Team Carbon AOSP
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project.
We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

only release 1.7 bro
OP edited ^^
here is your answer
as I have no access to abd logcat I am propelled by the runtime of the original rom
it's like the casino, a low chance to start without any problems
generally crespo i9100 i9000 i9001 i9300 and fix framework
I can do it with a build of david if you prefer with the kernel 2
Just need to know how to build recent david works with wifi ?

v1.7 contains the auto hide status bar with timeout feature.. It's really cool and unique.. They pulled it out after few nighties.. Quite stable version too..

So I changed the title after testing the latest build i9100 and crespo
no Halo for now
will serve nothing to offer other than the stable release in time !

Simple steps to build Nitest CM-10.1 Kernel
Requirements:
Ubuntu or other linux distro with development support packages
Simple knowledge about commands on terminal and path in linux
Downloads:
1. Build Tools
https://github.com/didhiy/SimplyCM10/archive/jb42-nitest.zip
2. Kernel Source
https://github.com/didhiy/android_kernel_samsung_epicmtd/archive/nitest.zip
3. Toolchain
http://launchpad.net/linaro-toolcha...-gnueabihf-4.7-2012.11-20121123_linux.tar.bz2
Build folder setup:
Extract all 3 files and rename them to:
1. SimplyCM10
2. android_kernel_samsung_epicmtd
3. arm-linaro-4.7.3
Go to SimplyCM10/create_boot.img, delete initramfs_twrp folder and extract initramfs_twrp.tar.gz to replace it.
Edit absolute path on this 8 files to your real path:
1. android_kernel_samsung_epicmtd/Makefile
find and edit:
Code:
CROSS_COMPILE ?= /media/DATA2/arm-linaro-4.7.3/bin/arm-linux-gnueabihf-
CROSS_COMPILE ?= <your real path>/arm-linaro-4.7.3/bin/arm-linux-gnueabihf-

3. SimplyCM10/er-kxc.sh
4. SimplyCM10/er-twrp.sh
5. SimplyCM10/nr-cwm.sh
6. SimplyCM10/nr-kxc.sh
7. SimplyCM10/nr-twrp.sh
8. SimplyCM10/clean-up.sh
find and edit this on all 7 files:
Code:
KERNEL_BUILD_DIR=/media/DATA2/NitestGit/android_kernel_samsung_epicmtd
KERNEL_BUILD_DIR=<your real path>/android_kernel_samsung_epicmtd
How to build:
Open terminal and go to SimplyCM10 folder, then execute the scripts:
1. Temporary Kernel
Code:
./er-kxc.sh
or
Code:
./nr-kxc.sh
This will build a temporary (kexec) kernel, choose er-kxc.sh for Epic Modem & nr-kxc.sh for NS4G Modem.
The result should be nitest-jb42_er-MMDD-kxc.zip for Epic modem or nitest-jb42_nr-MMDD-kxc.zip for NS4G modem.
Push the zip file to your Epic4G and flash from recovery, if something goes wrong (soft brick, bootloop etc) just do "adb reboot" or pull battery (if necessary) that fault kernel will gone after device reboot or shutdown. Just stop here! and find some help...
If everything is ok, you can continue to next build.
2. Permanent Kernel with CWM Recovery
Code:
./er-cwm.sh
or
Code:
./nr-cwm.sh
3. Permanent Kernel with TWRP Recovery
Code:
./er-twrp.sh
or
Code:
./nr-twrp.sh
This will build a permanent kernel, choose er- prefix for Epic Modem & nr- prefix for NS4G Modem.
The result should be nitest-jb42_nr/er-cwm/twrp-MMDD.zip depends on modem and recovery.
Push the zip file to your Epic4G and flash from recovery, if something goes wrong (soft brick, bootloop) or (the worst) lost your recovery mode! then you must use odin to install a known working mtd kernel with recovery (recommended: create a tar CM10 kernel first) or back to stock.
4. Clean Up Kernel Source
Code:
./clean-up.sh mrproper
or
Code:
./clean-up.sh distclean
or
Code:
./clean-up.sh clean
It's recommended to run one of this command before starting to build. Make sure the compile process finish without error, by checking the zImage file on android_kernel_samsung_epicmtd/arch/arm/boot/ folder. If the zImage not exist, that mean the compilation was failed.

Not only does this have voodoo, I was having a problem with grooveshark being skippy while playing audio with the screen off, not anymore, and much much louder... Thanks a ton
I made your flashable into a Kexec-flash instead(Temporary Flash by way of mkasick) rather than a perm flash for people who don't want to be on a perm kernel without wifi, but then I acknowledged it calls upon the NS4G modem, so people going back to the stock kernel after every reboot would have issues in the long run. I'll post the zip if you'd like though it'd be the same thing unfortunately. One you'd have wifi but no signal and the other you'd have signal, voodoo sound but no wifi heh
(I extracted your zImage from the boot.img and placed it within the proper zip)
Though I'm running sans the framework patch for the Modem(don't care for it) and I had wifi, so it might be something not playing nicely with one another.
Too many variables in this instance, but ehh, I'll post the zip for reference if nothing else.

The 16GB WiFi model (SM-T310). I just realized that the device had only 1% power left when I was about to perform a flash Will report back later. I have been using your releases on may of my Sammy devices, so I have great expectations
Installed and working great so far. Might want to note that a reboot is necessary after Factory Reset or the installer sticks at 0.0%
Running nicely on my T310.
The reason why I choosed your rom is I wanted a clean stock rom without bloatware. So the aroma installer was really helpful.
Thanks for sharing the rom.

