Awesome thanks for making another build! Is this slimbean?

Yes, I'll work on the title and op later but the builds are up.

In case it's not a known issue, bluetooth will not turn on. Otherwise, nice so far.

Does it have the rotation bug that causes horrible slowdown after a few rotations?

I think this is resolved, if not much better.

I'm pretty sure the Bluetooth issue is just a missing commit away from being fixed.
There is a bug hiding in recent app screen where previews are the wrong orientation.

Working nicely so far my only app that doesn't run fully is "inssider". It doesn't crash but some of the WiFi graphs aren't working. No biggie.

I assume since the topic is labeled as 4.3 that the 0813 version of gapps should be applied?

Slim Team recommends that you use their 4.3 gapps, either AIO or the minimal for best results. http://slimroms.net/index.php/downloads/dlsearch/viewcategory/908-addons4-3/downloads/dlsearch

This is actually a pretty nice ROM. Thanks killersloth!
As people have pointed out bluetooth doesn't work, but also init.d scrips are not enabled. Apart from that haven't really faced any major issues.
Hoping the next release fixes these bugs.
Any chance of getting the SLIMOTA working? I know this is an unofficial Slimbean build, but couldn't you edit the app to point to your server instead?

I really like this one! It is snappier than cm10.2, and I think I like it even better than Carbon. I'm still getting it set up, but so far I'm impressed. I. Haven't tried everything I need yet, but I like the responsiveness, and think I may have found my new daily driver! at least until something else comes along that I have to try . I'm wishing I could try Ubuntu, but it is not ready yet.
I'll stick with this for a while and see how it goes.
Thanks again, though, it's really cool to see so many ROMs popping up for this device.
Sent from my Nook HD+ with unofficial SlimBean on emmc using Tapatalk HD

Two more bugs to add. Locations doesn't work and the Youtube app is very buggy. Going to hold off using this as a daily driver. Will try again after a couple of releases.

Definitely smoother than 10.2. Thanks for the great work!

[Q] best AOSP ROM for this phone?

I've been running CarbonROM (03/16 nightly) and as much as I love it, I always seem to see issues with it with the screen freezing to the point where I have to pull the battery to fix it.
Can anyone recommend an AOSP ROM that is extremely reliable?

That is a small issue, but it's not that bad by any means. I just don't like Touchwiz being all bloated. Lol

KT's kernel always caused random reboots for sure. Any build wouldn't be any different. Anyways, I'm enjoying the 16th right now. But if it keeps freezing, then I'll try the 15th.

I cant stand bloat either but with kids I have to be able to hear the voices and or singing. Aosp video is near silent except for when I talk lol.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
The most stable ROMs I have found are clean rom for TW. Scott UK so always one of the first to update to new builds. As far as AOSP, I really like Liquid Smooth. Really quick, light weight and one of the few 4.2.2 ROMs with the ability to save pics directly to the SD card, which for me is a deal breaker if not included.

If you are looking for stable and reliable avoid nightlies. I have found slim rom, rootbox, carbon and liquid to all be extremely stable if you stick to their "stable" releases. The nightlies will give you cutting edge features but those features will introduce bugs and quirks as well.
For me, every time I get off Slim I end up back on it within a week. Love it.

I've tried Slim and I just don't really like it as much as Carbon or Liquid. Right now, Liquid is the best ROM I've ever used followed by AOKP. Carbon's stables still have rebooting issues (haven't rebooted once on Liquid yet and I've ran it for 2 days now).

ROM: [4.2.2]SlimBean-SGH_I727 skyrocket build 3.1 04-03-13 UNOFFICIAL

Special note, It seems there have been a bricked skyrocket using clockworkmod! There have been none with twrp. I would suggest you use twrp with this rom and would like to hear from anyone that has installed with cwm!
If something is broken You need to provide clear instructions on how to reproduce it and provide Logcats, kmsg and last kmsg if applicable.
This rom would not be possible without the hard work and knowledge of CyonanogenMod,prbassplayer! And of course the Slim team!

I have been compiling SlimBean for the hercules for some time now. I finally got 4.2.2 up and running pretty smooth. I noticed no one was building for the skyrocket so here it is. I've had some testers playing with it for a couple of days because I don't have a skyrocket. All has gone well, if cm has a bug then this probably does to since its a cm kernel. Camera and video are both working now. This rom is straight from Slim's source with 0 changes. I had one tester who tried a different kernel and had overheating problems and of course terrible battery life. This rom, like 4.2.1 has better battery life than cm at least for me.
I know there were problems with early development of this rom, but it is safe and can now be used as a daily driver. However as usual I am not responsible for a bricked or damaged phone. I just figured since I'm supporting the hercules why not share with the skyrocket to. If anyone wants to compile for skyrocket and take over please feel free lol Go to the rookie thread and follow the tutorial in op for slim and I will try to help with any problems. ENJOY

As one of the early testers of this build I can attest that this is smooth and solid. The only problem I've had so far is getting Trebuchet to play nice, but someone else tested and didn't have the same problem. I did all of my setup yesterday, brought it up to a full charge and went to bed. 7 1/2 hours of deep sleep (for me and the phone), some streaming audio this morning, a few texts and I've still got plenty of juice. Nice work to the OP and the whole Slim team.

