Ok, downloaded Trinity, booted to came wiped cache and dalvik and then flashed Trinity and rebooted. It booted with the Trinity boot animation, went to a black screen (as expected) and stayed there for 30 minutes. I expected that it could take a little time but 30 minutes was a stretch. Battery was at full.charge with USB cable connected.
Anyone have any idea's as to why it didn't work or should I just try it again? I grabbed the overclocked one earlier today and dl'ed it from my phone.

You should listen to what Kwes said... he is right you would have to revert back to about 3ish months ago kernels... new ones will not work with old versions of CM

Exactly. The kernels get updated with the nightlies not the "stable" releases. You could actually probably go back a month or so because that's the last time the kernel changed I think.

I get what you're saying now. I thought you were thinking that I was running CM nightly.
As an update, I tried the earlier version listed on his website and that didn't work either thought I did something interesting.
I decided to just restore the boot from my nandroid (half as an experiment) and that resolved it not booting. Now I looked in the actual zip for the kernel and there are a few files which are system files but the actual kernel I guess doesn't remain since the kernel version is no different.
Another interesting factor is that there is now boot sound, which I saw on another thread being talked about so, if it's a matter of a few files why hasn't someone (outside of CM team) just upped the files with the needed code in them?
So, now back to me getting trinity on this thing, I guess I should just install the latest nightly and see if that works. I'm at work right now so if I have customers I can't be watching my phone.
When I run cm I always use the gigglebread kangs they are always pretty good and very stable.

I'll try that, I assume you mean here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362451.
I'm also going to wait to grab it, I'm still throttled until tomorrow or hte next day. I still need to call them and ask why I had data on 2g count against my "High-speed" data usage.
Also, I noticed that my wifi tether doesn't work, not a huge deal, just means I need to have some more time on my hands to see what those files do exactly. That or make someone I know do it for me....
No that's not it I sent you a pm.

Trinity kernel is not compatible with that release. There's no reason to run that release anyways, go get baldwinguys CM7 kang, which isn't really a kang and is just adding the nightly features because cyanogens bot is down.

Funny, when a friend of mine mentioned he was running a nightly my replay was something to the effect of: I don't mind having my web browser be a nightly release but I'm not too sure I want to have something potentially unstable that barely works on my phone. I also feel like I'm missing something on these nightlies, afaik, you have to completely wipe your system and flash it then reinstall all your apps, reconfigure them, and reconfigure your system settings. That's just too much work, I don't have the time to do that even weekly.

Nah nightlies are as stable or more stable then rc builds on cm7. No need with all that wiping really. Unless you are going to something other then cm7 or you change your file formats.

Considering a Unlocked Nexus S new for a friend on T-Mobile. Saw there is a stable CM10.1.2 release for it and wondering how well it runs being that the phone is 1Ghz and only 512MB ram. My friend is new to smartphones and wont be gaming or doing anything intense. But does it handle browsing and GPS ok?
Thanks
Never heard of cm10.1.2? My nexus s is running 4.2.2 and is really smooth. I never had any problems with 4.2.2 on optimus g even GPS works good for me.

Stable CM 10.1.2 with stock kernel installed after full wipe/full format:
same problems as the nightlies, lags, reboots, slow and painful sometimes... like waiting for nothing in manya apps and getting the message that allows you to kill the app even if you're not multitasking at all.
Unusable and most of all you can't run it for days without rebooting.

This is actually a pretty nice ROM. Thanks killersloth!
As people have pointed out bluetooth doesn't work, but also init.d scrips are not enabled. Apart from that haven't really faced any major issues.
Hoping the next release fixes these bugs.
Any chance of getting the SLIMOTA working? I know this is an unofficial Slimbean build, but couldn't you edit the app to point to your server instead?
I really like this one! It is snappier than cm10.2, and I think I like it even better than Carbon. I'm still getting it set up, but so far I'm impressed. I. Haven't tried everything I need yet, but I like the responsiveness, and think I may have found my new daily driver! at least until something else comes along that I have to try . I'm wishing I could try Ubuntu, but it is not ready yet.
I'll stick with this for a while and see how it goes.
Thanks again, though, it's really cool to see so many ROMs popping up for this device.

I see in the CM10 thread this list of bugs:
Known Bugs:
Screen of Death: This is a CM10 bug, many other devices are afflicted, not just the blaze. Many people are working hard to fix this.
UI action sounds may not work at first. Adjust the volume with the volume buttons, the sounds will then work fine. This is a known CM10 bug
BLN is wonky. Working on getting us merged with the stable version native to CM10.
Fixed 20121103+ : WiFi generates a random MAC address with each boot.
Camera: Flash can't be disabled
Camera: Storage location cannot be changed. This isn't really a bug, however if the interest is great enough, I might try and figure out a way to change the system default storage location.
Other things maybe? Discuss in the thread...

The latest nightly is 99.8% stable. Occasionally occasional people have occasional problems once in a while. Nothing is 100% usually. I've been running it for many months now. Just user ICS camera from the market and set it to use your sd card for saving pics.

I'm currently running Slimbean 4.3 20130905, and I've gotta say its pretty sweet. Its in beta stages so there will be a few bugs, but honestly the only ones I've come across so far is the camera crashes, the torch crashes, and setting performance tweaks cause a reboot. Other than that its buttery smooth. I HIGHLY recommend it, sir. Its a lightweight build for superior performance, and it delivers through and through. Also flash with the minimal gapps build to keep performance nice and creamy. Slimbeam + minimal gapps = 140mgb. Smaller than your average ROM.

To be perfectly honest Liquid Smooth gave me some trouble. Even after doing a completely fresh flash it wasn't stable in the least.
That being said it never hurts to give it a shot. I saw somewhere a kernel you could flash possibly fixing any issues you may have with it. Unfortunately it didn't work for me

Hi all!
I'm using an HTC One S, and I tried some different roms.
I tried Pacman, Paranoidandroid, but they're a little bit heavy and full of features I'll never use, and the battery doesn't last too much.
So I tried CodenameLungo, Slimroms and Carbon, and they're light and the battery use is amazing... but most of them are based on nightly release, and they're not stable. Sometimes they freeze, sometimes the sim card stop to work, sometimes I have to reboot 'cause wifi doesn't work...
And actually I'm looking for a stable and light rom... does it exist?
Waiting for any suggestion (except for Sense based rom, it's too heavy!).
Thanks a lot!

That's my advise, too. Almost vanilla Android. Latest stable for ville is 10.0 (4.1.2) and RC2 for 10.1 (4.2) is out.
Jengirl ... I've been a pure android guy since putting my old Diamond to rest. A couple of months ago, had finally had enough of Sprint, sold the Nexus S 4G, and picked up a One S for TMobile. Immediately installed CM10, and after a few weeks tried Code Lungo ... same as you, just had annoying little issues. Finally decided to run stock 4.1.1, but without all the unnecessary TMo bloat and with a stripped down, light version of Sense. Ever since, this sucker simply flies ... without any lag. What made the difference was Rom Cleaner, that I customized to meet my needs. By the way, in addition to being fast without lag ... everything works!
I'm also on holoblackbean 2.3 & this thing is stable & it flies. No complaints. I want to switch to Odyssey when this one gets buggy or it let's me down.... It never has.

Why use a monthly snapshot when there are more stable release candidates available?
Sent from my One S using xda app-developers app
Best stable, light ROM for me after trying all ROM's is [ROM] SourcE v1.4 | Audio quality | Smooth | [Unsense MOD]
Everything works with just the right amount of mods, especially the sound mod is best for me. Until I can safely update firmware for 4.2.2 Sense 5 this is best ROM for stability.