Team HellKat And LoLaTiOn Proudly Presents
HELLKAT for the Galaxy SLC!!!!
HellKat is CM11 based with a completely redone beautiful Holo Red theme. You'll probably notice a difference between HellKat and CM nightlies (or the virgin AOSP builds) due to the LINARO 4.8 toolchain we use to compile the ROMs. HellKat was first created by DerTeufel during Jellybean and was called Hellybean. We now support several devices and with a new build server we will be able to bring this beautiful ROM to even more devices. If you have another device supported by CM you more than likely can build HellKat for your other device. We have a nice build script so that the hardest part of building HellKat is setting up Ubuntu and an Android developing environement. Checkout our sources at http://github.com/Hellybean
Here is a quick list of our differences from CM:
- RED THEMED!!!
- AWESOME RED DEVIL DROID WALLPAPER!!!
- Init.d Tweaker built into the settings menu
- LCD Density Changer built into settings
- Option to add date to status bar (Thanks Slim)
- DARK System UI (Thanks Slim)
- Build.prop injector
- Transparency options for notification drawer
- Force High End Gfx (Thanks SGT7)
- Transparency option and Blur for Lockscreen (Thanks PA)
- List View Animations
- Large recents, recents color, dual pane prefs options (Thanks SGT7)
- Options to disable bootanimation and wallpaper
- Lockscreen ring battery
- Dual Panel settings
- CM Screen Security settings
- Ability to change tile colors and transparency
- ScreenRecorder
- HALO)))
- HellKat Kernel
- More to come!!!
Things to expect in the future (because we had them in Hellybean)
- PIE (Color option included)
- Active Display
- and we'll probably grab more things as we go!
Please keep this thread on topic, and treat each other with respect.

Recovery observation:
When reboot to recovery is selected it goes into repeated boot loop and eventually it boots normally if no power supply is present (?). After this boot to recovery works(!).
Dear Lolation,
Other roms are running like hell with the new updates from Master Dhiru.
But the real Hell is not running...
Please do something for the Hell.

CyanogenMod
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed.
SYSTEM PARTITION INCREASE NOT NEEDED
USE 6.0.5.1 KITKAT RECOVERY TO FLASH
What works:
SIM1 for phone calls (incoming/outgoing) and SMS, data (2g, 3g)
SIM2 is a WIP
Audio (microphone - now also outside phone calls, loudspeaker, headphones, OK google)
Sensors
Wifi
GPS (no A-GPS yet nor EPO assist files, so the fix can take a bit)
hw composer
camera for taking pictures (video from third party apps)
wifi and usb tethering
battery usage stats (expect the usage for Display to be very unprecise)
bluetooth
candy crush, facebook and twitter
GPS
What doesn't work:
2nd sim card 3G switch, Dual SIM is a WIP, not fully there yet
USSD
FM radio not available
A-GPS does not work
Video recording with Default camera.

How To Use Different Kernels In CM 11 And Flash By Yourself (PC's Required):-
1)Download desired kernel for your device.
2)Now use 7zip to open it and drag its boot.img outside in any folder. Also drag and drop CM's boot.img in any other folder and name it so you dont forget.
3)Use unpack scripts or Kitchen to decompile CM boot.img and move the decompiled contents to a separate folder.
4)Now decompile your desired kernel's boot.img and replace its ramdisk with CM's ramdisk.
5)Now recompile it and drag the recompiled boot to kernel zip file via 7zip.
6)flash it....((^^^use CM's ramdisk and your desired kernel(zImage) and pack the and flash))
For Swapping Memory:-
Decompile Boot.img and under ramdisk you will find fstab.mt6589,open it via Notepad++ and make below changes to swap memory:-
# Android fstab file.
#<src> <mnt_point> <type> <mnt_flags and options> <fs_mgr_flags>

Gapps , Inspire launcher , Nova Launcher , media , acore , play store and all basically anything. I do it exactly like in OP , or flash the ROM then boot the ROM , then reboot to recovery and instal gapps but still doesnt work ... When I boot it up , it just says i have no space for anything and i cant use applications , and I have no space so I wont receive SMS ... any idea?

Hey @spezi77 you're working hard on different kitkat roms which I find them all Identical, don't you think its better to provide one stable and complete rom instead of many different which all contain problems? I'm not here to disappoint you, but I think all these roms could be converted to each other by only some launchers and tweaks. I hope some day I can use one of your very best roms.
thanks indeed...

True words.. no worries, it's really hard to disappoint me.
Frankly, I am just learning about Android developments and versioning while looking for the most suitable and stable kk rom for my device. I enjoy the creative process of building roms -- especially by trying out different approaches, roms and kernel mods -- and sharing the results with you. There are a lot of dev teams out there borrowing features from each other -- giving their roms quite a similar feature set (why not?). But imho there are still noticeable differences! And even if we only talk about a specific look and feel or small innovations (have you ever seen Omni? sorry for OT).
With reference to the current bugs, you should not forget that most of them are common for all 4.x roms because they depend on the kernel.
However, enough said and I guess that by now you guys got really oversaturated! I will try my best to tone it down and focus on improving what is here!
Cheers!
I have different opinion on this. I agree that quality should be in favor over quantity.
We should be graceful @spezi77 bring us many choice to choose from, and then you can select the rom you like
and be more active in that thread, then natural selection will take it course.
