. I'm trying to get the ruu to work, however, I have a Mac and getting it to work in a third party program like Wine or Parallels isn't easy, but I'm making progress. If there's another way to run the ruu on Mac, let me know.

And second example was cwm. And cwm does work but not the international version we have an unofficial unreliable build
I was using just a little sarcasm about cwm. that second thread does in fact discuss the problem with twrp as well. I just hate to see rolltribe go though all the trouble of ruu when it may be possible not to do so.

That's what I was aiming for as well - why ruu when there's an easier way that should work providing the right drivers etc are installed.
I wiped my phone via bootloader 3 times in one evening by being to quick on the volume to power trigger and brought it back using what I said above.

[Q] TWRP/NO OS - ROGERS - Searching forums and nothing!

I have been reading for the last couple weeks, thinking I have an answer and end up further into the hole.
Rogers HTC One X / EVITA / HBOOT 2.14. / 2.4 TWRP initially, now 2.6 / Unlocked boot loader / s-on
1. Started trying to flash AOKP 4.2.2. Flashed boot.img, then followed with TWRP recovery. All I could get was the language screen and then it stalled. Tried numerous iterations of this with various wipes and flash first and flash after.
2. Next tried Viper 3.2.7. All good till it gets to startup screen then it stops (I understand Viper has its boot.img installed to start not needing it flashed).
3. While trying various wipes to see if it would install completely I mistakenly did a factory reset! Now no OS! No Nandroid! No ROM.zip!
4. To get a ROM on SDCard tried ADB sideload thru TWRP. after running script it says unable to mount SDCARD! Suggests I reboot system! Now a little leery of rebooting for fear it will not.
5. Also tried to MOUNT HTV via TWRP on to laptop. Did not recognize said ti initialize. Formatted FAT 32 (via MAC). Now will not mount SD Card. I did drop Viper.zip into mount (cache and system OK) but can not find it using FILE MANAGER via TWRP
6. Now am in BOOTLOADER screen of Android. Thought I could flash a ROM but from what I read it does not look possible.
Can any one point me in the right direction to get this thing up and running. At this point, as much as I am learning all the time, it does me no good having my phone down for two weeks (sure glad I kept my Nexus One).
Any answer at this stage is a good answer and I appreciate all input!
Thanks
D
Sounds like you did a factory reset in bootloader which corrupts the sd card after unlocking the bootloader. You used to be able to just mount it on pc and format it but after the jb update I don't think that's possible due to the drive no longer being a mass storage device but an mtp device instead. There was a method to fix it developed by team nocturnal but it looks like the site is inaccessible right now. I'll see if there's a way to fix it and get back to you. Bear with me.
[/COLOR]By any chance have you tried wiping sd card in twrp 2.6?
Also, have done SuperCID yet?

SuperCID has not been done. It is S-ON presently.
I wiped SD Card as suggested. Saw it set up partitions. And now TWRP shows up when I mount . Can I just drop a ROM in and flash via TWRP? Any suggestions for a ROM. Could not get AOKP 4.2.2 to run or Viper 3.2.7.
Thanks for the quick assist at getting it to MOUNT.
Flash a stock sense rom and then fastboot flash boot boot.img extracted from the rom. Then use jet to downgrade hboot and SuperCID and then s-off. It'll save you lots of headaches.

It all sounds simple when you say it.
I will find a stock sense ROM to install then follow with boot.img.
Is it necessary to wipe anything more then Dalvik and Cache?
Thanks again.

In twrp 2.6 the factory reset wipes everything except sd card and system. You don't have to wipe system but I always do when I'm flashing a new rom.

You'll need to place the new ROM on your sdcard then in recovery you'll need to wipe system, cache, dalvic cache, and factory reset.. After that you can flash the ROM.. You'll also need to flash the kernel in fastboot mode if your not s-off.. There are plenty of threads and info on that topic if you do a little research.

Firt do: You'll need to place the new ROM on your sdcard then in recovery you'll need to wipe system, cache, dalvic cache, and factory reset as $droyd$ said
Then, on your pc, open the rom.zip and extract the boot.img file from it.
Then, select in the OneS All-in-one toolkit the flash kernel option and run the command. Wait until your phone is in the bootloader and then select the boot.img and let it run.
You can download the toolkit here: http://d-h.st/n9n
is resolved, do not quite know how but it was. thank you all for your vested interest in helping a stranger who is very grateful.

[SOLVED] Error mounting the SD-Card

Hello!
For days I have been struggling with my HTC One S. It all started when I forgot to reflash the boot.img after updating Cyanogenmod. At first I didn't understand that I needed this after kernel changes, and just installed different versions of Cyanogenmod because I thought that "that version has a bug and doesn't work". The screen had only stripes of different colours, and couldn't boot. After trying different versions, wiping and flashing, I found out about the important boot.img. Just when I figured out that, and booted recovery an evening I noticed that the sd-card couldn't be mounted longer. I didn't think too hard about it, and just connected my phone to the computer to flash the boot.img and a new recovery. I only have Windows 8.1 on my computers, which didn't work. Therefor I decided to install Ubuntu alongside Windows (took me 6 hours now to do so), and now Fastboot finally worked! Than I flashed boot.img and a new recovery. The strang thing now was that I could finally boot the last Cyanogenmod version I flashed before the SD-card mount error (10.2.0), but still in recovery the SD-Card can't mount, nor in Android. I have tried to follow different guides here to avoid doublepost, but without success. Can someone please help me?