Ask all questions here in this thread, I need to change the op! If one of you knows the answer to a question from another than please feel free to help. I am not a dev but I am learning fast and can compile from source. If we all work together we can keep slim working on this device as well as the hercules. We almost got left behind and since this is my favorite rom that would suck! android88 started the q&a thread listed in op and is super smart with android on your phone, so if your question or problem is not answered here then ask there. I will have him look in on this thread if he don't mind.

+1 on this! I was a bit surprised not to see the normal slim 182 dpi at first, but the density changer worked like a charm so far thanks for bringing this to us onlychevy's, you're the man!
One thing I have noticed is that the video recording preview is "zoomed in." I remember this being an issue in cm10.1 at first but topprospect made a commit that fixed it. Videos record fine, just looks grainy while recording.
Edit: anyone know where I can find the stock slim wallpaper? I want to apply a theme, but I don't want to lose this wall

I see in the CM10 thread this list of bugs:
Known Bugs:
Screen of Death: This is a CM10 bug, many other devices are afflicted, not just the blaze. Many people are working hard to fix this.
UI action sounds may not work at first. Adjust the volume with the volume buttons, the sounds will then work fine. This is a known CM10 bug
BLN is wonky. Working on getting us merged with the stable version native to CM10.
Fixed 20121103+ : WiFi generates a random MAC address with each boot.
Camera: Flash can't be disabled
Camera: Storage location cannot be changed. This isn't really a bug, however if the interest is great enough, I might try and figure out a way to change the system default storage location.
Other things maybe? Discuss in the thread...

Are all of these bugs still present in the latest builds?
The latest nightly is 99.8% stable. Occasionally occasional people have occasional problems once in a while. Nothing is 100% usually. I've been running it for many months now. Just user ICS camera from the market and set it to use your sd card for saving pics.

I'm currently running Slimbean 4.3 20130905, and I've gotta say its pretty sweet. Its in beta stages so there will be a few bugs, but honestly the only ones I've come across so far is the camera crashes, the torch crashes, and setting performance tweaks cause a reboot. Other than that its buttery smooth. I HIGHLY recommend it, sir. Its a lightweight build for superior performance, and it delivers through and through. Also flash with the minimal gapps build to keep performance nice and creamy. Slimbeam + minimal gapps = 140mgb. Smaller than your average ROM.
I would never steer a fellow android enthusiast in the wrong direction

To be perfectly honest Liquid Smooth gave me some trouble. Even after doing a completely fresh flash it wasn't stable in the least.
That being said it never hurts to give it a shot. I saw somewhere a kernel you could flash possibly fixing any issues you may have with it. Unfortunately it didn't work for me

Not really, the only thing that still exists is the stock camera doesn't have the option to save to the external SD card. Easily fixable by using a camera from the market, like 'ICS camera'.

CM10 is flawless aside from the issue with the camera, Holmes. Flash it and see for yourself!!!

Is there a stable and light rom?

Hi all!
I'm using an HTC One S, and I tried some different roms.
I tried Pacman, Paranoidandroid, but they're a little bit heavy and full of features I'll never use, and the battery doesn't last too much.
So I tried CodenameLungo, Slimroms and Carbon, and they're light and the battery use is amazing... but most of them are based on nightly release, and they're not stable. Sometimes they freeze, sometimes the sim card stop to work, sometimes I have to reboot 'cause wifi doesn't work...
And actually I'm looking for a stable and light rom... does it exist?
Waiting for any suggestion (except for Sense based rom, it's too heavy!).
Thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot, I'll try it tonight... even if it's still a RC.
My vote would be for CM 10 or the latest RC.

Beanstalk
I'm using holo black bean 2.3. So far its been 100% stable for me over the past few weeks of heavy use. Most stable non sense ROM I've used. Not sure its as light as you want but the less features you use the faster the rom will likely be especially over time.

That's my advise, too. Almost vanilla Android. Latest stable for ville is 10.0 (4.1.2) and RC2 for 10.1 (4.2) is out.
Jengirl ... I've been a pure android guy since putting my old Diamond to rest. A couple of months ago, had finally had enough of Sprint, sold the Nexus S 4G, and picked up a One S for TMobile. Immediately installed CM10, and after a few weeks tried Code Lungo ... same as you, just had annoying little issues. Finally decided to run stock 4.1.1, but without all the unnecessary TMo bloat and with a stripped down, light version of Sense. Ever since, this sucker simply flies ... without any lag. What made the difference was Rom Cleaner, that I customized to meet my needs. By the way, in addition to being fast without lag ... everything works!
I'm also on holoblackbean 2.3 & this thing is stable & it flies. No complaints. I want to switch to Odyssey when this one gets buggy or it let's me down.... It never has.

Ya, I've moved to beanstalk from odyssey, dev seems more active so more updates get merged in. So far it's great, not a single issue.

I tried odyssey and i had frequently loop reboot, so i passed to cm10.1.3 rc2 band it seems a bit more stable
Definitely can't confirm any reboots on odyssey. Try fresh install after 3x full wipe.... Running very smooth and stable here...
I've made the wipes but nothing has changed: I think it is a kernel instability problem

Thank you all for the advices!
Actually I'm trying Odyssey, but it's just a day, and I've never had an issue.
And as soon as I can I'll try Beanstalk too and romcleaner.
Thanks again!
Just wanted to give a suggestion to try a specific build of CM 10.1. Look for this under "M snapshot": cm-10.1-20130304-EXPERIMENTAL-ville-M2
I've been using it with no issues for a few months now and everything works.

Why use a monthly snapshot when there are more stable release candidates available?
Sent from my One S using xda app-developers app
Best stable, light ROM for me after trying all ROM's is [ROM] SourcE v1.4 | Audio quality | Smooth | [Unsense MOD]
Everything works with just the right amount of mods, especially the sound mod is best for me. Until I can safely update firmware for 4.2.2 Sense 5 this is best ROM for stability.
Beanstalk gets my vote, CM based and very smooth

Because, in my experience, oddly enough the most recent RCs have actually been less stable than the snapshot release. :/

Here's a copy of my user text for Rom Cleaner. Using it will make the rom fly, while keeping the important parts of Sense (ie: great camera, etc).

Test/Feedback Req: AOKP Unified Test & Pre-nightly test build

Hi everyone! BMc08GT (Brandon) has been busy so I'm trying to help out.
We made some big changes in the past few days and I need some Verizon S3 users to test 2 builds for AOKP.
One will be fired off on a nightly soon, the other is for an upcoming change.
Pre-nightly test (fixed link):
http://www.rwilco12.com/Files/Garwynn Projects/aokp_test/aokp_d2vzw_kitkat_unofficial_2014-04-03.zip
Unified S3 Test (coming soon if all works!)
http://www.rwilco12.com/Files/Garwynn Projects/aokp_test/aokp_d2lte_kitkat_unofficial_2014-04-04.zip
Please feel free to reply with feedback here, hangouts, PM, Twitter, or any other way to get it to us.
Thanks in advance!
Great to see an AOKP thread starting! I dumped CM after they started their unified build and been running bmc08gt builds since. I don't understand why people are consistently using CM with the big issues it's gone through lately when AOKP works great. I just hope AOKP doesn't go down the same road with it's unified. I am going to try the unified build and see how it goes.

Thanks for the great replies.
Since you've been using this for a while I'm hoping you can note any differences in:
1) What you've been using
vs
2) Tonight's "pre-nightly" test build (in case we need to address something before it fires off)
vs
3) Test unified build. (Brandon's been working on a test unifying on what's already in AOKP - but this is a test based off CM device trees)
There's a desire to go unified but not at the risk of breaking what's already there.
So we'll be doing what we can to test this before making the jump.
Look forward to the results!
So I briefly tested the unified build.
WORKING....
-sms and mms
-data
-phone calls with a Bluetooth headset.
NOT WORKING...
-Google search force closes especially while using the Google launcher.
In general things are looking great for a unified build. Again, I didn't test everything but so far the important necessities are working.
Great work guys!!
I would like to try out that new nightly but your link in the OP isn't working for me.

Link fixed. Thanks again for testing!
Unified build
ART isn't working. It has a consistent "NFC service has stopped"
I haven't used ART in a while but figured I would check it.

If you can please try that against a recently nightly other than the unofficial posted.
If it behaves differently please let me know.

Checked the official 3/27 build and it would not switch from dalvic to ART.
The new unofficial nightly switched to ART but had consistent force closes just like the unified build.
I tried the nightly that you have linked in the OP and data did not work.
Is it possible that the links are swapped? The pre nightly has all these issues but the unified works great??

We made several changes to device repos that very likely broke the pre-nightly. That's why we needed it tested.
But the unified is getting rave reviews from everyone I have asked. Just waiting on a gsm user to respond to see if we put it in.
Thanks again for all of your help!
Just so everyone knows, the S3 line was unified and took effect with tonight's nightly.
On behalf of Team Kang our thanks to testers for helping ensure a smooth transition.
New nightly is up - have at it!

The AOKP unified runs great. You guys did some awesome freakin work on this!! Can't wait to see what's next.
Any chance you could add the disable hardware button lights?
Could you add an official thread in original development forum?
Thanks

What's superior about this? I used to love AOKP but have been on Slim or LS lately, since 4.2 really.

Well for one I tried carbon and it worked fine on wifi but pulled in no 3g or 4g signal. Beanstalk worked good but u prefer this rom as the tweaks overall are a bit better in my opinion
